Alex has dreamed about the kiss she had on the beach, and now the man's in front of her again. Unfortunately, the kiss was magical, but the guy turns out to be the jerk raising the rent on her struggling bookstore. Sigh... When they can't keep their hands off each other, perhaps it's meant to be. But will this pair of opposites be able to reconcile their differences and their feelings?

These two definitely had the push and pull going on, in an exasperating way at times, but it was entertaining reading as they struggled to come to terms with their attraction and their growing feelings. The banter and the grumpy sunshine was fun, and Aaron's two kids made for even more frustrations but also created a lot of empathy as they figured out how to deal with their loss. The ending isn't as much of a strong epilogue for Alex and Aaron, but more of a glimpse of Alex's friend Felicity's story to come. I think hers is going to be good!

Aaron is trying to be the uncle that her niece and nephew need after the tragic deaths of their parents. They have recently moved to Hazel Island however the transition isn’t without its complication as his niece and nephew leave everything and everyone that is familiar, and he has drawn the ire of the local bookstore owner who he is equally attracted to and infuriated by.

In her head Alex knows that the last person she should have feelings for is the man who is threatening the viability of her business, but her heart doesn’t seem to be listening, so you know that they are in for a bumpy ride.

This is a heartwarming story about love, family and finding happiness with whom you least expected despite the turmoil and misunderstandings they needed to overcome.

Alex and Aaron met so romantically one night on a beach where he grabbed her and kissed, and then just walked away. Neither knew the others name, but couldn’t forget the kiss. Alex’s book store wasn’t doing too well then she received an email from the new owner telling her her rent was going up 25 percent. Alex was such a firecracker, I couldn’t believe the email’s she kept sending. When they finally figure out who they were talking to things don’t get any better. I felt bad for Aaron as his brother and sister in law were killed in a car accident and he was now the guardian of a pre teen boy and a young teenage girl. Oh the things he went through with them! To top it off, he kept running into Alex where they would have words, but end up kissing. It got even more complicated when Aaron started dating Alex’s roommate! Their adventure into romance was up and down! I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

This was an emotional roller-coaster. The push-me/pull-you dynamic between Alex and Aaron left my head spinning. This pair are another example of how the opposite of love certainly isn’t hate. There are sparks flying off the page from the first moment we see them together, and every page after that. It hurt my heart to watch both of them struggling with their individual challenges, and knowing that if they could just pull together, they might be the answer each other needs. I adored that ending, and the teaser for what looks like is coming next has me balanced on the edge of my seat in anticipation.

Book three in the series brings Alexandria and Aaron's story. It's an enemies to lovers romance with a strong chemistry and fun banter. The author adds in a strong supporting cast, paints her scenes beautifully and moves it fluidly, delivering another great read.

Alexandra and Aaron are a little piece of heaven that tiptoes across the senses and into the heart. Like fire and ice, Morland pulls emotions into a storm of emotion as unpredictable as the weather and as unforgettable as the colors of a sunset.

This one was tough for me. Probably a good example of why enemies to lovers isn't my favorite. I had a hard time getting on board with these 2. First, for how they treated felicity, then for how they treated each other. They both were mean and hurtful and I had a hard time getting past all of it. However I did tear up when he visited his brother. So it had good points. I am still interested enough to read the next book about felicity. In fact. I'm thinking hers will be a good one.

Audio Review:

Such a cute little romance that is packed with tension, banter, and a lingering desire for each other that neither Alex or Aaron knows if they should act on. Aaron sorting through a new life with his niece and nephew after he lost his brother. Alex still triggered from past traumas. Both together need something but don't know what it is, but when they come together they have an undeniable pull towards one another and no matter how much they fight it they still find their way back to each other. While it's not overly packed with spice, it is packed with a romance that strengthens its characters and a spark that is there and you are just waiting for it to ignite.

Narrators Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer pack a punch in their delivery of these characters. Heathers voices is so soothing that it is easy to listen to. Both narrators deliver the emotional rollercoaster in this book and created a tension in the narration, making you listen with eager anticipation for the sparks to light with the characters. They did a phenomenal job and love listening to their narrations.

Iris Morland’s Love Is Here to Stay offers a blend of heartfelt emotion and small-town charm, though its third-person narrative style and pacing may not appeal to all readers. While part of the Hazel Island series, this book stands alone, making it accessible to newcomers. However, it lacks the immersive pull of some romances, leaving this reader wanting more connection to the characters and story.

💘 The Plot:
Free-spirited Alexandra Gray lives for the little joys of life, including running her beloved bookstore. But her world is turned upside down when her new landlord, Aaron Morrison, threatens her livelihood. The twist? Aaron is the same man she shared a passionate, impulsive kiss with one magical night.

Aaron, a real estate investor seeking a fresh start with his niece and nephew, isn’t looking for love. But as fate keeps pushing him and Alex together, the line between duty and desire blurs. Will Aaron follow his heart, or will responsibility hold him back?

🔥 Why You Might Love It:

Opposites Attract: The fiery, independent bookstore owner clashing with the serious, brooding landlord creates tension and sparks.
Standalone Charm: New to the series? No problem! This book doesn’t rely heavily on prior installments.
Small-Town Vibes: Hazel Island’s close-knit community adds warmth and charm to the story.
⏳ What Didn’t Work for Me:

Third-Person Narrative: The observational style creates distance, making it harder to connect with Alex and Aaron on a personal level.
Narration Falls Flat: While audiobooks can bring stories to life, the narrators didn’t add the depth or energy this tale needed.
📖 Final Thoughts:
Love Is Here to Stay has the makings of a cozy small-town romance, but its narrative style and lack of character immersion may leave some readers feeling detached. If you enjoy slow-burn romances and don’t mind a third-person perspective, this book might still be a pleasant read for you. For fans of the series, Hazel Island remains a lovely escape.

Fast moving: they're both stubborn & loathe to love👥

4.5🌟 stars
Love is Here to Stay had plenty of good elements that, put together, made it a winner for me.

It's fast moving and a decent length but not too long, complete but not exhaustive. Same with the heated bits not dragging on.

I like the enemies to lovers trope and the author does it well in Alex and Aaron's story.

The supporting characters returning from previous books in the series were involved but never sidelined the main couple. I read the two previous books in the series but I don't think you would need to; Morland provides just enough background about their relationships and recent past.

Aaron's niece and nephew and their difficulties transitioning to life on Hazel Island without their parents were a great part of the plot. I really like romances with kids. Usually younger, precocious ones, but teenagers too.

The ending, which provided the anticipated HEA then really transitions to Felicity, Alex's roommate, primed my curiosity for more from this series.

Although this can be read as a standalone, I think reading the earlier books gave me a deeper understanding of Alex, her previous conflicts with her sister and her need to stand on her own two feet and make the bookshop succeed. I am still outraged on her behalf for the way her book signing event ended up!

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book provided through Booksprout; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Aaron saw Alex on the beach and the strangers kissed, never expecting to see each other again. However, as her new landlord, intent on raising the rent and she already struggling to make a profit, things start to go badly wrong.
He has become guardian to his niece and nephew, looking for a woman to marry and become their mother. Felicity seems a prospect, but does not truly interest him...his thoughts are with the mouthy, brash, brash, difficult bookstore owner whose plan to get her rent reduced is to try to play Matchmaker.
You just know that things are going to go wrong and everyone is going to be hurt is many ways.
They are together a match not made in heaven, but the dynamic is entirely different. I did not like Alex at times, her behaviour is irresponsible and selfish, but kind hearted with good intentions. She has been like this in previous books and is both comical and disparaging, but tedious at times. Aaron is frustrated and in despair over being a parent, distracted by his thoughts and feelings.
There is no explanation as to why the book signing did not happen or why the author did not turn up, except a brief mention of the author's representative calling and Alex not answering. This is strange because of the potential damage to her reputation and business, caused by the author's absence who had already ghosted Alex before - perhaps this is another example of her character or to be addressed in the next book.
An enjoyable read and series.

Love Is Here to Stay
Hazel Island, Book 3
By: Iris Morland
Narrated by: Heather Costa, Jeffrey Kafer

New authors are so much fun to find. Love is Here to Stay is my first listen by Iris Morland and it will not be my last. The perfect mix of small town and enemies to lovers romance, this book is fun! Meet Alexandra. She kissed a man on the beach that she didn't know only to find out he is her new landlord. Aaron was taken by her immediately, but now their attraction is hindered by a raise in her rent. It's just business right? Plus Aaron is dealing with being a new parent to his brother's kids. Life is not easy for him, and this woman is driving him mad! Could she be the one to make his it all better for him? Or will his business practices drive her away? This is a fun one! Between Alex trying to match Aaron up and the craziness of his household, it's a hectic life for Aaron. Morland weaves in the emotions too, with the kids dealing with their new normal. It's packed with everything I love to hear. And now I have to go back and listen to the others in this series!

Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer come in and narrate this one as if they are Alex and Aaron! Alex is strong, but emotional and Costa finds her center, keeping her real. Kafer is the broody, grump that Aaron currently is, and melds him into the man he truly is. Each feeling is clear and goes straight to the heart with these two. Loved their performance.

This is book 3 in a series and it easily stands alone. It stars Alex who is a book store owner in her small town. Its not going well for her business and she just got a new landlord who is raising her rent.

Turns out her new landlord is Aaron and this is very much a hate to love romance. Alex is a bit of a hothead and also is very stubborn and she gives it her all to hate Aaron and also to try and resist their very strong attraction. She does some things I do not agree with as I read the story but she really is fighting against falling for Aaron and she really tries so hard to hate him and resist him.

Aaron is an uncle who has suffered a huge loss as his brother and sister in law have died and he is now responsible for his niece and nephew. I LOVED the teens and I could see why he really needed a family to give these two very lost kids. I just did not like how he treated Alex in this quest to find them a family.

I felt that Alex and Aaron really deserved each other and they did things that I did not agree with but it also proved how right these two are for each other. This was a story that made me cry, laugh and pull my hair out at different times.

I was very much looking forward to reading this book after Luke and Jocelyn’s story! Alex is a real spitfire! I loved her spirit. While I definitely wouldn’t have done some…most…of the things she’d done, she definitely kept things interesting!
I really liked Aaron and I felt for the loss that he and his new charges were dealing with. That being said, he definitely had his moments when it came to Alex! Their first real meeting when they both finally knew who the other was was certainly entertaining, especially after Alex’s memorable email!
I really wanted more on the cancelled book signing, and it seems I’ll be getting answers in the next book. That’ll definitely be interesting! I wonder how Alex will feel when the truth comes out.
I also feel like things with the bookstore were kind of glossed over towards the end. One minute Alex is resigned to closing up and then…nothing. Because Luke took over? Would have liked a bit more of a defined resolution there.
I’m really looking forward to the next book! Not just to see how things play out between Alex and Felicity, but for Felicity herself.

Slow-burn, tension building strangers to enemies to lovers
Love Is Here To Stay (Hazel Island Book 3) by Iris Morland is a very entertaining read and I absolutely enjoyed everything about this couple's journey! Alex and Aaron run hot and cold then supernova hot and back to cold. These two take stubborn to a new level, hold grudges and blast each other repeatedly. While it would seem the hate only builds, the chemistry offsets it and these two find middle ground.
The plot is deep in emotions for both Aaron and Alex. There's much to be learned, about themselves as well as each other and this author really makes them work for it.
Overall, Alex tends to be her own worst enemy, not Aaron. And Aaron, tends to fall back on family responsibilities as excuses not to put in the hard work of winning Alex. But, after realizing some hard truths about themselves, both Alex and Aaron turn to love and find their way to a HEA.

Alex kissed a stranger one night on the beach as she's a free spirit, however, things take a turn after that. See, that man she kissed turned out to be her new landlord is putting her bookstore in jeopardy so she's pretty pissy about that. Aaron moved to Hazel Island after tragedy struck his family & he's left as the guardian to his niece & nephew so dating isn't even on his radar. The thing is, he has to deal with Alex who really doesn't like him despite the fact that they have serious chemistry making for quite the bumpy ride going forward. This story captivated me to keep reading despite the fact that I had some issue with the way these two treated each other, and made some questionable decisions as well. The supporting cast of his new charges made the book better for me, and her friend who was pulled into this chaos, so I'm totally excited for Felicity's book coming next. Anyway, I have all my "me" quirks about books so please decide for yourselves as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

3.5 Stars!!

Being new to Ms.Morland's work i've been looking forward to picking up her books! As soon as i stumbled across the synopsis for this one it caught my eye. I picked it up and got into the Hazel Island world! I really liked this story!

Alex and Aaron's journey was quick to capture my attention! These two shared a memorable kiss then went their separate ways. As they are reunited it isn't quite easy.

I enjoyed the fact that i wasn't quite sure what all to expect with this story. I couldn't wait to see how these two characters would tackle things in their lives. I loved that i felt many different emotions throughout. I just struggled at certain points to get into it fully.

With Love Is Here To Stay, Ms.Morland has created a good read! I'm looking forward to picking up more of her work.

Alex is the little sister of Jocelyn and is just as confident and stubborn. She’s had to prove herself, fighting for her independence from her sister and sometimes that’s hard to let go.
After her toe curling kiss with a stranger on the beach Alex feels a little adrift, as if something is missing in her life but her bookshop is forever in the forefront of her mind, especially now the new landlord has upped the rent.
Aaron is floundering at being a new parent to two teenagers, he’s a ruthless businessman and excels at what he does but this has taken him out of his comfort zone, what he needs is a wife.
With them both fighting for their pride Alex and Aaron struggle with their connection and attraction.
I loved Aaron and Alex together, the Hazel Island characters are more akin to the other series Iris Morland has written ( The Thornton’s and The Younger’s ).
Can’t wait for Felicity’s story.

Alexandra is a stubborn little firecracker, who owns a bookstore, and when she receives ana email from her new landlord that the rent is increasing she comes out all guns blazing. Aaron is a real estate investor, who has moved into town after a tragedy with his niece and nephew for a fresh start. When Aaron and Alex share a kiss on the beach one night, neither knows who the other is as no names are exchanged. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with humor, witty banter, heartbreak, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Little did Alexandra Gray know that the stranger she kissed on the beach would be her new landlord and would increase her rent by fifty percent. As she was struggling as it was, this will make her goals unattainable. Aaron Morrison has moved to Hazel Island with his niece and nephew as a fresh start after his brother and sister-in-law were killed in an accident leaving him to raise them. He was struggling with losing his brother but with two grieving kids made it extremely hard for him. He was drawn to Alexandra from the start but with her fiery temper knows they aren’t compatible. He feels he needs to find a suitable woman to marry to help take care of the kids but is having problems trying to find the right person for the job as his mind keeps going back to Alexandra.

Knee-jerk reaction to this book when I finished was exhaustion. The constant can't want you, want you, can't want you, want you between Alex and Aaron was tiresome. They are constantly fighting themselves and their emotions for each other. Add to that, the bad rap that Alex's sister, Jocelyn gets for caring about her and the whole situation with Felicity dating Aaron with Alex's prodding was a unsettling.

However, the writing is excellent because I could not put the book down. I was so engrossed in the story and these characters. I became invested in their lives and their dramas. So, to have such a reaction to a book marks it as a great read. I recommend this book as well as this series. For a small island there's a lot going on. I look forward to reading Felicity's story next.

Aaron and Alex were two stubborn, independent people. I had a hard time liking them because of what they did to an innocent person while denying their feelings for each other. When they were together they were explosive.

Aaron is a business man and just purchased the building where Alex’ bookstore is. She loathes the fact that he is raising the rent and he sees nothing wrong with it. He is also struggling with taking care of his niece and nephew. She is struggling keeping her bookstore open.

They go through a rollercoaster of emotions to be together and I did end up liking them together. The way she put everything aside when his nephew went missing showed how strong she is. How he proved to her that he loved her was great.

I love this series and can’t wait for the next book. I received an ARC and am leaving my honest, voluntary review.

Like many at this point in time and history, I’m exhausted. I want a book that keeps me engaged, isn’t too long or too short, has relatable characters, and has a storyline that’s not bland. Iris Morland delivers all this and more. There’s laughter, there are sniffles, if not actual tears, and there’s a sense that you’ll miss out if you have to put the book down for any reason. And the main characters, Alex and Aaron, really work. Well, they are not entirely a match made in peaceful heaven, but their dialog and the action would be very brief if they had been. This book works perfectly as a standalone, but others of Morland’s characters are on the periphery if you like visits from old book friends. I look forward to Felicity’s story!

Love isn't a dream

Alex and Aaron meet on the beach one night and unexpectedly share a kiss between strangers. They didn't exchange names or anything personal. Imagine their surprise when they find out that he's her new landlord who is going to raise her bookstore rent and she can't afford it and will be forced to close. As they meet with each other, sparks fly. Even though Aaron is under stress from trying to raise his niece and nephew, he can't resist Alex. They have so many misunderstandings about everything. Will they be able to overcome them and have a real relationship and help raise his brother's children? I like this series and I'm looking forward to the next one previewed at the end of this book.

Alex and Aaron shared a steamy kiss on the beach... and then thought they'd never see each other again. Little did they know that their paths would cross again... with sparks flying of a different nature this time. He's her new landlord and raising her rent 25%. Her bookstore is floundering and she's fighting her attraction, and the "I told you so" from her sometimes overbearing sister. Aaron is struggling trying to raise his niece and nephew while grieving the loss of his older brother and his wife. Plenty of drama to this one as Alex tries fixing up Aaron and her shy roommate, Felicity, while denying her feelings for the man. Once I started reading I didn't want to put the book down. My only complaint? Having to wait for Felicity's story.

A shared kiss that neither could forget should have meant they would be compatible at least, but doesn’t seem to be the case when Alex meets Aaron again in her bookstore then discovers he is her new landlord who wants a hefty rent increase. Throughout this book, they exhibit an unfortunate pattern of advance and retreat, liking each other then hating each other. Both are caught in a cycle of self doubt, not communicating well and then not being able to stay away from each other. It takes both them a while to realize what is in their heart, but is it too late to tell the other and to build a future together? It all comes down to letting love in and then fighting to keep it.

There's a fine line between love and hate or at least annoyance.
Alex is head strong but also a soft heart. She appears strong and confident but she has so much self doubt. And the fact that she leaps before she looks, has many telling her she can be out for herself.
Aaron's whole life changed in an instant. Now he is trying to raise a nice and nephew. And not sure if he can do it without screwing them up.
Aaron and Alex are oil and water but they are so attracted to each other.
This is a story about realizing what's important and having faith.
Alex and Aaron are good for each other if they'd just take a moment and be honest.

I really enjoyed the first 2 books in this series so I was excited for this next one and I was definitely not disappointed. I do have to admit that it took me a little bit to warm up to Aaron (like 2 chapters and only because I wanted to be mad for Alex :) ) but the way these characters were written you just cant help but root for both of them the whole way through. The story was fast paced and flowed well and covered a range of emotions. I had me mad, intrigued, laughing, crying and more through out the book and just had the urge to keep reading. Definitely recommend this book, as well as the whole series if you havent tried it yet.

This is a wonderful story of two strangers giving a kiss to each on the beach on night. Love is Here to Stay is romantic with a few twists for Alex and Arron when they meet again. Alex and Arron are engaging with intense emotional interactions that you are rooting for their HEA. This is a beautifully written heartfelt emotional love story wrought with family drama and conflicts. It is the third book in the Hazel Island series and one that is truly a beautiful story to read. I throughly enjoying reading and recommend reading it.
