When little brother Gian’s asthma medicine runs dangerously low, they are unwittingly forced into the path of Bermania’s next conquest, Fenric Castle. In a series of mishaps that end with Maria and Gian being kidnapped by Bermanians masquerading as brigands, Adrian and Luca find themselves at odds with the local authorities. They must rely on their own skill and wit if they are to survive. Will they rescue Maria and Gian? If so, at what cost to their personal freedom?

I read this book after the author reached out to me on my tiktok account and asked if I would be willing to read his series.
I’m not going to lie, I struggled to resonate with it a little bit. I went in with an open mind, knowing that the genre was a YA coming of age fantasy, and my star rating reflects this as I am not typically a YA reader.
That being said, this book has a wide variety of characters and world building, and interesting plot that I think will grip lovers of the genre. Unfortunately for me, it was a bit young for me, but I would recommend this for someone in their late teens/early adulthood who is wanting to read a book aimed toward that age group, with problems and conversations that are more appropriate for that age, and somewhat complex plot lines. I am unsure about the romance aspect thus far, I haven’t read far enough to be able to give any information on that.
I have a strong appreciation for this genre and was drawn in by the premise. Often in these stories we read about characters who have names that are difficult to remember on initial reading, so I was happy to see the names were unique but still easy to remember.
I was completely drawn to Rizzo and his band of adventurers. I like the dynamic between the characters and how each character came with their own set of flaws. These characters had qualities that made them likable, but at the same time made you frustrated with some of their actions. I can appreciate characters that come across as real!
There is an action sequence that had me on the edge of my seat and this made me curious for what future action sequences might look like.
I am excited to see what happens next in this series!
I really enjoyed the the sword fighting and action scenes. "Wanted" quickly pulls you in and reads like you're watching a movie. It is a fast read that drops you directly into the action and takes you for an adventure.
