"Formidable Flore" is the story of the remarkable Flore Gaillard, the former enslaved heroine and leader of the "Armée Française dans les Bois" instrumental in fighting the British during the Brigands War of the 1790s in St Lucia. This almost forgotten chapter of history is an excellent read for children and adults alike.
