I have loved Taylor Byas ever since I saw her work in Pleiades. Her work in forms is incredible. It's so hard to pick my favorite poem, but I really like how in "Joking About the Pandemic. A Friend Texts The Group Chat 'I've unhoed myself'" considering Jason B. Crawford. The turns it takes in thinking about the word "hoe" are fabulous. I can't wait to read her full length book.

Dr. Taylor Byas is absolutely enthralling in this chapbook!!! Some of my favorite poems in this collection include Your Husband Says Let's Try Something New, The Therapist Asks Me "What Are You Afraid Of?", and Mirror Stage, because what an opener! It is sexy, striking, and interrogative of self in the best possible way. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Taylor’s poetry is a reminder of the fact that poems are a form of art
