Every guy knows the bro code. Thou shalt not covet thy best friend’s sister. It’s in the best friend bible.

But I’m the worst sort of sinner because when my best friend’s sister moves in next door, I want to break every code ever written. I try to keep my distance from her, but it’s easier said than done when her rambunctious little puppy takes a liking to me and keeps throwing us together.

She’s off limits, so I have to keep my paws off.

When it comes to love, everybody has hard limits. Lines that can't be crossed. Boxes that must be ticked. For the heroes and heroines in this series, there's just one limit, line, and box: "Love me, love my dog." (or dogs!)

Great story. Mia and Stone are terrific and I loved how Trixi brought them together. Jeremy was a jerk though and for him to have such a poor opinion of Mia was annoying, but I get that he had to be this way for the character (so really good job writing him so he was annoying). Plenty of sweetness and steam.

Paws off, Bro!

Trixie the Pomeranian, doesn’t get the memo when she meets Stone, her human’s older brother’s best friend. It’s instant love for Trixie and Mia, her human, isn’t far behind.

Stone quickly falls for both of these ladies, so what’s the problem? Jeremy, Mia’s OTT protective, older brother. There is no other way to say it. He’s a c$&k blocker.

I found this story to be sweet and endearing. Jeremy took his older brother responsibilities a little too seriously and at times Stone annoyingly followed suit.
But Mia takes a stand, and in the end, gets her man on her terms.

Trixie adds to the sweetness factor and is quite proud of herself for bringing Mia and Stone together and then back together in very dramatic, Trixie fashion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. I received a complimentary copy of this book and I borrowed a copy. This is my honest review.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Stone meets Mia when he moves to California. He has nothing left in New York after his parents passed in a car accident. So his friend, Jeremy tells him to move closer to him. Stone moves right next door to Jeremy’s sister Mia, but they don’t know it until Jeremy introduces them to each other. Mia’s pup Trixie takes a liking to Stone and is always darting off in his direction. When Stone first moves in Mia has to stop Trixie from darting over to him as he moves his boxes in. When Jeremy introduces them, they tell him they live next door to each other. Stone tells Jeremy he’ll watch over this sister. When Jeremy finds out Mia wants to go to school he thinks it’s just something else she is going to flake out on and get upset with her. But Mia is passionate about design school and leaves crying. Stone tells him to give her time, but then Stone gots to check on Mia after Jeremy leaves. When Stone tells her she can’t go to the beach in a tiny bikini that he wants her as his, she tells him she wants him too. Stone takes Mia’s virginity and he tells her he’s felt this way since they first met. She tells him she’s wanted him since Trixie made her way to him that first day also. While spending time together they’re walking along the beach and Jeremy comes alone and Stone instantly pulls away from Mia. She knows he’s made his decision and he doesn’t want her. So she heads off back him and tells Stone to go out with her brother, Jeremy. Stone waits outside on his porch for any movement from Mia, he calls, text and knocks on her door but she won’t answer him. Finally when she opens the door Trixie darts out and into the road. Stone runs after her and cars swerve but he saves himself and Trixie. Mia runs to make sure they are alright and Stone kisses Mia after her finding out he’s alright. Jeremy comes upon them and he finds out they are both in love with each other. Jeremy tells them both he is happy for them and knows his sister is safe with him. Four Years Later, Mia has finished design school and is building a career. Soon after she received her diploma Stone throw out her birth control and got her pregnant with a girl. Now Mia is designing clothes for her daughter.

This is one of the sweetest, quirkiest novellas I've read in a long time. Stone and Jeremy are best friends from college, but now live on opposite coasts. There's nothing keeping Stone in New York, so he picks up and moves to be closer to Jeremy in California. He realizes he's living right next door to the most beautiful girl in the world when she comes running across the yard chasing after her puppy. Mia has lived under the control of her brother and because she's younger than he is, he doesn't think she's capable of making decisions or doing things for herself. Big brothers! With Stone and Mia, it's a definite case of lust at first sight, but it seems that there's a possibility of so much more. But things get complicated when Stone goes over to Jeremy's home for dinner and who should be there but Mia. How did he not put two and two together when he knew Jeremy had a little sister named Mia and voila! What do they do since Jeremy has threatened anybody who puts his hands on Mia and she and Stone have done a lot more than that. Stone makes a quick decision and hurts Mia by his actions. The story is so cute, so sensual and the perfect length to create characters with enough substance for us to feel what they feel and see what they see. I loved it! Erika Annette does a tremendous job with the narration. I like being able to tell all male and female characters apart and she succeeded with that. Her cadence and intonation gave each of the characters a unique personality.

Forever by MeemsAngel82

You had me at the first! I absolutely loved each character involved and that included a cute puppy. The writing was sweet, like sunshine and happiness. This was one of those yummy meant to be stories and I do so love me a little sister story. The plot and writing is as always happiness and yummy times.

He'd lost his family and moved closer to his friend. He wanted a family of his own, to find the right woman, the love of his life. Little did he know what was in store for him...

I love this author's books. I personally want happiness and love, loyalty in my books. Hot scenes, but with sweetness and no cheating. This was perfect. Two people who truly are good, kind people who meet and feel that warm fuzzy feeling for the other. And a dog. It was already amazing, but then comes in a dog as well. Having our H interact with her dog like that tells you what kind of a man he is. I love the writing style, easy and enjoyable. A lot of cute, funny, hot moments, amazing character chemistry. These two, like all her couples, really belong together and their stories are always warm and happy. I just love knowing I won't have to worry about negatives in her books. Another hit and looking forward to more!

Sometimes going with your initial impression is best.

I really liked this instalove story. It was entertaining and enjoyable although at times it was frustrating. The characters were interesting and likable. Mia frustrated me with her back and forth. Jeremy was a great brother and a good friend. Stone moved to be closer to his best friend. While he was moving into his new place, he met his new neighbor Mia and her puppy. Stone was positive that Mia was meant to be his. Mia wasn’t sure how Stone felt about her but she knew she was definitely attracted to him. Things became complicated soon after which caused some drama and angst. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Listening to the audiobook was a pleasant experience. The narrator/reader did a nice job. She didn’t differentiate her voice between the characters (that I noticed). I recommend listening to this audiobook.

You usually hear "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" and "Dog's are a man's best friend"...but for me personally, I'd take my fur brother over a piece of jewelry anyday.

Sunny CA is the setting for this story. Stone is moving to CA to be near his best friend, Jeremy (who Stone considers to be family) and meets his new neighbor, Mia (who happens to be Jeremy's little sister) and her dog, Trixie, who took a likely to Stone admittedly. Jeremy is protective big brother to the core, recruits Stone to watch over Mia, neighbors get to know each other and after a really scary situation involving Trixie...the truth is finally revealed.

What happens between Stone and Mia? What scary situation brings the truth out and how will Jeremy react? You'll have to read to find out. It's a wonderful quick read love story.

Stone moves from New York City to California to be near his best friend from college Jeremy. Mia lives next door to Stone with her dog Trixie. Trixie runs out of the house and straight to Stone. There is an instant connection between Stone and Mia. She is only 19 and not good at flirting and unsure if Stone is flirting with her or just being nice. She goes to her brother’s house to meet his best friend. Stone goes to Jeremy’s house for dinner.

Both are surprised because Mia is Jeremy’s sister.

Will Mia and Stone be able to just be neighbors? What will Jeremy say if he finds out his best friend and sister have feelings for each other?.

This book is a part of the Love At First Bark series and focuses on Stone and Mia. Stone has been on his own since his parents died and decides to move closer to his best friend Jeremy. While he is moving into his new house, he is shocked to finally find the woman meant for him. As soon as he saw Mia for the first time, he immediately knew that she was the one for him. Mia had the same instant connection with Stone but when they both discover that Stone’s best friend is also Mia’s overprotective brother. They try to fight their connection because of Jeremy until they can’t anymore. This was such a great story and an excellent addition to the series.

Paws Off is a fun fast best friend's sister read with the perfect amount of heat, passion and tension that grabs you in from the start.

Stone and Jeremy meet in college, when life took them on their paths, Stone decides to change his life and move to California to be near his friend. Mia is wanting to prove to her brother she is not a little kid, part of that is living on her own and deciding what she wants to do. When the new neighbor moves in even her dogs does not want to stay away.

Stone and Mia have an instant connection, that is hot and steamy, even though they try to avoid the connection the pulls is too strong, but what happens when Jeremy finds out?.

Stone moves to California from New York City to be closer to his best friend, Jeremy. On his first day, he meets Mia, his next door neighbor, and her dog, Trixie. He automatically knows he’s found his one. But what’s going to happen when he learns who Mia’s older, protective brother is? I won’t leave any spoilers but I will say I’ve enjoyed each of the books I’ve read in this series. If you’re looking for a quick read by various authors, you won’t be disappointed with these books. I bet you’ll love Trixie.

A quick meet cute best friend’s little sister romance

Stone, a tech company owner, understands the meaning of love at first sight when he sees Mia, his sexy next door neighbor, as he moves into his new California home. As the story progresses their first meeting is cut short, the second leaves them at a loss, and the next time could create more problems than normal. Emma Bray’s Paws Off is a quick meet cute best friend’s little sister romance with plenty of unintended innuendo and a mischievous little wing girl that doesn’t understand boundaries.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This is my first book by Ms. Bray, but she's a wonderful insta-love author!

Stone and Jeremy meet in college and become best friends. Stone's parent have passed away, but he stays on in the East Coast.

Jeremy's from the West Coast and finally talks Stone into coming out there.

Stone is moving into his new place and I'm not going to spoil the meet-cute lol Suffice it to say he meets Mia and the fire starts!

Little does Stone know that Jeremy is Mia's extremely overprotective older brother!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and definitely recommend it!.

Stone finds himself alone with no family holding him back in continuing to live in New York. He moves to California to be near his best friend. Lines get crossed when he is moving in and finds a small dog around his feet. Mia takes chase after her dog and she finds an instant attraction to Stone. The problem is that Stone's best friend is Mia's brother who wants Stone to watch out for Mia and keep men away. Stone's and Mia's feelings blossom and they know their relationship is in for the long haul. This is a short story and is one of the books in the "Love at First Bark" series that has other authors also contributing their short stories. Enjoy!

Stone moved cross country to be close to his best friend, Jeremy. As fate would have it, he moved in next door to Jeremy’s sister. From the first day, Stone wanted Mia. He already had Trixie under his spell. Now he wanted the one woman who was off-limits to be his wife. But would Jeremy agree?

The story may be short, but it’s an excellent piece of fiction by author, Emma Bray. May all brothers be protective of their sisters and grateful when she falls for his best friend.

Doggy matchmaker!!

Stone just moved to California to be closer to his bestfriend. He has been lonely since losing his parents. The day he moves in, a little dog comes rushing over to greet him. Then, the most beautiful woman he's ever seen comes over. Stone is love stuck. Mia runs after her dog and is greeted by the most handsome man she's ever seen. The problem....Mia is Stones bestfriends little sister!! Can Stone take the chance of losing he's only family? Can Mia take the chance of losing her brother? This was so cute, sweet, and definitely steamy!!

Stone and Mia story was just OK to me. I didn't really make a connection with it, not sure if it was the writing style or the characters personally. Stone is your typical guy next door while Mia comes off a little naive, which is understandable due to her age. And the fact that she was practically raised by her brother with no parental involvements. The chemistry between them is not the blazing, off charts type like your usual instalove story, but it came off real and genuine.

This was a quick, feel good read! First time author for me and I will be back for more!
I LOL’d, I swooned, and I cheered for Mia and Stone’s HEA!! Plus I was a little envious of how well Mia rocked that yellow polka dot bikini… ;)
Fave line: “And my goodness, the way he stroked his hand over Trixie from the top of her head to the tip of her tail. I've never been jealous of my puppy, but I was then. I give her a halfhearted glare. "You little slut," I tell her with envy, wishing it had been me those gigantic hands had stroked over.”

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a good addition to the Love At First Bark series. It is about finding love no matter how forbidden to some. Mia, her amazing dog Trixie and her over protective brother live in California. His close friend Stone is now moving there. Mia and Stone have an instant attraction that is undeniable. Their story is fast paced with humor, a little drama and a brother that needs to get on board.

Paws off is part of the Love at First Bark series and is the first book I’ve read by this author. This novella was such a great quick read. The characters were relatable and plot was good, just wished it was longer.

Stone has just moved to California from New York to be closer to his best friend from college Jeremy. Right when he moves in a cute little dog runs right up to him, and so does Trixie’s owner Mia who happens to be his new neighbor. Stone is immediately in love. Their attraction and chemistry is strong. That night, Stone goes to Jeremy’s to meet his little sister who is no other than Mia. Can these two be friends when their attraction is so strong? Or will they be able to get together? Will they be able to keep their secret from Jeremy?

Such a quick read. Full of humor, cute dogs, steam, chemistry and so much more. Can’t wait to read more from Emma.

I received this arc and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

From the moment Stone meets Mia he falls hopelessly in love with her. When he finds out she’s his best friend’s little sister things become become difficult as he doesn’t want to lose the only ‘family’ he has left. This was a fast paced read. Stone and Mia are alike in that they are both looking for a family. Mia is hard working and has finally decide she wants to follow her passion for fashion no matter what anyone else thinks. This was a great addition to the series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love books which involve not only the humans but their pets too, especially dogs, I can't tell you how many friends I've made just because of my dogs. This one falls firmly into the brother’s best friend category as well as the instalove trope. Stone is Mia’s brother's best friend, Mia is younger and a little on the naive side. But that doesn't stop them from wanting each other, Stone has to try and balance his concern for his friendship with his feelings for Mia, will her brother come round?

An insta best friends sister’s love story that I received as an arc via booksprout. I enjoyed Stones and Mias and of course Trixies first meeting, love at first sight for all three of them. Sweet, some steam and a little bit of drama as Stones best friend is Mias brother and of course no one wants to rock that boat!but the heart wants what the heart wants. A sweet hea story that I pleasantly enjoyed.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Stone and Mia and does not let go. When Stone moves in next door to Mia, they have an instant connection. However, when he realizes that she is the sister of his best friend, he knows he must stay away from her. Will they be able to deny their feelings for each other or will they take a chance at happiness?

This was a cute story with the instalove aspect happening on both sides - his and hers. Stone and Mia have one obstacle, his best friend and her older brother Jeremy.

I love Emma Bray for her fast moving instalove stories. They're the perfect "palate cleanser" between the more angsty books I usually read. The writing is good and she does know her stuff with the steamy scenes.

Lots of fun, quick easy read.
