Witches of Nightfall #2

My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby

Rate this book
Return to Nightfall, New Hampshire for Baron and Annie's love story!

Turns out I'm not allergic to our new house kraken's cooking. I'm pregnant, and I know enough about sexy, broody, tortured vampires to guess the father won’t be excited about our…unexpected development.

After he took my ancient V-Card amongst a chorus of O's, Baron insisted he'd made a terrible mistake. He told me to get out of his swamp and stay as far away from him as I can get—considering we both live in the same, small supernatural town.

He practically gave me a “get knocked up with my baby and keep it a secret for as long as you want” free card.

Of course, I’ll tell him the truth eventually, once I convince him he isn’t the monster he thinks he is. Once I make him see that he’s a wonderful, kind, generous man who deserves love and all the happiness he’s pushed away for so, so long.

And that he deserves it with me, Annie Wonderfully, the woman who’s going to change his sad, lonely life.
Just wait and see…

Cute and fluffy story that doesn't take itself too seriously about a woman who becomes miraculously pregnant by a broody vampire in a small town full of supernatural characters. I actually really like that this doesn't sacrifice the plot for the sake of the romance. There's an overarching plot that's been running since the first book in the series about an unknown spy amongst the clan, and perhaps an upcoming leadership change.

I also really like Annie and Baron. Annie is just an all round nice girl who just wants a big family and to make everyone happy. Baron is the typical tortured soul, hung up on his past to the point where he'll sacrifice his own happiness to make sure he stays sad and moody. Annie brings out a side of him no one has seen in a long time.

Yes, parts of the storyline are a bit campy and all too convenient and happy, but in this case I was expecting an easy plot and that's exactly what I got.

So much fun…

This series has been all about embracing the unexpected. Part fantasy and paranormal I love how family and love is always at the center of it all. The Wonderfully sisters are different. From their supernatural powers – or ones they are growing into – they’ve come home to find their place. Annie has always been the strong, quiet one yet now she was reaching out to get what she’d always wanted… What she knew he would want too…

Hiding from his past, Baron knew Annie had no place in his future. Atoning for sins centuries old, he would not fall in love. He would not be happy. Of course, Annie had a few things to say about that…

Quirky and funny, their courtship showed that the heart always knew best. I laughed, even as my heart hurt with theirs. They had to fight for what they wanted and that push/pull had all the steamy goodness and witchy wonderfulness in abundance.

My new favourite secondary character was an unexpected guardian angel (but with more arms… or legs?). Regardless, she squished my heart with her devotion…

The story arc is not finished as a dangerous mystery is still unfolding. Can’t wait to get back to Nightfall! ~Diane, 5 stars

Grumpy hero and sunshine heroine are my favorite combo

This series just gets better with each book. I just loved reading about Grumpus Baron and happy sweet Annie. Their unexpected and miraculous pregnancy is the reason Annie finally decided to go after what she most wanted, a forever with Baron. Annie Wonderfully and her sisters recently found out they are witches from a long line of witches and moved to the supernatural town of Nightfall to live in the falling down familial home. Baron Blackmore is a 200 year old vampire who believes his past mistakes make him irredeemable and is not interested in a relationship and spends his time suffering alone in cabin in the swamp. An errand during a freak snowstorm and near death from hypothermia results in a one night stand an accidental pregnancy that should be impossible. Now that she knows she’s pregnant, Annie is determined to be a family with Baron and thus the HEA journey begins. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - mildly dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. On their way to their HEA, there is a small bit of angst and there is growth for both characters. The book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, sexy times, real life issues, imperfect characters, laugh out loud moments, and so much love. So expect to laugh, swoon, cry, cringe, and cheer. I am excited to read the next book in this series teased about in the epilogue. I willingly reviewed an early copy of this book.

Baron and Annie's story in My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby was a fun, steamy, paranormal rom-com that I devoured in one sitting. I loved returning to the fictional small town of Nighfall. The secret baby trope is often found in the rom-com setting but what sets this story apart from others is that Annie becomes pregnant by a 200 year old vampire, which should be impossible and makes for a unexpected, wonderful time. Although this story is set in a fantasy, paranormal world I think Annie and Baron were both very relatable characters. Baron and his justified insecurities and Annie’s character growth and how she really came into her own. Her confidence grew leaps and bounds, and I loved that. Baron grumpiness was off set by Annie sunny personality and I loved their connection once Baron let’s his guard down. The pacing of their love story was so perfectly done. The side characters in this one add so much to the story as well. The quirky, funny dialogue was the best. I can’t wait for the next one!

What a delightfully charming paranormal romcom! Annie and Baron were so cute together and their chemistry was instant. I loved how broody and grumpy Baron was. He was so reluctant to accept love and I really enjoyed how Annie was determined to make him see he was worthy of it. Annie was sunny, quirky, sassy bookish witch who yearned for a soul mate and family and ends up with a surprise miraculous pregnancy from one passionate night with Baron. This story was captivating, funny and cute. I enjoyed how Annie’s introverted, quite personality slowing grew into a confident & persistent person. She knew Baron was the one and she went for it and helped him open himself to love again. Overall I loved every detail and can’t wait to read more about the Wonderfully sisters.

Entertaining fantasy listening 🎶🔰

Another will written fantasy world 🌎 vampire haunting horror romantic family and friends relationships novel by Bella Jacobs (The Wonderful Witches of Nightfall New Hampshire book two). Annie and Baron are having a romantic relationship which leads to Annie being pregnant but how? Vampires can't have babies? They get married and nine months later a baby 🚼 girl. I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of fantasy novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to books 📚. 2022 👑👒😕

My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby was an entertaining and mystical romantic adventure that I could not put down! I loved that we got to return to the paranormal town of Nightfall! I am a sucker for an accidental pregnancy romance, and Annie and Baron’s story did not disappoint! I love that a Grumpus broody vampire falls for a determined sassy virgin witch (so swoony!). I devoured this book in one sitting because I simply couldn’t get enough of Baron and Annie along with Kitty the kraken, Darcy, Blaire,Casey, Amy, and so many more residents of Nightfall. This book starts off HOT, and then Annie’s persistence to make Baron see his self worth and love was so endearing! Of course along with the love, there is the added element of mystery as once again some dangerous events occur that must to be solved to ensure everyone’s safety!

Overall, I loved this book! If you are fan a fun paranormal romance with a hunky selfless vampire, a fierce determined book loving witch, catching up with all your fav Nightfall characters, a protective caring kraken, a secret baby, steamy times in a secluded cabin, danger, mystery, demons, and a HEA that proves you can start over and learn to love again, then you will love Annie and Baron’s story! I always look forward to more from Bella Jacobs!

**Audio Review**
My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby by Bella Jacobs was a fang-tastic good time in audio! Lili Valente and Shane East narrate this audio, and were the perfect pairing for Annie and Baron. Lili conveyed Annie's witty, determined, and passionate sides perfectly! She was such a ray of sunshine (no pun intended) to Baron's dark and broody side! Shane East was downright delectable as grumpy, moody, and loyal Baron! Both narrators also did an amazing job showcasing Annie and Baron's magnetic, alluring chemistry! This audio was so much fun, and not to be missed!

I really loved Baron's friendship/relationship? with Laura the bear. He's such a good person and yet he doesn't think he deserves any happiness because of what happened to his family years ago. He definitely doesn't think he's worth Annie taking a chance on him. What he has yet to learn is that she is a stubborn and determined to change his mind even with their surprise situation. I could not put this book down because I didn't want Annie and Baron's story to end! So much great humor. Swoony and romantic lines. I fell in love with them. If you love grumpy swoony vampires and funny paranormal romance then you will love this book and all of the quirky people in the town of Nightfall!

One of my favorite quotes from Annie: "..because I'm better at fun than you." Lol love that!

Lili Valente and Shane East absolutely killed it in this book! They nailed every bit of humor and emotion with Bella's characters. Also...Baron's (Shane East) recitation of sonnet 116, SWOON!

I got do bored and annoyed by all the melodramatic/martyr ways of these two! It bothered me the way they speak, but I do understand that they're both EXTREMELY well read, so they speak accordingly, plus he is from a time when people talked well! I think there was missing action too, everything resolved too easily, the most exciting part was fixed just talking, not even a single punch, so yeah, I got super bored!

Ps: I was seriously disappointed by a lot of things in this book after how good was the first, but it would have been so much better if he had avenged his family! Rosalie Hale's style!

This is such a fun (and silly) paranormal romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I love Baron, with his surly attitude, and the way that bubbly Annie is just going to look right past it, lol. These two have a somewhat strange chemistry between them but the heart wants what it wants.

You would assume from both the titles of this series and this the second book that it is a tongue in cheek paranormal rom.-com. I mean the female protagonists family name is Wonderfully and the town its set in is called Nightfall. There’s a house kraken as a familiar for Blair the female protagonist in the first book My Big Fat Bloodsucker Wedding, and in this story Laurie a pet bear and Amy a half demon baby with horns. So you wouldn’t be wrong in your assumptions. But you also wouldn’t be totally right either. Because besides the romances between the Wonderfully sister witches and the handsome Blackmore vampires there lurks evil at every turn. There are threats to them and to the town of Nightfall. There’s the story of the abject poverty the sisters grew up in raising themselves while their now missing mother seemed to think her only purpose in life was to frolic and get knocked up repeatedly by different paranormal men. And if that’s not enough to dampen the laughter in this story there’s the tragic tale of what befell the family of 200-year-old vampire Baron Blackmore this story’s male protagonist that turned him into a grumpy, self-loathing recluse. Reading his retelling of their horrific deaths was almost more than I could stomach.
Annie Wonderfully one of the oldest of her siblings who helped her sister Blair raise the rest is the pro-typical introverted book worm. A librarian by profession she’s happiest snuggled up at night with a good book to read. Preferably a classis like Withering Heights. She’s half-witch and like her twin sister half-wyvern but hasn’t come fully into her powers for either. At 34 years old she’s still a virgin. Until her over powering attraction to reclusive vampire Baron Blackmore revs her libido to high forcing her out of her comfort zone. One snowy night she boldly goes to his cabin, cashes in her V-card, learns all about the joys of sex and gets knocked up all at the same time. Which is nothing short of miraculous because vampires aren’t supposed to be able to father children. But Baron who has spent the last 200 years trying to punish himself for what happened to his wife and children convinced he’s to blame and doesn’t deserve happiness immediately rejects any ideas of a future with Annie telling her in a note she should stay away from him. So now a very determined and stubborn Annie has to convince the father of her child that he is capable and worthy of love so she can tell him they’re going to have a baby. That’s the main storyline here. But there are others.
The Wondefullys and the Blackmores have yet to discover who was behind the kidnapping of Blair Wonderfully and Darcy Blackmore in the first book, My Big Fat Bloodsucker Wedding. Are they out there waiting to strike again?
Casey Wonderfully (sort of the family wild child) and her half-demon daughter Amy have come to Nightfall to seek refuge with her sisters from the baby’s demon father who kidnapped the baby and attempted to sell her into slavery to the demon king. Demon runes begin showing up around town indicating he’s nearbye and searching for Casey and Amy. Also, some town residents are not happy to have a half-demon baby in their town.
Baron and many of the other paranormals sense an evil presence lurking around Nightfall, especially in the swamp where Baron’s cabin is located. Then someone breaks into Baron’s cabin stealing a set of drawings he has of the Blackmore estate indicating an attack may be imminent. Possibly by a rival clan of vampires. This has our band of characters on edge constantly looking over their shoulders.
There’s plenty of angsty romance with Annie trying to convince the tortured Baron they should be together. There’s some very steamy sex when he can’t resist her charms. There’s some light hearted laughs and the aforementioned suspense. In the end of course Annie and Baron find their happily ever after but not all the threats are ended.

I’d like to say this one was better but instead it remains a 4. I enjoyed it and felt it was entertaining, but mostly I liked anticipating where it was going. A lot of things happen in this story that were sudden and causes some panic with extra research. I liked being in the midst of that because I felt like I was learning something new about the town and figuring out things as I go. The way the Wonderfully’s and the Blackthorns come together to figure out the threat while also having romance on the side was a good plus and helped move the story along. Then there was a question mark about Sophie and whether or not she’s who she says she is which doesn’t really get revisited. We know Baron suspects something with her but we never find out. I think this was intentional because the point of the book is to focus on Annie and Baron, but also the threats of the town and opening up to all options. I wish this gets resolved but I guess some things will remain unsure or we find out in the next book. I think this one had more of a slow burn feel to it because it felt like Baron and Annie take a very long time to get together again, all in part with the way Baron strongly believes he doesn’t deserve her. I do feel like this one does focus more on Annie and Baron so I have no complaints there, just with the way they were handling it. I don’t agree with Annie claiming Baron’s the one after they sleep together for the first time, which happens to be her first time and her obsession with him, hence the 4. After a while I got tired of how lovestruck Annie was and with Baron’s self hatred, wallowing and loathing, it kind of brought the book down. I did like that Annie didn’t do anything too crazy with him but the fact that she had hearts in her eyes all the time and knew he was the one annoyed me. Maybe because I don’t believe in love at first sight and I’m not a very spiritual person but I wish she just held back a little bit with all the feels and I wish Baron wasn’t so in his head, and holding her at arm’s length. I can take some resistance and pushing away, but how Baron did it in this story was sad and he didn’t deserve to treat himself that way. With that, I agree with Annie, just because something happens in his past out of his control, doesn’t mean it’s his fault. I applaud her for trying to make him see that, even if she does it to make him fall in love with her. This then begs the question we all want to know at the end when we find out a little tidbit about her magic that now has me questioning her intentions with Baron and not the bad kind. On top of this, a key character in the story that can help unearth some secrets about the town and people just disappears and we don’t hear from them again. There was mystery, intrigue, and a deep love that plays a part in this book which kept me wanting to find out more. I just wish we got more exploration, passion and an intensity that I felt more with Blair and Darcy rather than with Annie and Baron. You get more tenderness and love making with them but I feel like there needed to be more urgency with them. It sounds like we may get that with Edmond and Casey? I guess time will tell and I’ll see, but solid book and I hope this trend continues with the series.

What a deliciously sweet, tender and fun listen, this story was full-swoon and sucked me in and left me wanting more! (pun intended)

I’m a Vampire-Witch hybrid kinda gal, and I love me some PMR romance, add the perfect pairing of Lili Valente and Shane East, and I knew from the get-go I was going to love this book,

This is the second book in the Wonderfully Witches of Nightfall series centred around the mystical town of Nightfall and can be read as a complete stand-alone, but contains characters that are inter-connected with her first book: My Big Fat Blood Suckers Wedding which starred Darcy and Blair.

It centres around the Vampire family: The Blackmore brothers and the leading Witch coven the: Wonderfully sisters and this is Baron and Annie’s story along with their families, and the other mystical: some lovable and others forgettable and down right treacherous supernatural beings we meet along the way.

Baron the handsome but tortured and broody vampire and the beautiful Annie the eldest Wonderfuly sister who is all sunshine, and positive and sees the goodness in Baron’s dark and grumpy. Baron spent his whole mortal life denying and blaming himself for his perceived tragic past and Annie can see through his broodiness and knows they share something with each other.

One thing leads to another, and Baron rescues Annie from falling into the swamp and they share a night of steamy, swoony passion together where Baron not only takes her ‘V’ card but Annie finds out she is pregnant with his child! Annie needs to find a suitable time to let Baron know of the miracle they created, all the while Baron continues to torture himself and deny his feelings for Annie, and in spite of this, he can’t stay away from her – their chemistry is undeniable and circumstances and will take them on twists and turns before they reach their HEA.

Once again, Lili Valente and Shane East absolutely nailed the portrayal of Annie and Baron:

Shane was the perfect Baron: he took me on a delicious journey in his portrayal of the broody, sexy, tortured, grumpy Baron: #VampireShane is one of my all-time favourites and he absolutely nailed the assignment again. He continues to get better and better with each performance and it’s a delight to behold!

Equally, Lili was exceptionally perfect as Annie, she was unequivocally delectable in her portrayal of the sweet, caring, generous and very entertaining Annie – the perfect sunshine to Shane’s Grumpy Baron. I was extremely impressed with her male choice – particularly her British accent – it was outstanding! Such and amazing talent!

I absolutely loved this audiobook, it was so much fun, it was steamy and swoony in all the best ways with the perfect amount of humour, creepy, drama and suspense – it’s the perfect paranormal rom-com and such an easy listen – I cannot say enough great things about how much I enjoyed this book and series – a fantastic story from a fabulous author and flawless performers! I’m excited for what else is in store for us in this series: deserves way more than 5 stars and on my repeat listens!

Nightfall is a fantastically unique place with such mysterious fun, funny, steamy characters ~ I grin ear to ear when visiting! My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby is book 2 in this series, and I’m so glad this was released on audio! It can be read on by itself, but is best served if you read the series in order to get the full picture. I wholeheartedly recommend it! All of the characters are so rich and complex in the most delightful ways. Baron is a broody vampire, so his relationship with Laura, the bear, was such an unexpected treat. It is even more special considering he has cut himself off from anything capable of bringing joy out of misplaced guilt he can’t get away from due to his tragic past. Determined to continue punishing himself for eternity, he is really thrown off guard by Annie barreling into his world and possessing his heart, mind, and libido. He is so stubborn, but I really enjoyed Annie’s approach to show him he deserves to be loved (and really has no choice in the matter). Annie is just a brilliant character who lights up every scene with her quirky, determined, adorable self. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Steamy shenanigans happen when they come together, and the love story is just plain adorable. Every character from the Wonderfully sisters to the house kraken, Kitty, to the guardian spider, Janet, (and so many more) means you never know what might happen next ~ with the rich history, hilarious games they play, and overall sense of community…I’m here for all of it! There is an underlying mystery in the series centered around the Vampire’s stronghold, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Nightfall!

Lili and Shane are so perfect for these characters, to bring out each complex layer and be silly but steamy and complicated. Shane is so good at the sexy brooding grumpypants vampire who is tortured by dirty bad thoughts and trying to save everyone around him, who promptly turns into a squishy love-struck doting partner. Lili’s performance as Annie is perfection, and her Boston accent for the operator is hilarious! This story is just plain fun, funny, and super steamy and exciting with outstanding performances by both narrators. MORE PLEASE!!

My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby is Bella Jacobs’ newest standalone. However, I do recommend reading My Big Fat Bloodsucker Wedding first since that is where the Blackmore brothers met the Wonderfully sisters. The Blackmores are handsome, powerful, and protective vampires while the Wonderfullys are beautiful, witty, smart witches. They really shouldn’t like each other but…

Annie knows Baron Blackmore is the one. She felt it from the moment she met the grumpy vampire who lives out in the swamps away from his family. She shouldn’t want him. He was dark to her light. He didn’t even seem to like her or anyone for that matter but she just knew he was it for her. Especially after they spend one night together in his cabin. A night he told her to forget. A night she could never forget. It changed her and she knows it changed him even though he would never admit it to even himself. And six weeks later… she sees a sign. A plus sign to be exact. A miracle.

Baron never broke his rules for anyone but six weeks ago he broke one. A big one. Now, he couldn’t forget about her. The most beautiful woman. A woman he needed to stay away from. He wasn’t good for her. He wasn’t good for anyone. She seemed to want to prove that he was a good man and he needed to show her he really wasn’t. They could never be what she wants. What he didn’t know was she had her own secrets…

I am loving this series! It’s full of action, outside and inside the bedroom. I love the supernatural elements, so much fun! And these two family are what #FamilyGoals is all about. I can’t wait for the next book!! Omg, so excited.

Quotes:

“Would you really? You’d bet your life on a man you barely know?”
“I know you,” she says, her eyes locked on mine, as bold and fearless as a general on a battlefield.

“It’s always the time for jokes. How else are we going to get through the hard times and celebrate the happy ones? Jokes are good for you.”

“Wait!” I call after him. “Come back. We’re not finished here.”
“Oh, I hope not,” he says.

“What about people you’d live for? Can I be one of those instead?”
🧛
Review: My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby by Bella Jacobs. The Wonderfully Witches of Nightfall New Hampshire series, book 2.
🪄
I loved the first book in the series, but nothing prepared me for the second. Annual is a doll and I had so much fun with her and her antics to win Baron over. They had everything to don’t work together. He was a grumpy (and rightfully so) and she was sunshine in a stick, he was vampire and she was witch, he was a dark and painful past and she wants a bright future. But somehow they worked like magic, oops!

From the moment Annie saw and talked to Baron she knew he was more than an scowl. Due to his past as human, when he lost everything, Baron believed he wasn’t worthy of a happy future, that he would bring back luck to anyone who was close to him. That’s why he isolate himself, even from his Blackmore vampires brothers, in little house in a swamp. And his bestest of the best friend? Laura, the bear (!!!) who totally stole the show!

But Annie had enough of this and was set to prove him wrong. After one night of seduction (??) he gives up his promise and the unthinkable happens, she ends up pregnant. All excuses the author gave for this happen was kind of believable? I mean, in paranormal world that is. I love how she stood up for herself and what she wanted and Baron, even though he tried to stay away from her, he couldn’t help but be attracted and pulled to her.

They had chemistry for ages and their growing connection and bod was at the same time cute and hot. The story is so much more than the couple, though. The Wonderfully’s and Blackmore’s joined forces once again to fight some evil. There’s suspense, steamy and lots of shenanigans! I’m really enjoying this series and I’m excited to read what’s next!

My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby by Bella Jacobs is the second book in her supernatural romance series. Baron is the broody vampire who has secluded himself out in the swamp, far, far, away from everyone and his family, the Blackmores. His only companion is Laura, the bear he rescued when she was a cub. Annie is the sweet, beautiful witch, and one of the Wonderfully sisters. She has set out to conquer Baron. She knew the first time she met him that he would be someone very special to her. Nothing was stopping her, not even a winter's night trotting through the swamp to get to Baron. When Annie unexpectedly falls into the water, it is Baron who is there to save her. That night would be the night that Baron and Annie would be connected forever; a baby. Annie is aware of Baron's past and how his choices caused him to lose his wife and daughters. Fearing how he would react to the news, Annie sets out to get closer to Baron. So when the opportunity arises after she saves his life, Annie is determined to prove to him how perfect they are together. The more time they spend together, the closer they'll get and Annie will finally have to opportunity to tell Baron the news. As much as Baron insists he is no good for Annie, his actions do not match his words. He can't stop his attraction to her and his need to protect her.
There is danger lurking in the darkness of Nightfall. Instincts, signs, and warnings are all around. Who can be trusted and who will be hurt? In the midst of this craziness, will Annie reveal her secret to Baron? Can Baron accept that he has been given a second chance to love and a family? Wow, this book was filled with surprises, suspense, fear, and sexiness. It was so much fun experiencing how Annie's humor and sassiness broke through Baron's walls. What a GREAT read!!!!

“I was born to heal his broken heart and he was made to do the same for me.”

My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby was another charmingly quirky story set in the town of Nightfall which is full of mystical creatures and home to the Wonderfully sisters and the Blackmore brothers. Baron is the closed off, grumpy vampire who is determined to keep his distance from everyone and after a night trapped together, sweet, sunshiney Annie finds herself pregnant with his baby.

Annie is such a sweet soul. She’s always wanted children so she’s thrilled when she finds out she’s pregnant even though she wonders how it is possible. After all, vampires can’t have children. She’s determined to break down Baron’s walls so they can have a future together.

“Every moment of every night. You haunt me.”

After his wife and children were killed once Baron was turned into a vampire, he’s carried their guilt of their deaths with him and he’s lived in solitude so that he can’t inflict pain on anyone else. When Annie Wonderfully enters his life, he can’t stay away from her despite his best intentions. She calls to him.

These two together were delightful. Their banter was both snarky and funny and full of caring. They also generated some serious heat. Annie was relentless in her determination and I loved watching this sullen vampire surrender to his fate.

Full of wacky creatures that will have you laughing, a bit of steam, and a whole lot of heart, this story is just fun. I love this world that Bella Jacobs has created and I can’t wait for the next Wonderfully sister to fall in love.

“…she’s the sunlight I’ve missed every day since the night I was turned.”

My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby by Bella Jacobs is an accidental pregnancy, paranormal rom-com. We’re back in Nightfall, a supernatural town in New Hampshire. Annie Wonderfully has acclimated quite well to living her new life and making new friends, now if only she could finally harness her witch powers! After getting snowed in on a quick trip to the swamp, her visit with a broody vampire, Baron Blackmore, becomes the start of something that will turn both of their lives upside down in an unexpected and miraculous way.

For the past two centuries, Baron has mostly lived a life of sadness and solitude in penance for his actions in his previous life. Annie is the first person to break through his walls in all this time. Can Annie’s sunshiny personality transform Baron’s grumpy disposition? Can she help him realize that he is deserving of love and happiness? Will Annie get the chance to fulfill her heart’s desires?

My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby is the second book in this fun series. In the first book, you see Blaire and Darcy’s story play out and are introduced to many of Nightfall’s residents. You do not have to read the books in order, but will enjoy them so much more if you do. The next book in the series will be Casey and Edmond’s story. We love all the quirky characters and the secret connections that are slowly being revealed as the series progresses. We cannot wait to see what wonderful surprises Bella Jacobs has in store for us!

I really enjoyed this. It was charming, sweet, light hearted escapism. Nothing was ever too angsty and you knew there would be an HEA but it was never boring.

Laura and Baron were adorable together and I liked seeing him begin to lower his guard with Annie.

I am bummed that Janet is going to be sent back to her maker instead of being staked for trying to kill Darcy and Blaire. What's to stop her from coming back on her own to try to finish what she started?

There are still some unanswered questions, mysteries and potential threats lurking around the corner that I want to get to the bottom of, especially the whole Sophie thing. It's almost as if she's two different people.

And then there's Casey and Edmund. I can't wait to hear why he let her think he didn't remember her. It's kind of a dick move but since he's saving Amy, I guess he's forgiven. But I'm excited to find out exactly what went down between them and see how Casey will manage to save him. I also wonder what her witch power is and look forward to hopefully seeing the rest of the sisters come back together and seeing Casey, Edmund and Amy become a family.

I'd definitely recommend this series if you're looking for something with cozy vibes, a little bit of spice, interesting quirky characters and low levels of angst. These are just really quick, easy, fun books to read when you want a feel good book that isn't too serious. I will definitely be reading the next one and I'm happy I took a chance on a new to me author when I picked up the first one, Bad Blood.

Another complete winner!

I adored Baron and Annie and all the characters that we meet in Nightfall!

Annie hasn't come into her supernatural powers yet (as far as we know) and she traverses to Baron's cabin in the swamp in the middle of a snow storm to ease her sister's suffering (from Book 1, Blaire & Darcy's story). Annie almost dies from hypothermia, but luckily Baron is there to warm her up...in more ways than one. ;-)

Annie is a witch/wyvern (dragon) and Baron is a vampire, so this pairing is fraught with challenges as Baron has suffered deep tragedy in losing his family centuries ago and he holds a lot of guilt from that.

These two are going to be SO GOOD together and the fact that Baron just can't stay away and is compelled to keep Annie safe is beyond swoony (even if he grumps about it!). Kitty's attachment to Annie is sweet and we are still dealing with the lingering kidnap consequences of Annie's niece, Amy.

The characters are so interesting in this series and this is quite the page turner to see what is going to happen next. There is definitely some twists and turns that you won't see coming and still more mystery and intrigue to follow. And the fate of Mama Spider is still hanging in the balance! Bring on Book 3!! I needs it NOW!!

This is fun, dramatic, supernatural to the nth degree, and just plain entertaining. I am totally loving this series.

I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

Loved book 2 and desperately need more!

Baron has been a Grump of a vampire since he was turned. He's living in the swamp land in a small cabin and has been forcing himself to be alone without love or companionship for 200 years. He lost his wife and 2 daughters to some horrible men just before he was turned. His anger and loss has changed him.

Now enter the Wonderfully sister's, especially Annie. There is something special about her but he vows to stay away from her. He feels he doesn't deserve her sweetness.

But when Annie makes a trip to the swamp to see him during a winter storm all things change. He finds her as she collapses. Her clothes wet and frozen. He carries her in and is forced to remove her frozen clothes and warm her in front of the fire. Only it's not enough. She's dying. He needs to go skin to skin to save her.

Then it happens, the feeling he's been having gets the best of him. And they make love. Her first time ever and his first time in 200 years. Then in the morning he sends her away. Now Baron is avoiding her.

Now, 6 weeks later Annie finds out she's pregnant. But Vampires aren't supposed to be able to make babies. How is this possible? And what will Baron do when he finds out?

So good! Ready for more of this family! Enjoy

Being new to Ms.Jacobs's work i've been looking so forward to getting into her books! As soon as this one was announced i wanted to pick it up. I started reading it as soon as i could and got into it so quickly. I so enjoyed this story!

Annie and Baron's journey captured my attention right from the get go! Annie is a witch and Baron is a vampire. After these two spend a night together, Annie finds out that she's pregnant. I couldn't wait to see how everything would go for these two. I wasn't sure what all to expect going into this story and that got me into it even more.

I loved the way these two characters and the world of Nightfall pulled me in! I was so glad that i got to jump into both of their minds. I really liked how Annie wasn't one to give up and how i got to dig deeper with Baron. These two together were steamy and entertaining! I felt so many things with them throughout as well!

With My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby, Ms.Jacobs has created such a good and one of a kind paranormal romance that you won't want to turn away from! I definitely want to head back into the Nightfall world. I can't wait to read more from this author!

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Wow. Another fantastic book in this series!

Although this book could be read as a stand alone story, it is certainly best read after reading the previous book in the series with the first Wonderfully sister to fall in love.

Annie is a book nerd and works in the library and has her sights set on Barron, a vampire who believes that he does not deserve anything good in this world anymore and has been most reclusive for the last two hundred years and certainly has certainly abstained from being with another after the death of his wife and children when he was turned.

Annie certainly goes for what she wants and when there is a surprise after the get together of Blaire and Darcy, Annie shows her metal and turns things into a way into showing Barron what he is missing.

The main plot line continues from book one and new mysteries unfold, while there is a undercurrent of nastiness behind the town of Nightfall that needs to be exposed. what is that maleficence trying to tear things apart?

I really enjoyed this book, just as I knew I would with a book from this author and I am more than looking forward to the next book in the series.

Freaking Amazing!!!

I absolutely love this series and these characters! Blood Secrets is book two in the witches of nightfall series and while you can read them as stand-alone I highly recommend you start from book one! You won’t be sorry! This is Annie and Barons book, and boy did it start off with a Bang! (Wink) Gah I loved them sooo hard! Annie is finally getting comfortable and finding herself after all she has been through. And she has now after all these years of remaining single and celibate stumbled into a vampire who peaks her interest and makes her body come alive! This is a secret baby romance my favorite trope! Baron has been living for the last 200 years in the swamps in seclusion trying to repent for the sins of his past and the loss of his family all those years ago. These two heal each others in the Sweetest ways possible! The whole gang is back with a few new members and something is amiss in their quiet little town! While this books is buckets full of sexy and sweet it’s also thrilling and exciting! I just can’t get enough of these characters! This was another quick addictive read! I swallowed in one sitting! I’m so excited for Casey’s story next!

“My Big Fat Bloodsucker Secret Baby” has it all. Comedy, steam, mystery and lots of feel good moments. The Wonderfully Sisters and the whole town of Nightfall are an amazing bunch and I love reading their stories.

One freak storm and a one nightstand, weeks later Annie discovers she’s pregnant. With a Baron’s (who is a vampire) baby. Which should be impossible since he’s a vampire. But Annie has been in love with Baron and is determined to make him see that he is a good person and will be a great father too. But Baron is convinced that he got what he deserved when he was turned and doesn’t deserve any happiness.

Grumpy/Sunshine is my absolute favorite troupe and I was not disappointed by this story! Annie and Baron were the perfect sunshine and Grumpus. Baron lived in solitude and was determined to suffer for the rest of eternity. Then this magical, happy Witch comes into town and throws a wrench into those plans. I could not get enough of these two together and I loved their story so much. Kitty the Kraken was the best and I loved her being in the story. Every house should have a house Kraken like Kitty. I can’t wait for more from this series.

Okay, nothing grinds my gears in a book more than pure laziness.

Book one, Darcy's previous wife's name was Catherine.
Book two, Baron's precious wife's name is Catherine, then Cora, then Catherine again.

How hard is it to keep track of that? Is it truly that time consuming to just... choose another name? If I have to read the third book and Edmond has some secret wife named Catherine I give up and just assume everyone in their past was named Catherine.

It took away from the book so much for me because I'm such a detail person.

Basically, Annie accidentally gets pregnant when she tries to force grumpy loner Baron out of his depression shack in the woods and spends the next however many days trying to change his mind about their feelings for one another that he tries to suppress because he feels guilty about how his ex wife (CaTheRiNe) and children were murdered years ago before he was turned and he wasn't able to save them.

I was also a little peeved at a fade to black type scene. Don't do that to me. I held out for the spice and I'm not into denial kinks.

This is the second book in the series and it's just as good as the first one if not better. I was so looking forward to this one after the tease from the first book. I loved Annie so much. I could so see myself being friends with her. I loved how Kitty is with her. It was one of my favorite parts of the book. Then you have grumpy vampire Baron. That man's backstory just broke my heart and explains so much. We get to know Casey and little Amy more and I can't tell how much I'm looking forward to that book. This book has me asking more questions and questioning characters. I am worried about one character a lot so I'm hoping for answers in the next book. It's so well written that I read this one in a day. I just couldn't put it down. The Wonderfully sisters and Blackmore brothers have me hooked. I can't recommend this one enough! It has such characters with enough intrigue to keep me enthralled.
