My Slave, My Property

Rate this book
"You're my slave. My sex slave. My property. I will pay you back in spades—everything you and your father ever did to me and my people. I want nothing more in the world now, than to hurt you so bad."

A love born from deep-rooted hatred...

King Lucien hates her more than anything in the world, because she is the daughter of the king who killed his family and enslaved him, and his people. He made her his slave. He owns her, and he will pay her back in spades, everything her father did to him. And her father did a lot—scarred him into being the powerful but damaged monster king he is.

A King who battles insanity every single day.
A King who hates—loathes—to be touched.
A King who hasn't slept well in the past fifteen years.
A King who can't produce an heir to his throne.
A King with more demons to fight than a demonchaser.

Oh, will he make her pay...

But then again, Princess Danika is nothing like her father. She is different from him. Too different.
And when he set out to make her pay, he is bound to find out just how different she is from her father.

Kiss Leilani

When Kiss Leilani was twelve, she snuck into her older sister's room while she slept to steal one of her romance novels, curious to discover why her sister was always lost in a book. That single act of rebellion created a lifelong obsession.

From that moment, a chronic booknapper was born—one who blossomed into an avid reader and, over time, an equally passionate writer.

For Kiss Leilani, writing has since become more than a hobby; it’s a joy and an integral part of her life.

The story has so much potential…. The writing was just not very good. Clearly in need of serious editing. A character “peaked” around the corner, for example. Choppy sentence structure. Repetition. Just all kinds grammatical issues throughout. Wondering if it might have been translated from another language (doesn't note that anywhere though).

Oddly, the author used current day phrases in a book set in ancient or medieval times. Ex, a maid was asked to spread a rumor around the castle and she responded that it would “trend” by the end of the day. Another time, someone referred to another character as the “Wicked Witch of the West.” And in another instance, the villain of the story yelled, “Keep to your lane” at the h. None of these are things that anyone then would have said. If the author was trying to infuse current day verbiage into a story set long ago, it needed to be constant/throughout the story and done facetiously; this just seemed ridiculous.

The “dark aspects” of the story didn’t bother me - there were several of them (forced sex/rape; sadist behaviors; torture; violence; etc) as much as some of the plot points did. For example, there is a character so horribly treated for years when she was a child slave that she clearly suffers from severe PTSD. She has been seen by the best healers from the 12 kingdoms, etc., etc. The first time the h meets her for all of 2 minutes, the damaged character is suddenly functional again. What?

Like I said, the concept is good; the execution was just awful. Also, worth noting that this is not a complete story - it continues in the next (and probably the one after that since there are 3 book in this series).

Plot --- 2/5 (the idea would get a 4)
Writing Style --- 1.5/5
Main Characters --- 2/5
Supporting Cast --- 1.5/5 (the h's best friend/former maid's dialogue was annoying the way she was written)
Steam Level* --- 4.5/5
Violence --- violent rape, knife play
Triggers --- numerous (child rape, forced sex, violence, emotional abuse...)
Language --- yes
POV --- 3rd

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

don't. just... don't. in serious need of editing, it's like reading a 13 year old's fan fiction writing attempts. i skipped through large parts, simply because i couldn't believe something as poorly written as this has been published. so... no. just no.

Sometimes a book fills a need. Not necessarily a need for knowledge or traveling in your head, a darker need. So this was it for me. Since the year began, I've been reading high-fantasy or low-fantasy books, and it is sometimes draining in its intensity, demanding a lot from the reader. So this was my break. Yeah yeah, I take breaks with dark romance or, if you want to use my husband's expression, porn.
As far as good books go in this genre this is not the best. It is really cliched, has a lot of mistakes on number and gender agreement and verb conjugation. Many times the author seems to forget in which tense (past or present) she is writing and her gender agreement isn't up to par and it was such a mess! I kept correcting her sentences in my head. I will just mention that apart from grammatical errors there were spelling mistakes and even words written wrong or used with the wrong meaning.
I will however say that the sex scenes were hot! I mean really hot and it completely fulfilled my expectations and needs.
The story itself holds. It had logic, a storyline, and it was compelling. It wasn't bad.
My mother used to read this newspaper stand novels when I was little and this feels like that, so I was a little embarassed. Still am, if am being truthful. It isn't something I would brag about, but it was what I wanted to read and well, I will read some other thing later to compensate, maybe some Balzac!=p

~ MF Master/ Slave
~ tortured souls
~ revenge
~ 21+

✅ cervical penetration

☑️ Check your triggers, there’s many

This has a great plot and overall interesting story with complex characters who’ve had their station in life flipped upside down. I really wish this had an editor because it’d be an easy five star read with the grammar and plot holes fixed. I’m still venturing into book 2 despite these things.

~ rape of h by H, not non con…there’s no pleasure for her, only pain

Spoilers: This story operates on the old premise that kings can sleep with anyone but expect loyalty from their women, so it’s important to know this going in. The H has a long term mistress for most of the story he still sleeps with even after falling for the h and only stops in Book 3. She’s a major character all the way through and sometimes I felt like he actually did care more for her than the h until the end. So unfortunately I had to rate this lower because even at 60% of last book he still called the mistress “his woman” and only let her go to hold onto her in some way.

found this book on one of those apps that make you pay coins for the next chapter for an extreme price, then i found it on kindle for 4.99 bc which is much better than $ 10 for 1000 coin that only last for a few chapters. I read through this series like crazy. this book was on my mind for hours on ends. the plot and everything about this book is amazing. Now there are errors in the writing but literally i ignored them because the book was just too good for me to care. this book series has so much potential! it just needs to be read by the right people and shared about. these books need to be professionally edited and then made into paperbacks and published on more sites. I recommend this book series 100% and you HAVE to read the whole series! the characters are to die for and love, the traumatic back stories make this dark romance even more dark and lovable. if you’re an empath as i, then you will completely fall for these characters and their brokenness. I don’t want to spoil anything just read these beautifully written series. When i say beautifully written i don’t mean the error. This author is so incredibly detailed and really dives deep into the characters emotions. It’s so lovely to read. Her writing is spectacular.

I’m afraid I ended up finding this book in a TikTok rabbit hole. 🐇🕳️

You know with those videos with the ai voice and baking in the background. 🤖🦾🦿🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Then I went on Literie like it said and read the free chapters. 💩💩💩

Then when I had to pay for the rest, I went on safari and searched up “The alpha king’s hated slave” which I legit thought was the read name of the story (it isn’t). 🤡🤡🤡

I read it on the website, “Jobnib” if you wanted to know. 🤫🤫

I actually didn’t know it was a real book when I was reading it nor that it was a series! 📚📚

✨✨I LOVE THIS FUCKING BOOK?!?✨ ✨

although I FUCKING HATE THE MISTRESS. 🤬👹🤬

I’m already on chapter 176 and just found out that I read the first 2 books. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I just thought it was just a very long book…

great story concept - appalling editorial quality

As many have said in the reviews this is a strong story and I enjoyed the concept. But the book is not just riddled with errors it is flooded with them. I needed to listen to it as the readability was zero. I ‘m surprised this hasn’t had to be fixed

Despite the outrageous title, this is a long and engaging read. Lucian & Danika. No werewolves in this one. I guess I'm firmly back in a romance reading phase. World building could have been more fleshed out.

The author can write but this story was a mess. There was so many POV’s and multiple sexual encounters with others. One where the MMC has a pleasure session and has another man finger her then her to give him a BJ while he watches. He rapes her violently before that to the point she needed days to recover. He has a mistress that he continues to fuck one scene after he fucks her after he was with MFC. The mistress is a nightmare and tortures the MFC. There are more books and their “love” story continues. I say love with a ya right. The authors tries to explain his actions from being held as a slave himself by the MFC father. He was made to fuck his servant in the ass. He was tortured. He placed all that hate on the MFC even though she is her own person. After he was in that horrible situation he treats her like shit, rapes her, he has sex with OW, is cruel and allows the situation to develop where OW tortures her. From the preview the second book is no better and he continues to treat her badly and fuck the OW. I won’t continue with this series. Even in the world the author developed the rape was brutal and he showed no remorse in his POV. It was accepted no one tried to stop or help her. They heard her screams. It could have been a great story if after he had a moment of feeling remote like what did I do I have become what I hated. He allowed another to touch her had her preform oral on another he continued to fuck OW. I don’t see change or any development and placing this over multiple books is dragging on what could have been great in one book.

So Kiss Leilani's books are my guilty pleasure reading. I read this book because I actually really liked her Prince books. I'd say these read more like erotic fantasy than anything else. When I say these are trashy novels, they have to be pretty trashy, like the Harlequin Romances were cheap novels but oh so satisfying. I read pretty explicit and dark books, but at least those attempt to have good writing. This was the thinnest of structures and writing, but yet satisfying enough, like a high school author writing a fantasy novel, but with explicit adult themes. The nuances and reactions and understanding of the characters had only the most basic of motivations, for instance. The mistress villain is a repeat character, for instance, in this author's stories, and she is completely one dimensional as a greedy angry jealous mistress, but without any practical concept of the reasonability of her behavior. Same for the slave supervisor. Like, he was only driven by lust, and not by any practical considerations of fear of punishment. All the villains and the characters are pretty one-dimensional.

Still, I love me a good sex slave story and a redemption he-falls-for-her arc. I'm still waiting to see what kind of twists and turns show up in the remainder of the book.

I have to admit that I had a hard time at the beginning of the book & wondered if I wanted to read the whole thing. Lucien’s abuse of Danika and how all the kingdoms’ kings treated slaves in general was very hard to read. On Lucien’s part as I read more and more of the torture he put up with under Dani’s father, the more empathy I had for him. But it was definitely worth hanging in there. The more explanations that unfolded, the better the story got.

Over the three books, the character development was great, although some characters took waaaaay longer than others. With the events that happened in their lives though, it would have been unrealistic for them to have changed any quicker.

I do have to say though that the reason I dropped a star had to do with the writing. The grammar needed work and the entire story needed a good editor. Some people complained about modern day terms being used in a medieval story. This is not a great epic novel, so it’s something I can overlook.

Stopped the second book almost immediately (OW spoiler)

I’m fine with OW drama with the story, but a certain point it ruins it when a certain line is crossed. When within the first few pages OF THE SECOND BOOK he sleep with the OW again???? Sorry, it’s character destruction. I can’t continue. What was the point of the first book?

3 stars because the first book was good though. And I loved all the dark romance elements. Continue if you’re fine with this. I just don’t know how I can continue the series when the character the author built just reverts, out of no where, to the way he was in the beginning of this book….. what was the point?

Actually so surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Yes, it is in need of some editing but that doesn’t at all take away from the reading experience. The story is entertaining and not too fluffy. Sometimes I want to read something that is more fast-paced and character driven, rather than something with lengthy descriptions and a deep analysis of a character’s every emotion. That being said, it is not too light of a read. There are a lot of dark elements in this book. When it comes to the morals of the characters, there are a lot of grey areas, which I appreciate. Definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

I came across an excert of this book on my Facebook newsfeed. I was a bit bored, so I glanced over the blurb, fully expecting to scroll on. Let's face it, most of these pay-per-chapter novels are so badly written that it's an insult to the brain just to read a few sentences. Most attempts are choppy and wooden, the characters 1 dimensional and the vernacular is juvenile. But, this one kind of caught me. One reason was that it was written in 3rd person POV, which is my preference. I was so happy to find it was actually on Kindle Unlimited. So, I could appease my curiosity without getting suckered and discard it when it fulfilled my negative expectations.

Well, can I say, I was pleasantly surprised. Apart from a very few grammar gripes (could do with some good editing), the writing was passable, the plot intriguing and the character development captivating. I'm rather pleased for myself. I'm fully invested and I'm going on to book #2. Well done, author with the strange first name, Kiss.

Oh, and what's with the cover? It bears no relevance to the book at all. I'm glad I started reading before I saw it. I think I might've been out off. Blurgh!

good story

Feels like a book I would read on one of those Korean sites. Only issue is grammar. I could have easily correct these issues myself and I’m not expert so I can only imagine no editing was done.

Over all I was highly entertained and read the book in two days. Will read the next one. What’s funny is how they reference the “wicked witch of the west” and use carriages. But have bath rooms with running water lol. It’s like they don’t know what time period there in. Anyways. If ur not picky about grammar I recommend.

DNF at 32%. I really wanted to persevere. This is a common theme... I see a lot of stories I have stopped reading. Unfortunately, I do not make a living by reading and I read romances for entertainment. Thus, if it is hard for me to get into it despite me trying multiple times, I do have to give up. A lot of these reviews I am also now updating GR with are books I have been reading throughout this year and have paused.

Kindle clean-out review:

It's just not giving. Despite the promise of the outrageously lurid title, it's not that fun to read!

A Must Read more than once

This is my second time reading this series and I’m in love with it just as much as the first time. You can’t put it down! From the very beginning, through all the downs and ups, you just get sucked into this world. You hate some characters, you love some others and you even learn to love one of the king. This is a must read. However, please be aware there ARE some major triggers in here for some people. So please read those first before diving in. Happy Reading!

Very dark

I started to read this after finding it on a pay by chapter website. I was intrigued by the storyline and was not expecting it to be so dark and spicy. The main characters are tortured souls, and they all have gone through a great deal of suffering. I couldn't put the book down and read it in a few hours. I will be reading the rest of the series because I'm interested to see how Danicas story ends.

Good storyline… but the writing could use some work

I liked the storyline a lot and think it would have been way better if it had been written by a more experienced writer. No offense intended, though I know that sounds harsh, but the way scenes were written just didn’t pull me in as much as they should have. I’ll read the next book though, because the story is engaging.

I’m genuinely surprised I liked this…

No BS. I’m shocked.. the storyline is actually pretty good ! Lol. I’m surprised I enjoyed reading this. It ended on a cliffhanger but I’m about to go read book 2 now. I’m curious to see how things play out with the Princess and King. The kings mistress. The kingdom…it was a sad story for most parts but it was good.

I think that the plot and the idea is wonderful - hence why I bought. however as i went through it I wished that it had been properly edited. There was a lot of repetition and it came to a point where I was just flipping through the pages.

The story could have been great but the pacing was terrible, the characters are idiots, an its so angsty, its almost as if a 15 year old wrote this to be "so grown up and dark". Honestly I just wanted almost everyone to be dead

the writing isn’t great but I enjoyed the story

The story was good, especially the softening of the king towards the slave. You can tell it wasn’t edited well as there were quite a few typos and some grammatical issues.
