For some people, the "Fake it 'til you make it" mantra works. For Kieran Fairfields, it doesn't. Because no matter how much he pretends to be an alpha, no matter how much he looks like an alpha, he... isn't one.
But his job as a college sports coach requires it. And that one alpha student, Chase Summers - he thinks Kieran is an alpha, too.
It's a good thing they butt heads so much. It's also a good thing that Chase is graduating soon. Because the fewer chances Chase has to discover his secret, the less likely it is that Kieran's heart will be broken.
This is a super-domestic 92k romance novel with MPreg, hilarious friend chats and so many wonderful presents—warning for sappy mushy goodness! Also, Kieran needs a hug.

I have been waiting for Kieran's story since we first met him and Jesse from the facility. He was the mysterious Alpha-looking Omega who looked after his fellow Omega professors. I am finally glad to be able to read his story and was not disappointed. Kieran falls for Chase but keeps him at arm's length, hiding his true identity, and it hurts to see him want to have what his fellow omegas have, but because of what happened to him, he views himself as unworthy of love and a family.
Chase left a bad taste in my mouth at the beginning (Kieran's treatment of him didn't help), but I ended up really liking him. He was just who Kieran needed in order to start to see himself as someone who was deserving. I love how he accepted him 100% and the way he showered Kieran with endearment and treated him exactly like an omega. He saw through his facade and broke down his walls.
Overall, it was a great read; it was low angst and sweet with a lot of spice. I can't wait for Caulin's story next.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream...
I love Anna's books. I've read almost every single one of them, but she got me in this one.
I'm never gonna eat ice cream that's already been opened again.
In the last of the professor series, we have Kieran, who was one of the people that was tortured in the same place as the others. He was an omega who was literally turned into presenting as an alpha. Not like the fireman, who still looked like an alpha but had omega parts. Needless to say he had trust issues.
He meets a student who is 19 and has anonymous sex through a glory hole and falls for him. Chase, the alpha, does not know about K being an omega, so tries to out alpha him. Kieran is the colleges soccer coach and treats Chase rather badly.
Years pass, then these dingdongs get together and yall... The kinks were so numerous that I was wondering if I was gonna have to get this on smash like her awesome other books.
Lets just say that carrots are now medical devices, I trust no ice cream, and what I read about milk made me hope it pops up in the next noncon.
Absolutely LOVED the first half of the book and then it started going downhill. (Just my opinion: I kinda wish the book was divided into 2 so that at least I would rate the first one ~4.5). The first part was HOT, there were quite a few issues with the characters that I ignored since the story was great. But it just started going downhill after the halfway mark, I'm writing this a few days and books after reading this but a few things that come to my mind: the coach is trying to be like "I'm not going to force him to take care of the baby so that I'm not gonna be a burden, he doesn't resent us etc." but at the same time (while yes he can't control when his heat comes) the way he went about it first and after it happened means he pretty much got pregnant on purpose and he was also not gonna tell him is about it at all.
I absolutely loved their relationship dynamic (even the coach staying when knowing it was the student on the other side, that first time) but after the student got to know the secret, everything was alright for him and there wasn't enough conflict going on after the identity reveal (imo/for my taste), it's like he did a whole 180°... Then there's the whole thing about the student changing his body so that the coach wouldn't be the only one with "wrong" body parts for their gender which like wtfff??? I understand wanting your partner not to feel alone in their ig differences, but I can't imagine being ok with my partner making unnecessary changes (and potentially damaging changes) to their bodies just to make me feel better. I understand the coach has a lot of issues around his changes but having your partner to something traumatic to their body (although to significantly different levels) should not be the solution to that. There's also the hiding stuff by the coach which I understood but again after the ~50% mark it started to get repetitive...
In short it had a few issues but the first half was so good that I was more than ok with ignoring those small issues, but after ~50% it started to get worse and since the relationship dynamics also changed, I skim read the rest.
That was disappointing. I struggled through this book. No chemistry, no logic ... It was OTP. All the book in this series are a little OTP but this one kind of pisses me off. I was close to DNFing it too many times.
Not sure how Anna’s gonna top this one. Kieran and Chase may be one of my favorite couples out of all the Meadowfall/ Meadow street world. The slow yet fast burn. The kinky spice is soooo nice. Seeing everything unfold and line up for them together was so heartwarming. I am certain this will be a reread title for me. 5/5 would recommend and buy a physical copy for my shelf.
The Meadowfalls Professors series continues with the story of the long-awaited omega, Coach Kieran. Everyone in their small group of professor Omega has their Alpha’s except Kieran. But Kieran looks like an Alpha to keep his job as a coach, so why would an alpha be looking to mate him?
Well, when a student of Kieran’s turns up, Chase is just the man for Kieran. What a story they have to tell. I loved Chase who is sweet to Kieran even with all the memories and self-esteem problems Kieran has. Kieran couldn’t believe Chase wanted him as his omega, but Chase was persistent in his pursuit to capture Kieran’s heart. I loved the HEA these two wonderful men deserved. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced read copy of this book.
Love starts at the Wine Shack This was so delicious I could eat it with a spoon!!! I am totally enamored with Kieran and Chase. I really enjoyed the reunion with past characters , because they feel like family ' warm and comforting and sassy and fun. I couldn't quit smirking about the Wineshack reference. Lol. This author has the talent to make a glory hole scene romantic!! I loved how devoted Chase was to parenting and sharing the experience with Kieran. He really went the extra mile. Always a satisfying epilogue leaving me wanting more Meadowfall!!!
Kieran has been a mystery from book 1. It was clear that something happened to him in his past, but the extent of it was unknown. Holy hell, I would never have guessed what it really was! Poor Kieran, such a gentle soul, he so deserved his HEA.
It may have started unconventionally, and may have been a rocky road, but Chase is perfect for him and I loved watching them both slowly grow and heal together.
I felt so sorry for Kieran. It had to be so hard for him to hide who he was and hide all his desires. That can be really tough on a person. But he was also able to protect his friends, and to scare off people who wanted to pick on other omegas.
Chase was definitely determined, and it showed in a whole lot of ways. I really liked the fact that he was so stubborn and that he was ready to hang with the things that he wanted to have.
I loved the setup for this book, Kieran and Chase have incredible chemistry with their teasing. This book is high on the steam and very relationship focused, which was great for a while but some aspects became repetitive.
The introduction to Kieran and Chase is amazing, jumps right into that first glimpse of them. It has a few time skips across the start, as these two don't get together until Chase final year. But the build up over the years is amazing and I couldn't wait for them to finally collide with all the reveals.
Honestly the steam is amazing and each scene is pretty unique, as these two explore a lot and their dynamic is heated. I liked seeing their relationship build up over time and getting to know one another behind the scenes.
Kierans history is heartbreaking, his struggle with his appearance and feeling like he wasn't enough. Chase's support of him is wonderful and really gives those hurt/comfort feels, as Kieran holds back a lot.
Must admit it got a little frustrating eventually in certain areas, with Kierans continuous lack of trust and his dishonesty. I was worried for a moment on a certain part involving the pregnancy aspect, but luckily Chase is able to read Kieran like a book and pull him out of his shell to speak the truth.
Got to mention the gifts Chase gets Kieran, the lace, nail polish and gorgeous art. Along with showing his support in wearing the nail polish, giving Kieran the nudge to be himself too. The little details are so sweet between these two, can't help but adore them.
The omega friend group are wonderful as always. Along with their project and taking down Zim at last. Oh and I really enjoyed Gardner, he seemed interesting along with Ingle.
Overall an entertaining read with all the happy ending feels for these two & their family, the epilogue is adorable and sweet glimpse into the future 💛
I just started reading omegaverse a few weeks back and I loved this one!
Kieran Fairfields, a college soccer coach, has a secret. He's a big as an alpha, but he's actually an omega. Due to horrible experiments done to his body, he's larger than the average omega, but he really yearns to feel pretty, paint his nails and wear lace panties like any other omega.
Chase Summers finds out his secret about the lace, making Keiran afraid he'll tell. So, he's hard on Chase, who plays soccer for the team he coaches. Chase can't figure out why, even though he's sworn he would never tell anyone about the lace.
Three years of butting heads and antagonistic behavior comes to a head when Chase figures out WHY Kieran likes lace and painted nails. Then he realizes that Kieran is the omega for him.
I liked how easy of a read this was, even though it's over 400 pages. Not much angst, more of a slowish burn. Their love story is wonderful though. Chase tries over and over to make Kieran feel pretty and tells him often. He buys him gifts and welcomes him into his family. Poor Kieran has a hard time trusting, so it takes a while for him to admit that Chase is his alpha. When he does, he's so happy that I felt a smile stretch across my face.
The last chapter kinda threw me off and took me out of the story a bit, as it's not something I was expecting and didn't really enjoy, but it was at the way end. Also, the time jumps aren't highlighted until a few sentences into a certain chapter, so it took me a minute to realize we were years in the future sometimes. But again, small issue. The book overall was really good. If you enjoy omegaverse, mpreg, found family and glory holes, pick this one up! Anna Winehart will be an author who's books I pick up without hesitation.
DNF 78%. Book started out so strong! It started out angsty with some hurt/comfort, longing and really steamy scenes. I was convinced it was going to be a 4 or 5 star. Then at the 50% mark it was like I was reading a completely different book. Both MMC got annoying, the sex got weird and everything else got boring. I tried to push through but ultimately I gave up when I realized the characters from the first half of the book weren’t coming up.
Weird. I was into the beginning. I thought the gender identity theme was very interesting and I liked the enemies to lovers troupe. But Anna Wineheart is a kinky b***ch and things just got too weird for me. Not that there's anything wrong with lactating men and carrot sex, it's just not my wheelhouse. I wound up skimming a lot.
Character Chemistry: They’re all very clearly written for each other, so the sweetness is inescapable
Plot: Older omega professor (/coach), pining for love and happiness, has irresponsible pants feels for a hot alpha student (who naturally goes to claim what’s his with no holds barred)
Overall: I could probably talk about concerning elements of these books all day, but gosh did they ever stroke my id
Oh my word.
The whole thing about Kieran is that he is an omega who was abducted and experimented on such that he has been turned into an alpha. Like, the scientists removed his testicles and replaced them with someone else’s alpha testicles. (This doesn’t actually work, FYI, so don’t try it.) Among other things. Now, Kieran is a coach at Meadowfall, and he’s pretty sure the only way he can be the coach is because he appears to be an alpha. But he absolutely hates his body, hates how he can never trust anyone enough to be in a relationship with them because they could blackmail him. So the only way he really gets to satisfy his omega side is by visiting the local glory hole. Kieran’s life is just unbelievably sad.
BUT. Chase (who has been appearing in the series pretty regularly so far) is going through his own whatever and decides to check out this glory hole situation. He has no idea how to actually behave at a glory hole, so he talks too much and calls his partner sweetheart. The minute Kieran hears Chase through the divider, he knows what’s up, the part of his heart that wishes breaks at being called sweetheart by Chase because he can never, ever have that reality. Until Chase figures Kieran out.
Honestly, if we set aside all the power dynamic stuff in a player/coach age gap romance (and some other stuff I’ll get into below), the way that Chase makes room and nudges Kieran to make room for Kieran to be more comfortable with his body is pretty great. That said, there’s a lot in this book that rests on an emotionally immature framework, so the story definitely relies heavily on the kinky and the forbidden and less on the, you know, healthy emotional growth of the protagonists. But really, that is very on brand for this series and should be considered a feature, not a bug.
Aaaaand then Chase engages in a little sounding with Kieran using his pinkie at the dinner table with his family sitting across from them. 😶
I LOVED Chase and Kieran together! Now why 3.5 stars? I loved the characters so my rating doesn’t really have to do with the characters themselves and more to do with parts of the story that I felt were left unanswered or left out. Overall I do definitely recommend reading Chase and Kieran’s story!
1 - I loved Kieran and I loved that Chase’s parents practically took him in as their own son from their first meeting and I just wish there had been more interactions with them acting like his parents. Yes, that would have made the book more angsty than it already is but the outcome would have been sooo sweet! I just loved how Terry and Oscar treated Kieran, especially after how Kieran’s own parents treated him.
2 - I wish there had been more of Gardner and Ingles reactions finding out Kieran’s secrets, especially Gardner. I do hope they get a book together though because I honestly ship them together! If they do get a book I hope how they feel about Kieran’s secrets are mentioned so I can see their thoughts on it, even if it’s not mentioned to Kieran.
3 - If you haven’t read and don’t plan to read Phoenix Blue’s book (Meadow Street Brothers Book 4) then this probably won’t be a big deal as you haven’t connected with the character. I’m mentioning this as if you haven’t and don’t plan to read Phoenix’s book you can see my review as a straight 4 instead of the 3.5 that I’ve rated it and you are more than welcome tho skip over this paragraph of my review. There was one scene in this book that Phoenix made an appearance that made him seem judgmental of the way Kieran looks. It was a very quick scene and they didn’t talk to each other but being that I have connected with Phinny’s way of thinking (albeit, a long time ago so maybe I’m not remembering right) I just felt that it was out of character for Phinny to judge the way he did and being that he never made another appearance and it wasn’t mentioned again, there was no explanation as to why he reacted to Kieran the way he did. I LOVED Phoenix’s book (rated it 5 stars) and I don’t want to think bad of him, so I do wish that it had been explained why he reacted the way he did. If it had been a complete stranger instead of Phoenix or any other previous characters I would have given the book a straight 4 stars instead of a 3.5.
~~~ I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review ~~~
Kieran is secretly an Omega, he works a job that is typical and Alpha position, as a soccer coach. He doesn’t look like an Omega and spends all his time protecting his secret. He is covered in scars after being kidnapped as a teen and experimented on for 10 years. These experiments gave him so Alpha hormones and so changed his look to be bulkier, and he works out hard to keep that appearance.
He uses that appearance to help his Omega friends with jerk Alphas, but longs for an Alpha of his own. But he doesn’t believe he worthy, nor is it easy for him to trust Alphas when that is who kidnapped him.
In comes Chase, who, at the gym first day of semester, sees Kieran split his pants and see that he is wearing lace underwear. When it turns out Chase is on the soccer team, Kieran puts him through his paces. Despite the niggling attraction, he just has to get through 4 years and Chase will be gone. The two have a chance encounter at a glory hole - Keiran realising it is Chase and holds that secret for years. Chase, never stops thinking of the Omega through the wall.
“Fairfields wasn’t bummed because he didn’t meet alpha standards. No, he was upset because he didn’t look like a regular omega. And that made Chase’s heart hurt.”
Chase eventually learns at a different hole years later, that it is Keiran - and thus figuring out his Omega secret. Chase wants him, to be his, to protect him. They navigate a new relationship, Chase working to earn Kieran’s trust, to make him believe that he thinks he is beautiful.
It is such a sweet story of love, and trust and has some great spicy scenes!
““You like being called that, huh?” Chase murmured. “You don’t mind ‘babe’. But every time I call you ‘sweetie’, it’s like I’m breaking you apart and putting you back together again.” Kieran sobbed for breath, his eyes prickling. How did he... “Sweetie,” Chase whispered. A low, broken whimper slipped out of Kieran’s throat. “You don’t know how—how long I’ve waited to—to hear that again,” he choked.”
So happy for Kieran to finally have his own story as he's been quietly in the background so far in this series. Chase is the perfect alpha for his, stubborn in his determination to show Kieran that he wants him, now and for forever. Kieran's been through so much though, what with his time and experience at The Facility, with how both his insides and outsides have been altered so he's permanently of the belief that he's not enough, not someone anyone else would want. That doesn't stop Chase, though, at least once he finds out that Kieran shares his attraction. However, it's a while before that happens, Kieran determined to stand alone and not put himself on another. The time lapses work well, showing how both are going on with their daily lives but still pining away. I was surprised that there wasn't much in the way of talk about The Facility but at the same time it's understandable with Kieran trying to move on. The other professors are just as much fun here as they've been in the rest of the series, mostly over text, but they still manage to show their love and support as well as poke fun at each other. Meadowfalls Professors has been a lot of fun to read so far and it continues with The Secret Omega. Kieran has several different secret ways to try and help himself feel more like an omega whilst presenting as alpha and Chase is more than happy to help with those, as well as proving just who is alpha when it comes to them being together. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
I promise I'll get to an actual review but I need to say something first. Child, this book was long. Oh dear lord, was this book long. And I knew that going in because of the word count and Anna herself said it was a chonky book but oh Lord did this take me awhile to read. Here's why.
First, I need to make a clear that I really liked this book and I like Anna Wineheart's writing a lot. It's a bit ridiculous, you got to suspend your belief more than a little, but it's fun, it's cute, and the smut is dirty. All of that is a compliment. But because of Kieran's mistrust in alphas and self-worth issues, we spent a lot of time with him pushing back against Chase. It's all warranted and the book be weird if it wasn't there. That being said, had this book been maybe 100 pages shorter, I feel like that pushback wouldn't have been as exhausting as it was. There were times where it was a lot and I admittedly did skip some of it.
But other than that I really liked this book. Like I said, it's ridiculous and fun and as someone who reads for entertainment, that's the most I can ask for. I like to see in the other omega's and I'm excited to go back and read their books. If for no other reason than the smut because my God was it good. Anyways, four stars because I wish Meadowfall was real because I would move so fast.
Now, I will say that I was really close to dnf-ing this one. Which, I will admit, is crazy in light of the rating. My reasoning is that the first 25% of this book is UNBEARABLE. It is so awful to read about the alpha whoring it out every which way, while his omega desperately harbors his secret crush on him. It was so, so incredibly awful to have to force my way through that but when they finally got together, it all sky rocketed.
That was, in large part for the rest of the story, keeping me from bouncing between 4 and 5. But I will say, that I do believe this is a 5 despite the atrocious beginning. I found the characters so lovable and adorable and them being together was just so fucking cute. I loved that the alpha was so sweet towards his omega, and that the omega felt like he could just… exist.
It really was sweet…
BUT, why did there need to be that experiment side plot. I get it was to add characterization or whatever, but I always find it unbelievable when these small town romances attempt to create this huge mastermind crime subplot. It’s so… contrived and annoying. I get what it was meant to do, but I would have been a lot happier had the omega just… looked like an alpha and been born that way. I mean of the billions of people born in this universe, one of their genes had to have mutated to cause them to look like an alpha.
I think this was the sweetest Anna Wineheart book I have ever read. It still has the same unsure feelings, misunderstandings, and "am I good enough" plot points. But there was no really heavy angst or betrayal. I think we got a lot of that in Jesse's story (love him!), so that we didn't really need to rehash it all with Kieran. I know his experience was different but I am glad we didn't need all of the details again. Poor guys, ugh it hurts to hear what they went through. Kieran is strong, brave, sweet, and finally gets the love he deserves. Chase is up for the challenge of dealing with his grumpy coach. He slowly discovers over his college career who Kieran truly is, and he will do anything to make Kieran happy. The text chats with the other professors were hilarious and it was nice seeing characters throughout the Meadowfall world pop in during the story. I love the crazy, sexy ideas Anna comes up with for her main characters. And yay! Loved the hand drawn picture!
The Omega Circle are a hoot! Kieran, was the coach of the soccor team. His body type gave the impression he was an Alpha. He never corroborated or denied, he just let those outside the Omega Circle assume. Chase, was a freshman student who played soccer. He had the misfortune to observe an embarrassing incident Coach Kieran experienced. Kieran took up residence, rent free in Chase's head. Kieran, struggled with wanting to live Omega while looking Alpha. Chase struggled with being attracted to seemingly Alpha Coach Kieran while wanting an Omega mate, in his future. Their relationship, had many challenges, coach/athlete, the age gap, their perceived designations, plus Kieran was noticably hard coaching Chase. Kieran has a tortured past that influences him as a man and an omega/alpha. Can he resolve his history? Will he be able to share his story? This was a solid story. Lots of unanswered questions, I would have preferred answered. Chase and Kieran were good characters, the Professors are a hoot! Nicely done.
Finally, Kieran gets his alpha. I have had such high hopes for Kieran’s story and Anna did not disappoint.
I absolutely love that we got to go back to the beginning of the their story and see how it all played out. Kieran had always been my favorite of the omega circle and I have been eagerly awaiting his HEA. Chase was this perfect specimen who was cocky but genuine, flirty but sincere and perfect for the very unique Kieran. Reading about the things that Kieran had been through and the reasons for his scars was utterly heartbreaking. He needed someone who would see beneath the exterior and really truly see him for who he was. Chase did this perfectly, even when Kieran was fighting him the whole way.
I can’t fail to mention how utterly steamy this book is either. Chase was all about pleasing his omega in a whole host of ways. And the filthy, filthy mouth on Chase was delicious. If you have a chance to read the bonus scenes, please do. They make these two even sweeter and sexier together.
I am so happy this book was everything I wanted for Kieran. I’m so glad that Chase was the perfect alpha for him. This book left me with a highly satisfied HEA and a smile on my face.
*************SPOILERS************** *** *** *** *** *** *** This is a first for me by this Author. I really enjoyed this book it was diffrent I ah e not read alpt of mpreg. Books but I liked it. What I didn't like that why I gave it 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is because I hated that the Alpha MC keep sleeping around. I know they were not together but he was thinking and looking for his mystery omega. I hated the MC omega had to suffer knowing he was sleeping around and couldn't do anything about it, I know it not cheating but my heart hurt for the poor omega. I feel like the Alpha should have looked for him and harder. I feel because he disliked the omega and thought he was an Alpha that he was blind by the clues that told him that the "Alpha" was really his omega. I guess we can't get everything we won't in one book, but beside that I really glad I still keep reading even after the Alpha slept around and daw the HEA.
