The Best Medicine

Rate this book
After becoming legal guardian to her younger siblings, Blaire Hoffman moved to a small town in North Carolina looking for a new start. And so far, life in quiet, but vibrant Hollytree is just about perfect. Except for one thing.

Blaire’s status as a young and—some might say—attractive new doctor makes her the most eligible woman in town. Everyone she meets is trying to set her up and she’s running out of ways to say no.

Enter Leo Morgan, local reformed bad boy in need of a serious reputation rehab. As her fake boyfriend, he’ll help Blaire keep the matchmakers at bay, while she helps to convince his dad that he’s ready to take over the family business.

All she has to do is keep herself from falling in love. Which should be easy enough…right?

4.5 stars! That was incredibly satisfying. I follow this author on TikTok and she’s hilarious. I read her first book and loved it so, when she asked for advanced readers, I jumped all over that. And just finished my copy in 24 hours.

I highly recommend it. It had enemies to lovers, fake relationship, fun friends and family, emotional growth, and provides a great setup for an interconnected series of books. No OW/OM. They both haven’t dated or been with anyone else for a while.

They have a great meet-cute when she hits him with her car. It’s no wonder he’s perturbed at her. They are both amazing people who look out for the loved ones in their lives. And I genuinely like them both immediately.

This book drew out my emotions, making me cry and laugh out loud. The story is so incredibly satisfying with some insecurities and a short separation that’s caused by that. But it gives them a chance to come together and solidify their relationship.

There are some heavy topics in here that are dealt with sensitively, including death of a loved one (not on page), family issues, grieving, anxiety, etc. I appreciate that the author doesn’t cure people through the “power of love”, but includes people seeking out mental healthcare.

This was great. Loved it so much!

There were a few typos, but not enough to throw me.

This book was so good! Once I got started, I could NOT stop reading. Fake dating stories are always fun and I appreciated that this one went down a little differently than any other I've ever read. The family dynamics were fascinating and so well fleshed out that I was getting angry and happy on behalf of the characters as I was reading.

I am already obsessed with all the side characters and would like ALL of their stories NOW please.

low-angst with some spice, lots of great side characters, a fantastic hero with a need to prove himself and a wonderfully relatable heroine, this book hit all the right notes for me.

I'm so angry.
This bitch, Kathryn Bradley, got me addicted. I NEED more, and I needed it like a day ago.
When I tell you that this shit consumed my soul, I finished this a day ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

I'd like it to be known that I had very very very high expectations, so much so that when I realized the ARC was available earlier than expected I still waited an extra day because I was scared. I follow Kathryn on TikTok and she is so funny that I knew the book would at least be that, but when you follow someone and you get so hyped for something you also have to deal with the reality that it could also quite possibly be absolute shit. Thankfully, this was not at all shit. It has earned a 5-star from me, which is hard to do. To get five stars. you have to leave me reeling for days. Mrs. Bradley has accomplished that.

The relationship was so honest and I loved it. They didn't have that bullshit trope where they both like each other and refuse to admit it. After a bit and they got to know each other they kept the fake relationship aspect for their own personal benefit but also recognized that they might want to pursue each other romantically once that was finished.
I could relate to a lot in this story, and it was so genuinely funny I laughed out loud on multiple occasions. Even in the first chapter, I knew that this was going to be good, the Waffle House joke drew me in. I myself, moved sort of in the opposite direction as she did. She went from a big city to a small town and I went from a small town to a big city and therefore I could relate to the culture shock. And it makes me think that the author also experienced this as well because even the small details about it were so relatable it was incredible. It did have a very guessable, cliche ending, but I still really liked it. I think the ending was more so the family thing that occurred (which I won't specify in the spoiler-free section), more so than the actual ending scene. It was more about personal growth and I enjoyed that.

I have only a few critiques. Especially given the title, I wish she would have included 2 or so more scenes in the clinical setting. Sometimes Leo would say "Doc" and I was like who?. For a good chunk of the book smack in the middle, there was no reference to her work and so I got lost a few times even though I knew she was a doctor. On that note, I would also like to add that I appreciate the fact that being a doctor was not her whole personality. I am a nursing assistant and I know of a lot of doctors that make it their entire being and self-worth to have a god complex and be nothing other than A DOCTOR. Also, maybe mention the pool again, because at the end I was like oh yeah, there is a pool. Even adding a random mental note to buy pool chemicals or something in the story would be helpful. Also, the front cover is not that great. No disrespect to the artist, I just don't like it. It has so much dead space and the cartoons don't look good together. It just looks messy and discombobulated.

SPOILER SECTION

Look away.

Last chance...

Okay, here we go.

I'm so happy the next book is about those two, I'M SO EXCITED. I freaking called it too. I was thinking to myself, you know this side character over the phone is awfully relevant. Kathryn, you sneaky bastard. I fucking called that the two creative types would be put together. I'D LIKE THAT ON THE RECORD MA'AM. The rest of the brothers were too underdeveloped I couldn't picture their books. Kathryn, you are a genius. Also please select me for another ARC of your next book. I'd give you a kidney if you asked for it.

Some mistakes that I caught that may be helpful to the author (quoted):
>n"We do."
>the more trouble I had denied that I was...
>where her hand was resting, clasped in mind.
(p.s. I'm sorry I didn't catch more but I was so engulfed I flew through it.)

Disclaimer: I was blessed with an ARC copy of this masterpiece and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

“Safe.
Leo made me feel safe.
It was an ordinary feeling, likely commonplace to so many, and yet I craved it like a high.”

I read this in one sitting because it was absolutely perfect. I cannot wait for the rest of the books in the series! I am so invested already!

Blaire recently became the legal guardian to her younger siblings after their mother passed away. So she’s moving them to North Carolina for a fresh start. And of course since it’s a small town everyone is trying to set her up with anyone and everyone. She meets Leo, who the towns reformed bad boy. And while she doesn’t have time for a relationship, the two of them strike a deal that benefits them both. Fake date for a while so everyone stops trying to set her up and so his dad takes him seriously enough to sell him the bar he’s been helping out with for years. Everything is going just fine until their fake feeling become very real.

I loved Blaire so much. She puts on such a brave face because she needs to. She has to be their first the twins. She has OCD and throughout the book she struggles with it but she also goes back to therapy to really work through it and get it back to a manageable place. It’s so good to see her dealing with in a healthy way, even if it took a little bit for her to do so. Her relationships to her siblings is so sweet. They love her so much and you can tell they are so grateful to her for the life she is able to give them.

Leo is also wonderful. He dropped everything to help out family as well, but he doesn’t feel like his dad even cares that he did. He doesn’t feel appreciated. Which isn’t true, his dad just pretty much sucks and has his own issues! But despite all of that he is SO SOFT for Blaire. And he extends that to the twins with so much ease. It was absolutely perfect and exactly what Blaire and the twins needed. His whole family is so great! I’m guessing (hoping!!) most of them are going to get their own books and I cannot wait to see where they all go! He also saw Blaire for who she really is. When she told him about her OCD she even said that he is the first person to see it as just part of who she is and it was so wonderful.

And of course Blaire and Leo were perfect together. They started out not being able to stand each other but it changed both so quickly and slowly?? Leo was IN before he even knew it and I love that so much.

Thank you so much to Kathryn Bradley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I cannot wait for everyone to read it! I also am already so excited for the next book! Asher was such a mystery throughout this book, but so helpful to Leo, that I cannot wait for Leo to repay the favor!

“Because at that moment, I was certain of exactly two things. First, Blaire Hoffman was going to ruin my life. And second, I was going to let her.”

Ok, so I don’t normally write reviews but as I received this book as an ARC, I felt like I should. I adored this book from beginning to end. The characters were relatable, the plot line was believable, and the author didn’t shy away from giving our MC’s real world issues.

“It was hard to put into words how toxic and powerful grief was. How it could take a city you’d lived in your entire life and make it seem foreign and wrong.”

Our FMC Blaire is an ER pediatrician who has diagnosed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and the grief of losing her mother and becoming the sole guardian to her teenaged twin siblings has left her at the mercy of some previously tamed intrusive thoughts and behaviors. She moves her little fam from New York City to the house their mom left them in the suburbs of North Carolina for a fresh start. The quieter atmosphere is just what they all need to adjust to their new life and new dynamic. What Blaire didn’t count on: all the matchmaking biddies who see her as fresh meat for their sons/ grandsons/ nephews/ friends sisters cousin once removed. *sigh*

Our MMC Leo is going through it. He was a bit of a bad boy growing up and skedaddled from his hometown before the ink on his high school diploma was even dry. The moment his family needed him however, he came home and owned up to the responsibilities he needed to handle. Namely running the bar his dad built that Leo himself ran with unmatched proficiency after Dad’s heart attack. Does Dad see that? No. He sees the screw-up seventeen year old kid, not the thirty year old grown ass man.

Let’s just say that Blaire and Leo didn’t exactly meet initially under the best of circumstances, but in a bid to help one another out, a fake-dating scheme is hatched. (I’m a sucker for a good trope!) There are some basic ground rules laid in place and nothing ever goes awry when there are rules, right? Ha!

“I’m crazy about you,” he whispered, enunciating each word with gruff clarity. “And I’m so, so tired of pretending like I’m not.”

Are there trials and tribulations? Yes. Are our hero and heroine entirely mature in their handling of said trials? …no. Should you absolutely read this book. Yes. Yes you should. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

5⭐️

I received this book as an advanced reader but this review is freely given and entirely my own opinion. I received nothing in exchange except a great book and new author to follow.

“The moment his skin touched mine, I was struck with the strangest sensation. Like my body was finally waking up after a long, lazy nap.”

This story was beautiful!! I loved it so much!! The banter between them both, never ending even in the end! The story flowed so well together too! The fact both could rely on each other from the beginning even when they despised each other!!

This story is the first book of the Hollytree series and follows along Blaire Hoffman and Leo Morgan.

Blaire is a doctor, who after her mother died gained full custody of her 15 year old siblings; Zach and Hailey. Wanted to give them a fresh start and a place to grow roots she moved them from the busy NYC to the small town of Hollytree, North Carolina. With the stress of the move, being a guardian to two teenagers and starting a new job, she was stressed and distracted. I mean that’s the best reason to explain why she almost ran over a man with her car- twice.
Leo Morgan was born and raised in Hollytree but didn’t waste a moment to get out of the town once he graduated. No one minded since he was a troubled kid they truly didn’t expect less. But a few years later when his father suffered a heart attack he came right back to run his fathers bar. Now seven years later, he’s the manger and the bar is his whole world and future. That was until he almost got ran over- twice.
Leo wanting the bar fully and Blaire wanting the towns match makers to leave her alone they make a deal. They fake date. We all know how that always ends…

Thank you so much Kathryn for an ARC copy of this book!! I’m so excited for this to come out!! And I can’t wait for the rest of the series!!

Being the first book in the series, honestly I figured it would be a slow easing in. Maybe I would like it enough to glance at the later ones in the bunch, or maybe it would just end here. However, Blaire and Leo have managed to reel me in forever, as has the rest of the chaotic family. I now need to read every one of their books just to know how they are doing and if they too get HEAs!

The book has some of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, fake dating, small town romance. And one would think, with that number of tropes, it would get chaotic. But it doesn’t! Everything blends together well to produce an adorable story.

There were a couple of typos in the book, but really nothing that threw me off from the story itself. Overall, the story was very good. The plot progressed reasonably and the situations in the book seemed reasonable and practical to occur.

The female main character in the book does have OCD and the story deals with some pretty heavy things, but never does it seem to just be thrown in there for sympathy or drama. Everything feels realistic and progresses in a respectful way. No one teases her about her feelings either, or makes her feel as though she’s wrong for having her issues, which given the stigma of mental illnesses in the world, is a very strong sentiment.

This is a story that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys small town romances, feisty heroines, and cute love stories.

4.5 stars! I really wish Goodreads allowed for half stars, ugh!

I am a huge fan of her first release, “Insignificant Others,” that I jumped at the chance to be an ARC reader of this one. I am so excited to see that it will be part of a series! I’m a sucker for a small town romance series. Kathryn did an excellent job of introducing you to the supporting characters and setting up their potential “conflict” that might happen in their own books.

First of all, Kathryn included trigger warnings before reading. Thank you! OCD, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, etc. Speaking of the OCD, it’s not something they really gets rep in books. I was pleased that the disorder was not the FMC’s WHOLE personality. And it wasn’t a plot point past it being part of her.

I liked that it took until 1/3 of the way through the book until the major plot point was reveal. The start of the “trope.” It allowed the reader to get to know the town and the people before jumping in. The conflict and resolution included more than just the main two characters, and that allowed the reader to settle in. Again, a better connection for the future books in the series.

I did catch three editing errors that stopped my reading because I couldn’t figure it out at first.

Well done! I am excited for the next book in the series.

Super cute book! Hard to believe this is Kath’s second book. Blaire relocates from NYC to small town North Carolina after she becomes the guardian to her 15-year old twin siblings. Blaire had her dream job in NYC, but wants to give her siblings more security and family life after their mother passed away. Upon arriving in North Carolina, she’s quickly dubbed the most eligible bachelorette, and everyone comes out of the woodwork to present her with dating options! Blaire has no intention of dating, feeling her siblings deserve her time and energy more than a boyfriend.

Enter Leo! He’s running his dads bar, and wants to buy the bar from his dad. His dad doesn’t want to sell the bar to Leo, and basically says Leo is immature and can’t handle it. Leo thinks if he takes a relationship with Blaire, his dad will realize Leo isn’t as immature as he thinks Leo is. Blaire realizes fake dating Leo will keep all the moms with single sons off her back and she can focus on her siblings and her new job as the town pediatrician.

Of course, Leo and Blaire have amazing chemistry and start to develop feelings for each other. Will they make it work? Will Leo get the bar? Will Blaire settle into small town life and not wish she was back in NYC? Gotta read to find out. Definitely a recommended read!

Short review: Small town. Doctor single mom (guardian) from NYC, local bartender, family trauma, and the perfect bit of spice.

Fangirl: OMG this was so amazing!!! It was exactly what I need. We really got to know the inside of each characters heart and mind before we got to the spice. Which made it that much better. I am all about the rom com. there is enough angst in real life. This book had me literally laughing out loud. Between the city girl in a small town, the teenagers, and the interfering small town. It was just want I need and want.

So Blaire is 'neuro-spicy', which i can relate to on some levels as I am 'neuro-spicy' as well. I love that Leo was so supportive and understanding. Every one needs a man like him. I just love their dynamic so much!!!!

Need to know: This book is a complete standalone. It was actually the first book I have read by this author (though it wont be the last!). It is the first book in the series. And we get a little peek at who will be next to get their HEA. And I am here for it! Like seriously. This book is exactly my jam. I think I just found a new favorite author, and I am here from almost the beginning.

You need to read this!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I found Kathryn Bradley on BookTok and she made me want to read this book through her hilarious videos about it. While there were so many funny moments where I had to stop and catch my breath, such as when the FMC hit the MMC with her car twice in the same day, Kathryn also handled some sensitive topics with a finesse that I was not expecting from a debut Indie Author. Blaire struggles with OCD (which is a disorder that is often made light of 'Oh I'm so neat, I'm just OCD') however, Kathryn showed another side of the disorder which is the thoughts that can happen when rituals are not attended to. She showed how the Blaire struggled but also that Blaire had a deep self awareness about her and got the help that she needed.

The MMC, Leo, is probably my new favourite book boyfriend. He had a wild past, but for the last almost decade, has been trying to turn around his dad's bar and prove himself to his father that he is a responsible person who is worthy of his father's trust.

The banter and internal monologues of the two main characters were great, and I loved how heavily Blaire's two siblings were incorporated into this story. I for one am so excited to see what Kathryn writes next because she is incredibly talented.

"So I'll see you Sunday?" she asked, as she turned for the door.
"Sunday," I confirmed.
After she left, I stared at the door of the apartment, processing everything that'd just happened. Blaire Hoffman was officially my pretend girlfriend. What a fucking mess, I thought, even as I struggled to keep the grin off my face.

When a big city doctors mother passes, she takes guardianship of her younger siblings and relocates them to a small town in North Carolina for a fresh start. There she meets Leo, a local previous bad boy, and they strike up a bargain for both of them to get something they want - Leo to purchase his fathers bar and Blaire to be left alone by the constant suggestions of dating any eligible bachelor in town. What could go wrong?

I received this book as an ARC for Kathryn, and it did NOT disappoint! It was cute, comical, relatable, and I enjoyed the realism in this story! I follow this author on tiktok and she is always hilarious, and I LOVE that her books show that too!

Tropes include:
Fake dating
Small town romance

I loved Blaire and Leo's story. I can't wait for Amanda and Ashers story next!

This book was amazing!! I finished it in one sitting but now it’s almost 3 am and I need to get some sleep. I will update with a bit longer review later.

UPDATE:

Now my full review;

I loved and enjoyed this book. The characters were really likable and well written. I liked how Blair’s OCD wasn’t her main personality trait. I did relate to her with her constantly checking and rechecking things. Her character was strong and likable. Leo was also a good character. He was funny and charming. Their interactions were great and felt real. The Best Medicine has everything I been wanting from a fake dating to lovers book. Duel point of views along with a legit hate-to-love relationship. Most books I read that have that trope, it turns out one party has always had a thing for the other. The Best Medicine, they genuinely didn’t like each other at all. The duel point of view really helped to see when both of them started falling for each other. I thought that was really great.

My kingdom for more characters like those in this book that not only take accountability for their actions (even if it takes a while), but also then take steps to rectify them. The fact that these characters were getting therapy and actually putting action behind what they said they were going to do was so refreshing, rather than the author just saying oh look now it's resolved after a conversation. I loved the visibility and honest and gentle treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. I also loved that there was a parent-child relationship where the screw up was still treated like a screw up despite not actually being one anymore because you don't often see that dealt with as well as this book dealt with it, that family members either weren't quite aware or were and didn't have the strength to bring it up but eventually understood where that line was and wouldn't cross it. The miscommunication and uncertainty on the other person's feelings lasted just long enough for the story's needs without being a crutch on which the plot relied, which I was very grateful for.

Will you survive it? YES

The Best Medicine follows Blaire, a doctor who gives up a prestigious position at a New York hospital to move to a small town with her younger siblings after their mother passes away. She runs into (often literally!) Leo, who manages his father’s bar, shortly after arriving and they immediately butt heads, but eventually come to a mutually beneficial arrangement where they’ll pretend to be a couple (you’ll have to read to see what happens next…)

This was such an enjoyable read - Blaire and Leo tugged at my heartstrings and I fell in love with them through the course of this book.

The way mental illness is portrayed in this book is thoughtful and nonjudgmental. Thanks go to the author for a very well-handled depiction which was very relatable for me. On top of that, I just had a really good time reading this.

Kathryn Bradley has completely sucked me in with this one and I cannot wait to read the next in this series!

so freaking adorable!

I read this book because the author made an adorable
TikTok video and boy am I glad that I did. It was so freaking cute and the way they met had me rolling.

Blaire moves to a small town in NC after her mother dies and she now has custody of her twin 15 year old siblings. She is able to get a job as a doctor and she meets Leo in the most unexpected way. They do not hit it off at first and end up asking a deal that would benefit both of them.

Leo is beyond sweet and he is everything that Blairs needed. Without even knowing it he was her rock when she needed to be grounded and he listened without being spooked.

I really appreciated how the author hit topics like mental health and toxic family dynamics. She did it in a sensitive way while still empowering her FMC. Blaire wasn’t held back from her mental illness and Leo wasn’t jaded from his relationship with his father.

Really can’t wait to read more from this author.

I LOVED this small town romance. I loved that I was spread out over a few months and that we got to really see Blaire and Leo’s relationship build over time. How two people who at first glance don’t have anything in common, actual have a lot of the same admiring qualities that each is looking for.

Blaire is a straight shot New Yorker who loves and cares fearlessly for those around her. Leo is a hard work man who breaking the reputation of his space and has a good head on his shoulders.

I related to so many aspects of this books- how Leo always has a car seat in his truck for his niece, and how Blaire worries about being the right parental figure for her siblings.

The author perfectly set up the series by including town and side characters so lead into the next few books. I can’t wait to read more books in the series as they are released.

5 stars
3 spice

Blaire’s moves to a small town in NC with her twin teenage siblings to start a new life after the dearth of their mother. When the small town learns that the new gorgeous doctor is single— the matchmaking begins!!

Unfortunately her only hope of getting these set ups to stop is agreeing to fake date the hot bar manager than she has accidentally hit/run over with her car. Twice.

Leo needs this fake dating to work so his father will finally shed away his teenage troublesome version of him that is stuck in his mind. The problem, Blaire is annoying and she hit me with her car twice.

So Cute! And Fun! And Flirty!!

OMG!

I have no idea how I found this book but it’s adorable and fun and flirty and has a good amount of fun adult activities placed in at the perfect times!

Blaire blew into Hollytree like a tornado and knocked Leo on his toush literally and figuratively lol

They are so good together and for each other! I really really liked how she didn’t let his dad who was such an epic 🤬🤬🤬 at times get away with anything. She is a lot like his mom in that aspect.

Strong, strong willed and not afraid to stand up for who and what she loves/believes in.

The storyline of her taking on guardianship of her siblings was so beautiful. I loved seeing their relationship strengthen as the year progressed also ❤️

So many hints about books to come too! So much fun to see all the guys loosing themselves over women lol

I absolutely adored this book and all of the characters. Kathryn Bradley is easily one of my favorite Booktokers and when I saw that she also had her own romance books I NEEDED to read them.

This book has so many of my favorite things, fake dating, enemies to lovers, small-town, and interconnected characters that keep me wanting more.

I also have a soft spot for couples that unconditionally understand and support each other even though they have completely different backgrounds.

I’ll be very impatiently waiting for the next in the series and adding Kathryn to my list of one click authors!

𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔. 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕, 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅, 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓.

Blaire and Leo's story was heartwarming and so full of hope. I found both characters really relatable in their struggles and really loved the representation of what anxiety can look like. I loved how Leo saw through Blaire and recognized what she needed. He didn't judge her OCD but he helped her through it. And Blaires strength is everything...she recognized when was struggling and needed help. And she gave Leo the one thing he never felt from anyone...support.

“𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔.”

Blair is at the peak of her career when she becomes faced with unimaginable, having to raise her twin siblings while trying to navigate her grief. Thinking it's time for a fresh start, the pack up and leave the big city and relocate to Hollytree: where everyone knows each other and is willing to play matchmaker to the very single Blaire. While dating is not her agenda, not only is Blaire trying to battle off suitors she is also trying to battle her rising OCD while trying to navigate raising the twins and her constant run ins with Leo.

Leo is manager at Morgan's, the towns well established bar. His family's legacy. After his experiences with the front end of Blaires car, he would be happy to see her as little as possible. His family loves Blaire. She's everything he's not. So. I read this book in one sitting. It was amazing, it made me laugh and when I was reading it I couldn’t read it fast enough but was frustrated I finished it 😂 I am fully invested in this series now! It wasn’t the cookie cutter romance novel you may be used to reading. Or maybe it is and I’m just partial! Either way I can’t wait to see where these books go and how Blaine and Leo develop through others eyes! The best medicine was the “best medicine”’to get me out of my reading slump 😂😉

So stinkin’ cute! I loved the characters, their flaws, the chemistry, and everything about Hollytree! 4.75/5 only because I always feel like I get more of the FMC’s POV, even though Leo’s POV was always so thoughtful! I would’ve loved a little bit more insight but I did value the fast that I didn’t have to live through every event twice. So we’ll written and a great quick comfort read (even though it made me cry). :))

I absolutely loved this book, couldn't put it down. It made me laugh, smile, and just want to go hit a hot guy with my car (is that how we find Mr. Right these days??). I love Kath, follow her on Tik Tok and she is just a fun, friendly, hilarious person, so I expected nothing less than amazing from her. Can't wait for her next book!!!!

Am I guilty of trying to read anything on KU that comes across my TikTok FYP? Yes. Do I finish most of those books? No.
But this one I thoroughly enjoyed. Really well written and edited (thank you lordddd), lots of humor and tension and emotional intelligence in the main characters.
I rarely add books to my Read Again list- but this one is going on there - I really enjoyed it.

This book was absolutely amazing! It was not the typical fake dating romance that I read but is my favorite one now! Kathryn Bradley developed the characters so that I absolutely fell for them. This book is definitely in my top three so far for the year! I can not wait for the next book!

I was very lucky to receive an ARC copy.

This story was everything I needed and more. The writing was great and the story flowed effortlessly. I fell in love with the characters. All of them. I am very excited about book 2.

DNF 50% - This book was fine but I just didn’t care all that much about the characters. I didn’t really like the MFC. I’m assuming she lightens up a bit as time goes on, but at half way, I’ve lost interest in her growth.
