Guarding Her by Katie Reus
Red Stone Security #18. Contemporary romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone but better if you’ve the last few simply because it’s a group of people that work and attend family parties together.
Gia is helping a friend by modeling her swim suits and one of the videos goes viral. And that brings out the crazies including a stalker. Lawson tries to keep his distance from Gia because she’s Juan’s little sister, but his feelings been growing. When he’s hired to be Gia’s bodyguard, he must maintain his professional hands off policy to keep Gia safe.

Suspenseful and steamy with a secondary couple storyline.
I love this author’s writing so wasn’t surprised by the twist. I wanted to yell “don’t go out alone!”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to keep.

Gia agrees to model her friends clothing line for her but she never expected a video of her modeling a swimsuit would go viral. Not only does it get great comments but a few bad ones as well and one person in particular has become obsessed with her overnight fame and is not happy about it.

Lawson likes Gia and finds her attractive but she's his best friends sister so that means she's off limits. When his best friend get married and goes off on his honeymoon, Lawson takes it upon himself to keep Gia safe when a series of bad things happen to her. Lawson works for a security company so he knows how to keep her safe but when Gia's brother finds out that his sister and Lawson are staying at his place alone, he is not happy about it.

I liked being in the stalker's head and reading what he was thinking. It's always interesting to see how far they will go but even though we could see what he was thinking, I had no idea who it was until it was revealed.

Having Gia and Lawson thrown together in order to keep her safe was a great way to force them to see how much they felt for each other. I liked the romance and the stalker scenes. It was a fun read with the danger and romance taking place.

Gia and Lawson were amazing together making for a smexy, thrilling, danger filled read!

I loved how this couple battled against their initial attraction to each other, neither realizing how the other felt. The best friend’s little sister trope doesn’t always play out well for me but with Gia and Lawson, I was a complete goner. I loved the tension filled scenes leading up to the moment when they made the big move.

#bodyguard Lewis and rich kid George from He My Beloved

While Gia was a likable heroine and one that I could connect with, for me this was all about Lawson. He was such a great hero. We have a little bit of all the alpha tendencies with him. There are moments of jealousy and possessiveness, as well as the “mine” mentality which made my heart leap with glee. And of course, like all of Ms. Reus’ heroes, Lawson was protective to the extreme.

May be an image of flower

This had lots of moments of danger and high drama and I was so far off the mark as to who the villain was. Getting to that moment of revelation felt like a thrill ride that I never wanted to end…except I needed to know who the bad guy was! This surprised me with the addition of a small story of another couple and I absolutely loved it even as it stirred up so much angst within me. It was awesome!

This was a fun one, Gia stepping out of her box a bit doing modeling and helping out a friend. I liked that both Gia and Lawson were smitten with each other and while things were slow at first, they speed up finally towards the end. I get why Lawson put the skids on things when he did, it was the right thing to do and it allowed them to get to know each other very good. So once they were clear, they could both claim the relationship they wanted.

Getting more in this series is getting more of recurring characters from previous books that I love and want more of, while getting to enjoy new characters to the series. The Red Stone Security team is one big happy family and you just never know what characters from previous books you are going to get to see again. My favorite couple made an appearance, but really I love them all. Gia and Lawson were amazing. Gia has a deadly stalker and Lawson will do anything to keep her safe, including breaking the boundary of best friends sister code. Lawson is just so protective, you can't help but love how he takes care of Gia. I also enjoyed a bit of a story with a one of the married couples in this. Another hit for the series!

I continue to enjoy the Red Stone Security series and Guarding Her was a great addition! You get a bodyguard/brother's best friend romance that really worked for me. Lawson and Gia were great! I loved that Gia was a realistic sized model and that she wasn't really into modeling, but that her natural zest for life and desire to help her friend's swimsuit line succeed really shone through in photos! Lawson was a good hero-at first he was determined that he could never be with Gia because her brother Juan would hate him. Once he gets over that, he then realizes he can't be with her because she is now his client as he has been assigned to protect her.

These book, including Guarding Her, are quick and easy reads! If you like protector romances, I recommend this series!

GUARDING HER is the eighteenth instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult RED STONE SECURITY romantic suspense series. This is illustrator Gia Ferrer , RSS agent Lawson Murphy’s story line. GUARDING HER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from third person perspective GUARDING HER follows the building romance and relationship between illustrator Gia Ferrer , RSS agent Lawson Murphy. Lawson Murphy has lusted after his best friend’s sister Gia for as long as he can remember but the bro-code means hands off, and Lawson watches from the sidelines as Gia moves on with her life. When the opportunity to become a swimwear model for her friend’s clothing line presents itself, Gia reluctantly agrees but soon after, the online stalkers and comments become threatening and all too real. Enter Lawson Murphy, who becomes Gia’s personal body guard and protector. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between Gia and Lawson, and the potential fall-out when Gia becomes the social media darling, and someone targets our story line heroine.

Lawson Murphy knows not to cross the line with his best friend’s sister but when our hero is hired to protect Gia Ferrer from an unknown stalker, Lawson must take a professional stance, struggling with his attraction to the woman who calls to his heart. Gia Ferrer has no idea who is behind the threats but when the personal responsible gets too close for comfort, Gia knows that it’s time to call in help from the man with whom she is falling in love.

Meanwhile, Clarita and Carlos, Gia’s soon to be extended in-laws, are battling some demons of their own. Carlos is always working late, rarely home, and Clarita believes the man that she loves has fallen for someone else.

The relationship between Gia and Lawson is one of immediate attraction. Gia believes Lawson is disinterested, in the wake of rejection and often being ignored but Lawson is keeping his distance in order to protect a friendship. As the threats against Gia Ferrer increase, so too does Lawson’s need for, and attraction to our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are limited but seductive and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we have met in previous story lines. We are introduced to Gia’s brother Juan, his fiance Angel, Clarita and Carlos, as well as several members of the crew at the swimwear shoot.

GUARDING HER is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and control, understanding, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is passionate; the characters are energetic and strong-willed.

We are back in Miami, home of Red Stone Security and it’s much loved experts.
Former Marine and new hired Red Stone Security expert , Lawson Murphy, has been best friend’s with Juan since boot camp. He’s also been attracted to Juan’s sister, Gia. The bro rule has him keeping that to himself, but it certainly has not stopped him from fantasizing about her.
Little did he know the attraction was mutual and when Gia is attacked by a stalker, Lawson will do everything to keep her safe. No matter how much he wants her in his bed, he’ll keep his professionalism until the culprit is apprehended.
But what happens when the danger intensifies and Gia’s life is on the line? Will Lawson be able to save her? Will they get a chance to have a relationship and get their HEA?
This was another great addition to an already much loved series and one worth your time.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Gia and Lawson. Lawson’s sense of duty to Gia’s brother keeps these two apart for a bit. Lots of action. It’s great to see Red Stone Security again, and some familiar faces. Gia gets herself a stalker, and Lawson is just the man to guard her. HEA.

Although Gia and Lawson were great together, I wasn’t completely invested in them.

Gia finds herself in the spotlight after doing a favor for a friend. She also acquires a stalker in the process and Lawson is determined to keep her safe, but he is finding it harder and harder to keep her at arms’ length.

Guarding Her is book 18 in the Red Stone Security series. This is the only book in the series that I’ve read so far, and while this works well as a stand-alone, I do feel like I missed something. I had no idea who any of the other characters were and I think I might’ve had a better experience if I had read the previous books.

Gia and Lawson had great chemistry, but because of Lawson’s friendship with Gia’s brother, it took them a while to give in to the attraction. Ultimately, I was more interested and invested in what was going on between Carlos and Clarita, who weren’t the main focus of the book. I feel that diverted a lot of my attention away from Gia and Lawson. The short chapters from the stalker’s point of view added a bit more thrill to the story.

I enjoy Katie Reus’s books and I can recommend them if you like steamy romance with suspense. I think I’m going to tackle this series from the start.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a wonderful, sweet, romantic suspense. When Lawson Murphy’s best friend’s sister is being stalked following a modelling session, Lawson won’t trust her safety to anyone but him. After all he’s crushed on her for years, not that anything can ever happen, his best friend made sure of that. Gina too, has crushed on Lawson for most of her life, sadly for her he doesn’t feel anything more than friendship for her. That’s what Gia has always believed, but when he becomes her bodyguard a few things come to light, unfortunately Lawson is forever the professional, and won’t cross that line. As the threats to Gia increase, it becomes apparent that her safety, and possibly her life are in the balance. I was on tenterhooks throughout. Both Lawson and Gia were refreshingly upfront and honest with each other, I loved her approach to life, she truly was beautiful inside and out. The story was fast paced, kept me on my toes throughout, and was wonderfully passionate between the Gia and Lawson. The perfect couple, an addictive storyline, and a wonderful read. Written in multiple POVs. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

This is book eighteen in The Red Stone Security series and it I Gia and Lawson's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Gia has had feelings for Lawson who is her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember but he didn't seem to feel the same way so she tries hard not to let it show. Lawson has had feelings for Gia for a long time and he really wants to be with her as she is beautiful, kind, caring and lights up the room when she walks in but as she is his best friend's sister he couldn't go there and betray his friend's trust but it was getting harder and harder to keep his distance from Gia the more that they spend or in the same room together. When Gia is attacked and in danger all bets are off and Lawson is determined to stay near her and protect and keep her safe at all costs until they find the person and find out why. I absolutely loved this book and the chemistry between Gia and Lawson was so strong and his protective instincts and the way he was with Gia was a beautiful thing to see and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and I read it in one sitting until the early hours of the morning and it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering who the real person was and why they are targeting Gia. Katie Reus is an amazing author and writer and the depth of her story's are what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's and I definitely recommend you read her book and you will not be disappointed.

4.5 Guarding Her Stars🌟

Gia works from home and is hoping to launch her own illustrations and story but is scared about putting herself out there. When a chance model opportunity for her soon to be sister in law comes up, Gia is more than happy to help…that is until she starts receiving weird messages and someone tries to break into her house🤭

Lawson has feelings for Gia but due to his relationship with her brother, he’s tried to keep her off limits, that is until he realises she has feelings for him and danger slowly starts to make itself known😳

A good story that I enjoyed along with catching up with some old favourite characters as well❣️ I look forward to more in this series in the future and thank the publisher and Netgalley for my advanced copy which I voluntarily leave my honest thoughts and review❤️

Got to say I am so loving having Red Stone Security back!!! It’s a huge yay from me.
Lawson ‘sigh’… and Gia this was a bit of a will they won’t they because big brother may just kill them both lol
It’s a good thing Juan has Angel to calm his roll when he gets going…
Lawson is half in love with his best friends sister.
Gia is half in love with her brothers best friend
So when Gia starts getting unwanted attention in the form of a stalker who does she want protecting allllllll of her body???? Lol
Lawson to the rescue. Yay. Butttttttt they have to keep their hands, tongues and other body parts to themselves while he is protecting Gia because Lawson is a professional!!!!
It was a good story with some Red Stone favourites a demented bad guy and so much more.

Gia works from home and ends up modeling bathing suits for a friend. One of the videos go viral. Gia doesn’t care about the attention except when she starts getting hate mail. Lawson was in the Marines with Gia’s brother Juan. He now works for Red Stone Security. Lawson has been attracted to Gia for a while but is afraid of ruining his relationship with his best friend. When the stalker gets closer, Lawson takes her to his place for protection. Will he get the woman of his dreams and lose his best friend?

I loved this story. I’m not fond of several point of views but it was even suspenseful. Friends to lovers. Sexual tension. Over protective brother.

I always look forward to reading the Redstone security books when they come out. The guys are always so delicious and hunky and drool-worthy. The stories are romantic and exciting and this one is no exception. There are quite a few scary moments that cause one's pulse to pound and heart to flutter. It is a good storyline along with the romance. I think it is a really good read.

Love protects All?

Guarding Her is the eighteenth book in Katie Reus’ Red Stone Security Series. It is a suspenseful romance novel filled with great characters, an interesting storyline, no cheating and a happily ever after.

Gia and Lawson have been drawn to each other for months, but she is his best friends little sister and off limits. But when a video of her modelling a friend’s new clothing line goes viral, Gia becomes the target of a crazy stalker and Lawson steps forward and will do anything to protect the women he loves. But will it be enough, especially when her brother finds out? Read it and find out!

This book can be read as a standalone, but when read in order, a greater appreciation for the series is achieved. Reus does an excellent job weaving old and introducing new characters into the Red Stone Security series. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

My only complaint relates to the secondary storyline between Carlos and Clarita. It was interesting but I think that it detracted from the main storyline.

Being a viral sensation isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Gia is just being her helpful self, modelling a couple of things for her new in-laws. But even before the video went viral strange things were happening to her. But when the video really takes hold it seems to fire up her stalker and things escalate quickly. With her brother on his honeymoon, she is loathe to involve anyone but Lawson is having none of that!

Lawson knows that Gia is something special but as his friend and colleague's little sister he's made her off-limits. But when the stalker doesn't back off, he's left with no other option but to get involved. And then there is less and less chance of him escaping without falling for Gia!

Another great read in the Red Stone Security Series. Plenty of twists and the chemistry is on point between the MC's

Gia’s in danger. Lawson is in trouble. She needs protection, but wants the guy who seems impervious to her. He wants her heart, but can’t risk his friendship with her brother or his job. And when Gia needs 24/7 protection, Lawson is ready to beat back anyone else who may volunteer for the job. As these two live with the frustration, tension, and scorching desire that Lawson refuses to compromise Gia’s safety or his professionalism for, mysteries are solved and new problems arise.

And as interesting as Gia and Lawson were, I found my heart and ALL of my attention focused on Clarita and Carlos. Married, in love, but maybe not so much now? Maybe the spark is gone on one side. Maybe that spark has found another to ignite with? Oh, my heart broke so much for the pain and worry and angst and apparent proof. But all may not be as it seems. And once Gia and Lawson found their way and the danger was removed, I HAD to know where Clarita and Carlos would land. And their story made an already steamy story absolutely red hot when all of their secrets came out. These two couples brought a must read book for your enjoyment, so enjoy it!

4.25⭐

Guarding Her is a fast-paced and really engaging story. That grabbed me from the very first page, thanks to an interesting mix of romance and suspense. As main character Gia finds herself being tormented by a stalker after she agrees to model some swimwear for her new sister-in-law's sister Carlita.

And with a few edge-of-your-seat moments and great characters, some of whom will be familiar to fans of the series and a romance that was full of sparks this really was an enjoyable read. That I would happily recommend to others.

Excellent, exciting Red Stone Security book. Larson has had feelings for Gia for years and he works at Redstone. Gia is an illustrator and works from home. Suddenly, threats come at Gia and Larson wants to be her protection detail. There’s action, mystery, intrigue, suspense and romance. Guarding Her is the 18th book in Katie Reus’s Red Stone Security series. I have never read a book in this series or by this author. However from what I could tell each story could be read as a standalone. A fast paced stalker suspense romance that keeps you engaged not only on the main characters stories but also the supporting characters. The romance is sweet and steamy at times. With an intriguing plot that keeps you turning the page.

Gia works from home as an illustrator and doesn’t go out much. With her brother’s wedding and fighting her attraction to her brother’s best friend Lawson. She has enough to think about. Especially after he sends her mixed signals and tells her their kiss was a mistake.

Gia decides to move on. But what happens when she receives unwanted fame from a viral video of her modeling her friends collection as a favor? A fame that comes with a stalker, threats and attacks on her safety? From being slapped, unwanted messages and break ins?
She turns to Lawson to keep her safe. But the forced proximity makes it difficult to keep their mutual attraction at bay.
But Lawson doesn’t mix business with pleasure so he puts a pause on whatever is happening between the both of them. Being her bodyguard and keeping her safe is more important. Giving them time to get to know one another better.

I love how despite the attraction they’ve had for one another for so long they didn’t just jump into a instalove relationship. The sparks were flying.

I enjoy the twist and turns and the reveal about the stalker was ohh wow. It was an enjoyable read and I recommend it to anyone who wants a quick fast paced read that has a bit of suspense, drama, forbidden love and HEA.

This is book 18 in the Redstone Security series but it can absolutely be read as a standalone, although I recommend these books for anyone who likes romantic suspense! Gia is an illustrator who has been thrown into the limelight by modeling her friend's clothes for her. She has never had any desire to be a model or be famous, she was just in it to have fun and try on beautiful clothes. But now she has a target on her back and someone is out to hurt her. And she has no idea who it could be. Lawson knows that Gia is off limits as his best friend's sister. Even if she is the woman he dreams about. But when she is targeted, nothing will stop him from protecting her. Not even her brother. And no matter how much he wants her, her safety comes before anything else.

I loved most of this story. Gia and Lawson are phenomenal together, especially once he gets his head out of his butt! I loved their chemistry and their friendship, and I loved how much Lawson is willing to go through just to see her safe. The thing that slightly threw me off was the side story with Clarita. I was thrown off with the addition of a story for a second couple. I wasn't sure which story I wanted to read about more! I really wish that Clarita and her husband's story had been a separate book or novella as it threw me off this one slightly. Other than that, I loved this story! Gia is funny and sweet but she can also be tough when she needs to be as well. Lawson has this protective streak a mile wide but he isn't afraid to face his fears and feelings when he needs to. They are perfect together and you could tell just by reading it. The stalker was someone I wasn't expecting with a twist I didn't see! But it was great and I loved how it played out! Another win for me!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. I already had it on pre-order but jumped at the chance to read it early. This is the 18th book in the Red Stone Security series. Ms. Reus had originally concluded the series, however her fans love it so much she brought it back. Every book can be read as a stand alone. So if this is your first one, you're not missing anything. With a security company as big as Redstone you have a lot of yummy Alpha males to write about. It's a formula that has worked for 17 previous books, broody Alpha male and independent woman that doesn't want to be a damsel in distress. Most are set in Miami, a place I visit at least once a year, so when I read these I feel like I get extra time there, without the hassle of travel :)
Gia is the sister of a Redstone operative, Juan who got his own HEA in a previous installment, but again it doesn't matter if you didn't read his book. Lawson is Juan's best friend all the way back to their Marine days, also works for Redstone, and he's noticed Gia alright, but well it's his best friend's sister after all. However things start to change for them at Juan and Angel's wedding and then comes to a head when Gia has a stalker.
There's a nice little side story about Clarita and Carlos, Angel's sister, also the designer that Gia is modeling for. It added to the book, and addresses that "funk" a lot of marriages hit around 15 years, when the children are becoming teenagers and the dynamics change.
I know that Redstone number 19 is on the way and I eagerly wait for it.

First I wanted to thank Author Collective 20 for providing an ARC in exchange for a honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

While scrolling through NetGalley I saw the cover of this book, and it intrigued me. I read the synopsis and I LOVE me some romantic suspense…then add brother’s best friend trope and I’m sunk! I am so happy I requested this book….and got accepted cause I really enjoyed it 🥰

Release 5/16
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What I loved:
-Series, this is part of the larger Red Stone Security Series and I’m so excited to dive into all of the other books
- Brother’s Best Friend, this is one of my favorite tropes cause I just really like how much Lawson is worried about losing Juan (brother) but it willing to risk it for Gia
- Mystery, I am normally really good at figuring out “who done it” but this one really did surprise me at the end
- Family, this story includes a larger family element but the best part is it’s not blood family just chosen family

One thing that kind of threw me was a secondary storyline with another couple and it could be because I haven’t read the others in the series but it seemed a bit random to be part of Gia and Lawson’s story.

Overall this book had everything I look for in a romantic suspense, great romance, spice, great twist and believable turmoil between the main characters. Once I started this book it was really hard to put down and I am already eyeing how quickly I can get to the other books in the series cause I can’t wait to learn about the rest of the Red Stone team. If you love romantic suspense then PLEASE to pick this one up as soon as you can cause its a great stand alone story with a whole series behind it so you can live in this world for a while!
