Darren is type cast in the standard rich guy mold by all except those close too him but Sara reveals unexpected depths to him that makes her develop feelings for him. Both Sara and Darren have heavy pasts and carry emotional baggage that influences their relationship and feelings for one another. Set in a contemporary world story introduces meaningful characters that will at the same time touch your heart, amuse you and have you rooting for them. Will Sara and Darren be able to bridge the almost unsurmountable hurdles in station, outlook and adversity? How will they conquer their own fears and failings to find happiness again?

I enjoyed this love story between a grief-stricken woman, Sara and her ambitious yet insecure love interest, Darren. They meet one night when he is stranded in her suburb and spends one innocent night with Sara, then leaves. They meet again four years later, and as they get to know each other, misunderstandings occur due to past hurts and a lack of communication. I didn’t particularly like Sara in the beginning, as she appeared weak and seemed to demean herself when Darren had become angry and resentful towards her. I hated Darren’s arrogance and disrespect towards Sara, but she still partly allowed it to happen when she wouldn’t just leave and not put up with his derogatory remarks, but she stayed with him. Over time, they separated and I became frustrated at how they could have behaved like adults and sorted things out a lot quicker. The story was a page turner and interesting, but. it could have picked up the pace a bit quicker. Some scenes could have been cut, but overall, an entertaining and enjoyable story. Well worth the read.

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I read it cover to cover without putting it down. It was a Goodreads win and one of the best, even over best selling authors. It was a book about love, redemption ( the title) , forgiveness, but written in such a way that is was not so obvious, but written in a way that I did not want to put it down. I must read for anyone.

Beautiful Story
I really enjoyed this story. A chance meeting has two people feeling a connection like never before. But when they meet again after their lives have changed, can they make it work? This story was quite original and if you like a clean romance, I definitely recommend this one.

Angsty - Also was the author a teenager?
Some spoilers here — Look I’m down with some angst, but I think the author forgot to put in the love story part of the romance. The beginning started out well. But very quickly I was frustrated at the hero, he didn’t seem to have a lot of good qualities. He would get mad, and demand she kiss him because all woman are alike so obviously when he takes her to his home against her will, she’ll want to have sex. He apologized, but it was weird. Then they made out at work and she thought maybe she wanted to lose her virginity to him. Okay whatever. They DID kind of have a double date that night and he was frustrated that she wouldn’t pick up and leave the country with him that minute. There was a misunderstanding after that and he drunkenly decides to tell her that he only wants he for sex and writes her a check, then tells her to follow him up. She’s angry, rips up the check, THEN FOLLOWS HIM, there was no explicit scene, it cut to the next morning (probably for the best) and that concluded the relationship building portion of the story. The rest was him feeling bad because she was a virgin, them fighting with each other, insisting that the other was the worst, the author giving more background to past situation, and him trying to become a better guy. Then in the last chapter of the book they meet up, he says he loves her and wouldn’t you know he wants to marry her and have a family? Luckily she wants that too and the book is abruptly over.
The way they thought and interacted felt juvenile, so I repeatedly thought this author must be young, and there were several spelling and grammatical errors.

Wow, what an amazing love story!
The characters were phenomenal! I enjoyed reading and getting to know Kate, Sara and Darren! All these characters and the things they went through made me connect with them on a personal level.
The storyline is unforgettable! I was addicted from the beginning and I kept hoping for a HEA because I am always a sucker for them. I truly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!

Sara Colbert was home alone, watching the snow getting heavier. Her parents and sister had some lat minute Christmas shopping to do and she was worried about them getting home again on the snow covered roads. A pounding on her door was a man obviously cold and needing shelter. He had been looking for a house and finally found hers. She invited him in to warm up. He slept on the couch that night and was gone when she got up the next morning. That was the night her parents were killed in an accident and her sister was paralyzed and suffered a brain injury. Now four years later Sara is beginning a new job at Infonet. She literally bumps into the CEO Darren Hartford. He recognized her immediately but she didn't remember him. So he reminded her of the night he stayed with her in the Tennessee snowstorm. This begins an unlikely friendship between them. They have ups and lots of downs because of assumptions and misunderstandings. Darren says some horrible things to her and she decided to resign and find a different job. Her sister,Kate, is at a rehabilitation center nearby. Sara tries to save up enough money to pay for a surgery that could allow Kate to walk again. Darren looks into Kate's situation and makes an anonymous grant for her surgery. He also takes on the rehabilitation center as a new charity. Sara is so grateful for the grant, but can't find out who it was. The surgery went well and they were hopeful she would gain strength again. The secret Darren carries is a huge one. He tells only one person. Paul is one of Sara's oldest and best friends. It slips out after an angry confrontation at the hospital. This is a story of facing tough obstacles, seeking forgiveness, and hoping for redemption. It's a great book.

Who knew a chance meeting one winter day five years prior due to events out of Thierry control, would result in finding your true love. Both MCs, Darren and Sara, have trust issues thanks to past life experiences and trauma. They know they have feelings for one another, but refuse to be honest with themselves how they feel. Those doubts result in angst brought on by fear and miscommunication. Once they each realize their own faults, both Darren and Sara work to redeem themselves in each other’s eyes.

Needs help
The story was nice, but the editing made it difficult to read. Missing or extra words were minor compared to the terrible comma use and other punctuation errors that actually changed the meaning and tempted me to quit reading. As for the story, I thought the couple didn't know each other well enough to truly be in love. Kate's mental condition was also never adequately explained. We just had to guess.

Liked getting to know Kate and Darren. Darren was searching for someone like Kate and didn't realize it until it was almost too late. Enjoyed it very much.

This was a good romance story. OK for even under 18-year-old readers. Highly recommended.
