I have read all the books from the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series. It has been fun to see the stories evolve from a glamping site in the Willamette Valley to the fictional town of Malquar, home of King Alfred, Queen Charlotte, and their many kids. This transition started with It's My Party, where we first met Geoffrey, who was working as a chef at the glamping lodge. Now that Geoffrey, Alistair, and Bree have met their true loves, thanks to the help of some meddling mothers (including the Queen), it's Andrew's turn.

In Queen of Hearts, Andrew (Drew) is next in line to be king and he takes that very seriously. So seriously that he won't even consider dating someone outside of his "station." And that includes Agnes, his new secretary whom he finds very attractive. This causes him to act in a way he doesn't normally act toward his staff, and his mom knows it.

I enjoyed the Queen's machinations for trying to get Drew to admit he wants to be with Agnes, regardless of her "station." Some things didn't even need to be manipulated by her since they fell into place so easily on their own. However, Chantelle is an extra complication, as she thought she had a chance at being Drew's intended and she can't handle the "competition" for his interest. (Think Princess Diaries meets Mean Girls here.) I don't blame Agnes for being angry at Drew so often throughout the novel. This story had a sizzling enemies-to-lovers appeal, as a result!

This was a fun and sweet story, overall. There were many moments where I found myself laughing and smiling. I got frustrated with the Queen not just telling Andrew that he could marry whomever he wants, regardless of their status in society. However, we wouldn't have a story if that had happened. (Kind of like Glinda telling Dorothy she could go home just by clicking her heels, when she first meets her.) And Drew seemed set in his ways no matter what anyone told him otherwise.

Add this to your Valentine's Day reading list, as it's the perfect fit! (And not just because of the title.) Be sure to check out At Last, which will be available in early February. There is even some foreshadowing in this novel for At Last...

Movie casting suggestions:
Agnes: Yael Grobglas
Drew: Henry Cavill
Queen Charlotte: Emma Thompson
Chantelle: India de Beaufort
Amelia: Janet McTeer

Kisses only. This series says it’s seven brides for seven mothers so it is a little annoying that the last three books have had the same mother. I still fine Queen Charlotte super annoying and very manipulative. She doesn’t even care anymore if the people in her match making schemes want to be together. I also still find the change from third person present tense at the beginning of each chapter to first person present jarring.

I found Drew and Agnes’ relationship unhealthy and he was kinda abusive. Agnes even says, “Had anyone else pulled a fraction of what he did, they would have been kicked to the curb so fast their head would have spun. My brain hurts. I have put up with an incredible amount of foolishness and I’ve kept going back for more.” He treats Agnes like crap for two months then somehow they’re in love even though he refuses to accept her. He tells her multiple times that they can’t be together and doesn’t defend her when she is belittled but others. I wish Agnes had left or been very adamant that they were not to be. I don’t see how they are even a thing. Why do they like each other? I have no clue. The time they do spend together they’re either yelling at each other or avoiding each other. I don’t think their relationship is built on anything more than attraction.

The Disappointing Prince . . .

Family makes a mess of things when Queen Charlotte of Malquar, considering herself a talented matchmaker, tries to manipulate Prince Andrew’s love life. Agnes Dupuis is a newly hired secretary for Princess Aubrey who is brilliant and efficient. She has her future planned where she will work for the royal family a few years and then open an employment agency. So the Queen decides Agnes will be perfect for Drew and has her transferred to him as his personal secretary. Drew, however, knows that he should only be considering a titled lady as his partner since she will become Queen one day. He should definitely avoid a commoner.

Agnes, not knowing of all the manipulation around her, cannot figure out why Prince Andrew treats her as he does. She has always had a crush on him. But he won’t even look at her and he’s very rude and dismissive. Will the two of them find some common ground and stop the tense mini-battle? Will he ever look at her as someone he could love? Or is he set against a commoner regardless of her good points, especially as compared to the titled disappointing females he dates?

This is such a fun series! I loved getting to know the children of the Queen, who, let's be honest, runs their lives. Andrew is probably my favorite so far because it's easy to identify with his need to act above reproach and be a good role model/leader. The scenes with Chantelle were so amusing that I was laughing out loud at times. The writing made it so easy to fall into the story and read for hours without even realizing it. Looking forward to getting to know the next one.

I find Whitney has a really engaging writing style that prompts me to keep reading even when I'm annoyed with things like the story structure and characters. As with at least one previous book in the series, I felt the meddling mom parts at the beginning of each chapter interrupted the flow of the main story. The secondary story of Agnes' parents also detracted from the book-- if you want to write a story about a married couple finding their groove again, please write a separate book.

I also found it hard to like Andrew. Like, really hard. Like, I tried and for the most part failed. He treated a lot of women in his life like crap. I think it made it worse that he was self-aware enough to realize this, but kept doing it anyway. And just when I would soften towards him in scenes when he was supporting his friend, I would then remember he used said friend to treat Agnes poorly (badly worded, I know, but I am trying to avoid spoilers). Side note: is Filly really a common nickname for a name as pretty as Felicity? Given it's also a term used for young female horses, I found it insulting. But anyway....

Agnes puts up with a lot in this book, and not just from Andrew. And when he finally gets his head out of his ass and apologizes, it seems anticlimatic and underwhelming.

Charlotte's arsenal for getting Andrew and Agnes together is very low on ideas and kind of repetitive. It also opens Agnes up to more poor treatment from Andrew.

I think I'll stop there.

Drew gets it together

It takes drew almost the whole book to get it together lol. But I did love his secretary. I really want to find out what's up with Sophie.

I LOVED the first few books of this series. But these last 2 (5&6) I didn’t like at all. I don’t even want to finish this one which I expected to be better than the previous book. Not sure if it is because I’m not a fan of books with royals but I was 75% done and didn’t care what happened.

I’ve read the majority of the books within the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series, and I really love the addition of Queen of Hearts! The two main characters, Agnes and Andrew, provided a lot of romantic angst, given they see things so differently when it comes to matters of the heart. Agnes wants to marry for love, while Andrew feels he must marry for responsibility. Given the past and what he’s seen within his own family, he’s convinced he needs to marry someone who will understand the royal lifestyle, which means marrying someone who is of royal background, like him.

I love how Agnes goes against the grain and won’t put up with Andrew’s crap. Andrew doesn’t mean to come off as an elitist, but I could totally understand why Agnes feels as though she could never be good enough for him, or measure up. He’s set the standards so high, and the way Agnes has been written and portrayed, she’s a wonderful character! At times, I felt she might be too good for him. She makes him question his archaic rules at every turn, which I really appreciated. She is a strong, tough character.

The meddling mothers are back again, with Queen Charlotte leading the way in attempting to make a match between Andrew and Agnes. It was nice to see the similarities between Queen Charlotte and Agnes, given the Queen’s background. But even with that, Agnes is really great about setting some boundaries when she begins to feel as though the Queen is becoming too involved. There were times when I felt annoyed by it, too, considering Agnes is put into some uncomfortable and awkward situations, all in the name of matchmaking. I wouldn’t have put up with half of what she went through, and when Agnes takes a stand, it was impossible not to champion her.

Ultimately, Andrew needs to figure out for himself if the responsibility to the crown is worth losing love, and Agnes needs to determine if Andrew is worth the wait. Will he ever see her as more than just her station in life, or will Agnes move on? I really enjoyed the fire between them, and the "will they, won’t they?" foundation that provided a lot of entertainment. A definite five-star read for me!

Beware the matchmaking mamas!

Drew is as arrogant and condescending as an heir to the throne could ever be, so I was expecting a bit of a redemption arc for him to be worthy of our entrepreneuring and intrepid heroine, Agnes. Of course he feels the weight of responsibility, and I guess he can't help being a bit of an elitist, but I soon tired of his constant rudeness to her all because he doesn't want her to get her hopes up that he'll ever seriously consider her a match. All I could think is that it's a good thing Agnes has her own set of balls because one of them certainly should.

Despite Drew's faults, I did enjoy this story, mostly because I loved Agnes and cheered for her every step. She might be just as attracted to him as he is to her, but she's not about to let that interfere with her plans to start her own business after she acquires the necessary experience and connections through her employment for the royal family. She almost makes it all the way to the end of the book without kowtowing to Drew's ambivalence. Thankfully, she doesn't give in until he's ready to confront his issues and their HEA is finally secured.

I loved the chapters that focused on the mothers' POV, especially Queen Charlotte and her over-the-top machinations. She's only got one unattached child left, and God help Sophie once her mother decides who she should be with!

Agnes is the perfect candidate to follow in Charlotte's footsteps; it's just too bad Drew isn't more like his own father. Still, I'm addicted to this series so there's no way I was going to miss this installment. And to the author's note that Mrs. Roper is her spirit animal, all I can say is me, too.

If you haven't read any of this series, start now and be prepared to binge read your way through them all. It's a charming series with genuine feelings and (mostly) terrific characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Andrew is the crown prince of a fictional country and as such, he sets high standards on the women he dates and nobody has been good enough to date more than three times. He is wary of the press and thinks that he's more likely to find a suitable queen who understands the pressure if he marries an aristocrat. His new secretary Agnes is an attractive woman that he sees as off-limits and he acts like a total jerkhole boss in the hopes that she might quit. When this scheme doesn't work the press get a suggestive photo of the two of them and the rumors start. Agnes hides from the paparazzi in the palace and Andrew dates another woman to throw them off Agnes's scent. This third party is an obvious disaster from the start and Drew should have known it so this doesn't speak well of his strategic ability.

The feature that sets this series apart is the inclusion of chapters about the main couple's meddling parents. The Queen has meddled a lot before and this time she's involved Agnes's mother as well as a friend who have been unhappy with their own husbands. They mean well and serve to manipulate situations so that Agnes and Andrew are thrown together but I find their chapters are a bit of a distraction from the main romance.

I liked the general writing style and I was entertained enough to keep reading it in one sitting but I did not care for the hero all that much. He's a prince but, well, he's no prince. In the beginning he is a jerk to her on purpose and later on, he's a jerk to her because he's clueless snob. I thought he needed more groveling and grander gestures and Jones might have turned out to be a better prospect.

Review of Queen of Hearts
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers Series
By Whitney Dineen

A Delightful Romp Through Royalty

Agnes, who is the commoner daughter of a brain surgeon and a stay-at-home mom, has been hired as the secretary to Prince Andrew, the future king of the (imaginary) European kingdom of Malquar. Agnes had a huge crush on Andrew when she was younger; however, after working for him over the past month, that crush has wound its way mostly out of her system. She is a calm, professional woman and takes all of Andrew’s antics and rhetoric in stride – until the day she doesn’t.

Andrew, for his part, is attracted to Agnes, but maintains quite emphatically that he can’t marry a commoner (you’ll find out why as you get further into the book). He never exceeds three dates with a woman from the aristocracy and he’s managed to date most of the single women. He hasn’t found anyone who interests him enough to go on a fourth date, except perhaps Agnes; and of course, he can’t date Agnes. Or can he?

This book was so much fun to read. I loved the sparks that flew between Andrew and Agnes. There were several passages that really tickled my funny bone, including Agnes’ thoughts, “I want to have lunch with Drew and his mother as much as I want to wrestle a baboon in the wild.” Another was Prince Andrew’s thought, “I would rather be water-boarded than sitting here at the same table with Agnes and Chantelle.”

If you would like to read a great rom-com, then this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.

My Rating: 5 Stars.

Not quite a rom-com, but way more fun than a regular romantic drama. Each character in this story is fantastic and endearing.
Agnes is an intelligent, determined young woman with a plan. She is currently the secretary for the crown prince, but knows that this is just her first step. She's going to open her own employment agency and this job will go far in securing a loan to get started. She's great at her job, and despite having had a crush on the prince as a young girl, she's exceptionally professional. For some reason he still seems to dislike her.
Andrew is the crown prince. While his siblings are able to enjoy the fun and excitement that comes with royalty, he is focused on the day to day responsibilities that come with being next in line. He's terribly attracted to his secretary, but he won't act on it because he knows he is expected to be with a woman of a certain status, not a commoner. Except he does act on it. He acts like a kindergarten boy with his first crush. Soon he'll be pulling her hair.
The Queen is wonderful. She herself was a commoner and is somewhat bothered by her son's refusal to consider being with someone outside of the expected social circle. So she sets about to change his mind. She's sneaky, sassy, and obviously deviously brilliant.
This book was a lot of fun to read, it was heartwarming and funny, occasionally a little heartbreaking too. It is absolutely worth the time to read, and probably more than once.

I have been hooked on this series since the first book. Just so you know, “Queen of Hearts” is labeled Book 7 in the series. Interestingly enough, there are some sub stories along the way that make all this come together perfectly. And of course, when Whitney Dineen puts her spin on a story, all I can say is, you are going to be hooked just like me.

To say that Agnes and Andrew never knew what was about to hit them would be an understatement. He may be the prince and the future King, but he is still a man looking for what all men look for; that person that matches him in all manners and loves him as he loves them. Agnes may be hiding things from her past that may just surprise everyone.

There are a lot of moving parts to this story. If you have been following along since the beginning, you know the parts I speak of. I also need to let you know that EVERY one of those parts will have you laughing, shaking your head and cheering them on in their own quest for love.

If you want a story that will have you cheering on strong women who love their men but don’t take much crap from them, this might be that story you need to read. If you want to see how special family can really be, this might be that story you need to read. And if you want to enjoy a different type of romance that keeps you in wonder until the end, this is definitely one you wanna read.

Whitney Dineen, you have done it again! Great job lady.

Prince Andrew of the Kingdom of Malaquar is heir to his Kingdom and feels he needs to live up to all those expectations whitch mean no scandal no falling for his secretary Agnes he must do as his father the King didn't marry someone of good stock someone of his world in other words a complete bore and a huge snob check he's already tried that but he just can't make it past the 3rd date. And Andrew's secretary is messing with his iron will he has to get her to quit even if he has to become the worst boss ever. Agnes just needs to put up with his Royal pain in the butness for a little bit longer and then she can quit and open her own business and be done with it all and to think she had a huge crush on her pompous boss when she was younger. Everything is going just perfect until one bad comment about his clothing then there was the whole head incident which lead to the Loo incident and now she's practically a prisoner in the Royal Palace all because her pompous boss is trying to avoid the scandle of him being involved with her enter his obnoxious rude fake royal girlfriend with and eye on becoming his princess some busy body mothers and you have the makings of a Romantic Comedy were Cinderella dosen't need rescuing she just needs him to stop being and idiot.

Love, love, love this series! I’ve been reading this series since the beginning and Dineen never disappoints.

Queen of Hearts brings us Andrew, the heir to the Malquar throne and Agnes, secretary to the Prince and his family. Agnes is thrown into her new secretarial position at the suggestion of the meddling Queen who is out to find matches for all her children. The Queen sees royal possibilities in Agnes and tries her hardest to put Andrew and Agnes in each other’s path. Andrew is stuck behind archaic views of who his future queen should be, so at every turn he’s fighting the romantic pull between him and Agnes. While Agnes is hurt by the thought of not being enough, she needs to decide if she should shoot her shot and put her heart out there so she can either move forward in love or move on. Andrew has to realize that the possibility of love is worth more than the social standings of his future wife. Agnes and Andrew have some internal conflicts as well as some social conflicts to overcome but they eventually find their hearts desire.

Dineen did a wonderful job bringing us the 6th book in the Seven Brides for Seven Mother’s series. I’m so sad that we’re only one book away from the end. Agnes and Andrew were another wonderful couple in the series that I was really happy to see early on in previous books. While I felt like there was much less of a royal sibling presence in this book, I really enjoyed the friendship between the Queen and her friends as well as seeing Agnes’ parents relationship. I found this book was really sweet, fun and romantic. A great read and a definite recommendation!

This is the sixth installment of the delightfully fun Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series. I have really been loving this series and this latest addition also did not disappoint. As always, Ms. Dineen's writing style is captivating and pulled me into the story from the start. Queen Charlotte is at it again, this time trying to play matchmaker for her son, Drew. She has the perfect candidate - Agnes who is her daughter's secretary. Drew and Agnes hit it off right away when she is assigned as his new secretary. Drew wants a love match, but knows he will need to marry a lady with a title one day and things could never work out between him and Agnes. He tries to fight his attraction and in doing so comes off as rude and dismissive and Agnes is at a loss, not understanding what she is doing wrong. Will Drew realize that what he could have with Agnes is far more precious than social standings?
This was another charming addition to the series and I had such a fun time reading it. I would definitely recommend reading this as well as the entire series.

4.7⭐️ Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt

I liked and disliked this book at the same time. The story was fantastic. I laughed, cried and was so frustrated. I really liked having multiple POVs so we knew what was going on in the side character’s mind as well. I loved that Agnes was a strong female character who stood up for herself and didn’t take crap from anybody, even the future king. What I didn’t like about it was that the MCs were so stubborn and didn’t even want to admit to themselves that they had feelings for one another. It frustrated me to no end. Prince Andrew tried to deny how he felt and was mean to her to push her away, but the feelings kept grown. Other than that, I truly enjoyed it. There weren’t tons of editing errors that distracted me, which I always appreciate. It was not spicy at all. Only mentions of “tingly feelings” and some kissing. Nice HEA at the end, with a little hint setting up the next story in the series. Then after the Epilogue, there is a sneak peek with the blur the next story to come out.

The crown prince is a muddled mess!🤴

This was a light, easy read, featuring Prince Andrew, a 36 year-old crown prince who's been indoctrinated by his grandfather to eschew any thought of marriage to a commoner, and Agnes, Andrew's beautiful and smart new secretary. They are surrounded by people who see no harm in interfering whenever possible in their love lives.

Andrew was a bit too conflicted for my taste. Will he, won't he do what he desires instead of what he thinks is required of his position? Agnes has plenty of spirit and doesn't take Andrew's behavior lying down. The romance was there but it was not a sizzler.

Agnes's mother Amelia has no time to meddle because she's got her own relationship issues with Agnes's brain surgeon father. I liked the extra storyline for Agnes's parents and, as typical in this series, Queen Charlotte's scheming features prominently and drives most of the plot.

While the story had humorous and sweetly romantic moments, I didn't find this romance as compelling as the other books in this series about matchmaking mothers. Overall, it's enjoyable with a really lovely ending.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Oh my gosh. Andrew and Agnes led me on a merry chase. I absolutely despaired over these two ever getting the Happy Ever After they so desperately deserved. Agnes was fantastic. She’s fierce, feisty, and one hundred percent convinced of her worth. (Something more of us should be.) Drew, on the other hand, made me want to reach through the pages and smack some sense into him. He makes some questionable choices that have him acting in particularly cruel ways. During those times that he was acting like a prime jerk, I was quietly cheering for Agnes to find someone else that would value her as the amazing individual she truly is. But then Drew would get down off his high horse and act like a compassionate human being again, and it made perfect sense how Agnes could love him so much. I hate that we’re nearing the end of the series, but I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Queen of Hearts is the sixth book from the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series by Whitney Dineen.
Queen Charlotte has a knack for interfering in her children's lives, especially when she thinks it's time for them to get married and give her grandchildren. Prince Andrew, the eldest son at age thirty-five, still has not found the woman of his grandfather's dream. An aristocratic with the same upbringing as him, the problem is that all the women in his peerage are boring and dull. His mother, Queen Charlotte, believes to have found the perfect person for her son, and her name is Agnes Dupuis.

I read this story in one day; it flowed seamlessly and was entertaining from the first page until the last. The banter between Prince Andrew and Agnes is brilliant. Whitney Dineen is my go-to author for romantic comedies.

Meddling Moms and Royal Shenanigans in the Palace make Great Reading

This book was so much fun to read, well written, and fast paced I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting - often while laughing out loud. It is told from several points of view so you do have to pay a bit of attention to the chapter headings but that makes the story more interesting as the reader is privy to all of the behind the scenes matchmaking machinations. It took me a while to warm up to Prince Andrew's formal stuffy self, but I was cheering for Agnes from the beginning. And the three moms (including the Queen) were hilarious. This book is part of a series, and can definitely be read as a standalone, but the characters are all wonderful and some do repeat. The series is available in KU if you have it and they are ALL fabulous if you have a chance to read them. Highly Recommend!

Andrew maybe be a Prince but he is anything but charming to Agnes. He tries everything to make her quit so he won’t have to deal with the way he feels for her. Not knowing that there are others doing the complete opposite and pushing them together. As Agnes and Andrew struggle to keep their relationship strictly professional words are said and feelings get hurt. With the help of family and friends we see them overcome misunderstandings and a not so nice conspirator. What a wonderful and charming romance that gives you a happily ever after fit for a King or should I say Queen.
This is a great series and you get much more if you read them all but you can read each one as a standalone. Cannot wait for Princess Sophie’s story.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion.

Remember back many years ago when you read all kinds of Harlequin books. They were inexpensive and the plot was always salisfying. Then we grew out of harlequin, and started reading real life, books, with an intriguing plot, sex, and an up-to-date plot. I think I don't really miss the small harlequinns now that the I think about the length.

Anyway, the Queen of Hearts reminds me of a Harlequinn romance. The King and Queen of Malquar are anxious to marry off their oldest son and heir before he has to take over the crown, he, on the other hand refuses all attempts to find him a wife. The Queen and her friend decide on the daughter of a joint friend. Hilarity ensues, and maybe love, and a fight at a fancy ball as the mothers' give it all they have.

I guess most girls (from my generation) always dreamed of marrying a prince. So a royal romance is the ultimate romance to me.
I have read quite a few Whitney Dineen novels (but none of the series) and I must admit this one is not one of my favorites.

And it is not because it's exhausting to see Andrew play it hot and cold all along (which it is!)

I wanted so badly the happy ending that I kept reading. Thank God for the Filly subplot that showed Andrew's good side (he's not a really likable character otherwise).

The problem with this book according to me is the ending, and particularly its unbelievability. I wish it was different.

However, I liked Sophie and I am looking forward to reading her story.

Who will Prince Andrew marry?

"...Not everyone can say their daughter is working for the future king...." Amelia Dupuis can saw that!

Agnes Dupuis works for Prince Andrew. "... Prince Andrew of Malquar is a conundrum to the European community. He is of an age where his parents are surely expecting him to wed (36!), and there is a plethora of young and not-so-young ladies alike that would love to be his wife... "

Agnes doesn't care who he is, she doesn't want to marry somebody who is so nasty to her. Why is he so nasty to her? Is this just a plant, or does he have a good reason for it?

The laughs flow with this multi-person narration in this entertaining tale! At the end of the book you will have the answer to who will Princel Andrew marry?.

Another story where the Queen is working at finding someone for her son the Prince. The problem though Prince Andrew is a jerk most of the time to his new secretary. Angus Dupuis has the plan to work for the Royal family and then open her own family. What she does not want to put up with is the person, the man who at one time she thought she had a crush on, he has destroyed that with his attitude and words towards her. The good thing about her is that she does not let him get away with anything and gives back as good as she gets even better, to the point where he looks like the one who is picking on her, especially to his friend who is dealing with her husband who has cancer. I found this book to be one of the best ones by this author that I have read and I really liked the characters also. Very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com

Normally I'm a sucker for royal romances in fake realms. But THIS one...
Agnes is a very efficent secretary who happens to be gorgeous. Andrew is the Heir Apparent to the Kingdom of Malaquar. He is lusting after Agnes for the entirety of the novel. But he thinks he can't pursue her because she's not an aristocrat. And he's such an ass about it! He literally imprisons Agnes in the Palace and only lets her out for air after 10 pm. He kisses her (passionately!) 2 or 3 times, but always says, "I can't marry you because you're not an aristocrat!" However, I had to keep reading to see if he ever got over himself. He did...in Chapter 53! Second to last chapter in the book! Honestly, I was so frustrated, I almost hoped Agnes WOULDN'T end up with him! But, very readable!

This story is another edition in the Seven Brides for Seven Mother's series. As usual Ms Dineen had me laughing out loud many times. Here are some examples of her wit:
1) Agnes thinking about Prince Andrew, "I could have redirected all that teenage pining and angst and learned six new languages. Minimum."
2) Prince Andrew wondering what his valet and secretary are up to, 'Good God, have Finley and Agnes begun to brawl?"
3) Prince Andrew talking to Agnes about his valet getting her belongings, "Not likely," she practically spits. "I'll get my own things. I don't want some stranger rifling through my drawers." I'd like to rifle through her drawers.
If you're looking for an easy to read, humourous, cozy romance, this book is for you.
I'm anxiously awaiting Princess Sophie's story.

I was a big fan of this one. I couldn't get into it, and I kept putting down and coming back to it. I didn't like the several different POVs for the story. There was the MC, and then the MC's moms. I just want to read the MCs stories, not what their parents want. Also, Andrew was a jerk, and was constantly hot and cold with Agnes. His mixed signals were tiring, and I eventually skimmed just to see how it ends. He doesn't stop with them until almost the end of the book. I like to see a little more growth in my MCs so that they get at least some time together in the story. This was a first for me from this author. Although I wasn't a fan of this one, I would give her another read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
