Ok I'm not expert in grammar or reading about it, but it seemed like an excellent grammar book. I both liked the depth it had and was confused and annoyed by it (but that is due to my qualms).
I still don't quite know what I feel I should know, though if I had studied the book more or if I had done the exercises in the book, I would be in a different spot. I also don't know why it's so expensive (huge thank you to a friend for letting me borrow it).
Anyway, it is seriously really good, I'm just unmotivated. :')

A book that explains not only grammatical choices but also rhetorical effects? What a revelation!
After reading this text I feel confident with the basics of: grammatical structures, sentence rhythm, writers voice, and the function of rhetorical devices. A great textbook full of examples. The well-divided chapters mean that this book will remain on my shelf as a reference book for years to come.
