I think I liked this one more than the last two (though I did still enjoy those, don’t get me wrong). It wasn’t so much “things happen to the characters” as the others were. They were actually doing the stuff this time, trying to figure out what happened to Rufus’s parents and then why they were missing memories.
Also, everyone was together! Not just Laurence and Quentin, but also Freddy, Mikey, Rufus, Angela, Myriam. I really liked seeing their group dynamics. Group dynamics are fun, especially when everyone doesn’t perfectly get along.
Anyway, as I said last time, sometimes I don’t have a whole lot to say that I haven’t already said many times this far into a series. But it’s a great series, and I’m really enjoying the characters, the relationships, the magic, and everything else!

Love this series
There were parts of this book that seemed too abrupt, but there was also a lot going on. I know it’s been hinted at that Rufus isn’t what he seems but I was kind of surprised anyway.
I am a little annoyed that it’s taken so long for Laurence to figure out Nicky is important. I’m more annoyed that Frederick and Quentin don’t seem to have noticed. That’s been and still is the biggest hole in this entire series and seems unrealistic that no one has thought of it. I wondered about it a long time ago…

After 8 books I can safely say I am obsessed with this series. I love Laurence, Quentin, Frederick, Basil and even Mikey at this point. I think the characters are the main strength of this series. I think that Laurence and Quentin's relationship growth took a bit of a back seat in this one, and am hoping they are more front and center in the next book. I know this is a fantasy series but the magic parts are my least favorite thing about these books. I just don't care about the magic, but I will follow any of these characters around doing literally anything else.

Another excellent instalment in the Inheritance saga with the usual resolution of some threads and the dangly ends of others that will be picked up in future books. It was well worth the wait, and I appreciate the author's hard work to get this out to readers despite everything.
I have no idea how Freddy managed to muscle in and become my favourite character, although I still adore Quentin.

Absolutely incredible! I love how with each book, the world/s expand further. Also Myriam chapters 😍

Enjoyable story that is well written with likeable characters and good world building. The narration is very good as well.
