One of his earliest works was Tennenshokudanji Buray (天然色男児BURAY), which lasted for two volumes and was published from 1991 to 1992. Takahashi did not find success until 1996 when he created Yu-Gi-Oh!

Not a good ratio of duels to plot in this one. I realize Yu-Gi-Oh! revolves around the game of duel monsters, but I’m not a fan of when 90% of the story is just dueling. I want the plot to be advanced and this collection did very little of that.

This arc keeps proving to be one of the best ones, so entertaining. From really intense and well thought out duels to new character introductions and development. All around a fun time.
Although, the whole dark magician becoming self-aware was kinda of a stretch honestly. The introduction of dark magician girl was awesome, so cute, an icon.
They are also really stretching the whole Joey's storyline being based around his sister giving him purpose. I guess it could be worse. First to help her pay for her surgery and now to give her the courage to see. Guess he needs a purpose to participate in these events. However, Joey as a duelist has grown so much compared to the beginning of the series, he no longer wins based on luck but skill. Talented.
That mime dude was super creepy, what in the world.
The god cards are honestly such a great addition to the card game, it makes everything high stake. Also based on the people who currently hold on to the cards by the end of the volume it makes the anticipation for the upcoming explosive duel bigger. Malik has also been making a really good villain, he's pretty cool.
Lastly, Bakuya is a rat and Kaiba can get annoying. On to the next.
