Some wounds never surface on the body. Instead, they’re rooted in the minds of individuals who’ve survived the most traumatic experiences.
Worth, Omir, and Ju endured a troublesome upbringing. What’s normal behavior to most people, is foreign to them. Now that they’re entering into manhood, they are forced to navigate through life while carrying the burden of being damaged.
Three different men, in three different stages in their lives brings an awakening that no one could foreshadow. Situations change, new people are ushered into their world, and some are prepared to depart. The Ali men prove that love and trauma don’t mix.
Come into the minds of broken, little boys who’re trying their best to step into the roles of grown men.
Oh my lanta! I can always count on Charae to keep my heart pounding the whole book. This book started out with a bang and did not let up! I was so interested in seeing how the wedding crash would play out but it turns out that was only the beginning! Worth, Omir, and Ju are all different but it’s like they are all hurting. They’ve dealt with a traumatic upbringing and their past is continuing to impact their adult / current lives. I am eager to see how things play out because the ending had me too stunned to speak.. wow!
I don't even know where to begin but I’ll say this book was nothing but the TRUTH. As I go over this masterpiece I draw comparisons to one of a Lotus Flower. The Lotus has characteristics of a perfect analogy that I felt when reading this story. Even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.
That's what this story is Worth, Omir, and Ju have had an traumatic childhood and now their left trying to navigate through life and developing relationships. Those flashbacks were hard to read but they definitely help you to understand these beautifully scared Ali clan. I'm definitely praying for Karin, Sada, and Bellamy because unfortunately they are about to bare the burnt of these men trauma. Especially Karin, Worth is a lot to deal with and he is for sure selfish when it comes to what he wants but as Karin I see glimpses of his goodness but having said that brother man gotta long road to being ready to be someone's husband and father. When he made that comment for his reasons for wanting to be a father so it could help with his demons. My heart just ached for him because that is not the way and reason to bring a child into the word. I'm low-key glad Karins secret came out so that they can work on themselves before trying to be in a relationship. I also have this sneaky feeling Karin dad is the reason why her brother let the cat out the bag. I sense a reckoning with her family.
Now Ju and Sada are just cute but that bomb at the end had me like nooooooooooooo 'NOT THE BABY DADDY'. Looking forward to seeing how Charae gets that together. I know its going to have me at the edge of my seat.
Omir and Bellamy to me have the sweetest relationship out of the other couples but I know there is going to be some mess cause that's how Charae like to do us.
Saying all that I 100% recommended this. If you've read the 'On Us' series by Nina am confident you'll enjoy this just as much. I may be new to this author but I don't need a whole catalog of works to understand Charae has skills with that pen game. Don't miss out and give this book a try.
“We gotta find something that makes you happy, Omir Ali.”
“End of Time” by Charae Lewis transports readers back to Diamond Falls. This time, we’re following the Ali brothers. Omir Ali is the oldest. He is the protector of the three. He also doesn’t believe in love.
Worth Ali is impulsive. After being MIA for over a year, he comes back into town just in time to stop his girlfriend’s wedding to another man. With Worth being gone, Karin had no choice but to move on. Now that he’s back will she make it down the aisle or will they reunite?
Ju Ali is the youngest of the three. Even so, he has his eyes set on an older woman. Sada is a single mother just trying to make it. She is very hesitant to even entertain Ju. Will giving him a chance open her eyes to new possibilities?
“End of Time” begins with a short warning from the author. “They are traumatized. They are broken. They are in pain…” This was definitely true. The three of them have experienced childhood trauma and now, as adults, they carry that weight with them while navigating life and love. I really enjoyed how all three of these characters had a different voice. Although they all experienced the same upbringing, they still had their differences.
The flashback scenes were hard to read at times but definitely necessary to really understand all that they have been through. This book was a rollercoaster full of twists, laughs, breakups, makeups, and more. I was left with so many questions and I can’t wait to have them answered in the next installment(s).
OMG🤯🤯!!! This book has me turned upside down!!! I’m not going to even front I finished all 325 in one day. I’m in love with every character in this book (except Randi and Torreon🙄) Bellamy and Omir are everything and I can’t wait to read more about them. Worth and Karin are the best kind of toxic that I’ve ever seen but idk if Worth can forgive what she’s done. Now let’s get into Ju and Sada because that ending has me FLOORED!!!! Mouth wide open 😮….. and I’m really feeling like this whole thing is some how tied to Worth and the reason he had to dip. I cannot wait for book 2 😩😩
This book was so predictable and very repetitive. No real excitement was in the book and nothing really wowed me. Bellamy was my fav out of the entire book. Ju was ok too but Worth and Karin were the worst honestly, their connection wasn’t love just two people co dependent on one another. Omir character didn’t really go in depth for me to give anything on him. The only thing good about this book was the editing. It’s a second part and I might pass on it.
I couldn't get my head around the way they talked and this whole thing of every woman is a bitch or a hoe. I get that they live in the hood but it just wasn't a book for me
Wow. What a book. So many thoughts that I don't even know how to put into words.
Author's writing review: Excellent writing by the author. Story was clear, little to no grammatical errors, no confusion on my end. All characters had very distinctive personalities so it was easy to differentiate who we were hearing and it did not feel like all the MMCs were the "same character, different fonts".
Story review: WOWWW!!! That plot twist tho? Okay, but seriously. It is so interesting to see in books how the childhood trauma truly effects the romantic (and even familial) relationships of men. I fear this is something we see everyday with men, but they also never have the voice to admit that their childhood could be the cause.
Omir + Bellamy, I am rooting for you. I feel like if/when Omir lets Bella in, they will be unstoppable together. I also feel like if/when Bella stops waiting for the other shoe to drop with Omir (regarding him looking down on her because of her disability), they will be unstoppable together!!
Worth + Karin, I think it's best to know when to wrap it up. Sometimes we love each other too much, and I feel like now is one of those times with these two. Worth is entirely too dependent on Karin for comfort and sanity (since he cannot even sleep without her). And Karin, although she knows she loves Worth, cannot accept that love because deep down she feels the same way about Worth as her parents do.
Ju + Sada, how do we recover from here? I don't know if we can. They started as one of my favorite couples, but Ju's immaturity and lack of self-control in environments in spaces where Sada's baby is present is unforgivable but possibly fixable. But, what he did to Sada's first love? I'm unsure how the couple can work through that. How will Ju explain to baby boy that he is responsible for the loss of his father?
To sum it all it, go to therapy and heal yourself. Can't wait to get into book 2!
Trauma is so taboo in the black community its sad to say. Being this way has caused many people not to see help when its much needed. These men are a Prime example of that. My heart actually hurts for the brokenness they're enduring and the crying out they're doing. Only therapy will help this depth of hurt. I'm going to patiently wait for part 2 because I need to sit on part 1. Great job as usually Mrs. Charae!!
From beginning to the end this story was so intriguing!!! Plot after plot, flashback after flashback, mental breakdowns, insecurities, confusion, motivation, love, jokes, second guessing, heartbreak just WOW!!!! I love the unveiling of each character. I don’t want to give anything away so just know this story was GOODT. Im so ready for part two because the TEA is HOT ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
This was my first book by Miss Lewis and it did not disappoint. I immediately came to do my review so I can move onto to book 2. 😂 that ending was crazy. I’m so glad I found this when it was already all the way release because I don’t think I could have waited for two I would be losing my mind. 😂 plot twist be definitely twisting. Found me another auto by Author.
You serious right now? Jesus, help me. I cannot believe you ended this book like this. I wanna cry so bad right now. Definitely a fiyah read. But pleaseeee… I need part 2 like yesterday. And I need Karin to get it together before I step in and snatch Worth. OK. I’m done.
That ending was definitely unexpected and has me on pins and needles, waiting for book two. This well written, attention grabbing book was really good and emotional at times. I hated the things that Omar, Worth and Ju went through at the hands of Randi and would love to find out what exactly happened to her. Worth and Karin’s relationship was toxic as heck. Definitely worth reading.
Well, well, well what in the world is really going on? I think Omir and Bellamy are my favorite!! Worth is crazy but ole girl need to get her head out the clouds cause she treats him like he ain’t good enough too. I think he might be done. Sada got her hands full but I’m ready for it
Im beyond anxious to see how this plays out! I love all 3 men in their own way and can see how these women have fallen for them in spite of their trauma. Can't wait for the next part! Great job 👏
WTFFFFFF….this book had me from jump! Part two me neowww. Karin and Worth are soooo toxic for each other. Worth, Omir, and Ju’s problems are deeply rooted from their childhood and it’s affecting their adulthood. This was a great ass read! 🥰
I don’t kno how to feel about Sada like u sexed your bd’s brother?? N who killed the bd?? Omg I don’t kno if I like Karin like she constantly saying how Worth is a bad boyfriend n all that like some stuff can’t be taken back.
I want to start by saying that I loved the plots. I’m always interested in trauma regarding men because we don’t have enough content in the book world that addresses this subject matter. It was just very hard for me to connect that with my emotions. As I read I was discontented with not being able to correlate their trauma with their chosen love interests and there being no growth. Worth was a narcissist of all narcissist and it was hard for me to understand his love with Karin. It was hard for me to see him as anything other than a manipulator who didn’t deserve her. Omir has me intrigued but I wanted to delve into his mind more. Bellamy is good for him and also the best character in the book. Ju was my second runner up but I expect to see more of his trauma displayed in his characteristics. It was written good as there weren’t any grammatical errors. I will read part two because I want to see how this spins around.
This book had my attention from beginning to end. Very well written, great storyline and character development. Worth, Omir and Ju have been so traumatized as children that its hard for them to let people get close. I hope at some point they seek the help they desperately need. Worth and Karin were very draining but Karin isn't innocent either. She expects Worth to change her ways but she's also not sure where she wants to be herself when it comes to her relationship with Worth. I do like Bellamy and Omir together. I believe she will be the one to get Omir to open up and express his feelings. Although Ju and Sada are taking things slow, Imhad my suspensions about the secret connection and the revelation is sure to cause all kinds of drama. The author definitely knows how to reel you in with a story and when you least expect it, your jaw drops at what you didnt see coming. Cant wait to read how part 2 will end for these characters.
WOW!! While this story started out with drama .. I was waiting on the turning point and the end of book 1 definitely delivered some bombs! This story includes alot of trauma with all 3 MMCs. Karin and Worth relationship is based on codependency. It’s very toxic but it’s not all on Worth. Karin seeks too much validation from her parents who seem to have their own issues. Omir and Bellamy have great potential and they’re the most intriguing couple. Will Omir let her in to really get to know him and possibly build a relationship is the question. Ju and Sada were cool until the secret at the end was revealed. Where does that leave Sada and Ju’s relationship? Whats the back story to Tory’s death? I am curious enough to continue to series with hopes that somewhere within the next installment, one of these main characters go lay on somebody couch and talk to a therapist. Their mother/aunt seems to have done a number on them.
This writer is surely becoming one of my faves. She’s consistent with the pen. And while this story has a sad backstory. She managed to make it an enjoyable escape from the everyday. There were quite a few moments that I laughed and some where I just sat dumbfounded. As a mother to a son. I know that we are their first loves and they pretty much form their impression of women from us. So the flashbacks pissed me off entirely! But, I guess that is what a good story will do. Mess with your emotions. I will say out of all the boys, I am most intrigued by Omir. His relationship with Bells is different due to her having a disability. I’ve never come across that specific subject matter before in Urban fiction until now. So, I am quite curious how they will pan put. All in all I am stoked for the next installment! Great Job
This was a great read and I can’t wait for book 2 😍 Worth & Karin … these two were, whew! Worth obviously had his ish about him but I feel like Karin kind of made it worse. It seemed like she expected him to excuse all of her actions because of his one (most recent) action. Ju & Sada … 😬 the back and forth seemed to stem from Ju’s need for what he missed and Sada’s need for an outlet. The bomb that was dropped at the end has me nervous because feelings are involved but I’m ready to see how it’ll play out. Omir & Bellamy … now these two were, in my opinion, were like the calm to everyone’s crazy lol. I absolutely loved who Omir turned into when in the presence of Bells. I loved the dynamic building between them. I’m looking forward to this couple the most in book 2. I would highly recommend this book. Happy reading 💖
See, Karin's parents got their wish. All because Jonathan told Worth about her abortion. Her mama is messy, but she got to let her learn on her own and Worth already knew. That's why her parents doesn't like him. Sada was surprised by that relevation. That would make sense now. Randi was torturing, tormenting, bullying, and sexually abusing Worth. I'm surprised they didn't kill her. Omir has met his match with Bellamy. Darla keeps ignoring the fact Zyari called her daughter all types of names. I don't care if it was her fault for breaking up the wedding. The heart wants the heart wants. Karin needs to put on her big girl panties and stand up to her parents. Ju got some explaining to do and so does Karin. Those three need some extensive therapy.
Childhood abuse are the most traumatic things that young black boys face and they all react towards the trauma differently once they are grown.
Omir, Ju and Worth all experienced abuse from the same person but were abused differently. I’m glad after everything they had each other and are close.
FYI —- I liked all the brothers, but it was something about Worth that I liked he’s really misunderstood and I see underneath all that hard exterior.
Karin is something else and is trying to please her parents who have their own secrets. Bellamy is my favorite she don’t take no shit and Sada I’m still on the fence about.
This book was everything didn’t want to put it down….Lawd the ending had a lot of secrets coming out and I just need part 2 ASAP
When the beginning had me shoook. I knew I was in for a treat. This book definitely took me on a journey. All 3 men are broken but on the inside they each have a heart. Worth was a hot head but he gone get it done by any means. He’s funny asf. Ju is young but he got a good head on his shoulders for him to be his age. Omir is the sweet heart out of the bunch. It’s giving BDE. They all are traumatized and in need of some therapy maybe that will help them move forward. Beautiful story but it comes with pain. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for this trio. Definitely a 5 star read. 🤩🌟📖
The things these guys went through was sad. Now, neither one of them know how to properly deal with it. Worth is toxic but I like him. Ju, said don't let my age fool you, and I'm here for it. Omir is still kind of a mystery to me. As far as the women, I love Bellamy because shes unapologetic and doesn't let her disability stop her. Sada, I'm still on the fence about her. Karin irked me, I don't like she wasn't taking responsibility for actions, even though Worth was wrong as well. Can't wait to read part 2
I’m so confused. Karin left her wedding to “calm” her raging ex. As the future husband he had every right to be pissed. I can’t even be mad he called her out her name. What boggles tf outta me is Karin being pissed at him for calling her out her name when her ex showed up doing the EXACT same ish. IN FRONT of her family and guest. So was for her to feel all offended her fiancé did the same…girl bye. I’m taking a break and will maybe continue this and update my review. 2 stars for great dialogue flow.
Karin and Sada are stressing me out!!! Omg more so Karin bc she can shut up all wishy washy girl sit down and figure out why you feel like you owe your life to your parents and Sada trying to son Ju and then wanting him to just bow down ain't it. Her BD brother was creepy from the start and she can't be mad at her Auntie nobody wants to keep a kid 6 days a week that is not theirs. Now Worth did over react about the baby cause he should have been snapped. Omir and Bells are cute I love them!
Who would have known that all this time Ju was the person who took Tory away from Sada. What will become of this situation. This right there is a hard pill to swallow. I can understand why Worth is mad when he finds out about what Karin did but if only her and Amor knew how did her brother know as well hmmmm. Is Amor messing with her brother or something?? Will her and worth b able to fix things or will it be over for good? I am glad Omir finally found someone special but will he fully let Bellamy in especially after they special encounter? Can't wait to read part 2...
This book was well written and the flow was well: There are three stories going on. This is gang-gang and the sex is fire(but the story didn’t need it) ; it was just a plus to a good storyline. all three stories are exciting. This book is only a brief introduction into their lives. I needed more substance. This really leaves you hanging😏😩. Cliffhangers are never my favorite. Now the long wait🤬
