Navy SEAL Cole Williams thought he was fine with staying out of his son’s life. After all, that seemed to be what his ex wanted. But when it becomes clear that Kelsey and their baby are in danger, Cole doesn’t hesitate to charge back into their lives—at least for a little while. But as they spend time together, the gruff, battle-hardened SEAL begins to wonder if he should finally make the situation permanent....
Kelsey may have mixed emotions about Cole given their past, but there’s no denying she feels better now that he’s here to protect them. Her father has gone missing, and someone wants to use her and her son as bait to force his return. She knows Cole won’t allow them to be hurt...but the longer he stays with them, the more she fears for her heart.
With time slipping away and danger closing in, Kelsey realizes everything she holds dear is in peril—will they live long enough to listen to their hearts?
It isn’t a big surprise Katie Knight ended up writing romances about the stellar, studdly men of the Navy SEALs; after all, she was a K-9 trainer for the SEALs and met her own Navy SEAL hero husband while preparing one of their K-9 partners for combat. A few years after their marriage, her and hubby decided to retire with their K-9 partner, Sam, to raise their children in the Midwest. It wasn’t long after that before Katie decided to write her own stories featuring the men of the SEAL teams and the women who love them.
When not imagining dangerously romantic scenarios for her heroes and their feisty heroines, Katie enjoys hikes with her husband and Sam, spending time with her children, and long runs (on and off the beach).
Navy SEAL Cole Williams broke up with his girlfriend when she told him she was pregnant. Her decision, since her Dad, Cole’s Navy SEAL CO was never home and she wants stability and safety for her child. Cole didn’t oppose that decision, since he’s not sure about taking a risk on love and commitment . When her Dad disappears and is considered AWOL, he leaves a message for Cole to go to Kelsey and protect her and the baby. As Cole gets a chance to spend time with his son and Kelsey, his love for both is obvious. But his past, and Kelsey’s determination to keep him at arm’s length, has him not trusting his feelings. But the danger is real and he is willing to protect them both with his life. The story was engaging filled with danger and a strong alpha H. As much as I enjoyed Cole from the start, Kelsey took a longer time for me to warm up to her. It’s also a remind that the life of a spouse of those in the military is not an easy one, especially when their loved ones are deployed . I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Valiant by Ms. Katie Knight has a little bit of everything packed into an engaging storyline that comes complete with a HEA for all of us romance readers to enjoy.
As a Navy Seal, Cole knows all about honor and protecting the innocent and when his ex, Kelsey, who is also the Mother to his Son, needs help, you can bet Cole will be right there by their side. No one will harm the Family he has come to love. Solving a mystery surrounding her missing Father, Edwin Reeves, is something that brings these two fated characters together again, and this time it is for good.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Valiant, from The Bad Boy Update, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I would recommend reading this release to any/everyone.
Katie Knight has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Kelsey and Cole. Kelsey and Cole had been together until she became pregnant. They broke up when Cole couldn't commit to her as she wanted. She didn't want to come second to the Seals. She told him that she could take care of the baby by herself and she let him go. Cole has gotten an email from Edwin, her father telling him to protect Kelsey and Eddy, her son. Cole goes to see Kelsey and tells her what he has gotten from her father. She thinks that he can help her find her father. She shows him the note that she had gotten the day before that tells her that she has until the end of the month to find her father or else. Cole tells her that he is going to request leave so that he can protect her and Eddy. He takes her to the base the next morning so he can talk to his commander and get his leave. When he gets in to see Commander Dobson, he is shown some information that doesn't make sense to him about Edwin. He takes pictures of the information when the Commander leaves his office so he can show Kelsey. They work on trying to find out who was setting her father up while Cole tries to keep her and Eddy safe. When she tells him that she has to go out to do a job, he is not happy. He asked her to change her routine for just this one time. If she left at 8 A.M. then she needed to leave at 7:30 A.M. instead and to take a different route. Cole tells her that he is going with her to watch Eddy. While there, a woman who looks like her from the back was kidnapped from the lobby. When Cole hears this, he tells her to pack up her stuff because they were leaving. Kelsey works on things and she finds something from her father's message to Cole. It takes her a while to decode it but it's information on someone who is selling information about the missions of the Seals. Kelsey finds another message and all it said was "Missed you." The Commander has said that the person responsible for the attack on the Seal team was caught and would pay for what they did. Cole doesn't think it is over so he doesn't leave Kelsey and Eddy. Kelsey noticed something wrong with the K from her name in the email from her father to Cole. She takes a closer look at it and finds another note from Edwin. It tells her to meet him at the place she and Cole had their first kiss. Cole has brought in Raymond and David to help him. He and David go check things out while Raymond stays with Kelsey. They come back and Cole gets Kelsey and he takes her back to wait for Edwin. When Edwin shows up, he tells Cole that he needs his help to catch who is behind everything. When Kelsey hears the plan, she is not happy since she just got her father back after two months with him being gone. When Cole and Edwin are ready to go, she makes Cole promise to bring her father back but he can't. He tells her he will try. When he comes back without Edwin, she gets mad at him and says something that hurt him. He says some things that hurt her. Again Cole makes plans that she knows nothing about. When they are ready to leave he explains the plan to her. All she said to him before he left was to bring her father home safe. Cole sends her over to her friend Maureen's house with Raymond to protect her and Eddy. Cole and David go after Edwin when he stops moving and they know where he is. Will Cole be able to bring Edwin back safe to Kelsey? Will Kelsey and Cole work things out and make a go of things for them? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Valiant by Katie Knight is a navy SEALS story with a bit of a twist. The baby is already born. Cole and Kelsey had dated for over two years when she got pregnant. Her father, Cole's superior, had introduced them. When she told him she was pregnant, she also told him she could manage along. That suited him, but now he was back. She and her (their) son were in danger and Edwin Reeves, also a navy man, Kelsey's father, had emailed him to please take care of them. He had been missing for a month. He went immediately. He was working nearby, as after most of a contingent of SEALS had been killed, they were not going on missions for now. Cole knew that the navy suspected Edwin of leaking their position, but he knew that had to be wrong. She was glad to see him when he got there as a threat had been delivered that day. He would not let anything happen to them. Computer expert that she was, she was able to detect an encrypted message in the email he'd sent to Cole. It took several days but she finally de-encrypted it. It was code, phishing for whomever it was who had accessed the files. They went to the base to show Cole's superior. He knew it wasn't evidence, but he hoped it would convince the mad of Edwin Reeves innocence. Then things really started to happen, personally and with the case.
This was a very readable story with decent characters, just as Knight always gives us. It is not deep and meaningful, but good fun, if you can call killing SEALS fun. The plot was decent and somewhat believable. The baby was cute, and another romance bloomed (not Cole and Kelsey) while telling the story. As always, the good guys win and the girl gets the guy. Isn't that why we read romances?

You will fall in love with Cole.....Kelsey is one lucky lady!
Hold on to your panties with this book or they will fall right off once you meet the "sex-on-a-stick" hero that you just want to lick, Cole Williams. Cole is a man's man, a tough as nails, take no prisoners, do what is needed, and keep those you love safe and protected no matter what, type of man. But at his heart, if you go deep down, he is a big touch teddy bear that will love the woman he loves until the day he dies. Kelsey is the lucky woman that he loves and will do anything for, even if it means staying away from her, which that also means staying away from their son. But that proves to be impossible when danger comes knocking at Kelsey's door and Cole knows he needs to act to keep them safe. He will use his training to hunt and take down who needs to be, at any cost to himself.
This story is a wild ride in the best way possible. The story-line is filled with suspense, mystery, drama, romance, love, family, emotion, and a lot of white hot passion. This was a great read that kept me up late into the night to finish it off, as I just could not put it down. I would definitely say Valiant is a RECOMMENDED READ!!!
I liked every bit of this story. From the beginning it caught my attention. Kelsey, single mom, has a beautiful baby boy(Eddy) and is a military brat(which I can relate). Cole, Navy SEAL here to protect his family and help Kelsey’s father in the process. Edwin Reeves, father, grandfather and SEAL officer who has gone AWOL(Absent without leave). In a search to find out what is going on with her father, Kelsey and Cole try to piece together clues as to the events of what happened with fellow SEAL team members. Cole walked away from his family, not knowing what he wanted then, but as he gets to know Eddy, he’s in love with his son and will do anything to protect them. He has feelings that he is not sure how to express them to Kelsey, so they take things slowly as they progress over the time he is there. Determined that her father is innocent, Kelsey uses her skills to find out what she can as to why Edwin went missing and who is to blame. This story was both eventful and loving. It’s a great story line and I like that it focused on the love and the lengths a man will go to protect what’s his.

(4.5) Intrigue, Suspense, Second Chance Romance with Steam. Grabbed me in the beginning and kept me turning pages. Cole gets a text/email from her dad asking him to watch over his daughter and grandson. He shows up at Kesleys and we are off. He knows there is no way her dad was involved in betraying the men and women , the SEALS. Where was her dad, who is the actual culprit (um I guessed before Cole did, but hey, he needed facts :) ) The second chance romance between Kesley and Cole was believe able and understandable. They both have to own up and take responsibility. I loved the fact that Kesley had the brains, the coding brains and had to dumb down for Cole. Not that he was dumb by any means, we have I.T. people in the world and we have our SEALS and others who get it dumb. It brought me to my knees when Cole was battered, bruised struggling to protective and save. The inner strength and determination jumped off the page. I really enjoyed this one and hope to see his fellow SEALS get their story, especially Randy and Kelseys friend.....yes? Thank you for the arc, I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Kelsey and Cole used to date. Until she got pregnant. Cole left and Kelsey went through being a single mother by herself until her dad goes missing and she is suspected to be in danger. Cole comes back to protect them and old sparks start to fly again. This book was just not for me. I actually was excited by the synopsis—I mean, second chance romance and a mystery? What more could you ask for?—but I felt like the mystery part of the book was so built up and the ending wasn’t very strong. I accurately guessed who the traitor was at around 30% of the way through and that shows that it was pretty predictable. Now onto the romance. For people who like angst and *a lot* of push and pull, you’ll probably love this book! I just personally prefer something more lighthearted. There were quite a few moments where both Kelsey and Cole irritated me because they couldn’t get past their problems due to both of their rocky past together and things that happened individually when they were younger. Writing wise, this was a good book, but plot wise, it just wasn’t for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.
One Last Ball. Just WOW! Amazing book. Cole has been hurt by love in his past and refuses to let it happen again. In the process of guarding his heart he left Kelsey behind when she needed him the most…pregnant with his son. She didn’t want him to stay or so she said. Now he’s back to protect them after her father order him to do so. Kelsey doesn’t need Cole around other than to help find and clear her father of crimes against the country. The threats are coming fast and hard towards Kels and their son. After an dangerous attack on Kelsey and the baby Cole is seriously hurt trying to protect his family. Kels is realizing that she doesn’t want to raise their son on her own anymore but, will Cole be around for them? It’s a chance that she’s willing to take. When they get some unexpected information can they trust the source or is it a set for another attempt on their lives? Attention on DECK.

Cole is a SEAL who has known Kelsey for several years. When she told him she was pregnant, he left her, although he felt she had kicked him out. Kelsey’s father is in the Navy and she has always felt that the Navy was more important to him than his family. But when her father suddenly disappears after several SEALs were killed in action, it seems he might be responsible for the deaths. Cole has received a notice from Kelsey’s father, asking him to look after his daughter and grandson, who is Cole’s son. So when he shows up at Kelsey’s apartment, old memories come back to haunt both of them. Now they have to figure out whether her father is involved and if he isn’t, who is responsible. And there have been threats against Kelsey also. Lots of tension, suspense, and danger. Can Cole keep Kelsey ad their son safe while looking for her father? And what will happen between the two of them as they work through this time? Exciting read.

I love me a second chance. Cole and Kelsey are a pair that I feel really needed another shot to get it right. And possibly a third, and fourth… Times of extreme emotion make everything feel bigger, more important. When Kelsey’s father disappears and Cole shows up on her doorstep to protect her and the son he had chosen to never meet, she’s in for a lot of extreme emotions. Clearing her father’s name, unmasking a traitor, and staying alive force our leading couple to trust one another in ways they never have before. Can they resolve their differences while unmasking the villain or will they discover they were right the first time? I liked Cole and Kelsey. Absolutely adored their son. The mystery wasn’t a big surprise for me, but it provides lots of pulse-pounding thrills. Also, we’re introduced to a couple of Cole’s teammates that I hope we’ll get to see again in future books. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Cole, a Navy SEAL, and Kelsey have a baby together. Cole left Kelsey after finding out about her pregnancy. Now he’s back and sent to protect them by her father. Kelsey’s dad is a SEAL and AWOL and believed to be a traitor. While working together to find the real traitors, Cole gets to see his four month son for the first time. Between protecting Kelsey and their son and getting to now his son, Cole and Kelsey reconnect. Will Cole pull his head out of his butt and be the man he used to wish he could be?
This was horribly hard to write. Tried to write without given away too much. It kept you hooked from the first page but the ending was a letdown. I just figured there would have been a little more action between the hero and the bad guy. It was like BOOM and it was over. Anyway I tried I’m sorry if no one can get anything out of this. It is a second chance story.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
Navy SEAL Cole Williams and Kelsey took a frustrating amount of time to realize their true feelings and how important their love was to each of them. There was too much worry over the past and not enough communicating about a future.
Kelsey’s father emails Cole asking for him to go and protect his daughter and grandson, the son Cole has never met. Then Kelsey’s father disappeared. Cole of course will step in to keep her and the baby safe, even though he knows he won’t be staying once the danger has passed. There is a mystery to figure out here. They will need to work together to clear her father’s name since he is suspected of leaking information, find the real traitor, and learn to trust each other for their own survival. Will their being together like this actually bring them closer to staying together? Can Cole really walk away from the son he now adores and the woman who has never left his heart?
Cole and Kelsey were once lovers and the two went their separate ways leaving Kelsey pregnant and later raising their son Eddie. Kelsey’s father is AWOL for allegedly committing crimes against his country. Kelsey’s dad gets a message to Cole to protect Kelsey and their son. Someone is out to get Kelsey and her loved ones are disappearing. Could this be the result of what Kelsey’s dad is AWOL about. Cole is back in Kelsey and his son’s Eddie life and there to protect them and keep them safe. Kelsey doesn’t want anything from Cole except for the clearing her dad’s name. The more time that Kelsey and Cole spend together their hearts are getting reacquainted with each other. The chemistry between Cole and Kelsey is awesome.
Who is targeting Kelsey, is it because of her dad, can Cole protect his family and keep the enemy at bay, will Cole and Kelsey get the second chance they deserve?
Kelsey and Cole have had a rocky road in their relationship. He is a SEAL whose missions can last quite a while, numerous times a year. Her father was also one and she saw how it affected her mother. Big decisions were maybe wrong at the time but maybe they were not quite ready for the full family life yet. Now, her dad is missing and Cole receives an email saying that he needs to guard Kelsey and their son. The characters are all a tight-knit group, depending on each other to find the truth. A roller coaster ride of great backstories, banter, arguments, apologies, tension, danger, secrets, encrypted files, kidnapping, assaults, scapegoats and more. Loved the combo of Cole and Kelsey, even if it took they quite a while to get it right. Oh, those miscommunications and misunderstandings. Great ending and futures.

Really liked how this story involving Cole and Kelsey developed. They’d had a relationship that appeared to have fizzled out after Cole misunderstood what Kelsey really was asking for. He appears back into her life after her SEAL Commander father goes missing, however, something isn’t adding up and it’s really upto Cole to find out what. At the same he also needs to protect not just Kelsey but their infant son! When the unmasking of the perpetrator happens midway through the story, l must admit that l thought that this was too early and l was proved correct, the person arrested was, in fact, the ‘stool pigeon’ for the real person. A really exciting story, loved reading it. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cole received a text message from Edwin asking him to look out for Kelsey and Eddy. Cole and Kelsey were an item until she told him she was pregnant and could manage on her own. Now because her father had gone missing and was accused of passing information that led to a group of navy seals getting killed he feared for her safety. This is the first time Cole had seen his son and at first didn’t look at him but then they bonded. While Kelsey tried to crack the code in the message he looked after their son. I couldn’t put this book down and stayed up until the early hours reading to finish it. It contains blackmail, adventure and love. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given
Kelsey and Cole will grab your heart in this second chance romance. Her father was his superior in the Navy Seals and he had introduced them. When she became pregnant she insisted that she could raise the baby alone and his was OK with that. Things get tense when some seals and killed and her father was under suspicion of exposing their location. This put Kelsey and their son in danger. Cole comes to the rescue to protect them and help clear her father. Their chemistry is reunited and things get a little steamy. This was a good book with likable characters. Does her father get cleared? Do they find the bad guy/guys? Do they get their happily ever after and become a family? I read an advance copy via Bad Boy Updates and voluntarily chose to review it.
A second chance Valiant by Katie Knight is a sweet and steamy romance with a bit of suspense, danger and mystery to make this couple’s second chance quite exciting. An alpha SEAL hero and a fiercely independent heroine are brought together as Kelsey is in danger and Cole has been asked to provide protection. With imminent danger, Cole and Kelsey along with their infant son, are forced into constant, close proximity. Overall, all the elements that brought Cole and Kelsey back together provides them with a second chance opportunity. Their journey is sweet and steamy, but not exactly smooth. Cole is the hero in every way! And their HEA is swoon worthy too. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I love a SEAL romance! Cole left Kelsey for his SEAL team because it was what he thought she wanted. Cole told himself this was best for both of them, even if it meant he never met his son. Communication was never his best trait, though Kelsey was equally to blame. Now her father is missing and Cole is back in her life, whether she wants him there or not. The more time they spend together the more she begins to question her past decisions. Cole is determined to protect his family, and leave once they are safe. He soon begins to realize that he may not want to go back to his old life, but non of that matters while Kelsey and his son are in danger. Love the intrigue, their past, the love that really never went away, I just loved their story! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.
Kelsey and Cole had a previous relationship, she became pregnant with his son, through miscommunication they split up and she's raised Eddy on her own. Now her father, a Seal like Cole, has disappeared and sent an email to Cole to protect her and their son. Cole immediately goes to help her, although she thinks she can manage on her own, even though she's received an anonymous note, delivered to her door. Things escalate and Cole reports to the base commander and takes leave.

Cole WIlliams is an active-duty SEAL who has been asked to guard his ex-girlfriend, Kelsey and THEIR son, by her father when he drops out of sight while investigating corruption in the Navy. Yea, this isn't awkward or anything because of how they broke off their relationship after she told him she was pregnant. Cole never wanted a family or a relationship even though he was definitely in love with Kelsey, but past experiences have taught him that relationships don't last. Spending time with Kelsey and their son, Eddy is surprisingly natural even with danger lurking. Can they get their HEA?.

A year ago Navy SEAL Cole Williams had believed that his girl friend didn't want him to stay in her life when she told him that she was pregnant. She said that she would manage fine on her own, and that he shouldn't interrupt his career as a SEAL. He hadn't seen her since until he received an email from her father, a SEAL, asking Cole to protect her and his son. Kelsey's father is AWOL and suspected of leaking information that got a team of SEALs killed. Then Kelsey is threatened. Can Cole keep Kelsey and his son safe?
I loved these characters.

Kelsey is a single mom raising her little boy, Eddie. When she told Cole, a navy SEAL that she was pregnant she basically told him that she could raise Eddie alone so he left. Now Kelsey and her son need protecting. Her father is also a SEAL and has gone AWOL. He is being blamed for an attack on a SEAL team where almost the whole team were killed. He sent an email to Cole telling him to protect his daughter and grandson. This brings Kelsey and Cole in the same place together. What an absolutely fabulous story this was. I have never read a book by this author before but this certainly won't be my last.
Cole shows up on Kelsey's doorstep with an email from her dad asking him to protect his daughter and grandson, Cole's son. At first Kelsey isn't keen on letting him near Eddy because of how he left things when she told him she was pregnant. This book had a lot of suspense and action all the while serving an underlying tension between Kelsey and Cole. They are able to work out the mystery and solve the reason her father went AWOL. During this time they were realizing that they had feelings for each other and get the HEA.

Kelsey is being threatened and people seem to be disappearing. Cole goes to protect Kelsey and Eddy. Eddy is his son. Can they figure out who is behind the disappearances? What happened to Edwin? Will they get to be the family they should be? I had to read to find out and this is a great story and who doesn't like a big bad protective seal?.

Cole gets an email from Kelsey’s father Edwin, that she and her son, Eddy need to be protected while he is awol. He hasn’t seen her since they broke up when she told him she was pregnant and he wouldn’t commit. Well, he is Eddy’s father and he is overwhelmed with feelings he didn’t know he had. She is working with her father to uncover a traitor that caused a high fatality on a Seal mission. He is bonding with his son while keeping guard and discovering his love for her. Well written with lots of intrigue and action.

Cole gets an email from her father asking him to protect them and he comes back into their lives. Cole helps Kelsey search for her missing father as things become complicate all around. Will they find her father? Is this a second chance for them?

This book had me pulled in from the first sentence. It was action-packed and I could not put it down. It reminded me of a Colleen Hoover novel in a lot of ways, so of course I was hooked. This story tugged on my heartstrings while I was also flipping the pages so fast to find out what happened next. I found some of the dialogue cringey though which was enough to prevent this from being five stars. I still highly recommend it though if you enjoy romance stories with a lot of action. Thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review!
