“I don’t think this complex is big enough for the both of us, Dr. St. Clair.”

Staring up into the eyes of Ethan Fuller, the single dad and divorce attorney who opened his practice in the same complex as mine, I should have known he was bad news—for my business and my heart.

But when has that organ in our chests ever listened to rational thought, huh, ladies?

As a marriage and sex therapist, I take pride in helping couples revitalize their marriages, or women embrace their sexuality, focusing on empowerment and fighting for love.

But Ethan Fuller stands for the opposite of everything I believe in with a mischievous smile that makes me weak in the knees, threatening my business and everything I’ve built, and eventually sparking a prank war between us.

Until the day he kisses me—and then nothing makes sense besides the raw magnetism I feel for him, and the pure adoration I have for his son.

My brain tells me to be cautious, but my heart leads the way as we give in to our feelings toward one another and visions of our future are all I can see.

Until that vision is threatened by one admission that has us struggling to catch our breaths and acknowledging what we truly feel.

And even though I know that walking away was the right thing to do, I fight to uphold the promises I made to his son and myself—the types of promises that have me realizing there is no other man I could see my future with.

What do you do when the person you’re supposed to be with is too scared to admit it? What do you do when you refuse to sacrifice what you want and who you are for a man? And how do you move on when in your heart you know, there’s no one else?

Interconnected romances following a group of best friends is always a big YES for me! I love how we can go from book to book, each with different tropes and main characters, and still get little crumbs of past characters to know how they're doing.

Tropes: grumpy-sunshine, single dad, opposites attract.

A marriage counselor and sex therapist versus the single dad divorce attorney, and their silly little war across the courtyard of the office complex... what could go wrong... No One Else has ALL the right elements to be a great romcom; banter, some sexy times, a silly little prank war, tension, a bit of angst, some much-needed groveling, and a swoon-worthy romance. and the chemistry between these two? off the charts!!

This is the second installment in The Ladies Who Brunch Series and can be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the first one too... its tropes... FIRE 🔥. Amelia St. Clair is a true believer in her work and the change she wants to make, that's why she's finally opening her practice to help more couples reconnect with themselves, but what she was definitely NOT expecting was Ethan Fuller, the cynic divorce attorney across the courtyard.

Their first meeting was less than ideal; Ethan was a total idiot, feeling threatened by Amelia, and she wasn't having his rude and immature behavior, but one thing led to another, and they ended up in a little prank war, trying to drive each other away. Joke's on them tho because all these antics brought them closer than ever. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and that's how you end up in a romance with two people who don't see the same future together, with an affair ready to explode in their faces... While Amelia was ready to love freely, Ethan was scared after his past experience that left him jaded and a single dad, so it's safe to say that they needed a big talk and some shocking experiences to decide their future together, but hey, don't worry! their HEA is secured, so you just have to deal with that bit of angst for a few chapters only 😉.

This is the second book in the Ladies Who Brunch series. This can be read as a standalone, but to get a better understanding of the characters and a better reading experience I recommend starting with Never Say Never. You can read my review here.

Opposites attract, right? Amelia and Ethan can't seem to think so, especially when she's a marriage/sex therapist and he's a divorce attorney running their businesses right across from each other. It couldn't have gone more according to plan as a prank war quickly arises between them.

No One Else is a full package deal of rom-com, enemies to lovers, single parent, friends with benefits (wink wink, it gets spicy and a little kinky), and brother's friend. Harlow James does such a great job with bringing her characters to life. They feel realistic, relatable and if you haven't already met the Ladies Who Brunch you have so much to discover!

I did find there were a lot of repetitive conversations between characters that didn't necessarily need to be there. I love hearing Amelia and Ethan talk of each other with other people, but I didn't need to read about it in every situation where someone asked about it.

TW: Car accident, not graphic but does occur.

2/8/24 Audio Review:: Emma Wilder and Noah Perez freaking nailed this audio and were perfect as Amelia and Ethan!!!

Get ready for tension, steam, prank wars, and banter in this enemies to lovers romance, the second book in the Ladies Who Brunch Series by Harlow James. Ethan is a single dad, divorce lawyer with cocky attitude and a chip on his shoulder. Amelia is a sex therapist right next door, who’s mission in life is to help marriages, and save them. When she finds out her office is right next to the antithesis of all she stands for, the battle between good and evil begins. What ensues is a prank war involving a giant box of dildos, business cards, brochures and major banter! She even offers a free therapy session to him which just pisses him off even more. LOL.

Don’t get me wrong, Ethan comes off as a giant asshole initially. His heart is hardened, he feels threatened and loves seeing her squirm when he speaks to her that way. This book is hot hot hot and amazing banter, sweet tender moments, hilarious scenes and of course, a HEA!

A fantastic enemies-to-lovers filled with banter and spice

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥.5

A courtyard is not enough to separate Amelia and Ethan's egos and animosity. It separates their offices but does little to stop them from going back and forth to bicker and antagonize each other. Their professions don't exactly help, either. Amelia is a couple's therapist who tries to resolve relationship issues, while Ethan represents what she is trying to avoid: a divorce lawyer.

While they certainly bring out the worse in each other, it is not only the thing that emerges and grows from every interaction. There is suppressed attraction that is ready to implode between them, and when it does, I hope you have a fan ready because it is hot, hot, HOT.

You would think that after the roller coaster Harlow James took us on with Never Say Never, I would be emotionally ready for Book Two of the Ladies Who Brunch series.

It turns out that I was wrong. Oh, so wrong.

This is my second Harlow James book, and I think what I've come to love about her writing and her series is that the male main characters in her books initially come off as these cold meanies. Then she takes us on a journey to understand what brought this one and to enjoy the wonderful character development they undergo to help find their HEA.

Don't get me wrong! I also adore each and every one of the ladies in the Brunch series. Each of their different personalities brings something to their brunch table, and they complement each other really well. Also, everyone could use a great friend like Penelope who will level up any prank.

Book Two can definitely be read as a standalone. We get to see Charlotte and Damien again, but James provides enough context to understand their history. If you like a good banter-filled enemies-to-lovers read, I highly recommend this book.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Harlow James for providing an ARC. **

ARC Review

This is the second book in The Ladies Who Brunch series. (If you haven't read Charlotte and Damien's story in Never Say Never yet, pick that one up first!)

No One Else follows the story of Amelia, a marriage/sex therapist and Ethan, a divorce lawyer and single dad. Their first meeting doesn't go so well when they discover their new offices are right across the courtyard from each other. They know the other could be detrimental to the success of their business, so naturally, a hilarious prank war ensues...

Some of the highlights for me:
- the steam, of course (for some reason their first kiss made my entire stomach do a flip!)
- the female/sexual empowerment themes that Harlow always embeds in her books (Amelia takes pole classes and is an expert on "toys", given her profession)
- the single dad with an adorable Kindergartener vibes... OMG just melt me
- the appearances from Charlotte, Damien, and the rest of the ladies who brunch
- the natural chemistry and tension between Amelia and Ethan
- the garden gnomes!!! (I can't explain this adorableness, you just have to read it)

Read No One Else if you like books with:
- Hallmark-movie themes, but with lots of steam
- Enemies to lovers + grumpy/sunshine
- Single dads and adorable kids
- Supportive girlfriend groups
- Emphasis on therapy and mental health
- Happily ever afters

No One Else is out TODAY on Kindle Unlimited and for purchase on Amazon! Thanks @harlowjames for the opportunity to read an advanced copy!

Beautifully written…this story will capture your romantic heart and won’t let it go!
Amelia is a true believer of relationships, love and romance….she loves nothing more than helping couples find the love they once felt and putting the spark back into their relationship.
Ethan has been burned…so much so that he felt his lawyer qualification would be best spent in helping unhappy couples get out of a loveless, pointless marriage as easily as possible…..

Ethan and Amelia obviously don’t see eye to eye and on their first meeting there’s a definite conflict…..But what happens when a compromise, a cute five year old and a mutually beneficial agreement come into play?…..Fireworks…that’s what happens!!
I liked this pair immensely but I didn’t love them as much as Damien and Charlotte. I appreciated all their feelings and hesitation but I didn’t really connect as strongly with them. I loved the girls as usual and I only wish their straight talking advice would have come sooner!
All in, this is a great visit with this group of friends and I am looking forward to reading Penelope and finding out how she got herself into such a pickle!!!

Amelia is a therapist who specializes in couples, Ethan is a lawyer who specializes in divorces. Their offices are next to each other’s, see the problem? Yeah! There’s a problem… these two have so much chemistry! It’s insane. Their sparring is unmatched. Ethan acts like a school boy around Amelia, making pranks and trying to avoid the undeniable… they belong together.
Their journey is full of angst, pranks, push and pull, and underneath all that there’s love and fear. They both have been burned in the past and are afraid to give themselves fully. Ethan is a single dad and hence super protective of his son, Oliver! The cutest boy ever.
Amelia has the girls (her amazing group of friends) backing her up and the laughs and fun are at spades in this book.

Be prepared to swoon, laugh and get all hot and bothered with these two! It’s definitely another gem by Harlow!

What do you get when you cross a compassionate sex therapist and a jaded divorce attorney? This book, with a whole lot of steam, banter and laughs!

These two businesses don’t mix, and neither do Ethan and Amelia at first. Ethan sets the bar high as a sexy jerk and their subsequent prank wars escalate to the extreme!

When she realizes he’s a loving single dad with relationship baggage, and he realizes the significant difference her work can make in someone’s life, they put down their boxing gloves and get to know each other.

But Ethan has sworn off marriage and Amelia is all about getting her HEA! These two have a bunch of negotiating to do. Fortunately, my favorite character in the book, Ethan’s son, helps them along.

I also loved getting the Brunch Bunch back together and how happy Charlotte and Damien are from book #1.

Great story!

I requested an early reader copy of this book and these are my honest opinions.

I loved this book!!

No One Else is book 2 of the Ladies Who Brunch series but it can be read as standalone, though I do recommend you reading them in order.

This is definitely an opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine and single dad romance and it’s done brilliantly. Our heroine, Amelia is a couples/sex therapist while our hero, Ethan is a divorce lawyer. The chemistry between these two was incredible and I loved the interaction between them from the very beginning. There is some ups and downs with these two but I was rooting for them the whole time and I absolutely loved Ethan’s character growth!

The side characters in this book are amazing! The star of the book was Ethan’s son Oliver, he was the absolute cutest!

Grumpy sunshine/ Single Dad

Amelia and Ethan are total opposites. Now working I’m the same building. Amelia is a relationship therapist set on helping couples save their marriages. And Ethan is a divorce attorney.

Oh my goodness I loved this story. Ethan has so much character growth I was really rooting for him the whole time.

A few of my favorite scenes the friends remark, gnomes, office “lunch meetings”, the stripper pole I could go on and on.

“You make me feel hopeful, and awake like I was sleepwalking, just going through the motions, accepting the idea of being alone for the rest of my life. But you’ve woken me up from my slumber, pulled me from the unmarked path I was on, and drew me to you. And I look forward to every time we see each other more than I ever imagined I could.”

“I prefer making you so crazy that you scream out my name, but maybe that’s just me.”

Oh my God! No One Else was much more than I expected in EVERY aspect, Harlow James made me love these girls much more, get excited about the idea of the friendship between the boys, wishing more strongly for a book for Jeffrey, it broke my heart with Amelia & Ethan and repair it with how cute and sensual they are whenever they are together, and obviously I LOVED how cute and adorable Oliver was.

I think I can say that Amelia is my favorite in The Ladies Who Brunch, she's an amazing woman, loves what she does, is very professional, successful and has a beautiful heart. I really enjoyed learning about her background and it was a great way to understand why she is so passionate about her profession, I loved her relationship with Nick, her older brother, with her parents, and although I know she loves Penelope, Charlotte & Noelle in the same way, I think that the link she has with the first is the most beautiful thing I've ever read, it was beautiful to see how Penelope supported, encouraged, cared for and defended her. And I am definitely in love with Amelia's attitude throughout the ENTIRE book: the way she treated her patients and cared for them was more than perfect, every moment she shared with Oliver melted my heart, and the best thing was reading her understanding Ethan's fears and trying to help him, but always putting his own desires and well-being first.

I also liked Ethan's character TOO much, I fell in love with him immediately despite his attitude when meeting Amelia for the first time, he's a very beautiful dad, he loves and cares for Oliver's well-being and one of the things I liked the most is how well he balances his work, personal life and his time with the sweetest little boy in the world. Ethan was very complicated, he's very afraid of letting Amelia into his life, of Oliver falling in love with her and especially of being hurt and "failing" in love again, and although he made me suffer with the way his decisions made Amelia & Oliver have a bad time, I loved reading him in each interaction with both of them, because that's when he shows his true personality, how nice he can be with both of them and how much they matter to him, besides that his relationship, admiration and love for his mother was also something very moving.

Amelia & Ethan are complete opposites, from their personalities to their jobs: Amelia is a sex and couples therapist, while Ethan is a divorce lawyer, and by fate they end up establishing their practices in the same building, one in front of the other and from the first moment that Amelia meets Ethan he manages to irritate her like nobody else, in the same way that he attracts her, something that also happens to him and that makes them both start a war a little childish but very funny. And although Ethan can be very smug and annoying at times, he's also extremely charming, flirtatious, and VERY SEXY, which makes Amelia even more furious and she put him in their place in ways I loved reading, but without a doubt one of the things I liked most about this couple was the way they slowly changed their minds for each other, understood each other's perspectives and they learned to respect and love their differences, which makes them both grow a lot throughout their story, although the most evident progress is Ethan's, particularly when Oliver enters the equation and what gave me many of my favorite moments in this book.

I think the sexual chemistry between Ethan & Amelia deserves a special mention because the sexual scenes in No One Else are out of this world! and I LOVED that the sexual relationship that these two share is in a specific way thanks to Amelia's hobbies and profession and that this allows her and Ethan to have the most confidence in one of their most vulnerable moments, and that just as they can be totally sensual, sexy and flirtatious in one moment, the next they are adorable and tender or can joke with the other without fear of saying the wrong thing, I think they are the perfect balance for the other and that they complement each other in a perfect way.

And if all of the above didn't already make this book an amazing read, we also have some secondary characters that I like more and more! The dynamic between Charlotte, Amelia, Penelope & Noelle is hilarious, very interesting and full of love & constant support, plus I was able to learn more about each one, read the relationship of Charlotte & Damien from other points of view and read A LOT of things that have me craving Noelle's book!!! And what about the friendship that began to form in this book between Damien, Jeffrey, Nick & Ethan which I am hoping to see much more of in the following books and am dying to read how it will progress with the new male character that is going to join the group!

💛Amelia: 5/5
💚Ethan: 5/5
💛Plot: 5/5
💚Love story: 4/5
💛Secondary characters: 5/5
💚World: 5/5
🌶️: 5/5

💛Amelia: 5/5
💚Ethan: 5/5
💛Trama: 5/5
💚Historia de amor: 4/5
💛Personajes secundarios: 5/5
💚Universo: 5/5
🌶️: 5/5

ARC review 📚 The second book of the Ladies who brunch series did not disappoint. Amelia is a little spitfire and I love her strong, no BS personality. You get to see her meet Ethan and his son Oliver and go through all sorts of ups and downs all while having her best friends by her side. I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to read Penelope’s story this fall!!

This new series by Harlow James hooked me in book one, Never Say Never, and I couldn’t wait to read the next love story from this crazy group of friends, The Ladies Who Brunch.

Amelia is a relationship and marriage therapist, her main goal is to help couples face their problems together and stay together, having helped her parents through a rough patch as a teenager. She’s got a well-rounded client base and a new office and is ready to thrive in her new environment, until she realises her new neighbour across the courtyard is none other than a divorce lawyer. Single dad Ethan makes sure that he does everything in his power to help his clients have a straightforward divorce, after his own was messy and long. He stands for the opposite of everything Amelia does, and it makes them instant enemies, despite the attraction between them. A prank war breaks out between them, until one takes it too far and they move from acquaintances to friends with benefits, deciding they can mutually profit from the chemistry between them. But can two people who have such different and strong opinions on relationships ever work long term?

Amelia and Ethan’s relationship evolved between enemies to more quite rapidly, however there were some chapters I felt weren’t really necessary in the story development. I loved the bond Amelia had with Ethan’s son Oliver, and I think that was one of the first things to show Ethan she wasn’t the enemy, but just someone with an alternate opinion. Amelia was always trying to help others, putting them first and wanting to make sure their happiness comes above her own, but with Ethan, he could push her buttons like no one else, bringing out this fiery side of her that was amazing. I adored her friendship group as well, as a girl who loves a brunch with her besties, it felt like I was sat at the table with my own friends in every brunch scene, and I am excited for each women’s own story.
Ethan had been so sure that he would remain single until Oliver was older, not wanting to be left by another woman, but Amelia proved all his doubts wrong, and showed him that it was okay to open his heart up again. He was terrified that Oliver would become attached but once he saw the bond between them he knew that if it was going to be anyone, it was going to be Amelia. I wasn’t a massive fan of some of his behaviour, I thought he acted quite childish at times, and I adored how Amelia stood up for herself and let him come to his own realisation for his mistakes and didn’t try and change his mind.

The story was heart-warming and so cute at the end, but I will say at times it felt like it dragged out a bit and that it could’ve been shorter. However, this group of friends is one of the best I’ve read in a while, and I wish I was part of the gang, I can’t wait to read Penelope’s story next as I hope it will be as chaotic as she is!

Reread via audio. Narrators Emma Wilder and Noah B. Perez! Harlow knocked it out of the part again for this book! These narrators truly brought these characters to life! I loved reliving this story and let me tell you CHAPTER 13 SHOULD BE ILLEGAL because holy shit. Thank you Noah for that. 😂
Honestly this audio made me remember this books has one of my favorite third act break ups. And yes yes yes I know some of yall are sensitive and hate them, but I LOVE THEM! I love seeing the characters grow and FIGHT for their love and this third act MADE SO MUCH SENSE for both characters and I loved seeing Amelia stand up for what she wanted and Ethan grow in himself. And HELLLO men going to therapy is HOT AS FUCK! I got emotional in those ending chapters and I loved reliving the hurt and the healing.
The rest of my original review still stands.

This is the second book in The Ladies who brunch series, but totally can be read as a stand alone but I encourage you to read Never Say Never first to really enjoy all of these characters!
I simply just loves Harlow James’s writing. She knows how to weave together SPICY STEAM, fun banter, great storylines and amazing side characters! This book was no different. Amelia is a strong and fierce woman who knows what she wanted and didn’t settle not even for sexy Ethan! Ethan was a grumpy single dad that you grew to love! But honestly the star of this book for me was his son Oliver! Lol! He was fantastic and really added to the story! I love how the book dealt with really common things that happen and so many people could relate to the characters and see themselves in them and know they can also get their happy ever after! I did find Ethan and Amelia’s connection to be a little instalove for me and I sometimes struggled with feeling their chemistry. But built up through the book well. Overall really liked this book and I can’t wait to read Penelope’s book next!

I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.

It has been a while since I wrote a review about a book, but this one deserves one!!
Holy moly 🔥🔥 this is probably Harlow’s hottest book yet. I was not expecting that, but I definitely am not complaining.
I loved Amelia and how headstrong she is, how she is sure of what she wants out of life and love and doesn’t settle for less than what she deserves.
Ethan was hot as hell too. Took him a while there to get with the program but it was so worth the wait.
These two are perfect one another & their chemistry was unreal.
I also love how the author handles the “miscommunication” in this. It was very short lived, and the way Amelia took hold of the situation like the boss she is was great.
& omg. Oliver and the gnomes…precious. But that’s all I’m saying, because you need to grab this book to find out what I’m talking about!
I’ve already made 2 of my friends pick this book up, so you all should too!

It has a little of everything. Competitiveness, hilarious pranks, friendship, sweet, spicy (literally hot as hell), a little sadness & ooey gooey love confessions.

FIVE STARS.

Book 2 in The Ladies Who Brunch Series. This is Amelia’s story. A therapist, helping people with their relationships and keeping them together. She is finally setting up her office but, also moving into her office complex, a divorce attorney, the opposite of everything she’s trying to accomplish. Ethan, a single dad, who used to believe in love, has been on the side of divorce and is a shark when it comes to process of legally splitting. These two butt heads hard, but beneath all that anger is allll kinds of explosive chemistry. I liked this story alot. It had great friends, fun banter, interconnected characters, sexiness, a great single dad, sweet kiddo. I think it could be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the first one. It will just make everything click and more enjoyable if you knew about the previous couples story. Looking forward to Penelope's story.

You guys! I’m loving this series and it is so slept on!

I loved Amelia and Ethan. The pranks they pulled, the sweet moments, and the spicy moments it was all amazing. Their chemistry has me routing for them instantly.

My favorite thing was the blended family aspect - as we all know this is a soft spot for me. Amelia’s connection with Oliver just warmed my heart. She shows up for him in so many ways and reminded me of how I am with my step kids. Harlow you seriously did an amazing job writing this dynamic.

Also this girl group has my whole heart, they love each other so much and always support each other while giving each other a kick in the ass when needed. I can’t wait for the best book!

💛Enemies to lovers
💛Single dad
💛Amazing girl group
💛Spicy 🥵
💛Toys 👀

Amelia is excited to move her marriage and sex therapy business out of her home and into her new office. Her business is to help save marriages, and help them communicate better. What she wasn't expecting was a divorce attorney to be in the office across the courtyard from her.

Ethan is a single dad, jaded from his own broken marriage. She didn't want to be a mother to their son, and walked away. He doesn't believe in marriage anymore, however he can't deny the attraction he has with Amelia.

They have some great banter, and the prank wars was hilarious. Ethan's son was adorable and lightened some of the scenes between Amelia and Ethan.

I loved their tension and it took a bit for them to work out how to move forward but I'm glad they got their HEA. I also loved getting to revisit the ladies from the Brunch club.

I received an arc from the author for review. All opinions are my own and given freely.

Another spicy and beautiful romance from Harlow James!! I love reading about these strong, supportive, spicy, and caring ladies. I also extra love when a therapist is written about in ethical ways (biggest pet peeve)! Amelia is a boss lady who knows what she wants in every area and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself! If you haven't read Charlotte stories in Never Say Never #1 go start there!! I can’t wait to see what Penelope’s story will be in the next book!!

Oh Ethan, Ethan, Ethan. He has got to work on being a less grumpy gnome! I don’t blame him for being guarded and protecting both himself and his son after his divorce. I felt like I was watching this book in person in real time! It was so well written!

I knew Amelia had a wild side to her and a heart of gold. I want to be a lady who brunches with them! Her love for Oliver was exactly what I hoped it would be, true unconditional love immediately. Her love for Ethan took a little more time.

Book 2 in the Ladies Who Brunch series gives us Amelia and Ethan's story. Amelia is a marriage and sex therapist who believes in fighting for and saving as many people's relationships as she can. Ethan is the jaded divorce attorney who, thanks to his own bad experience with marriage, has become closed off to the idea of his own future marriage to protect himself and his five-year-old son, Oliver, from being abandoned again. After both moving into adjacent office spaces, they don't get off to the smoothest of starts, and a prank war ensues. Sexual chemistry and tension build until they can't be ignored, leading to a friends-with-benefits situation that quickly spirals into more. But can these two agree on their future desires, or will their differences prove insurmountable?

I liked this but didn't love it as much as I did book one. I struggled with Ethan's character, and he never really improved enough for me to change my overall indifference towards him as an MMC. 😏 His attitude and feelings towards Amelia came across as very surface-level, especially at the beginningI appreciated that he was upfront about what he initially wanted regarding a friends-with-benefits situation. Honestly, Amelia pushing for more after agreeing to it, when he had been honest about his intentions, didn't sit right with me. It made the moments when they were having lunch together feel forced and painted Ethan in a light where he was only doing those things to ensure the physical aspect continued. I don't think that was fair to his character; it left him looking and feeling shallow. Amelia did the cliché thing of agreeing to one thing while hoping for more, and I found that cringeworthy, honestly. Yes, you can't always help developing deeper feelings for someone, but she went into it knowing that was her end goal, which felt disingenuous to me. I liked that she didn't settle for less and was willing to walk away when she and Ethan couldn't agree on their future, but by the time that situation happened, it felt a bit eye-roll-inducing because it was obvious from the start that's where they would end up. For a therapist, she wasn't great at actively communicating and taking Ethan's words at face value. 🤷‍♀️ The spice was good, and there was plenty of sexual tension/chemistry between them, though, and I personally love a "toys as teammates" moment.🌶🌶🌶

Overall, this was a good read, and I liked it. Emma Wilder and Noah B. Perez narrate, and I enjoyed their performances. I just didn't connect with these characters or their story as I expected to. I am, however, very interested in Penelope's story, which is next, especially after that little teaser at the end of this book. So, onto book 3 I go.

"Amelia needs to remain in the box of untouchable thoughts I like to keep somewhere far in the recesses of my mind, and even though I know I should leave her alone, the teenage boy in me is thoroughly enjoying watching her react to every little thing I say or do. Little does she know, the plan to get her next reaction has already been set in motion."

"You should know by now that I always root for my friends partaking in some toe-curling, good ol nasty fucking. Every woman needs to be fucked within an inch of her life once in a while, and sex with the enemy? That's the best kind, my dear."

"Because that look in your eyes? That look is reserved for me. It's borderline wanting to knee me in the balls and borderline wanting to yank on my hair while my mouth is between your legs. Does that sound about right?" : "No." "Liar."

I want to do so many dirty things to you, Amelia, that even a shower won't restore your perfect image. I want to hear you scream my name, I want to see that mouth of yours wrapped around my dick, and I want to explore every inch of your body until I know it better than my own."

"She's the woman making me question every notion about love I've ever had. And even though I'm terrified, I want to believe that things happen for a reason too. But deep down, I'm afraid that something or some one will fuck this up-and that someone might just be me."

"We should never expect someone to change for us, but if someone is willing to change for themselves and it allows us room in their lives, that's a rare action that should be valued."

Amelia is a marriage and sex therapist, her mission in life is to help couples revitalize their marriages and help women embrace their sexuality. When she moves into a new building for her practice, she meets her neighbor Ethan who stands for the opposite as he is a divorce attorney. A prank war ensues between the two but along the way feelings start to change and truths come to light.

Wow the instant chemistry between Amelia and Ethan was great! The tension when they were around each other was HOT! Their banter was incredible and their prank war had me laughing! I adored Ethan’s son Oliver! He was so cute!

I listened to the audiobook and both narrators did a great job! They brought the heat and heartfelt emotions of each character! I am always so impressed how the narrators can switch up their voices so well to portray other characters!

This is the second book in The Ladies Who Brunch series, but can be read as a stand alone. I encourage you to read Never Say Never first to really enjoy all of these characters!

Amelia and Ethan are total opposites. Now working in the same building. Amelia is a relationship therapist set on helping couples save their marriages. And Ethan is a divorce attorney. No matter how hard they fight it, they're drawn to each other.
I loved this story, and the character growth for Ethan 😘...it was also nice to see Amelias personality shine this whole book.

This is an opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine and single dad romance and it’s done brilliantly.

IMO the star of the book is Oliver, Ethans son. The relationship between him and his dad is just perfect and the growing one between him and Amelia is so beautiful!!!

No One Else releases June 5 on KU! While you wait, you can read book 1 of the series, Never Say Never!

I love Harlow James, I simply adore her. Unfortunately, this book was not for me. It hit me the wrong way. I love enemies to lovers and bully romances for the tortured hero -seeing him brought to his knees and his need to grovel for the love of his woman. It’s a hard line to draw between your dislike of a character’s actions and the characters themselves. I did not like Ethan. AT ALL. I love, love, loved Amelia. She stood up for herself and what she wanted. She would not bend for an I’m-sorry-I-love-you-so-please-just-settle-for-what-I-want BS from Ethan. Amelia is absolutely the type of heroine I love and respect.

Here's why I think No One Else is a bully romance that took a wrong turn for me. Enemies to lovers is a mutual dislike and sparing. Amelia is verbally attacked by Ethan with zero provocation and she simply stands up for herself (AS SHE SHOULD). This is a bully situation. In a bully romance we need to feel the bully’s pain and understand his triggers and what sets him off. We sympathize with his pain. I did not feel Ethan’s past was any more traumatic than any other person who has suffered the loss of a relationship and dream of the future he wanted. To make it worse, I don’t even think he loved his ex. To me Ethan seemed, self-pitying, self-righteous, and childish. I don’t enjoy men who don’t get their way and lash out a woman because she’s there and she provokes feelings he’s not prepared to handle. I needed some trigger or trauma from Ethan to ‘excuse’ his behavior. It wasn’t there for me.

If you want a strong loving heroine then Amelia is perfect for you! I am really looking forward to the next book with Penelope and Maddox. I do love a good Harlow James book! She writes amazing heroines.

**Edited to add audio review**
After rereading this book via audio I am still in love with Amelia & Ethan! She is still the strong kicka** therapist and he is still a swoony single dad and their story is still one that needs to be read! Narrators Emma Wilder & Noah B Perez slayed their characters and if you love audio like I do you too will be a fan!

**Original review**
"The entire path I've been on was the one that I had to travel on to get to you."

I love The Ladies Who Brunch! No One Else is book 2 in this series about 4 girlfriends looking for love and finding it in all the best ways.

Amelia is a sex therapist who recently moved into her first office space. Ethan is a divorce lawyer who also moved into his own office space...directly across from Amelia. I knew with that setup this enemies to lovers couple would be an amazing read and I was not wrong.

Amelia is pretty set in her ways and one of the things I loved most about her is that she stood strong about what she wanted out of her life. Even when she broke her own heart with her decisions she knew she had to do it. Ethan was the perfect grumpy single dad for this story. Underneath it all he was such a teddy bear. This romance was filled with so many good moments from the prank wars to the steamy office hotness. Loved it!

What a perfect choice of narrators. Noah B Perez and Emma Wilder really brought the story of Ethan and Amelia to life.

Rating: 10/10
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Tropes: grumpy-sunshine,
single dad, opposites attract.
listened on: ALC

I'm convinced Harlow James can do no wrong because both of her books I've read just SLAP. they are the BEST. I am so in love with the girls who brunch. This one follows Amelia whose a sex therapist and very passionate about what she does because of her parents story and Ethan whose a divorce attorney and is also very passionate about what he does because of the divorce he had went through. and they both just so happen to be in the same work building so ya... you can see why there is some tension.

Amelia and her relationship with Nates son was SO PRECIOUS like the garden gnomes? PLZ. it was perfection. and the gelato? all these little moments made this book so damn special. I loved to see Ethan fight through is fears of commitment and see him really embrace his relationship with Amelia.

and the BEDROOM POLE SCENE? PLZ. WILL LIVE RENT FREE.

Bring on book three and Pen!!!!
