They’re not-quite enemies. They’re not-really friends. They’re definitely not lovers.
But they’re absolutely going to be one of those things when this is over.
He really doesn’t want to want this woman.
Or her otters.
And no, “otters” is not a euphemism.
She has otters. And she wants him to take care of them. And he's going to say yes.
Is that going to get him laid?
Probably.
Is that a good idea?
Definitely not.
Is he going to do it anyway?
Absolutely yes.
And he isn’t at all surprised to find that’s just the start of all the chaos…
Previously seen in the Christmas Anthology Small Town Christmas (as The Most Otterful Time of the Year) and at the end of Say It Like You Mane it, Otterly Into You is the prequel to the full-length, HEA, romance novel Kiss My Giraffe!
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over sixty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
This was really cute. While it was short, it still managed to tell me enough about the characters to like them…saying that though, these two do have a full novel about them that I shan’t be reading as much as it temps me. This will be enough.
It was cute, I just expected more. I wanted more of the actual baby otters? Not just her dropping them off and them making out lol. I know it was a prequel but usually the prequels I read have more of a plot, more substance. It felt unfinished and I think that’s because the author is banking on me reading the next one but I’m not doing that haha
This one was cute, Fiona and Knox verbally sparring with each other, their usual. I was surprised with what Fiona left with Knox and that he actually took them.
If you ask me what characters story I want to read about the most in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series, Knox and Fiona are it! So, grab Otterly Into You to catch a glimpse of all the goodness that is in store for these two because this is just a teaser to the crazy chemistry flowing between and this novella is definitely going to light the pages of your book on fire!
This little novella was a fun and quick read. What a great way to introduce us all to Knox and Fiona's story, Kiss My Giraffe! I loved the chemistry between the couple, and the story, though short, was paced well. The characters are interesting and believable, and their attraction is off the charts!
It's cute. This short story freebie is a grumpy/sunshine pairing between Knox (city manager of Autre, LA) and Fiona (animal rescuer/activist). Fiona wants Knox to take care of some baby otters before she leaves town, and it's clearly because she's the type of person to ask this sort of thing of people, but also because she wants a reason to come back to Knox. The two have a lot of built up tension that this short narrative does a good job catching the reader up on - I've not read any of this series before, but you can tell this is The Moment when two people who've been flirting finally actually do something about it.
And that's fun to read, but overall the love story seems to be a very typical "big brawny protective dominant dude with small and feisty female" dynamic and I'm just like, yawn? So I'll probably not go on to read the full story between Knox and Fiona. But straight readers who like a quirky Southern vibe + animals with their romance will probably enjoy this story and the book that follows it.
This short story is the prequel to a novel called Kiss My Giraffe (never heard of it). The cover made me laugh, and I thought a story about otters would be a hilarious palette cleanser between two ARCs I’ve been reading. Umm…. No. There are no otters in this story! Well, okay technically there are otters. But they’re baby otters that barely get mentioned & never come out of their transport cage/box.
Instead the story switches back & forth between the MMC & the FMC, both of whom are hot to trot for the other but don’t wanna admit it.
The book details a makeout session, which had me, the non-romance reader, wondering if this what y'all call spice?
If you like this genre, then maybe you’ll enjoy this little story. But it feels like I fell for clickbait promising some fun otter hijinks and instead getting a man who went on & on about how this girl makes his pants tight 🙄
At 49 pages and just 4 chapters, Otterly Into You is basically an extended teaser for the forthcoming Kiss My Giraffe! Both are set in the world of the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series in Autre, Louisiana. We've previously met and observed the main protagonists of this story, Knox and Fiona, in prior books of the series. In fact, watching them spar and flirt has been a brief highlight of each story. But here we get a concentrated amount of both spicy and sweet. Plus, we get to experience them alone together (something that seldom ever occurs in the setting of these stories), and we see them make a small advancement in their overall relationship. It's very fun and delightful. About the only thing to complain about here is that there isn't more of it!

"Okay, then what is it that you need to know about me before I leave?" "I need to know how you taste." She swallowed hard. “Well, I…”“Fi,” he interrupted before she had to come up with something witty and flirty. “Yeah?”“Come here.” "Kiss me." The command was simple and gruff. "I wasn't done."
“Yep. Exactly what I thought.”“What?” she asked, breathlessly. “You taste delicious.” He pulled back, pinning her with his gaze. “I want to eat you right up.”
“And Fi?” he called as she was pulling the door shut. “Yeah?”“Wear some panties with shamrocks on them next time. It’ll remind me we have some talkin’ to do when I see those on my bedroom floor in the morning.”
“No interest in mistletoe if you’re not under it.”

I've been waiting for Knox and Fiona's book and this prequel has made me want it more. From the beginning, Autre's City Manager, F. Knox, and Fiona have sparred over her bringing endangered animals to Boys of the Bayou and how much more work he has to do because of that. But there is an underlying attraction for them. Now he's charged with keeping some abandoned baby otters alive until she comes back and hopefully, they can continue to explore their attraction to each other and maybe we can find out what Knox's first name is. Erin Nicholas writes wonderful books with humor and love. I'm really looking forward to their whole story.
Otterly Into You is the prequel for Knox and Fiona's story and after finishing this short story I am excited for their book. From the beginning, Autre's City Manager, F. Knox, and Fiona have disagreed over her bringing endangered animals to Boys of the Bayou and how much more work he has to do because of that. There is definitely a magnetic attraction between them. Now he's charged with keeping some abandoned baby otters alive until she comes back and hopefully, they can continue to explore their attraction to each other and maybe we can find out what Knox's first name is. You definitely do not want to miss reading their prequel Otterly Into You and book, Kiss My Giraffe.
I thought this was a cute little read but then it ended too soon. I had to wait for the full book to come out and when I did, I realized this is basically the first few chapters of the book... So if you read book #7 for Knox and Fiona, you can mark this as read too. There really isn't anything new introduced here. Sigh. That's annoying so I am giving it one star. But I will rate Knox and Fiona 5 stars because I enjoyed their full length book. So take my annoyed one star rating with a grain of salt if you want - I just felt like I wasted my time reading this when it was in the book. And I don't like wasting time. 🤷🏼♀️
What a great way to introduce readers to Knox and Fiona. They are incredibly likeable, interesting, and attractive characters. I found them refreshing and original.
This story was, clearly, set up to draw you into the heated story of these two protagonists. Just as they are magnetized to each other, you're pulled into the tale. After tantalizing tidbits, the author asks if you want more - of course you do!
What an enchanting quick read. I recommend it - it will do its job to hook you into the full HEA that comes next!
This recounts a scene when Fiona, a frequent visitor to Autre, LA asks Knox, City Planner for Autre, for a favor in exchange for a future sexual encounter. Since this is a prequel/teaser for a new book, Kiss My Giraffe, as long as you understand that, it’s an enjoyable read. We get enough of the fullness of who the characters will be and some of their backgrounds as well as the potential for an HEA and angst that I am super excited to read their whole book.
Erin Nicholas is such a tease in the prequel to her next book Kiss my Giraffe. Fiona and Knox have been heating up in past books in the series and now we are finally going to get their story--their teasing, their kisses and their heat! In Otterly into You, Fiona and Knox whet their appetites for each other in some steamy kisses right before she walks out the door to go on a trip. Wait! What? How can they do that to us??? I'm so looking forward to their book!
I was gifted a copy by the author. All thoughts are my own.
Ever since the series "Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild" started we've seen the bickering, fighting and sexual tension between our animal saving Fiona, and our everything by the book Knox. Knowing that "their" book is last in the series, this little novella is the perfect starting point. Told from both of their points of view, you get to see the sexual tension up close and personal. They are definitely going to steam up some kindles when "Kiss My Giraffe" comes out. Until then this story is the perfect, steamy appetizer.
I saw Otterly Into You reviewed on Julie Northup’s blog. I liked what I read, so I downloaded it. Good call.
I really enjoyed this very short story. It told of the building romance between Knox and Fiona, told mainly from his point of view, although later it switched briefly to Fiona. This cute play on words title, is there because Knox is looking after her otters. Of course there is more to it than that.
If you have read the full book, I would imagine this short prequel will delight you. If you haven’t, you’ll still love it. It’s fun, and a good way to pass an hour of relaxation
Oh boy! What a fantastic prequel for Kiss My Giraffe. Knox & Fiona, made each page sizzle with their sexual tension. Knox, a grumpy nerd, is so stressed out by all the new animals Fiona has brought to Autre. And having to deal with all the residents complains. Fiona, an animal activist, lives her life as she pleases. Animals come first. Can Knox & Fiona, denine their attraction any longer. Can't wait to read their story!!
This fun little story gives you a tempting taste of Fiona, Knox and all things Autre, Louisiana. So that means you can expect boatloads of small-town charm, zany family antics, super cute animals, laugh out loud humor, heart melting moments, an abundance of feels and some sultry heat. This series never fails to put a smile on my face and some much needed lightness to my heart. As I said, it is just a taste but a very tempting and delectable one that you sure don't want to miss out on!
I just love a slow burn when two people you know are totally perfect for each other but dance around the inevitable. We've been getting to know a little about Knox and Fiona for quite a while now and that has been what is happening. We get a taste of what's to come and what can hopefully be in this awesome short story. Kiss My Giraffe will be out in May and give us their whole story. I can't wait!!!
Knox, the city manager, and Fiona, the animal rescuer, get hot and heavy a couple of days before Christmas. Fiona needs a favor and Knox usually ends up hurt while doing a favor. She’s come to leave three baby otters for Knox to take care of. They start making out but Knox puts the brakes on and stops for anything happens. Knox says it’s to make sure she comes back.
A short novella with flirting and making out. It’s a prequel to KISS MY GIRAFFE.
There is no place for chaos in Knox's perfectly ordered, calm and grumpy life and Fiona is surrounded by chaos...permanently! Fiona may not be what Knox wants to want but the fierce and feisty spitfire that has an attitude bigger than she is, is exactly what he needs! This steamy, sexy, flirty prequel to tomorrows release 'Kiss My Giraffe' is otterly adorable! This is a free download.
This was written to make you look forward to Fiona and Knox' s book - Kiss my Giraffe. Erin Nicholas is a talented author who writes fun ,clever ,sexy books with very interesting and likeable characters who live in unusual towns and cities. She doesn't only expand on the two main characters personalities but also writes several other characters more well rounded making them likeable enough that you want then to have their own stories.
Oh my gosh I can't wait to read Fiona and Knox's story!! Both of them are sure to have an interesting back story and Nicholas has been slowly teasing us and sharing nuggets throughout her Autre books. She provides just enough information to pique my interest and not enough to make me wait another month to read it! ;)
I have loved all of the women in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series because they each have big personalities and aren't docile or flippy-floppy, but Fiona is so much fun! I love how spunky and different she is and the chaos she brings to the Landry's! Knox is just the guy for her, too and I can't wait to experience the journey these two will take to their HEA!
