Reily Garrett is a writer, mother, and companion to three long coat German shepherds. When not working with her dogs, she’s sitting at her desk with her furkids by her side. Author of chilling suspense and snarky romance, her stories include romantic thrillers and paranormal romance, . Regardless of genre, each book delves into a dark and twisted imagination yet is tempered with romance and a touch of humor. Reviews by Kirkus Reviews, San Francisco Bay Review, and BestThrillers.com best describe her work: "This could be James Patterson, Lee Child, and Tess Gerritsen rolled into one, but the dark, twisted methods used by the serial killer could surprise even those readers…” - San Francisco Bay Review “…steamy, seductive police procedural…” - BestThrillers.com “…well-researched thriller that remains romantically genuine throughout.” - Kirkus Review
Prior experience in the Military Police, private investigations, and as an ICU nurse gives her fiction a real-world flavor.
Dylan has all the skills he needs to locate the family he abandoned and kill the devil himself but his ex-boss is demanding one more mission in exchange for assistance in this spellbinding paranormal romance.
Major Clannahan has attached Tori to the unit charged with locating a terrorist cell and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the fireworks that explode throughout this romance as Tori and Dylan clash with explosive passion. The chemistry rocks their foundations but the relationship has a snag…Tori loves Major Clannahan which keeps the entire unit sitting on a time bomb. Kyley and Kiera’s relationships are still going strong and the psychic warriors are still going after Roth and the terrorists with everything they got. These strong compelling characters demand the reader’s attention while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, turmoil, action and romance and the emotional turbulence that flows from the pages grips the readers by the heart ensuring that the reader wants to know everything.
Lots of danger and excitement streams from the pages keeping the adrenaline pumping as the terrorists set out to attack in ways that no one is anticipating, Dylan’s unit comes under attack and the psychic warriors try to convince Dylan that they are all on the same side which is a bit difficult considering there is a traitor hindering Dylan’s mission. Vivid imagery captures the imagination and brings the story to life and the well-orchestrated events draws the readers in and guarantees that they become completely absorbed in the story while the fascinating psychic abilities of these warriors adds extra spice and thrills.
I was held hostage throughout Dylan and Tori’s exciting romance that had quite a few twists and turns that kept me guessing and I have to say that the ending is a perfect one for Dylan, Kyley and Kiera, although I do have to wonder about Dylan’s other sisters and Ouray and the woman he met in the hospital.
I really enjoyed reading this one. Tori and Dylan have the kind of relationship many of us can relate to. I haven't read the first 2 books but could understand this one nicely. Could be a standalone. There are many different genres all wrapped up in one here. Great read! Shyla Wolff will see more of me.
This is book three of The Guardians series and the main character in this book is Logan Channon, whose story starts as a young nine year old boy, faced with the most impossible decision. His uncle, Roth, had hunted down his family to get back at his sister, but in her absence, he forced Logan to make the choice of killing his father, or his little baby sister Ashlyn. Luckily, his mother and his sisters were away at the doctors for an appointment. The act he was forced to do, led him on a path of darkness, as he ran from what was left of his family, unable to face them after what he did. He grew up doing all he could to prepare to carry out his father’s last request. To find the rest of his family and train himself to be able to do so, by developing his own psychic abilities and skills learnt in the military. To be ready for whatever comes and also to get revenge against Roth! Two decades later, he has just left the military and less than an hour after his departure, his ex-commander Major Clannahan, asked to speak to him. He wants assistance from Logan to help track down a terrorist group and in return he has some news about his sisters, Ashlyn and Keira. He doesn’t get to work with his usual unit! The Major has brought along Tori (Tourmaline) McPherson, a psych expert, Kevin their computer tech expert and liaison with the major and Chaz their tech, logistics and backup in the field. But the major has new that there is a mole in their organisation and there had already been two attempts on his own life and he had put his family into a safe house. The major doesn’t know about Logan’s special abilities, nor those of others around them, but he has questions. They have some news about a Dr Talbot at Fort Detrick and a mutated virus, whilst a large amount of C4 had been stolen and they don’t know where any targets may be. Links to a terrorist called Hamar, bring concerns about numerous terrorist attacks occurring shortly. Logan wants to find his family and soon learns his twin sisters may have been located, but the major can’t tell him exactly where and he and the team need to stop these terror attacks first and foremost! Roth is back in the mix and working on his own plans to get one or both of the sisters for himself, plus Logan, if he can. Nicolai and his group of warriors, along with Keira and her twin sister Ashlyn, will soon have to team up with Kenner’s group, who they recently had help them when they were attacked by Roth and Co. Tori knows nothing about people with certain abilities and is on her very first mission, mainly due to her link to the major and the fact he trusts her. Annoyingly, Logan can’t figure out exactly what her relationship is to the major, especially how close she seems to him, but how she also seems to react in a romantic way to Logan himself. When he finally gets to meet his sisters, Logan sees how strongly their men, Wyatt and Taylor, protect them and clearly love them, as he does Tori. Logan has to finally tell someone else about what he was forced to do as a child and what happened because of his choices back then. Nicolai is very good at seeing what is in someone’s future and being easy to talk to about difficult matters. There is still more of his family to be found once they stop the terrorist attack and put an end to Roth, once and for all. Depending on who kills him, it may mar their future and their very soul. Difficult actions to be taken by Logan and his sisters and nothing ever goes right or easily when you have such evil enemies. A complex ending which allows for some sense of satisfaction for actions of the past, but still so much more to come. I look forward to reading more about the Channon family and seeing what all of them can do! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Terrifying decisions and their consequences – a bristling thriller continues!
Author Reily Garrett has been employed as an ICU nurse, a private investigator, and in the military police – all of which supplies her with the intricate and detailed knowledge from which she forges her books. She addresses issues such as man's cruelty and ingenuity for torment and torture, having witnessed the after-effects of a teenager mugged at knife point for a pair of tennis shoes, or an elderly woman stabbed repeatedly with a screwdriver for no apparent reason- all leaving an indelible impression that will forever haunt her subconscious. On the other side other spectrum of experiences she has observed a woman stopping her vehicle in severe, snowy weather to offer her own winter coat to a stranger, a teenager wearing a threadbare hoodie - life's diversities observed by Reily are endless. Her Guardians Series continues with SHADOWED PASSAGES.
Plunging into the drama of this third episode reveals an even stronger prose that paints her story, ‘twenty one years prior’ – “The choice is yours, boy, but understand this, not choosing is making a decision. Do it before I take away the opportunity. The difference is, I won’t kill one. I’ll kill them both. Father or sister. You have all the power,” Roth kept his tone calm and gentle, the way anyone should when talking to a nine-year-old. Confusion engulfed the boy’s aura, and the kid didn’t need any more distractions in making up his mind…. “Daddy? What should I do?” Tears streamed down Logan’s face…His gaze slid down for his father to his baby sister, now held by Roth. When he looked back at his dad’s bruised and bloodied face, he cried harder
With that retrospective history this episode follows: ‘Tariffs paid on an ill-fated decision can last a lifetime. A young boy faces an impossible situation. Father or sister, he must kill one for the other to survive. Two decades later, Logan Channon has developed his psychic talents and trained with the military to learn the skills necessary to find the family abandoned as a child. The problem is, he’s not the only one who’s searching. His military discharge includes a request from his ex-commander to root out a terrorist cell in exchange for help in locating his family. Graduating with her psych doctorate, Tori McPherson anticipates the start of her first job. Instead, fate thrusts her into a world of espionage, fierce warriors, and unexplained phenomena. Courage and honor mask betrayal and deceit. All intertwine to challenge their every move. Each must depend on the other while staying ahead of the traitor in their midst.’
As always, reading this episode heightens the energy to await the fourth volume. Once again Reily proves her position on the platform of excellent mystery novels is assured. Very highly recommended.
~Another great book in a great series ~First, I’ll state that I received this book as a gift from the author to read and review. ~The action and the growth in team relationships was non-stop in the exciting sequel. This is the third book and the story continues on at a breakneck speed. This is one of those books (series) that the action is non-stop. The descriptions of the fighting draws the reader right into the battle. ~It is fun to see the characters develop, the interaction between them, the building of loyalty, coming to know and depend upon each other’s ‘talents’ in dramatic situations. There is also a playful side seeing family dynamics unfold…the relationships between lovers and siblings. I love how the author has mixed hand-to-hand combat skills with more modern weaponry right along with the paranormal ‘talent’ that the main characters have. ~I will say that there were a few sections that were hard to read…the big bad guy, Roth, really was psychotic and purely evil. (I hope that we have seen the last of him … though I have my concerns!) ~I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read the first two in the series. And I would definitely recommend to anyone who has not yet read the other two books -to do so NOW!
With each new story I read from author Reily Garrett the more I fall in love with her incredibly creative world of storytelling. Often delving into complex mysteries revolving around aspects of paranormal abilities, the social morals of good verses bad, and most definitely a budding romance along the way. She creates such in depth characters that you can really empathise with, and often fall in love with hoping they find their happily ever afters or their much deserved success and contentment. The story of Logan and his actions when he was younger can now come to the forefront and finally be put to rest and it is this journey that the readers will be taken on. Don't expect a simple action scenario but something that will take you on a truly wild adventure leaving you wanting more. Again yet another wonderful literary adventure one that you will not be disappointed in. Very much a standalone read, but like anything if you simply pick up this one book you will want to explore the rest of Reily's world as each book seems to compliment every other one.

Trust is a common issue in this series and this book is no exception. When everything you have ever done has been secret, learning to trust others is very difficult. That applies to both our hero and heroine.
This is book three of the series, but it is written as a standalone. No prior reading is required to enjoy this one.
This is an urban fantasy story with a bit of the paranormal woven in. The story is well written, easy to read and starts off with a bang. Not literally, but it does grab hold of you right away and never lets go. The characters are well done with a firm sense of being that brings the story to life. Overall, this was a fast paced story and I really enjoyed this addition to the series. I can't wait to see where it goes next.
Highly recommended.

Book three follows on three months later.we follow Logan now age 30 army trained and signed off so he can try even harder to find his sister's and mother.plus kill roth.
I did find a few errors or missed information. ashlyn dreamed of Logan telling her to find her sister (that could of been Keith's doing ) but it was clear logan was trying to help.so when she meets Logan shouldn't she have said something? Also what ages was her three other sisters? What was their names? That could of been a heart breaking and beautiful moment when he shares who they are.plus the symbol at that house (was it Logan's birth house) I wondered if the mum is running a opp trying to find her kids is she Keith's and David's boss?
I don’t always review a book I read, especially in a series, because if a series does not hold my interest, I might not even finish it. That usually means all books in the series are turning out to be basically quite good, no one book better than the other. But this series is holding its own in so many different ways, I’ve got to stop and give it it’s due. Well written, great character depth; love the family of misfits who find their joy in family. Enticing paranormal gifts that weave together as needed in each skirmish. Hope you read it and enjoy it as much as I have.
Absolutely loving this series. This book covers Logan's story and the prologue was truly heartbreaking. Logan is determined to end Roth and find his sister's. A new off the books mission from his old commander offers an opportunity for both. Another fast paced action packed book full of paranormal abilities, strong bonds of family and friends, brutal terrorists, revenge, humour, love and romance. Brilliant.

This author never disappoints me. This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Logan will never forget that dreadful day when he was only nine yo. Roth forced him to make a decision that would haunt him the rest of his life. Years later Logan has trained to become an excellent warrior and searches for his long lost family. Logan's old major offers him a chance to help him locate his lost family and to help bring Roth down. Meeting Tori was just what Logan needed. Together with his sisters and their friends with special talents they search to bring Roth and Hamar down. Can't wait for next installment Shadowed Spirits!!
Keira, Ashlyn, and now Logan, family found and joined by Tori. family that had been apart now together.
Logan had found his Sisters and their adopted family. Now he has to keep them safe. But best laid plans, they have other ideas and protectors. It is up to him to learn to join the family that is waiting for him to make the steps needed. To fight with them and to learn that they all have gifts like him. And then there is Tori. The major brought her to him as part of a team. But he fell in love with her and doesn’t know what to do about the major. Tori loves him also.
Up until this book, I’ve enjoyed the psychic aspect of the series. That’s why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. This book is more of the dominant male who can’t think of anything but sex with the girl. In a couple of pages they can’t be in the same room without having sex. He claims her as “his woman”. Ugh. I continued flipping pages until I could find the actual psychic story buried in this book. If you’re into alpha males and their claimed women, then you’ll probably like this book. Not sure if I’m going to continue with this series.
This series just keeps getting better as more gifted join the ranks of the guardians. I really enjoy the introduction of new characters on both sides of the fence. Has Roth finally been dealt with? Will the remaining family members be found? There lots of emotion in here and paranoia too. Logan and Taylor seem to see things similarly which may well help them define a more significant bond. An excellent read.
The common theme that underlies this series is trust. Making difficult decisions has been the way of life for Logan, starting at a young age. A fantastic story filled with family, love, terrorists, secrets, forgiveness, and suspense. This series has been a joy to read with all the different talents of the characters. Looking forward to reading the next book. I received a copy, and I'm voluntarily giving my honest review.
Reily Garrett has an attention to detail in her stories that is remarkable be it evil or loving and she does it in spades in this story, but there is a balance between the horrifying evil of Roth and the growing love between Logan and Tori. There are ups and downs and twists and turns and some very satisfying moments as well as a lovely ending and the promise of more to come.
Complete and utter trash. If you like women being disrespected, sexually harassed, and manipulated by women you’ll love this book. It was completely different from the previous books. I hate Logan and grew to hate Taylor too. No self respecting woman would want either of them. This book seemed like it was written by a misogynistic man, not a woman.
This is a "sit on the edge of your chair holding your breath" kind of action, who done it mystery. So many secrets....so many interesting characters in all three books. Glad I'm reading the series.
In this, the third tale in the series, we add a new member of the team and family. Twists abound and new powers emerge. Family is still number one no matter what challenges and danger appears.
This book (series) is full of excitement, suspense, humor and all the things that are part of a great story. There's a bit of steamy romance, too. (Not too graphic) The paranormal talents add to the action. Well done!
The Guardians by Reilly Garrett has kept me enthralled and mesmerized for two days, I’m loving this series. Kudos to Reilly Garrett. I read daily and this story has me completely hooked.
The biggest threats are gone, Roth to the Void and the terrorists neutralized. Keira, Asylum and Logan are reunited and are now all married to their loves. Love this author and this series.
This is a really good series. The way the family is growing is just amazing. It holds you just like being part of a family would. Can't wait to see what happens next. See the next part of the growing family.
The first couple books weren't too bad but I can't even finish this one. I don't care much for Logan and I actively dislike Tori. Too much concentration is given to sexual attraction and not enough to the story.
This series just gets better and better. A paranormal love story with suspense. The relationship is not smooth sailing, but so happy in the end as family comes together
A man in search of his family gets involved in a military situation. He agrees to help a former commander to find a terrorist cell and all that are involved. The female character is thrown into this world and doesn’t know what to expect. A riveting thriller.
