Cherish gets a surprise visitor, who changes her life forever. That's not the only change for the Baker/Bruner family when tragedy strikes. Can Wilma allow the entire extended family to come together to overcome the challenges they face?

I have read all of the books in the series and this is the next to the last book. This book was bitter sweet because Levi is having health problems. Cherish is my favorite character in the series and this book was all about her. Cherish wants to go to her farm and she wants to marry Malachi but with Levi sick her mother does not want her to leave. Her mother also does not want her to leave because she is the last of her daughters. This puts Cherish in a terrible situation. Cherish has a surprise visitor one day and it’s Malachi. He has come to declare his love for her and we are cheering them on each step of the way.
I've really enjoyed this series and feel like a part of the family. I've been through so much with them and will miss them very much. The author should write a series following Cherish and Malachi's family.
So this is the second to the last book of the Bonnet Sisters and if you are like me and have read them from the start you are feeling very nostalgic. So many things have happened to this family and we have been lucky enough that Samantha has written all our hearts, minds and feelings into these books also. We were left last book with Krystal and Gertie's grandson are maybe a match, maybe not. The wedding of Favor and Simon is over but the marriage is not good. Cherish has come to learn that she really is in love with Malachi and wants to move back to her farm to take the relationship further and see if they are really meant for each other. So we start the book with the family home and it is Apple Harvesting Season. Everyone is working hard when an wonderful visitor comes to the farm. Malachi knows that Cherish has been really busy so he comes to her since she can't get back to the farm. She is ecstatic and can't wait to spend time with him. Krystal is offered Gertie's store and a mystery of money missing is solved. I still don't trust Gertie's family and think there is something still to be solved for Krystal. I am hoping it has to do with a certain young man who fancies her. Wilma is worried about being alone and doesn't want Cherish to go to the farm and is having strong feelings about it when tragedy hits the family causing all the family to come home and be together. Now we wait for it all to be wrapped up in a nice bow and find out how everyone is handling their situations. Again, I have to tell you that if you want a great saga to read and you haven't read Samantha's series run to the nearest bookstore and grab the first five. You will go through these rapidly and then by craving more. I did receive a copy of this book as I am an ARC reader for Samantha but I promised to give my true feelings on her writing and stories. I have done that.
A Change of Heart The Amish Bonnet Sisters #29 by Samantha Price is the latest in this series.
Cherish is so ready to move to her farm and marry Malachi, but something of someone is always in the way. She knew in her heart that her mom would not take the news well. Wilma had a fear of Cherish leaving home and her being all alone. Will she ever be able to live on her beloved farm she inherited from Aunt Dagmar?
Levi is not doing well and Cherish just can’t seem to tell her mom about Malachi and her wanting to marry.
When Malachi gets tired of waiting and comes for a surprise visit, Cherish is overjoyed. Wilma realizes their relationship is special and she is unsure as to how she feels. Malachi is only there to support the family especially Cherish.
Wilma announces her decision. Will it change Malachi and Cherish’s plans?
If you are a follower of this series, you can’t miss this new 5-star addition.
I was given an ARC by the author, but was not required to give a positive review.
I was at a disadvantage as this was my first Amish Bonnet Sister book I have read. And this was book # 28!! But I soon caught on and was able to figure out who was who.
Cherish was longing for a new life. She has put everything on hold to protect her mother. It appears that this might just backfire on her. She sure takes verbal abuse by some of the family members. I kept waiting for her to go off on them but she shows restraint. Her faith has kept her strong (so far).
Krystal has had a rough go of it. She is trying so hard to fit in and be appreciated. Her future decisions need to be made carefully.
The family dynamics and the problems they each have were interesting and at times, heart breaking.
I do plan to read the next 2 books in the series to see how everything turns out. Can Cherish find happiness? Will Krystal ever feel like she belongs?
Will Cherish ever get to marry Malachi?? Wilma and Ada have few disagreements but they do disagree on Cherish's happiness. Everyone sees how different/happy that Cherish acts now that Malachi has come to visit her. Cherish only wants to marry Malachi and move to her farm. Malachi now sees how hard it is for Cherish to leave. It's not only all the chores that Wilma has her to do but he also can see the decline in health that Levi has had. Malachi will be leaving soon to return to the farm , will Cherish be able to return with him?, or will fate bring on more responsibilities for Cherish to take on? What stand will Wilma take? I was lucky enough to be chosen as an ACR reader and really love all the Bonnet Sisters and their lives and families. The series is dwindling down and so many big changes are happening.
This has been a wonderful series by Samantha Price. If you are looking for a great writer of Amish books please check out Samantha.. Her books are always well written. You will fall in love with the characters. My favorite in the series is Cherish. She has so much spunk and care for others. She tries her best to help all but sometimes it does the opposite. This is book 29 and I believe the last of the series. Cherish finally gets a very special person to visit her. Will her dreams come true? They lose a family member. Will this be the end to her dreams for her life? This series is a 5 star I give it lot more if I could. Pick it up today with book 1 in the series called Amish Mercy. If you haven't read the Amish Bonnet Sisters series yet, it's best to start from book #1 Amish Mercy.
Definitely my favorite book in the series! I laugh, I cried, I shouted yippee! I love Cherish! At first I didn’t, but watching her grow through the series has made her dear to my heart!
I’m sad there is only one book left in the series! I think I shall reread the whole series over!
I’m so proud of the way Wilma and Cherish have both grown through the series! I can’t wait to read about Cherish’s wedding! I’m pretty sure I’m going to cry again!
I have not found a book by Samantha Price that I don’t love and I’m sure I never will!!! Thank you Samantha for your wonderful writing and mental getaways!
So many things are happening and changes are taking place. In "A Change of Heart" you will learn so much more about the Baker/Bruner family, and their extended family. In this edition so many things are going on, that you will not be able to put the book down!! Cherish has been wanting to go to her farm, yet she feels she's needed at the orchard and by her mom. She wants to talk to her about it, yet doesn't want to upset her. What does she do? How can she tell her mom about Malachi and herself, without upsetting her mom? Does she accomplish it or just forget it? Cherish has a run in with someone she hasn't seen in a while, doing things in town. Who is this person and what surprising info do they tell her? Things are definitely changing with the family in this story. You want to grab your pre-order copy, so you don't miss out on the second to last book in this series!!! It's full of love, hope, faith, hurt, forgiveness, regrets, and so much more! **These are my opinions, after receiving an ARC from the author**
A Change of Heart The Past, the present, the future This book gives us an insight of what to expect in our own lives as the story revolves around many characters. Sometimes it is hard to accept the changes and it is hard to let go. As we read this book, we are hoping for Wilma to accept the change that she is faced with. Many changes have happened for all our characters and in Samantha’s last book of this series, we will see their future. This book is definitely one of my favorites and I think it will be one of your favorites also.
e not started this series, I highly recommend that you start with book one and read them all! Samantha Price is a gifted author who weaves an interesting, attention getting story in each of the books.
Cherish has been one of the characters in the books that has kept the stories full of unexpected twists, and now we see her older, but is she wiser? Wilma, the mother, has decisions to make? What role will Ada play? What role does Malachi have in the story now? This series has gotten better with each book. I'm looking forward to the next book, which will be the last in the series.
I continue to be amazed at how this author can take the stories of so many different individuals and weave them into a single book that’s easy to follow and even more delightful to read, but she does! But one also gets immersed in the uniqueness of each person and his or her own story. And to see how Gott (God) has His hand in the happy times as well as the sad times is an inspiration to the reader.i was blessed with an advanced copy by the author and am posting my honest review.
Yet another great read from Samantha Price!! A Change of Heart is like a warm blanket on a Fall day. If you follow the Bonnet Sisters series then you will have many questions answered. I have found myself laughing, crying and wanting to celebrating as so many of the characters lives come full circle. If you have not started the series do yourself a favor and start TODAY, if you have started don’t wait get your copy TODAY!! You will not be disappointed!!!!!
Finally Cherish has grown up and thinks more of others. I enjoyed the character growth. However, I was surprised at the overlooked editing errors! Samantha Price is usually better about avoiding grammatical errors. For example, “ Harriet would let Simon and I go on a vacation…” It should say Simon and ME, Let ME not let I! Also, “ It will give Favor and I time to catch up.” Again, it should read, “ Favor and ME”. The editor should catch grammatical errors.
Samantha Price has created a beautiful story that has drawn me in from book 1. This book was both heartwarming and pulling on my heart strings. I feel like when I read her books, I can escape to the Baker/Bruner world and feel as part of the family. Thank you for giving us these gifts of your talent! :)
Should have been caught by editor. After Levi’s death, the book discussed that Florence and Carter and Iris left. Then a page or two later, Florence is helping prepare dinner with Cherish and Debbie and Krystal. How is that possible? Overall a good book but I hate to come across things like this.
I have loved this series of books by Samantha Price. This is next to last in the series. It seems that Cherish and Malachi are finally going to be wed and move to the farm. Then an unexpected event occurs and delays the wedding yet again. Will Cherish’s dream of a husband, home, and family ever come true?
This was a great book, as usual. Cherish is surprised by a visit from Malachi. Favor is still having issues with Simon, and hates having to do everything the way his parents want him to. Wilma isn't ready for change. I love the way everyone came together. I don't want to give away anything, so all I'm going to say is have some tissues ready.
I have read all the books in this series. This book did not disappoint either. It had surprises, sadness, but also happiness. I have all good things to say about all these books. Can't wait for #30 to come out. If you love Amish books like I do, then start at #1 and enjoy!!!
Cherish at last gets her own book, in love with her farm manager Malachi. Cherish dreams of the life she will lead when she is able to return to the farm permanently. The plot has a lot of twists that need to be followed. This book is one of the best in this series. I highly recommend the series.
Wilma is the same. Levi is a rock until he isn't. Ada still wants her tea piping hot, Samuel is steadfast. Matthew is maturing and then there's Malachi who simply shows up! And Cherish is torn. She's so happy Malachi is there, but she needs to be close to Wilma.
I have read all 29 books I love them, I know the story has to end but that's said. Cherish has always been my favorite bonitt sister, always in trouble always trying to fix peoples problems. I hope that Cherishes dreams come true it would be a real shame to finish this series with a bummer. Love the family. 💖
Wow, this was the best book yet in the series. My emotions were all over the place. The surprises keep coming one being Travis, the lawyer is back and why is big. I'm not going to say why but I would have a box of tissues beside you. I can't wait for the final book in this wonderful series.
Chariety if one of my favorite characters. All the sisters and stepsisters have been described so clearly that it allows you to feel like you know them well. Looking forward to the final book cut sad to see the series end.
Great story for sure. This is leading up to a compelling end of this series but looking forward to the next. Did bring some tears to my eyes. The last book must be jammed packed because there are alot of loose ends. I cannot wait!
I just love the Bonnet Sisters. When I start reading any of these books I don't stop until I am finished I love all of Samantha Prices series but The Bonnet sisters is definitely my favorite.
I am as enthused about this book as I've been about any other book in this that I've read. Levi convinces Ada to let Cherish move out of the orchard and be with Malachi
Malachi visits cherish at the orchard by surprise. Cherish loves showing him the orchard Levi tells Wilma she has to let cherish go to the farm even though she will miss her
Oh my ! This was such a tough one to listen . I did notice they changed the narrator , impost of the voices were pretty much the same but Malachi voice was so different .
This was a sad book ok ,any occasions , but some wonderful surprises !
I love the family dynamics. They are so much like ours You. Wonder.if they will come together as a family or fall apart. You want to continue to read to see if all works out for them.
