Sylvie, was born in Romania, but raised by the world. She loves to travel as much as she loves to eat good food, read great books, and find her way through the inspiration hype. Her books are inspired by her travels, life, and coming from her higher self (inspiration, aka the Muse). Her stories are full of emotions and are unique in structure. She started to write in high school, but her first published work is the YA Romance trilogy "Gods' Immortality" (in Romanian: Imortalitatea Zeilor). Sylvie has published 3 books in English (as a second language), and 6 books in Romanian (mother tongue). She is experiencing different genres, too. Her books are all under the fiction genre so far, and they could be classified as psychological, high fantasy, romance, and even erotic (not as the primary genre).

Published books:
1. Gods' Immortality (Imortalitatea Zeilor) vol 1 (Available in Romanian)
2. Chess Mate (Imortalitatea Zeilor: Sah Mat) vol 2 (Available in Romanian)
3. Regressus (Imortalitatea Zeilor: Regressus) vol 3 (Available in Romanian)
4. The Hour of the Dragon - Kingdom of Masks (in original "Ora Dragonului - Regatul Mastilor) vol 1 at Editura UP (Available in Romanian)
5. The Hour of the Dragon - Kingdom of Dreams (in original "Ora Dragonului - Regatul Viselor) vol 2 at Editura UP (Available in Romanian)
6. The Hour of the Dragon - Kingdom of Scarmen (in original "Ora Dragonului - Regatul Cicatrizatilor) vol 3 at Editura UP (Available in Romanian)

Hello,

On April 11th, I'm announcing the release of my brand new book - The Girl in 1311 (notice the numerological synchronicity ;) )
The book is already available for purchase on Amazon (paperback and Kindle): https://www.amazon.com/Girl-1311-S-D-...

Google Play (eBook):  https://play.google.com/store/books/d...

Read below some background to the story:
I wrote this book in about a month, the amount of time I spent in a 5-star resort in Zanzibar. What an amazing experience that was! So new, so thrilling, like a homecoming for a soul that didn’t know what to expect when firstly traveled to the African continent. Since then, I returned to that land over and over just to recreate the same emotions and engage the African muse.
It will excite you to know that I’ve met part of the characters in this book (yes, they are real, only their story had been changed to accommodate the narration). The Indian lover, John Singh (not his real name), actually suggested the title. The room number is also real. I lived there for the duration of my stay and if you are passionate about numerology, maybe you can contact me and share the power of this combination (1311). The blond girl isn’t me. She is pure fiction created by the exotism of the land and the mirage of the Indian Ocean.
As the story moved and I covered page after page of it, guided by Detective Liam Blessing’s investigation, I knew not what awaited me at the end. This was a mystery for me as well, and a big surprise at the finish line when all was revealed and I found out who this girl was and how much need she had to be free of the world, prejudices, suffering, and injustice.

Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

She did it again and I loved it again. A bit diffrent from what she usually writes but that’s Sylvie, always wonderful in her way she suprises her fans with a change in style or genre.
What I liked about the book
Fast paced. Sylvie doesn’t waste momentum for the sake of adding unnecesary details.
Mystery reloaded in case you still think you can guess how her mind works. Sylvie is a master of surprise. Whatever you think will be at the beginning, you are wrong. Sylvie has her own way of delivering and end to her books.
Characters that Could be real, So she keeps you in a state of wondering if she is using real people to tell a story. She does mention at the end the inspiration sources. Can you guess which of her characters are inspired in her exotic travels. She does seem to travel a lot ;)
Detective story it’s a new genre for Sylvie, though for newbie it isn’t clear. I admire her ability to shift and suffle through genre.
Writing in English when it’s not her native language. I respect her for her courage and the amazing work she does. This is the 3rd book writen in English by Sylvie. I’m not a native, but I studied and work in the UK, still I would never dare to write a book in another language other than Myown.

Think I would have liked:
The Resort in her book sounds like an amazing place for an exotic holiday, and she meantions that it’s a real place in Zanzibar. I would have loved more details, longer description, of that place. Maybe she wanted to keep the Resort as annonymous.
Ilike how she crafts her characters So I would have loved a longer book (it’s 300 Pages, but because it’s action driven, it can be read in a day or two). Maybe she creates a series for Detective Liam Blessing if she sees an interest. People, buy the book, read it and leave comments to encourage her to write more. The book is worth your money.

Overall, I still think she deserve 5 stars for her talent, imagination, effort to write in 2 languages, dedication, her skills to craft memorable characters, Develop twisted plots and have endings that nobody will guess until the very end. Congratulation Little lady for another great piece of ART.

Nice, experimental writing from an author that composes mainly fantasy fiction. She kept her mysterious way of scripting, with the double or triple twists in the story, yet this is a new genre for Sylvie. She kept it short and to the point, with no boring descriptions and unnecessary details.
I must confess that I would have liked a little bit of sights description for an exotic place like Zanzibar. The 5 starts Resort sounds nice, too. Plus, Sylvie admits that this is a story inspired by reality, or at least in one of her many travels. Liam Blessing is the typical police officer, dedicated and with family problems due to his long hours and chaotic life. His charm is in his thinking, and the humanitarian approach to the case. Sylvie does not overestimate his skills, nor denies his intelligence or detective instincts, much like in real life. The disappeared girl is a mystery. Who is she? And what happened to her. When we find out who she is, again, there is nothing particularly exceptional about her (maybe except for being rich), so it made me wonder how much was fiction (Sylvie's imagination) and how much could have been a local "legend" that she heard. She is not very clear (intentionally) in her afterword.
The rhythm is very alert, so the reader is kept in a state of an emotional rush. I believe Sylvie is using it as a strategy to prevent us from predicting the next move. Before you know it, boom, you are presented with another blocker, and when you reach the end and you finally find out the answer to the mystery, it is not something you would have guessed.
I enjoy Sylvie's writing style, it's so refreshing. And the Mystery-detective story crafting could become her thing if she pursues her writing career in this direction. She is a gifted fiction author. Her inner world is so rich, and her characters are so colorful and lively. There is something about her books that I cannot stop loving.

What a fun, surprising story. It is so easy to read. The pace is very fast, fun, and unexpected. When I picked this book (knowing that the author Sylvie wrote it while she lived in a 5-star resort in Zanzibar during the Covit Pandemic) I was expecting something light (it is quite light and easy to read), warm and soothing like a summer vacation. Well, surprise, surprise, Sylvie proved that she can write a compelling story fast and furious, and have fun in between. I recommend it anytime, any day, not only for your holidays. It can be read in a night if you prefer. The ending is also unexpected, which I love.
