There are no second chances with first impressions without a little hard work.
Hilary didn’t believe in love at first sight until she saw Cate. In a flash, she knew she never wanted to be without her. But when Hilary turns her back, Cate vanished, leaving Hilary’s life in a turmoil of the likes she had never experienced before.
Cate wanted to experience everything college had to offer, except she didn’t want to be another notch in Hilary’s bed post. She wanted to find the love of her life. That is until her college career comes to an abrupt end and her days turn to adulting in an instant.
Months later, when Hilary runs into Cate at her job, she gets a second chance, but her usual bravado is gone. She is messing up at every turn. Can she convince the girl who hasn’t left her mind to give her a second chance?
This is a prequel novella to Still the One taking place years earlier when Cate and Hilary meet and fall in love. Still the One is their second chance at love. This is a stand alone HFN romance with all the feels.
This actually is the prequel to still the one, a quick cutesy read giving the background. It's nowhere near as deep as the follow up, but entertaining nevetheless.
Wow - I needed a little more than that. As Lindsey Pennington does, she has pulled me in to a story of characters with drama, hardships, careers and love. Cate and Hilary are young but decide to move in together as their worlds are just opening up and their relationship is just starting. Cate with her loss of scholarship and working full time to make ends meet. Hilary with her friends gone from school and having a half year left before her career in architecture which was to take her home to California but now. I can see the dynamics of this story and can’t wait for the next read!
It definitely qualifies as a prequel since it's sooooooo short. Like, it could qualify almost as the starter chapters you send an editor to see if they're interested in the real thing. But, it is an interesting premise and hopefully the actual book lives up to the hype. I'm going to read that next. It's definitely a good introduction for the actual book.
I will call this a HFN book because it left me hanging, hanging in a good way. I look forward to reading book two. The characters, Cate and Hilary are sweet and lovable. The book is 63 pages of delight. I will say this is 4 to 5 stars, a very pleasant read. If you read this one enjoy it.
The characters and storyline were easy enough to follow and not get lost in an over abundance of characters. The storyline of love at first sight was clearly notable from the beginning. A sweet romance with enjoyable characters
For some reason, I just couldn't get into this. I couldn't keep track of all of the characters at first, & I didn't really like the MCs. There also seems to be a lot back & forth for such a short read.
This one looked interesting and since I've read another from this author, I gave it a go. I enjoyed the story and the characters and look forward to the follow up.
