Uzziah: Mountain Man: The Making of a Mountain Man: A Twenty-First Mountain Man Adventure

Rate this book
The twenty-first “ Mountain Man” adventure has arrived!

Uzziah went back to the cabins to see the winter through by himself. On his way, a huge dog (or is it a wolf?) befriends him. Instead of going directly to the cabins, he camps in the high meadow with the Irish Wolf Hound he named Bash. He sleeps near his wife Hannah’s grave, and when he sees smoke coming from the direction of the cabins, he and Bash go down to investigate.

A woman is living there, and she seems to know his name and a whole lot more.

Uzziah, being the friendly type, trusts her too much, and before long he is sick. He isn’t sure why, but he begins to conjecture she might be poisoning him.

He tries to leave but is held captive in his own cabin, though not before sending a message by tumbler to his partner, Immanuel, at the settlement.

When Uzziah’s horse, Shadow, shows up at the settlement with frozen blood on the saddle, Immanuel takes off in the middle of a blizzard. He nearly freezes to death until Stygian, his black stallion, finds him a cave. Weatherford Profit, the owner of the cave, helps Immanuel get to the cabins.

Their arrival is anticlimactic, as Uzziah went through hell and came out the other side, all by himself.

Will the boys be the same after this? Will they ever trust another woman? Will Profit and his presence bring something new and different into the mountain men’s lives? Join Uzziah & Immanuel as they brave not only the elements, but the hardness of a woman’s broken and demented heart.
