Juniper Taylor and her husband, Lincoln, have been living as strangers in the same house for the last six months, their relationship cold, strained, and sterile. After so many months of icy civility between them, things come to a head at a family member's destination wedding. June is ready to pull the plug on her lifeless marriage. This was a sweet novella about a marriage in crisis as a result of multiple miscarriages and miscommunications. Lacking in steam and the epilogue wasn’t necessarily to my liking, but I enjoyed it well enough.

All you need is love
Very sweet short story about a married couple with fertility problems going through a rough spot. The heroine, Jupe, annoyed me slot at first. She was just so stubborn. I felt sorry for the husband. I loved how he finally told her how important she was to him and called her out for wanting a divorce! but he did pull away after her last miscarriage but only because he thought that's what she wanted. And happily enough he didn't cheat! I loved that. And the epilogue was perfectly sigh worthy!

January 26, 2024I’m not going to rate this because I pretty much DNF’ed at 51% and skimmed to the end. I just wasn’t feeling it. This is a marriage in trouble due to lack of communication. The book opens with the H and h attending a wedding. We’re told that they’ve drifted apart because after 4 miscarriages he suggested using a surrogate. That coupled with her hormones made her flinch every time he touched her, so thinking she wanted space, he moved to the guest room several weeks previously making her feel abandoned.
My main issue was I wasn’t feeling the chemistry/love. Juniper has completely checked out of the marriage and wants a divorce. Linc loves his wife and is trying to save it, but she’s not receptive. I’m sure she’ll warm up, but it didn’t feel very healthy.
I try not to let my personal opinions leak into my reading (cuz where’s the fun in that) but I couldn’t get over her attitude. Marriage isn’t always easy, there’re many bumps in the road, and the fact she’s throwing the D word around made me feel like she wasn’t dedicated/that in love.
It was just so illogical that she’d ask for a divorce before ever talking to her husband… and I couldn’t get past it. Plus, it was kind of boring as there’s little forward movement and I was halfway through.
Bottom Line- I need two things in my serious (non-soapy) marriage in trouble books… communication and adulting. I needed emotion and heavy lifting, and Juniper was shut down for too long killing any potential feels.

Marriage in trouble due to a complete lack of communication. I wanted to reach into the book and smack her. I can sympathize with what she was dealing with, but for crying out loud, open your mouth and communicate what you’re thinking and feeling. He’s not a freaking mind reader. And honestly, he’s not much better.

I don't know what happenned to Natasha Anders. She used to write such compelling stories, full of angst and emotions. This story (not even a story, just a few scenes) is really flat. There's obviously a trauma and need of psychological support but none of the characters seek profesional help. Instead, they avoid talking about it and behave like nothing has happened. Each thinks that they give the other space to get over it, instead what they accomplish, is pushing the other away and drive a wedge in their marriage.
And then, in just a few hours, once they bother to finally talk about it, all is well again.

Natasha Anders says the word “divorce” and it’s like she’s ringing a dinner bell for me, I’m there. No questions asked. This was a quick, easy read about a marriage in trouble with some miscommunication and groveling, what’s not to like?

It wasn’t bad but it was way too short for the subject matter. I did feel like the dude was shallow for just abandoning his wife during a very bad time. He really didn’t try all that hard. As for the FMC I felt she was selfish. And yet so easily swayed back from the end of her marriage. Either you really are done or your not. Don’t ask for a divorce if all it took was ONE (singular), hour’s worth of a conversation to fix your marriage. You don’t just throw out a request for a divorce if you’re not sure. It was too easy is what I’m saying.
It really isn’t worth buying or reading because it’s basically fluff.

Juniper and Lincoln have suffered terrible losses and as a result they have drifted apart. When she asks for a divorce Lincoln realises that he has made a mistake in giving her space. This book is all about miscommunication and I loved it.

Short but Sweet
What a lovely novella. Written with the same talent and care as any other book I have read by Natasha Anders.
A second chance romance when they did not know there was a chance. A book about forgiveness, love and moving forward. Has such an adorable HEA.

It’s a hard subject to talk about. It’s so heartbreaking and can totally destroy a person and the families involved. Natasha did an amazing job. We as human shut down when things go wrong. Communication is the key. Great book.

Okay read.

It addressed some difficult topics (multiple miscarriage/infertility) so of course the book was mostly sad and angsty, but it was handled sensitively. It was sweet.
Unfortunately not a storyline that I particularly enjoy.

Very short angst filled novella about a couple’s inability to deal with their grief and heartbreak over several miscarriages.
I think the non-communication between them lasted a bit too long (6 months) considering how very desperately they supposedly were in love with each other.
I never had any doubts they would resolve their issues and this author does write angst pretty well. So all in all a satisfying read.

Six months of cold distance and after her fourth heartaching miscarriage she thought it was best to divorce her husband who refused to stay away from her, she think it’s not fair being with Linc (her husband) who loves and wants kids a lot when she can’t give him one, she thinks it’s best if they part away. Oh! How wrong she is, she doesn’t know yet how much she can’t live without her dear husband and it’s same the for him.

I needed to read something short and sweet and this book was all it , I could finish this book in two hours but I highlight and reread most chapters and I took a short break and then finished it. I have loved Natasha Andrés’s writing style ever since I read the unwanted wife and I plan to read more books by her.
This is an easy and quick read it’s sweet and heart aching it’s all about love and fighting for your beloved ones ❤️

Um, what was she thinking?
I don’t think I’ve read about a woman more dumb than this wife. She pushes her husband away, and is now wanting a divorce because of her miscarriages. Yes, she’s had several and has convinced herself that she should divorce him so that he can find someone who can give him babies.
I must lack some empathy or something because she brought it on herself. You do not push your husband away like that. In fact she should have been closer to him and grieved together. He thought he was giving her the space she clearly wanted. And he was waiting for a sign that she wanted to be close to him, and instead she just distanced herself more.
It worked out but this wasn’t a favorite of mine. Plus the editing needs work.

Second chance
For such a short read it packs a punch. It has a hit of everything angst, heartache and a broken relationship.
They both reacted differently to their last miscarriage.. Words were said unintentionally and taken the wrong way.. Then no words of affirmation, love and support. He needed to say the words because she wasn't feeling them with everything that was happening. And what better place than a wedding destination. Lol

I hate when H/h is showed as victim but he/ she is the actual bitch
So she is mad at him because he didn’t sleep with her in the same bed, but she also the one who pushed him back when he tried to embrace her. She felt lonely when he went to his business trip, but she also the one who insisted on going.
So it’s all about making him feel guilty and how dare he wasn’t there for me, but it doesn’t matter that she is the one who pushed him away and was bitch when she wanted to claim that she cheated on him

Angsty Marriage in Trouble
Natasha Anders is a favorite writer of mine. Her stories are always angsty and pull at your heart strings. In this novella we have a couple who have difficulty in their marriage and because of the wife’s insecurity she has decided that it is time they divorce. I enjoyed the book, but sometimes that silly miscommunication issue drives me crazy. Couples must communicate in order for things to work. I’ll forgive this issue since this couple has only been together for three years. Great book. Wonderful characters. A great short read.

Μια μικρή ιστορία (μόλις 92 σελιδες) για τις δυσκολιες που αντιμετωπίζει ένα ζευγάρι με προβλήματα τεκνοποιησης. Για να πω την αλήθεια, η ηρωίδα σε ένα μεγάλο μέρος του βιβλίου μου έσπαγε τα νεύρα. Ήταν τόσο σίγουρη για το τι ήθελε ο σύζυγος της και επέμενε στο διαζύγιο δίχως να το συζητήσει μαζί του.Εκεινος από τη μεριά του έκανε κάποια "λαθη" όμως ήταν τόσο γλυκός στον τρόπο που προσπαθούσε να την στηρίξει και να της εξήγηση ότι το διαζύγιο δεν είναι επιλογή.

Lincoln is such a sweet man who has to learn how to use his words as well as his actions. Juniper also has to learn how to trust his love.

I just finished this book in one sitting. I love books by Natasha Anders and how her male and female characters are flawed and they redeem themselves. In the case of this book, both characters made mistakes and those were the mistakes I have seen made in real life and heard people make them. It was all believable for me. I love how short and sweet it was and the point it has a HEA I'm all for it.

It was a predictable story that I've read many many times. Marriage in trouble due to miscommunication and infertility/ miscarriage. But it still made me sad, especially Linc's (32) declaration at the end because I'm an absolute sap. 🌻
