Disgusting, delusional, depressing. The fact that these testimonies exist in the first place is something, but I still can’t help but be shocked by the ones that still have such strong cognitive dissonance as to justify every blatantly racist act as necessary self-defense or “terrorist deterrence” or whatever the hell. Like do you not realize that this profiling in and of itself based on your so-called fear is the very definition of—and not an excuse for—racism? Or that you shouldn’t be colonizing and quite literally invading these people’s homes in the first place?? How can you have such a victim complex? I will never fucking understand, truly. But whatever. Either way it’s overall a good insight into the fucked-up mentality, regardless of whether or not each of the individual soldiers still subscribe to it or finally fully condemn it.

So sad and harsh a reality of the Palestinian residents and the IDF soldiers in the South Hebron Hills.

“We knew it wasn’t right…at the end of the day what could we do?”

And this is the stuff people had the courage to say out loud….how much deeper it must go.
