I have decided I wont continue this series. There are too many mistakes, and even though I like the characters and the story is entertaining, I just feel the author kept forcing events and pushing things to continue it.
Furthermore, I can't get over how certain deaths were treated as if they meant nothing. I felt that some characters were there only to be used repeatedly as not-quite-villains or to undergo a sad/tragic death for shock value. When certain characters died, the experience was painful and sorrowful, and the reasons behind their deaths were truly significant. I expected serious consequences for some of these events but nothing happened.
Additionally, some relationships didn't have sufficient development or consistency to create the impression that I believe the author was aiming for. In the span of just 2 chapters, Kat went from being enemies with the killer to suddenly being friends, forgiving the traitor, and seemingly forgetting all the harm caused by her "enemy". As for the victims, well, they were already deceased, so why bother, right?
I know I shouldn't take this story too seriously but I do have my limits and this just feels too toxic. Too bad because I genuinely enjoyed the smutty scenes between Ezra, Kat and Mateo, those were pretty good and, in my humble opinion, there were very few of them.
Andrei's storyline with his new mate seemed interesting, but I think it's best for me to stop here.
I do like this series, it's just that the author needs more experience. The plot is very good, but the character development and dialog could definitely use some help. But she must be doing something right, because I'm going to continue the series.
2.5/5 Enjoyable if you don't take it too seriously and gloss over some character inconsistencies. The Goodreads description fits the first book, not the second.
Sex scenes 4/5 It's a love triangle so if that's not your thing, it should be obvious this isn't the book for you.
The mystery of what Kat is and her powers was interesting. I liked the Moon Goddess storyline.
My main issue is the character development or lack thereof. There is a lot of anger, which is all portrayed as out of control and over the top. There is no buried, slow, deeper rage simmering beneath the surface. Kat discovers she's been lied to for a long time but quickly forgives. There is nothing relatable in Kat's relationship with her newly discovered brother.
I'm curious enough to read the next book but plan to wait awhile. Need more substance/quality first
I was glad the book became LGBTQIA friendly until it became a graphic description of sex scene after sex scene using a story line to contain them. I was grateful that bisexuality was being named and polyamorous relationships lifted as normal but I missed half the book skipping through the description of the sex. I was also glad that the heroine was NOT condemned for being sexual, but again, I didn’t need the graphic sex. Our society WILL benefit from having all relationships normalized, but I don’t believe society will be open to accepting changed views when these concepts are portrayed in this format.
Fated to the Beta Fated #2 By Jessica Hall Narrated by Gunnar Qualen, Jenna St Claire, Ryan Lee Dunlap
I know I have said it before, I am not a paranormal lover, but there is something about Jessica Hall's writing that pulls me in and has me riveted to her stories. This books is packed with emotions and love, surprises and betrayals, decisions and most importantly family. Katya, Ezra and Mateo are making life choices. The Moon Goddess gives Kat important guidance and the foreshadowing had me on edge. The twists and turns of Jackson's and Andre's pack keep things exciting and suspenseful. Without giving too much away, it's spicy and sensual, dangerous and thrilling and just left me wanting more! Bring on Andre's story!
Narrated by the talents of Gunnar Qualen, Jenna St Claire and Ryan Lee Dunlap, I was treated to a fantastic duet! Fabulous voices, incredible portrayals of the characters and easily drew me into this book. Qualen and St Claire are the main voices, each adding a flair to their voices to make each character easily distinguishable and believable. Then Dunlap comes in as Andre, and what a match! He is perfect, just the right amount of sweetness to his evil comes through. I cannot wait to hear more from this collaboration!
Jessica Hall has a new app you can download on Apple and Android mobile devices to enjoy not only her amazing audiobooks, but her ebooks too! Check out the Apple App Store or Google store for hours of entertainment! It will also be available on Audible!
Despite what so many say about the grammer, the character building, etc, the story is still AMAZING.
If you can look beyond all the grammer errors , the lack of character building, etc, you will be able to see how good this story actually is.
Now I am probably biased because i love the supernatural genre, but I am also a fan of Jessica halls books and have been since i found her book on facebook back in 2021.
Again, this is a werewolf fated mates book, but this time, she is taking a second mate.
Her second mate is one that has been with Ezra longer than she has been.
Mateo kills his own mate in order to save his luna, his bestfriends mate.
And is rewarded in such an unfound way that it makes perfect sense.

Originally published on an app in a write as you go style so there was definitely some room for improvement in the grammar however this entire series went through a rewrite and re-edit for print and kindle. I bought it again through kindle to get the new versions and there is so much added to this world that I couldn’t put it down even after u had already read it multiple times. I definitely recommend this series if you like fantasy, spice and solid plot. It is a very complex series that needs to be read in order. The characters build so much as you go that you simply need them all. You will not want to wait shipping after finishing one 😆
The plot didn’t make a lot of sense. Definitely had some pacing issues. Potentially some Mary Sue-isms. Probably not going to continue the series, especially the last two chapters of the book felt like a messy attempt to hook readers into the next book. From that, I assume the next book is about how a second chance mate can fix the dArK aLpHa.
I will say, however, that this book was edited MUCH better than the first one. It was much easier to read, even if a lot of it felt like unnecessary filler. I’m leaving the book entertained, but a little confused to what the main plot actually is. Can’t say I’ll be rereading it to figure that out.

The first book was great. This one in my opinion is not very good at all. Todays romance in a lot of novels is written more like a porn magazine with way too many explicit details and while I do not judge anyone for the kind of relationships they like to have to each their own, I stopped reading this book when some of the main characters end up having more than one mate and gives explicit details of the relationships and to me the story focuses more on the sex details than other parts of the story and it draws it out into a much longer story than it has to be. Others may like that and that is fine, to each their own but I’m finished with this series.
I listened to this on Spotify, and did TRULY enjoy it !! I have been craving a werewolf romance for so long and this was perfect. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because of how long the series is. I don’t think I’ll be reading/listening to the third one (one bc Spotify doesn’t have it) but also bc it feels as Katya and Mateo and Ezra’s story could have ended here but feels like it’s going to be dragged into a third book that isn’t really about them. Even with that said, this book was good! All questions answered, now really leaving on a cliff hanger which was amazing ! Just no epilogue sadly since there is like 5-8 books in this series lol
If you really like werewolf shifter books, go for it. I particularly do but struggled with Fated to the Alpha and Fated to the Beta because I didn’t feel like there was enough relationship development between characters for some of their feelings to make sense. Not just between the main love interests but even between the MFC & her family. I struggled to really understand her as a whole. I thought the backstory got a little convoluted & confusing which made it hard to follow. I didn’t continue the series but the storyline kept my interest enough to at least finish the first two books.
The novel itself is well written. This is part 2 of Ezra and Katya’s story. We get to see if they are able to break the curse that has been settled on Katya’s family for generations. Katya is the one who brings together the packs with ties to more than one being recognized as the lies of her family are brought to light. This is one of the best PNR worlds I have read and I really enjoyed the story. Again, my only complaint is the cost of the format.
I originally read this on a reading app as she was writing it. Well I wanted to reread it but had to come to Amazon and buy it. Amazing series. The only thing is like 2 or 3 chapters are missing in between FTA ending and FTB beginning. I don't know if this is done on purpose or what but if I hadn't already read it I would be confused on a few parts of the book.
I only read book 2 because book one ended as a completely unfinished story. There were some good parts, which is why I gave it two stars, but the bad parts outweighed the good. I will not be reading book three to find out what happens to Andrei. The smut scenes were mostly good, but I couldn't get over the constant mentions of wet slapping sounds. I also couldn't picture the logistics of how it would be possible for the threesome scenes to work that way. It didn't feel believable at all.
I read this on a reading app earlier in the year and have been dying to read it again and it didn’t disappoint. I hate what happened to Angie. She didn’t deserve it even if she was terrible at the beginning of book 1. Though I’m sad about Angie I can’t wait to finally read what happens next.
I found this second book difficult to get through. At some points it had me hooked but then it felt like it was just stretching out for no reason. It got better towards the end, but then the cliffhanger… I’m not sure if I will continue the series. Still love this author though.
I did not want this story of Kat, Ezra and Mateo to finish as such here. I am assuming they will be in the other books however I wanted more of there own story. So we'll written. I laughed, cried, got angry and felt the sorrow of the characters while reading. You are an amazing author and I love every minute of these 2 books.
This second book of the series continues in the same tone as book 1. It is fun, easy to read, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This book mostly centers around the original couple moving to a thruple situation. There is banter and a quick moving plotline.
This is a good conclusion to their duet yet an opening for Andrei's book. To be honest I'm more excited about Andrei's book to see how it will play out.
Kat was getting on my nerve at one point but so we're Mateo and Ezra 😆. I'm glad everything worked out.
This is book 2 and must be read in order to enjoy the full story. A wonderful wrap up for Kat and the guys and an excellent hook for the next book I’m invested in these characters and can’t wait to read the next one!
I like the characters I just don't like how dark it gets. This is the second time I've read it and I finally got through it. But I probably won't read it again. Which is bad cause I had to buy it to read it. But if you like a little darker books this is probably for you.
It was so good. The plot the mood and tone of the book. I enjoyed everything about this story and I already know that Andrei book is going to hame me either in tears again or constantly cheering and rooting them on!
This second book was so interesting to read. Pieces of the story puzzle were answered with such a profound level of understanding. It still holds plenty of curiosity of what else will happen with other characters. I am really ready to start the next book in the series.
This entire series kept me busy for a week. I was in love with the entire story and since its been a while since i read all of them all of the books turned into one big one in my head. So ill give them all the same rating
Loved it. I can’t wait to read number 3. I hope everything works out for everyone. I hope to see Kay’s family grow and ALL get their happily ever after.
