The Burden of Affection

Rate this book
This little book carries poems about that love, the kind we have all felt at one point or the other. Its tenderness, its honesty, its pain and its travesty, and everything in between.

Poetry is something I turn to when I feel out of touch – for it shows the emotions in their rawest form. This collection puts up the most vulnerable side of a person when they deal with love, for there is no other way.
In just a few pages, I was in a trance – the writing style is simple but exquisite, and at the end I was shuffling the pages, wanting more of the book. In the most subtle undertones, the book speaks to the reader’s innermost conscience, and the feeling is beyond words. The book has a lot of imagery, and illustrations as a visual aid, both of which contribute positively to the overall reading experience.
I totally loved this book, and I recommend it to everyone. As the book has simple language and uncomplicated literary devices, it is also beginner-friendly.
