Love 'Em and Leaf 'Em

Rate this book
Love is in the air in Pebble Cove. Unfortunately, so is murder.

In her two years of seeing ghosts, Rosemary Woodmere has never encountered a spirit who has appeared so soon after they were murdered. But the ghost of Dominic Frost proves it's possible, and he immediately begs her to help find his killer.

Unfortunately, the local playboy has left behind a long list of scorned lovers, with ample motives to kill. Even dead, the spirit spends more time flirting than helping Rosemary with the case.

In contrast to Dominic's failed relationships, everyone in Rosemary's life seems to be coupling up. Her mom's wedding is fast approaching, Jolene's on vacation with her new beau, and even Callie has a promising date.

When Rosemary's search for Asher's killer leads her to his distant relative, the similarities between him and Asher are unmistakable, with one noticeable difference: he's not a ghost. But does Rosemary's heart already belong to someone else?

Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.

She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?

Her first cozy mystery series, Pepper Brooks, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. Eryn's newest series is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are great for readers who love a hint of paranormal with their mysteries. These books feature a tiny town tucked between craggy coastline and rocky shores with quirky characters of both the living and non-living variety. Look for new releases from all three of these series in 2022 as well as Eryn Scott's new cozy series.

I was thrilled to see there would be more books in Eryn Scott's Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery series. In this latest novel, the reader is taken back once again to the small and unusual town.Rosemary has gotten to know many of the residents, both those who are alive and the spirits that only she could see. She now has a partner for running her teahouse, Callie. Callie literally washed up from the seaside with amnesia. Callie can also interact with the local spirits.
Rosemary is busy with her business plus helping her mother get ready for a wedding. Her mother is marrying the town's police chief. Suddenly there is a new spirit that Callie and Rosemary encounter. Dominic has been killed with poison in his wine, but isn't sure who murdered him. Dominic has been quite the ladies man so there are lots of suspects. Of course, Rosemary have to investigate this case since they can see the other spirits which the police cannot.
Rosemary is still very close to Asher who has been stuck in this small town after being killed over 100 years. Some things regarding his death have been discovered, but not enough for him to move on. Rosemary loves him, but how can they have a future?
A new man comes to Pebble Cove named Riley. He resembles Asher since Riley is a related to him. Rosemary is attracted to him. Would she be betraying Asher by getting close to Riley?
Although the author brings up events from the past novels, the reader really needs to read this delightful cozy mystery series in order. You would really miss the character development and atmosphere of Pebble Cove if you didn't. In quirky Pebble Cove the previous mayor, who has passed on, and the current one are cats.
If you want something that is an easy, fun read you need to pick up LOVE 'EM AND LEAF 'EM if you had been a longtime reader of this series.I look forward to book #8 and others terrific tales by this talented author.

This was a paranormal cozy mystery.

I am a hopeless romantic, this story arc breaks my heart. There has to be a way for Rosie and Asher to be together without her having to pass on.

Rosemary is neck deep in ghosts in this book. She is approached by the ghost of Pebble Cove's resident playboy Dominic Frost to find his killer. Dominic is convinced one of his lady loves murdered him when he remembers seeing a person with long brown hair as he lay dying on the floor of his yacht. Rosie and Callie decide to let the police solve this mystery after she convinces police chief Clemenson to do a wellness check on Dominic after meeting his ghost. Once her mother tells her the chief may delay their honeymoon if the mystery is not solved before their wedding, Rosie goes all in to solve it. She and Callie interview all of the local women Dominic dated but they are removing suspects with no one else to look into when Rosie has an epiphany on who is the killer. Unexpected suspect, great ending!.

This book is part of the Pebble Beach Teahouse series. Although a series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. The series centers around Rosemary, her tea shop, and a great variety of characters, both alive and not, in this charming small town. This book has it all – murder (or is it?), love, attraction, family drama, and even a personal makeover. I have read every Pebble Beach book and enjoyed them all. There is always mystery, humor, and just the right number of paranormal experiences. I truly enjoy the author’s style of writing and highly recommend Love ‘Em and Leaf ‘Em.

I loved this penultimate book in the Pebble Cove series. So much happens to move the series' overarching mystery/storylines forward in addition to Rosemary solving the murder of Dominic, a man who lived on a boat in the marina.

I loved the progression of Rosemary and Asher's relationship. Their friendship has been such a wonderful part of the series. They genuinely care for one another and it was great seeing them grow even closer.

The mystery was well done and had just enough twists and turns to keep me guessing. Dominic also added a lot of humor to the story as a ladies man even when he's a ghost.

If you love books with some mystery, wonderful friendships, and a fun small town, I can't recommend this book and series enough!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

“Love'Em and Leaf'Em” is the seventh and second to last instalment in Eryn Scott’s “Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery” series, and revolves around the town’s teahouse owner (Rosemary Woodmere), who posses an undeniable gift to get caught in ghostly mysteries. The mix of quintessential nice small town and murder mystery is charming and amusing, as it is Asher, the ghost Rosemary originally ‘inherited’ with her grandmother Victorian house. The chemistry between Rosemary and Asher is undeniable and a never-ending source of entertainment, and not only when it comes to resolving mysteries 😉 In fact, Asher, despite being a ghost, and thus giving a paranormal flair to the series, is fully credible, even relatable and feels very real at most times.

After two years ‘on the job’ Rosemary has graduated from accidental murder solver to the town’s sleuth, at least when it comes to ghosts. But Dominic Frost, recently departed and already ‘knocking’ on Rosemary’s radar, is a class of its own. Dominic might be freshly dead, but he is surely not wasting any time in his quest to find his killer, which by definition means Rosemary has a new case in her hands, much to our delight. our delight. Not that she needed anymore in her plate, with her mother wedding down the corner and life looking positively bright. Still Dominic is adamant, a playboy by nature, whose list of scorned past lovers make Rosemary’s search for the killer that proverbial ‘search for a needle in a stack of needles’. Dominic himself, as adamant he appeared to find his killer, is a real flirt (as in life so in dead 😊), making Rosemary search very, very distracted…. Flirting ability seems to run in the family yes, it’s a clue, but it’s the only one you’ll get from me 😉

A well-written story, interesting, with enough twist and red-herrings to captivate the reader from start to finish, and with the added bonus of giving a very amusing insight into the small (non-really) sleepy coastal town. This is a cozy murder mystery with some paranormal elements and a pinch of romance series, that is the ideal companion for a relaxing evening lecture while sipping a nice cup of tea, or any other beverage of your choice, but tea surely comes to mind 😊.

Who Killed Dominic Frost ? . . .

When rich, handsome playboy Dominic Frost seeks out Rosemary Woodmere soon after his murder, he begs her to help find his killer. Being such a “successful” playboy, there are many unhappy lovers on the suspect list who might want him dead. If she can get him to stop flirting, can he help narrow down the list a bit?

It definitely seems that love is in the air as Rosemary is surrounded by relationships. Her mother’s wedding will be happening soon, Jolene and boyfriend are vacationing together, and good friend Callie has a date with Officer Owen Fischer. And Rosemary and Asher are obviously drawn to each other. But as she gets closer to helping him move on by finding his killer, many of us don’t want to see that happen, preferring some way of keeping the two of them together. So don’t miss the next book to see if wishes come true in this series.

Addictive read

I love this series so much.

With Rosie getting closer every book to finding out who Asher’s killer was and now with his real relative look alike Riley on the case you can feel it all coming to a close.

It wouldn’t be Pebble Cove without a murder and this one is unbelievable. There are more suspects than people in town it seems but sometimes the simple answers are the right ones.

Such an addictive read. I read in one go and as always I love the map included.

This was not as likeable to me as the past couple of books in the series. But I digress--it is cool I really don't want this series to end but I want to see how it ends!! I love these characters deeply and I can't wait to wrap it all up.

I love this book, as I did all the others in the series! Rosemary & Asher's friendship is wonderful to watch and I'll be sad when the series is over. Rosemary helped to solve this murder while for once not annoying the chief but getting closer to him. I was given an ARC and I'm voluntarily sharing my honest opinion. I recommend this book

So glad to be visiting with old friends in Pebble Cove but so sad to know that the series soon will be ending. Wonderful lead up to the conclusion and really looking forward to the next book because I have no idea where it's all leading. Excellent mystery with plenty of suspects and several great surprise twists. So glad the next book will be here in a few days. Definitely one of my favorite series.

Another Home Run!

Excellent storyline. Realistic characters, yes even the ghost! I love how Eryn integrates past information without taking an entire chapter to catch readers up.

I really love this series. The mysteries are always interesting and the variety of characters is nice. I love that we get to know each spirit as they need Rosemary's help and overall this series really is the best of all of it.

I am excited but also sad to know there's only one more book in the series. I am looking forward to it but also don't want to rush finishing.

I loved this book, once again the author has managed to come up with an engaging mystery that keeps the listener hooked.
I don't think the usual town ghosts play such a big role in this instalment, as they are to busy hiding from a new annoying ghost and while normally I would be sad about that, that wasn't the case. There is so much going on and this time round the ghost Rosemary is trying to help is actually the murder victim. Don't get me wrong the ghosts are there to lend a hand but Rosemary spends most of her time with the new ghost, inbetween questioning suspects, checking on alibi's and preparing for a wedding. Things certainly heat up in this book, in more ways than one and with some humours out comes. I think the mystery aspect of the book was actually my favourite part and along with Rosemary I hoped a number of the suspects didn't turn out to be the killer. I wasn't sure who I wanted the killer to be and might I have guessed in the end but to be honest I was to busy enjoying the book. The characters are once again delightful and full of life, even the ghosts. It's sad to think Asher's story (and the series) which has been a long running investigation throughout the series, is coming to an end in the next book. At least I will get to revisit my friends of Pebble Cove whenever I want with the audio books. On to the next one.
Rosemary is surprised to encounter a ghost which is just days old, normally it takes a lot longer for a ghost to reappear but that is not the only thing different about this ghost. He saw his killer as he was left dying on his boat. He was a notorious ladies man and knowing what colour hair of the lady who killed him is no help. With the chief and her mother's wedding just days away the Chief might have to cancel the honeymoon if it isn't solved in time. Rosemary will stop at nothing to see that that doesn't happen and even tries speed dating to get more information on the dead man. Can Rosemary find the killer before the big day? And with everybody around her falling in love can Rosemary overcome her biggest obstacle and admit who she has feelings for?
I love this narrator. She does such a good job it is hard not to believe the ghosts aren't sitting next to me as a listen to the story.

Make sure you have a box of tissues ready when you read this book because you're going to need it!

Love is definitely in the air in Pebble Cove, and this book is a mushy one when it comes to couples getting their happily ever after. Even the mystery deals with heartache and love.

I have a lot of feelings about the developments between Rosemary and Asher's relationship. I'm super hopefully that the final book will have a lot of closure for all, but I'm on the fence for what I'd like to see happen between these two. Such a bittersweet love story they have going on.

I enjoyed this mystery being more ghost driven, it was neat to see the 'witch/spiritual' world come into play with Rosemary's gift, and have other outsiders validate what she is experiencing. This series has been all about growth for her, and this book does not disappoint in that department. Not to mention all the side characters that are getting their own full growth arc.

Pebble Cove has gone from a small fishing community to a town wide family that Rosemary and Callie fit into perfectly. Multiple scenes made me teary eyed, but the last few chapters were wow. Way to hit us right where it hurts, then pull at our heart strings!

You'll love this series, if you enjoy books that take lost characters and have them find themselves over the course of many books.

This one was a bit slow and I still continue to be annoyed with the plot device of a novice trying to solve a murder and endangering herself and compromising the law enforcement investigation I sm, however, intrigued by the ghost history/romance part of the book. Will read the next one - the last one in the series.

Amazon synopsis:
After two years of seeing ghosts, Rosemary Woodmere has never encountered a spirit who has appeared so soon after they were murdered. But the ghost of Dominic Frost proves it’s possible, and he immediately begs her to help find his killer. Unfortunately, the local playboy has left behind a long list of scorned lovers, with ample motives to kill. Even dead, the spirit spends more time flirting than helping Rosemary with the case.

In contrast to Dominic’s failed relationships, everyone in Rosemary’s life seems to be coupling up. Her mom’s wedding is fast approaching, Jolene’s on vacation with her new beau, and even Callie has a promising date.

When Rosemary’s search for Asher’s killer leads her to his distant relative, the similarities between him and Asher are unmistakable, with one noticeable difference: he’s not a ghost. But does Rosemary’s heart already belong to someone else?

Rosemary's stumbled over (or more like the spirit of a freshly deceased individual has prodded her into finding) another suspicious dead body and the list of people who might have wanted to off him is a leeeeetle bit long. Mostly because Dominic liked the ladies and there is a rather large pool of suspects to draw from.

Which means Rosemary has her work cut out for her even before you throw in the ongoing mystery of Asher's death and a somewhat tight timeframe since her mom and the chief's wedding is coming up quickly and everything needs to be wrapped up before then. Because, you know, the chief needs to be free to get married and all that.

So Rosemary starts whittling down suspects while also digging into Asher's past. Asher's distant relative bears a startling resemblance to him, which messes with Rosemary's head a little. (Plus, Asher has a little case of the jealousies, which is rough.)

A playboy who has a definite type, a little cosmetic change for Rosemary, a possible romantic entanglement for Callie, and Rosemary doing her thing as she figures out who did the deed. Good stuff.

"Love 'Em and Leaf 'Em (Pebble Cove Teahouse #7)" by Eryn Scott had better be close to finding out what happened to Asher. This one was more about Rosemary realizing she is in love with Asher. Asher, the ghost who now has semi precious stones to make him more powerful. He can now touch and hold things. Rosemary also gets a moonstone ring so she doesn't have to find the moon anymore to call the ghosts. At least they still realize that a relationship between them wouldn't be a good idea and she's well into adulthood. I still would have preferred them stay good friends, we need more examples of this. Too many people think that if they get along really well with someone then there has to be a romantic part to it too. No, people can be just friends too. Also, a new potential love interest for Rosemary is introduced that would be perfect for her. So a friendship with Asher should be good enough.

The mystery was okay. A little overshadowed by all the love theme stuff. I kinda had a feeling where this one was going versus past books where I really had no idea. I was right about who murder was and why in the end.

The seventh book in the Pebble Cove series gets to the nitty gritty in the complicated relationship between tea shop owner Rosemary and Asher. While her mother and police chief are planning their wedding and close friend/co-worker Callie is kindling her own romance, Rosemary struggles with the reality that being in love with a ghost is just not possible ... is it? The murder of a rich, handsome heartbreaker provides a little distraction, as does Asher's great, great, great, great nephew, Riley, who displays a remarkable family resemblance.
My only disappointment is that the Pebble Cove series is approaching a conclusion. Erin Scott's skill as a writer shines throughout the story with multiple plots and colorful, engaging characters. I long for, yet dread, the next installment. Saying goodbye will be difficult.

I enjoyed this cozy ghost mystery story with all of the characters. The main character was Rosemary Woodmere.

Rosemary Woodmere can see ghost. But in the two years of see ghost she did not expect to encounter a sprint that can appear so soon after being murdered. Dominic Frost want her help in solving his murder after he found out that she could see him. Rosemary decides to help him by there was a lot of people that he knew.

This was a fun mystery story to read. It had action, suspense, adventure and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within. It was fun trying to solve this mystery.

Rosemary, with help from Callie, have a new ghost to help, but she still is searching for answers for Asher. Now his relative might have some answers. A wedding to help plan, mysteries to solve, wonderfully quirky Oregon town to fall in love with, and a tea house to run. The author pulls it all together easily and keeps the intrigue and romance on a high note. The ending is terrific and can not wait to read the final book in the series, and get some closure for my favorite characters.

Asher’s murder mystery once again continues. But neither of them really truly want to solve it. We get to finally see a deeper side to Asher and Rosemary’s relationship! I really really like this one. Dare I say loved it. The mystery of Dominic’s murder and the myriad of women. Rosemary coming to new revelations about herself and what she wants(not just for herself). The conclusion was still exciting and unexpected. Can’t wait to see how the last one brings everything to an end.
