DESSA IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

The side effects from the zombie-blocker meds have become too great to bear, and so Dessa and her friends must bring all the Project Polus children to a special government facility called Sanctuary to get them help.

But when rogue soldiers attack, the group is split. Now, in order to reach Sanctuary in time, Dessa and her companions must brave the dangers of almost a hundred miles of swampy river.

Unfortunately, zombies can swim.

I'm a voracious reader in many genres. I do sometimes judge a book by its cover art. Life is too short to spend time reading or reviewing bad books so you'll see my library, ratings, and reviews represent books I believe are worth sharing.

Time is running out for our heroine as she races to save her brother and the other kids. In a world where everyone has a hidden agenda, the only ones she can count on are her friends. But will they be enough to overcome the challenges in front of them?

This is book four of a series. It does okay as a standalone, but you will be missing quite a bit of background. This book covers the basics early on, but only that.

This is a zombie apocalypse story with a young protagonist. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed cast of characters. Besides our heroine, there is a solid cast of friends that support her in her quest and we get to know them all pretty well. The story moves at a fast pace, which is necessary for us to keep ahead of the zombies. Overall, it was another fun read with plenty of action and I look forward to seeing more.

Highly recommended.

I received an ARC from the author for review purposes.

Kobo EPub 3: DRM-Free; 1230005477258, 206 pages

After escaping the zombies - barely - Dessa's much reduced group returns to the survivors with the new meds, just in time to evacuate ahead of the military 'cleasing' group. Ultimately they gravel by river, just ahead of the surviving zombies floating downstream from Sacramento.

With an ending in sight the Project Polus childrn reach Sanctuary - but their reception is not as fulsome as might be expected...

Another superb installment in an adventure that consistently delivers complex characters, surprises, twists and turns, action and interesting settings. You can see the scenes unfolding as though you were there - including when your heart beats (and you read) just a little faster.

Great stuff! I'm anxious to read the next book and can't start soon enough.

An intriguing story that will keep you wondering what could possibly happen next. Helping the children get through their Zombie meds is important. I was completely wrapped up with the characters and how they get through this problem.

This is a cracking series, the action starts virtually straightaway and doesn’t let up up right through to the end. Dessas got her work cut out for her that’s for sure. One problem after another. Highly recommended.

What an exciting and adventurous series! I enjoyed this final book. I was on the edge of my seat and so anxious for Dessa and her friends to reach safety. (Personally I don't think Zombies should know how to swim! Ha!)

still fighting for survival

Friends, family and even enemies are standing and fighting together for survival. It seems every step forward is fraught with danger. Book 4 provides more than enough adrenaline to want more of this awesome series.

A Definite Page Turner

Another great installment for this series. I can totally see this happening if some virus were to take over. World governments would banish everyone infected and not help those in need of care.
