The General

Sex makes them stronger. We’re at war, and the Zolano warriors need women in their furs to enhance their fighting performance. They’re known for their skills in the battlefield and in the sheets, so it’s easy for them to get volunteering women who gladly rut them in the name of patriotism.

Then there’s me. I’m not there to have sex with alien warriors. I’m there to clean their dishes and laundry, straighten their sex-wrinkled sheets, and hope I don’t anger any of these beasts.

Of course nothing goes right. The General comes up to me, asking me to lift my skirt. I somehow avoid fainting, and stutter a “no.” He’s shocked. I’ve never seen this man shocked before. I’ve never seen him looking anything but bored or angry. There’s a dozen women here who wouldn’t dream of turning him down, but the General wants me— his quiet maid, the human with the plain body and the backbone to reject him.

This was really intriguing and unique. A whole different alien world with Joan being the only human. The plot was really interesting. I loved that The General was so smitten with Joan but still stern with everyone else. It was funny to read about them discovering the different dynamics. The interactions were great. The characters were really interesting. I might read another book by this author.

Uau, uaua, uaua!

No início não sabia como a autora iria fazer com que eu torcesse para o General, mas meninas, ela conseguiu!

Amo esse tipo de história. Construção lenta (mas não entediante), o General é um mostro com todos, mas menos com ela, com ela ele é um amor!!! (gritos e mais gritos).

O legal é que a autora não perdeu tempo com explicações elaboradas, já somos introduzidos ao cotidiano da nossa mocinha e vamos entendendo melhor conforme tudo vai se desenrolando.

Confesso que nossa mocinha tem uma personalidade um pouco chata. Ela se menospreza muito e por conta disso acaba rolando uns problemas que teriam sido evitados com um bom dialogo e doses de amor próprio. O fato dela ter uma perspectiva humana sobre como as coisas deveram ser em um planeta alienígena (com base nos costumes humanos que são considerado ideais) também é bom e problemático. Bom, pq ela acaba ajudando a arrumar questões que precisavam de uma atenção maior e problemática pq acaba afastando ela pois, ela entende que certas ações são "erradas" mas no contexto deles, não.

Mas de certeza,"O General" ganhou um lugar no pódio do meu coração!

Initially when I found this book on Lutionary/ Wattpad I initially thought that this was going to be a cringy read due to being published on those sites. Little did I know when I started reading the book out of curiosity how good it will be. And adding onto that, I can review it here on Goodreads too! The story as a hole is very well written and has plenty of 'spice' to keep anyone entertained. It's probably one of the first books I have read (along with a few others) by this author hon. And honestly, whenever I find a book from this author I make it a point to read their books. Reason being that it is just soooo good.

I don’t know why she didn’t put it on KU but then I realised that site was created by her and another author, I think she wanted the site, kind of like Wattpad, to expand and established, instead of making quick money on KU, probably 😘.

Give it a chance, this story much better than many alien stories I found on KU 👍

this was so easy to read lol a nice palette cleanser but i had to log into this random wattpad-esque website to read it which made it feel like fanfiction haha. smutty and very fast-paced, like, suddenly the general is obsessed with this random human lady. predictable of course and not amazing but popcorn for the brain until the new year starts
