The next instalment of the Under Violet Suns series, a scorchingly hot sci fi, alien romance.*

Vordan-Pa is an expert interstellar pilot, with a ready grin and happy go lucky attitude. He is the last person that Lenora would be interested in, his chaos disrupting her well laid plans.

High-action Romantic Suspense w/Aliens

I really enjoyed this book. Plenty of kickbutt leads, cool battles, and missions. The romance is mixed within the plot, not overshadowing it. If I had to class the book I'd prob say a romantic thriller/suspense. The surprises and twists just keep coming lol.

This series details the start of a new colony, on a new and unexplored world, a joint venture between two completely diff species. One physically strong and the other mentally (empaths). Both species are matriarch led but the Verit males hope for a more equal future here. The Falosians have a shortage of males and the Verit have a shortage of females. The new colony is the only hope for both of their species to continue.

Finding alien tech and extremely valuable natural resources on their new planet, has both helped and hurt them. They do not have the security to defend these newfound riches from outsiders, and must hide their existence. Difficult to do when their planet has just begun setting up and outside spies have a lot of places to hide on it.

Furthur, political machinations within the colony are high as well. The fledgling colony is being hit from all sides. Yet their only hope of a future resides in prevailing through it all.

This book specifically, details multiple missions run by a Falosian female logistics officer and a Verit male pilot. The female used to be the leader of a criminal organisation, and her family still runs it. She ran away a long time ago but needs her old persona back for a mission to save the colony. They put together a crew to track down the spies responsible for the recent attacks. It leads them to many places they must battle their way out of, both mentally and physically. Including a romantic mating bond that forms between the duo on their missions.

It's intricate in plotting and facts, so I really wouldn't recommend reading out of order. You'll def miss something. Yet each book does feature a new couple and their HEA. Though this book seemed more of a HFN, as you don't get a look at their future, just that they'll be together come what may.

I'm a mood reader, that struggles to pay attention in long and serious books. These typically last somewhere around 250+pages, and upwards of 4 hours for me. So I broke up the series between shorter and less serious books.

I really enjoyed it that way and plan to continue the series. I hope the females stay lethal, and the males dominate yet doting. There's so many places for the series to go.

Due to some sailor language, spicy love scenes, and a mild torturing- I recommend for adults only. This book always had consent and didn't go to deep dark places. Read through KU. Happy reading fellow romance enthusiasts!

Wild fire is the third part of the adventures of Falosia females and Verit males in the newly created colony. At the beginning of reading, the author presents a summary of the events so far, so if someone has not read the previous books, they will be able to easily find their way to the plot, especially since each book tells the story of a different couple. Nevertheless, for a better understanding of the world created by the author and the political dependencies related to the creation of a new colony, I recommend reading in order.
This time the story takes place mainly outside the planet. Lenora, due to her unique abilities and contacts she acquired in her youth as the daughter of a leader of a criminal organization, receives a mission that will allow her to discover the identity of the colony saboteurs. As backup, the leaders assign her Vordan, an excellent pilot who was one of Verit's mercenaries before arriving at the colony.
I liked the character of Lenora. The woman in her youth was wild and uncontrollable. She quickly gained a reputation in the criminal underworld as Black Valkyrie. After abandoning criminal past, she turned her life 180 degrees. Nobody except the K’Dec Miral knew who she was before and it seemed to her that she finally had everything she needed. Her new life in the colony was quiet and orderly. Only sending her on a mission made her realize that if she wants to be really happy she has to accept her past and then she can start building the future.
This time, Vordan is more of a background / support for the heroine. Previous books got me used to equally well-developed male characters. Unfortunately, I missed it here, for which in my rating I am subtracting half a star. Nevertheless, Lenora and Vordan work well together and balance each other perfectly, although they started off on the wrong foot.
As always in this series, the book is full of action and unpredictable twists that will hold the reader's attention. The world outside the colony is also well created. I was drawn into the machinations of the criminal underworld. The main plot provides many answers, but at the same time brings new threats to the colony. I will definitely reach for the next part of the series. My rating for Wlid Fire is 4.5 stars.

Another good entry in this series. The writing is great, the chemistry between the main characters is great, and the sci fi world-building and adventure are fun! I will be reading the whole series and following the author for her future releases. Compared to other books in the genre, I think the sci fi aspects are stronger than most (better world-building, better narrative). This is much lighter on steam than many other sci fi romances - but light on steam doesn’t mean light on sexual tension and banter.

This series really would make a great tv series. It’s like Farscape meets The Expanse, meets Mission Impossible. The aliens are fantastic. In this book Ell, the main character, has a half sister. The parent they have in common is a gender fluid alien so Ell’s father is her sister’s mother… it made my brain mushy at first but the author does a good job of keeping everybody straight. I liked how much of a bad ass Ell is and how supportive her relationship is with her “fly boy”.

Absolutely love this series!
I'm totally loving this series by Rose Mackie. The world-building is top-notch. There is plenty of on the edge of your seat tension and action. I totally loved watching straight-laced Lenora let loose and rediscover her inner self. Somewhere along the way, she falls for the Verit flyboy, Vordan. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

My Favorite in the Series

I have enjoyed the two books before this one but this is my favorite so far. I adored this couple and all their adventures. Their banter with each other was often sexy and hilarious. They were the perfect match. Now that hey have discovered who their enemy is I can’t imagine how exciting future books might be.
