This delightful series revolves around the charming tale of three sisters who make a wager to find themselves engaged by the end of summer. Failure to do so would result in the remaining sister having to marry Aidan in order to save their family business. Each book in the series focuses on one sister's quest for love, and now it's Misty's turn to take the spotlight. With its lighthearted and engaging storytelling, these books offer a pleasurable and effortless reading experience, making them an ideal choice for cozy reading.

Light, lovely read, Second Bride Down is part two of a series. The three sisters have to get married or they have to marry according to the legal documents. What's crazy is that Luke is right there, pretending to already be engaged to Misty...and her sisters are on her case to find true love. I adore the love that this family has for each other!

I liked Second Bride Down as much as the first book in the series, and it can be read as a standalone. Witty, fun and full of gushy moments... our heroine Misty is also sassy! Definitely an enjoyable romance!

3.5 Right In Front Of You Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
This is the second entry to this series but you really can read it on its own. We have three sisters who need to marry as dictated by the legal papers from an inheritance.

What is the worry is the time element and the question of who they marry.
Each sister has her own story and this has to do with the diner and holding on to it for the family.

We have the sisters posting a billboard to help Misty to find the right guy but the best friend of Misty will have none of it, he wants her for himself. The main question is whether Misty realizes the answer to her problem is right in front of her and not pretending to love her, he does.

Three sisters agree that the sister who isn’t engaged to be married in a month will accept a marriage of convenience that will correct a past swindling and save the family business. The groom doesn’t care which sister he marries. Sister Nell has already found her man so with only two sisters left Misty declares she is willing to marry the guy as there is only three weeks to the deadline. But in a move that makes zero sense Charlotte posts a billboard with a photo of Misty saying Marry Me. Because one or the other is going to have to marry the guy I don’t understand why Charlotte pushes Misty to find love and is still out looking herself. What is the reason of the contest at this point?

When a line forms out the shop door Lucas who works in the shop declares Misty and he are already involved. So now it is a fake relationship troupe but not really because Lucas has been in love with Misty for years. Lucas and Misty agree to live with each other, platonically, to find out their feelings. The sisters give them a list of challenges to get to know each other. Things like take a bike ride, look at the stars, share a secret. The two getting to know each other is actually sweet. Misty has actually known Lucas for years but just as someone who works in their shop.

The premise is fun but because of the short time frame everything has to move along quickly. The characters at times are almost cartoonish in actions. I can see this being fun and escapist reading for some but it didn’t connect me to the characters because they didn’t feel realistic. Lucas is too perfect, he cooks, he cleans, he listens to her every want, but he also comes off as misogynist planning a future without talking with her. Misty is the dreamer, with a tat and piercings who wants to go to design school. When she is willing to give that up for someone else's plan and because she may be homesick I was ready to throttle her.

I’m giving a weak three stars because I’ve now finished two books in the series. I’m invested enough to want to Charlotte’s story. If you are looking for a clean, wholesome romance and can embrace the silly set up, please enjoy this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Quick Summary: A love that's right in front of your eyes romance

My Review: Second Bride Down by Ginny Baird is book two in the Majestic Maine series.

About the Book: What happens when your face suddenly gets plastered on a billboard with a message about accepting marriage proposals? As you can imagine...men come out of the woodwork. Yikes!

About the Characters:

Presently, Misty Delaney finds herself living life and working with her family in their local business. All the while, she secretly harbors a precious dream that she hasn't shared with any of her loved ones. As she seriously contemplates sacrificing her own happiness to go abroad and fulfill a merciless obligation, she is, quite frankly, gobsmacked by the unexpected machinations of a close relative. Little does she know that someone has been patiently waiting in the wings to profess his interest and to claim her heart. What happens when the what meets the who in this crazy, mixed up mess?

Lucas Reyes is totally gone over his co-worker. Truth be told, he has had a thing for her since they were in school. Alas, he never got the opportunity to shoot his shot. Unfortunately, he might miss his chance if he doesn't make a move soon. The billboard that went up about her didn't help matters any...or did it?

My Final Say: This sweet installment features the darling relationship between Misty and Lucas of Majestic, Maine.

I loved so many things about this book. Two elements that really sparked my attention in this book were the family-rich connections and the multicultural aspect. I also adored the community and the supporting cast. I particularly liked Mr. Mulroney and Mei-Lin.

Other: Without question, I still have GREAT interest in Aidan. I just know he's going to be a charmer. He has to be. I would be so disappointed if he ended up being contemptible. I cannot wait to meet him more formally in book three!

Second Bride Down is the second installment of an adorable story about three sisters determined to save their family business at any cost all while trying to find and help themselves at the same time.

In this book we have Misty's story, imagine her surprise when she's already agreed to a marriage of convenience... well let's be honest, it was a business arrangement only to have a Marry Me Misty billboard pop up overnight in the middle of town.

As someone that has two sisters, I can relate to this in so many ways and it made it so much fun for me to read and think of how my sisters would handle everything that happens in this book.

This is a fun lighthearted story that will just make you smile and laugh more times than I can count. With trials and tests, these sisters will do whatever it takes to help each other end up with who they're supposed to and I loved it.

I loved watching Misty realize that Lucas was there for her in every way and would do anything to help her even if that meant a little game of pretend while trying to get her to understand his feelings without just coming out and telling her in the beginning.

While this is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone, after reading this one I'll be picking up the first one and hope to read the third soon, this little town in Maine and these sisters have drawn me into their cozy little corner of the world.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled for providing a copy of this book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fake Relationship
Friends to Lovers
Cozy, Small Town

If you’re looking for a fun, fast escapist read to small town New England Ms. Baird delivers just that. Her books are cozy, sweet romcoms that read like the equivalent of a feel good hallmark movie. I’ve tried a few from the author now and have found her to offer quick, charming reads with a HEA. The scenarios are hallmark-y in that they may seem a bit far fetched, but that’s what you’re signing up for the get away to the small town and simple, sweet romance.

I really enjoyed both our leads - Lucas especially, since I thought he was sweet. I loved the setting - I’m a sucker for small towns and Maine is one of my favorite New England locals. And of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that this book featured a go to favorite trope for me as well - fake relationship!

Great pick for a beach read or if you’re like me a cozy weekend morning read with a cup of cocoa. I look forward to trying more from this author in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read an early copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

If Misty and her sisters are going to save their family business one of them needs to marry the son of their parent’s former business partners. Since Misty has no prospects, she decides that she will make the sacrifice however her sister Charlotte isn’t about to let that happen. Instead, she now finds herself with suitors lining up to be with her until her friend Lucas intervenes.

Lucas’s feelings for Misty run deeper than friendship and he isn’t about to let some other man swoop in and claim the woman he wants. He now has everyone convinced that they have been dating and with the help of her sisters he may be able to convince Misty as well.

I enjoyed seeing the evolution of Misty and Lucas’s relationship as they prove that they are destined to be so much more than friends. The situations they find themselves in are both fun and romantic and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the remaining single sister.

This started off kind of cute despite the contrived premise. I liked how Lucas had always pined for Misty, and how they fell into a fake relationship situation. However, we got no fake relationship because the couple essentially tells EVERYONE that they're faking it. Lol. For all the supposed one-sided pining Lucas is supposed to suffer, there's so little sexual and emotional tension between him and Misty.

Misty is also pretty self-centred. I was annoyed by the whole premise involving her bet with her sisters. I wish there was less focus on the mechanics of the premise and more time spent on the Misty and Lucas' relationship.

Towards the end, everything fell into place a little too perfectly for my liking. I was bored and was more interested in Charlotte's story than the actual one I'm reading.

This book felt a little like a trope soup. Friends-to-lovers, fake dating, unrequited love, marriage bet, (possible) arranged marriage. It felt like it was trying so hard to be so many things that it failed to do any one thing exceptionally well.
Misty's family is on the verge of losing their coffee shop business as a balloon payment comes due following the betrayal of their old business partner. A reconnection with said partner leads the meddling mothers to decree that loans will be forgiven if Misty or one of her siblings marries their son. Unfortunately, based on their childhood memories, the son is nothing to be desired and none of the three girls wants anything to do with him. The sisters set a deadline that the last one to find love by the time the debt comes due, that sister will be the one to get married and save their business and family home.
Second Bride Down is book two in the series. The first sister has already miraculously found love and is out of the running, leaving just Misty and Charlotte to somehow fall in love in the next three or face marriage and a move to London where the ex-partner's family now lives. After Misty announces she's going to forfeit the contest and marry Aiden (the unfortunate son), Charlotte puts up a billboard on the highway into town announcing Misty's husband hunt. As men start lining up outside the coffee shop, Misty takes desperate measures.
Enter Lucas, the life-long best friend who's been in love with Misty for as long as he's known her. His unnamed, unrequited pining was pretty well-known to everyone around them but Misty was completely unable to see it until the moment he offers to stand in as her boyfriend to help discourage and turn away the hoard of unwanted suitors. The pair are sent on a scavenger hunt of "True Love" challenges created by her sisters, something meant to speed up the natural relationship progression. While Misty and Lucas have a picnic on the beach and take a bike ride to the lighthouse, Charlotte is racing against them with one of the rejected billboard boys. The first to complete the list wins and the loser flies off to England.
The whole thing from the premise of an arranged marriage to the rapid switch from Lucas being her buddy to someone she sees sexually didn't work for me. If the old business partners wanted to make amends, forcing their children into an unwanted union is a really crappy way of going about it. The fact that they haven't seen or spoken to each other since children really adds to the ridiculousness. A part of me feels like the whole book is meant as a transition from when the bet begins in book one and the payoff of Charlotte meeting and falling for the apparently odious son in book three. While the writing was good and the pacing moved well enough to keep me going, this book really just did not do it for me. Though a part of me really wants to read Charlotte's book, just to see if I'm right. In that regard, the author did a great job because I'm reluctantly invested in the marriage nonsense.

I received and ARC of this book.

Misty is in a race against her sisters to get engaged so they don't have to marry the son of their family's rivals. One sister has already won the race, so Misty is starting to get desperate-- until she gives up and decides to just take one for the team and marry the guy. It's only for five years, after all. But Charlotte, the other sister still in the running, won't accept her forfeit and takes out a giant billboard ad advertising Misty's need for a husband.
In the face of all the men who show up-- Misty's exes, other men from around town, and strangers who saw the billboard on the highway and decided to come shoot their shot-- her longtime friend Lucas steps in and pretends to date her. It's totally just to save her from these men, and not because he's been in love with her since high school...
Second Bride Down is a sweet friends to lovers fake relationship that turns very real over the course of a week. Lucas and Misty are definitely meant for each other, and their interactions throughout the book are incredibly sweet. Lucas is the perfect guy, and there's a lot more to Misty than meets the eye-- she's got a few secrets she's keeping for no reason other than wanting something that's only her own.

There are a ton of both sweet and funny moments throughout the book, though at times Misty's inner monologue about falling for Lucas got a little repetitive.
Toward the end of the book, Misty finds out she's been accepted into her dream design school, and is offered the scholarship that'll make it possible for her to go. But she tries to turn it down, because she can't stand the thought of leaving Lucas (who at this point she's only had feelings for for a few days). He shows up to surprise her and ends up talking her into enrolling in the program, but her willingness to give up her lifelong dream for a guy she's just barely started dating definitely lost me at the end.

Overall, though the ending did bother me enough to drop a star, I liked this book as much as the first one in the series (maybe even more), and I absolutely cannot wait to read Charlotte's story-- I have a feeling it'll be my favorite of them all.

I gave this book 4 stars. It was just so good.

I want to say thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital ARC for an unbiased opinion and review.

I read this book so fast. Even though I am doing school right now I was able to finish this book in two days because I just couldn't stop.
It was funny, cute and just overall heartwarming.
I love Misty and Lucas together. I love how much they are willing to do for each other even willing to sacrifice something that really matters to them for the other person. Lucas was always looking out for her and supporting in everything.
I just want to say that I don't think friends to lovers is my thing. While I do enjoy it, I like it better when it is enemies to lovers or when it is friends to lovers where both individuals have feelings for each other. I really don't like one sided love. Lucas clearly liked Misty for a while which was evident in book one and in this book. But I loved how their relationship progressed. I love how Lucas never forced her to do anything she didn't want to do. And they just worked perfectly. Lucas was always so understanding. He's honestly just amazing.
One of my favorite scenes was when Lucas
Also another one of my favorite scenes was at the end when both of them
Something that I knew when I got to 65% of the book was that Charlotte was
I seriously cannot wait for Charlotte's story. I want to read it so bad. I just thought that it would be cool if Aidan would come and they didn't recognize him because they are expecting a guy who is not good looking since there are no pictures of him online. But then Charlotte likes him and then realizes that he is Aidan or something like that. And then it could just roll from there.

SECOND BRIDE DOWN is a charming friends-to-lovers and fake dating romance. In a continuation series, this follows 3 sisters who have a bet to save their family's business. Whoever is not engaged by the end of the month will have to marry the son of their parents' former business associates, which will combine the companies and save their share. Misty is without prospects and ready to fly to London to take the marriage. Her sisters are not ready to let her give up, and they decide to take matters into their own hands, putting her up on a billboard to seek out proposals.

Thinking fast on his feet, Lucas decides to take his chance. He has always had a crush on Misty, but they have remained firmly friends. Given the opportunity, he steps in to pretend that they have been secretly dating. To help speed them along, the sisters decide to give Misty and Lucas some alone time and have a list of activities that they are to accomplish. As their time together continues, Lucas and Misty really get to know each other and a new relationship begins to grow.

This is a slow-building romance with some great tropes around fake dating and friends-to-lovers. Lucas and Misty have a good foundation of friendship, but Misty has always valued Lucas as a friend too much to consider more- until she spends more time with him and begins to realize what could be. The activities list was a fun way to get them into romantic situations and there are definitely some great moments of swoon as they accomplish them.

While this is a second book, it could be read on its own, though the book includes some information about Nell from the first and leads into the next for the final sister. Overall, SECOND BRIDE DOWN is a charming and fun slow-building romance read with a really great use of tropes. Please note that I received an eARC. All opinions are my own.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm a total sucker for marriage of convenience stories and this series seemed right up my alley. I read its predecessor, First Bride to Fall, beforehand to better understand Second Bride Down. I'm glad I made this decision because I was sorely disappointed with the sequel. Nell's bubbly love story was so infectious and I expected the brightness to follow into the next book. Unfortunately, Misty and Lucas' relationship felt awkward and disjointed. I hate to say it, but a closed door romance without any chemistry is the kiss of death. There were plenty of elements present for this book to succeed like a bridal bet, forced proximity, and secret pining but Misty ended up nearly sabotaging her own happy ending.

My favorite person in this entire book was our love hero, Luke. He carried the perfect torch in the Friends to Lovers trope that is so often underutilized. In this particular dynamic, the amount of romantic interest felt unequally yoked. Luke was already completely devoted to Misty and she was too blind to see his dedication to her. It was a little aggravating to see our heroine totally oblivious to the heart eyes affixed to Luke's dreamy face. It took a very long time for the romantic shoe to drop and I was over it. It certainly didn't help either that Luke was doing all the heavy lifting trying to transition their relationship from fake to reality. She was more willing to agree on a bridal bet with a stranger over one who was already 100% invested in her happiness right in front of her wee face.

I'm always honored to receive advanced copies, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll continue with the Majestic Maine series. I have a theory that the last sister Charlotte will actually fulfill the bridal contract and fall in love with the intended mystery groom. I haven't made my final decision yet, but hopefully it aligns more with Nell's happy ending rather than Misty. I also believe I've grown too impatient for closed door romances and I want to dive straight into the hanky panky. I have plenty of room in my heart for slow and steady, but I was feeling too greedy this month. Thanks to Entangled Publishing for this spectacular opportunity and I'll do my best to support this lovely small publishing house. We had First Bride to Fall and Second Bride Down, who knows what's in store for Bride #3?

Set in small town Maine with three sisters and a bridal bet engineered to save their family’s coffeeshop, Second Bride Down has the makings of a sweet and charming Hallmark Movie.

Nell, Charlotte, and Misty have agreed that whichever sister is not engaged by the end of September will enter into a marriage of convenience with the son of her family’s onetime partners—now enemies—overseas. Nell found her true love in the first book, and this one centers around Misty’s story.

Misty feels like she should give up on the bet and go ahead and marry the enemies’ son, but her sisters doubt that she is making the right choice. They decide to force her hand and make her see out the end of the bet. And, well, it turns out they were right.

In attempt to outmaneuver her sisters, Misty begins fake dating her co-worker and longtime friend, Lucas.

This one is good for fans of the friends to lovers, fake dating, he falls first, longtime pining, and forced proximity tropes with an added romance bucket list twist. It also is tailored for fans of kissing only scenes on page.

Lucas truly is a sweetheart. He sees his chance to finally gain Misty’s attention but refuses to push. He treats her with respect and care throughout the book and showers her with thoughtful gifts, gestures, and attention.

Misty’s lightbulb moments of falling in love with her friend were a bit less believable for me, and her thoughts on the bridal bet, her family’s situation, whether or not she should date Lucas, and her prospects with art school became repetitive.

Again, this would make a sweet Hallmark movie with the sisters’ antics and the romantic beats of the bucket list, but as a book, it went a little long for the short timeframe covered by the plot.

I received an advance copy of the book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.

It's never a good sign when the first feeling after finishing a book is relief. This was reasonably cute but if I hadn't had a review copy I would have DNF'd early on. The writing and romance aren't particularly special or memorable so this just didn't keep me interested and there were a few things that really irritated me.

The basic premise of this book is that to save their family business one of three sisters will marry a rich estranged family friend. However despite wanting to save their business neither sister wants to marry Aiden, instead they make a bet: whoever hasn't found love in 30 days will marry him. This was handled badly. Instead of focusing on finding someone Misty genuinely loves she is fixated on winning the bet and on beating Charlotte - which completely misses the point of the bet and left a bad taste in my mouth for how the sisters treated each other.

They also created a list of things to do with the person they are dating to help them establish their compatability and fall in love. Once again the focus was on completing the list before one other (winning again) and not actually doing the things for their intended purpose.

On top of all of this the timeline in this book is completely ridiculous (I'm not even sure if we made it a full week?).

Although this was much better than the first book this still sadly completely missed the mark for me and I won't be continuing on with the series.

Second Bride Down is the second book in Ginny Baird’s Majestic, Maine series. Sisters Nell, Charlotte, and Misty Delaney are presented with a dilemma. In order to salvage the family business, Bearberry Brews, their parents home, and set the family up financially, it has been put forth that if one of the girls will agree to marry the son of the man who had been their father’s business partner until he swindled the Delaney’s out of millions of dollars the family will be set. They will be able to own half the company and pay off all their debt if the stipulations of the in name only marriage are met. It must last five years and it doesn’t matter which girl Aidan Strong marries.

In book one of the series eldest sister Nell finds her perfect match. In the second book, baby sister Misty is the focal character. When Misty announces she will bite the bullet and take on the marriage, her sisters revolt. Middle sister Charlotte creates a billboard campaign to find a local love for Misty. But upon seeing the billboard and the fuss it creates, Lucas Reyes, who has worked at the coffee company since his early teens, takes charge to protect Misty from the billboard fallout.

However, Lucas has carried a torch for Misty for years but has yet to leave the friend zone. Perhaps the next week, when he will be staying with Misty, will change that status. And Misty might just find her match as well.

This is as delightful of a story as the first book in the series and I look forward to book three. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Welcome to Majestic Maine. where we have three sisters, and one of them has to marry Aidan, a complete stranger to save their family business and time is running out. The sisters made a bet that the one who did not find her one true love by the end of the month, will be the one to marry him. Misty announces that she will take the fall and marry him and will spend the next five years with him so that they will get to keep their family business. How bad could it be? When the sisters intervene to help Misty find true love, everything goes sideways. Lucas who works for the family and has always adored Misty thinks this is the worst thing she could do and vows to change her mind. He must take his chance to show her how much he cares before she runs off to marry a stranger. Can Lucas convince Misty they are meant to be?

Oh, my goodness this novel by Ginny Baird was simply fabulous. In the first book of the series, First Bride to Fall we read Nell’s story and with this second installment we get to read Misty’s story. I laughed and I cried right along with all the different characters throughout the story. The three sisters are so unique and well written that you cannot help but fall in love with them and their parents. Entangled Publishing so graciously gifted me this book, and I read and reviewed it voluntarily. I cannot wait to read Charlotte’s story as she is the last sister who has not found true love….yet!

The is the second book in the series about a trio of sisters who must find someone to marry before the end of the month, or marry a millionaire, Aiden. I know, sounds horrid, doesn't it? Only thing is, all they know about the millionaire, is nothing other than he has offered to get their parents out of their financial problems. There are no pictures of him online. There is nothing about him.

In this book, the middle sister, Misty, figures she might as well marry, Aiden, and is just getting ready to agree and fly to London, when her sister puts up a billboard with her picture on it, and asks people to marry her.

To get out of marrying any of these random people who show up at her parent's coffee shop to propose to her, she says that she is already dating Lucas, a life-long friend and coworker.

So, the whole book is the slow burn of the friends to lovers, even though Lucas is already quite on board to be a lover from the get-go.

Light kissing, and word play, and nothing terribly tragic, though we don't know what will happen in the third book, to the third sister.

I guess we just have to wait for that one.

Heart-warming romance between forever friends
The sisters: Nell, Charlotte and Misty Delaney have a wager: find their forever lover/husband before being forced to marry Aiden Strong, the son of their family’s archenemy and former friend. John Strong has died allowing his wife to reconcile with their good friends, the Delaneys. Misty’s mother and Mrs. Strong devise a plan which spawns the sisters’ project “Avoid Marriage to Aiden Strong.” In the first book in this series Nell finds her forever lover/fiancé in Grant who was her long-time crush. In this book 26yo Misty announces that she’s going to fall on the sword and marry Aiden, but Lucas has another idea. He’s had a crush on Misty for as long as he’s helped out at Bearberry Brews, which is a long time. He started there when he was only 14yo; he is now 27yo!
Although there is no steam in this story, there is romance. Lucas tries so hard to make Misty see him as her future. Lovely story but there will be one significant obstacle. Can their new-found affection handle it? Now I’m looking forward to Charlotte’s story. If you like low angst and steam but a really sweet romance, try this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through Entangled/NetGalley.

The sisters are at it again.
Misty has decided that because Nell is now engaged she'll that her place and marry the guy from the rival family.
But imagine her surprise when she sees herself on a billboard that says, "Will you marry me? Misty."
When she confronts her sisters she learns the billboard is courtesy of Charlotte, who wants her to have options before going off to marry the enemy. What she doesn't expect is the crowd of men waiting for the cafe to open. Dreading having to deal with all this she tries to make up any excuse to get out of this. Thankfully, Lucas comes to her rescue to tell them that they're dating.
He's secretly been in love with her and now is his chance to get her to see him in a different light.
Thankfully they both have the week off to spend time together and a list her sisters have compiled of things for them to complete.

This is the second book in a series and can be read as a standalone. Perfect if you're looking for something lighthearted, silly, and clean. If you have sisters you'll definitely enjoy and relate to the girls' meddlesome ways.

Thank you so much to the author, Entangled and NetGalley for this ARC to review.

The Delaney sisters would do anything for their parents, so they don't lose the house or the family business. And when the solution comes in the form of a five-year marriage of convenience, they have to decide which of them is going to be chosen one
.
Three sisters and a groom waiting at the end of the altar for whoever loses the bet of finding their true love in one month
.
With the oldest of the three engaged, only Charlotte and Misty remain in competition. The two most competitive of the family, but when the story reaches everywhere and the suitors for Misty begin to line up and chase her throughout the town Lucas Reyes, her lifelong friend and store manager declares that she is already with him taking her by surprise
.
Misty accepts his help pretending to be dating while she decides what to do with her life. But sharing so much time together and so much about them in a way that neither had been with anyone could bring new feelings
.
.
This second book is sweeter and more tender than the first, but it has all the magic of the small town in Maine that I wanted so badly to return to and I can't wait to see what happens with Charlotte
.
The Delaney sisters and all the characters in the town were amazing and really can't wait for the next book
.
.
.
Thanks to Ginny Baird and Entangled Publishing LLC for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest opinion

This family has issues. The dad was screwed by a business partner. When the partner died the moms got together and made a plan for their kids to marry. No one asked the kids. The daughters made a bet to marry so they did not have to marry that guy. In the first book one sister married (it feels like a very US thing to marry fast).

In this one Misty decides that she should take the bullet. Marry a guy for 5 years and save her family´s coffee place (maybe that place should just go under). But then she decides to be in a pretend relationship instead and we all know how those turn out. The guy, Luke has liked her for years. They pretend to go on dates and do all sorts of things.

And fall madly in love and live happily ever after. They had known each other for years, so taking that leap was plausible.

Cute romance with all happiness.

I liked the narrator, but one of the sister´s voice sounded so complaining. Not someone I would like to be friends with. I would rather have had them all sounds like then

Overall, it's an interesting story and I absolutely loved the characters but to be honest, it's not as good as book one was. I guess the novelty of the plot no longer exists. It should have been expected though.
Three sisters desperate to find a love match within a month make a bet and the last one of them would have to accept an arranged marriage. One of them has already found love and is happily engaged. Now it's Misty's turn but she seems to have exhausted all the possible candidates. Strange how she never even considered Lucas, who has been working with them for years and always has been a good friend to Misty. Thanks to Charlotte's intervention, she must pretend to be in a relationship with Lucas. And well, we know all the possibilities of that situation.
For a lighthearted and fun read, this is a good option. I recommend this to rom-com fans and I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

This is the second book in this series about three sisters who make a bet that whichever one of them isn't engaged or married by the end of the month would have to marry their parents' friends son, Aiden, inorder to ave their parents coffee shop. After Nell gets engaged to Grant, Missy decides that she will go to London and marry Aiden. The sisters take out a billboard advertisement to help Missy find true love.
Lucas has been in love with Misty since he first met her, and the billboard prompts him to take do something about it. Misty and Lukas decide to pretend to be in love and give Charlottes list a try to see if they are compatible.
Second Bride down was an ok read for me. It is a cute read about 2 friends and their journey as they become more. Lucas was a sweetheart, loved he supported Misty and her dreams.

A cute read !

In this second installment of the series, Misty Delaney decides she will be the one to marry Aiden Strong and move to London to save her parents’ coffee shop. Lucas Reyes, their store manager has other ideas and proposes a fake dating scheme to gain Misty more time to make this big decision. If she happens to fall in love with him along the way, he won’t complain because he’s been in love with her since middle school.

A friends to lovers, sweet, romantic comedy, Second Bride Down hits all the right notes. Misty and Lucas make an adorable couple, and have you cheering them to love from the first pages. It does require some backstory, being the second book, but the author provides it and you don’t feel like you’ve missed out on anything, so you can read as a stand alone. But what’s the fun in that? I’d recommend reading the first book, because I loved that one, too. I’m eagerly anticipating the third and final book to see how it’s all wrapped up!

Misty, Charlotte and Nell, three sisters, have made a pact to save their family business: the sister that has not found love by the end of the month has to marry Aidan, the son of their parent's former business associates to create a merger. Nell has found love within a week, but Misty is resigned and ready to take one for the team. But Charlotte will not take it and does something that will propel Misty in her best friend's, Lucas, arms.
This fake dating, friends to lovers romance is the second book in the Majestic Maine series, and although I loved the first book (and I even loved it better than this one), you don't need to read it to understand this one. The plot was fun, the pace was fast, and I loved both MCs. It's a fun, sweet, small town story.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
