Thoughtful, inspiring, and full of teachable moments

This book is full of positive affirmations As well as easy-to-adapt methods of transforming one’s life. Imagine the person you really want to be – – values, qualities and actions. The author gives you a whole box of tools to implement to make it so. Honestly, he had my full attention with one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes regarding purpose, but he sealed the deal with a quote from Helen Keller: “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” He also references many additional books and authors that I want to add to my library. I have already shared his six Lifesavers with everyone who is near and dear to me. Thank you, Mr. Chen, for a wonderful book!

Liberating, insightful, profound!

The Art of Being While Becoming is an awesome read with a number of deeply profound truths! Perspective, deep listening, being truly present, and so many more! Vladimir Chen brings clarity and understanding through his own experience to help others to experience "being" while they become. I enjoyed his reflective exercises and the enlightening moments I now get to savor as I practice BEING. So much of my life has focused on past and future that the moments were lost on me. Thanks to this author for sharing!

This book was very impactful for me. The tone was confident and warm. I loved the part about regaining perspective. Historically I have lost perspective many times because of a perfectionistic personality. I believe that knowing my "why" will help pull me forward. I liked the golf ball, sand and water exercise for clarity. Personally I identified with the idea that time is my enemy and can see now how this is flawed. I am going to attempt to stop focusing on time and concentrate on what really matters. I can see that I will need to reread sections for top ups to keep me on track.

Unfinished, for my taste many generic advices and big talks, repeating one and the same message over and over, references to the same self-help training that the author attended and how it changed his life, transposing these learnings onwards, I haven't felt like there were many original thoughts and contributions in this book. It could be a good first self-help book for a teen or something like that, but otherwise I find it more useful to read some of the original sources and/or other books in general.

Interestingly self reflective and inspiring!

It is obvious that the author is passionate about his subject matter. He’s quoted a number of works that are full of useful material, like Tony Robbins—whom I often disagree with, but who says very interesting and useful things like “The quality of your life depends on the quality of your questions”. And on the importance of the morning in creating a wonderful day—of the need to stimulate your—or in my case, myself—with a healthy diet of good reading material.
There is much more, but Atomic Habits is a terrific book he references as well.
Thank you!
