Morrigan has one heir left to bond with, and she’ll have everything she wants.
But what if what she wanted wasn’t what she was destined to get?
Left broken from the bomb blast at King’s College, Morrigan needs protection now more than she ever has. The heirs surround her, helping her deal with the aftermath of the bombing, but their fathers aren’t happy.
Three of the kings want Morrigan out of the way by killing her or making her disappear, but Morrigan has more people on her side than just the heirs and Valentin Stirling.
The elders will do whatever they need to ensure she survives, and Avery of the Fae has been hiding a secret for hundreds of years that will change the shape of Morrigan’s fate.
But he isn’t the only Fae to take an interest in Morrigan. Not only that, but the Primes are starting to make their moves, including Morrigan’s sire.
And one of the heirs is hiding a dark secret that could change everything for Morrigan and her bonded heirs.
Morrigan is left in the same place she was before the bombing at King’s College. Who can she trust, and will these new turn of events be her salvation or her undoing?
**Author Note: The Morrigan Starr series is designed for an older teen audience due to sexual content and darker themes that might be disturbing for younger readers. This is a why choose romance, and the main character will add mates as the stories progress.

3,5 stars actually This is such a complex story, i feel the slow burn which makes it feels a bit dragged out sometimes i would say. Poor Morrigan she has been a punching bag in the whole book, she aint getting no rest any day soon. Everyone is out for her. I do enjoy that it´s so thick, then i know it´s not gonna end that fast. There where a lot of things that was happening, secrets and questions that we got an answers to. Slowly everything is gonna come to the light, they all are caring so much pain. that eeending noo it leaves us with a cliffhanger
I love the confidence of Morrigan and her power. I wish she was a little older though. The one thing that bothers me is the repetition of them "hissing". I know they're vampires and all but it happens enough where it gets old.
I cannot believe I’m enjoying this as much as I am without being able to differentiate the characters.
That is my main and only complaint with this series. I do not know who is talking, who we’re referring to and who is who.
I know she has 8 or 9 mates but I can honestly tell you I only remember Leo who is the super smart one, Hunter who is part wolf, Talon who can mind speak and Avery/khavra the Fae and Valentin, the other ones are just a blur.
The plot really has me hooked and Im a sucker for this type of FMC so Im really enjoying this.
One thing I wasn’t a fan of, was the whole intervention of fate in the character’s life, for me it just lessens the importance of their decisions as if everything has just been foretold so Im not a fan of that.
Are Ruvyk and Ashen potential mates? Because omg that would be truly a little too much.
Tbh yes, the plot is being repetitive but Im also not hard to please and I like a lot of the same so Im having a great time.
There’s also the real part to this series that just unrealistic, the torture and childhood she had are in in direct contradiction with the supposed sex life she is going to have, the ridiculous amount of lies she tells and the forgiveness she gives also aren’t healthy nor logical.
Sooo, was I confused more times than not during this book? Yes. Are there things that obviously don’t add up? Obviously But Im I still enjoying it and will continue to read? Also yes
No, I'm sorry but this was such a waste. I loved the first book and honestly was so happy that this was out already. But all the things that Avery did were horrifying and she should not have ever been able to touch him. He basically planned her life to be a shit show so the plans that are meant to be can happen? Nope. And her having traumatizing sexual experiences at such a young age being great for the future he wants is also such a terrible thing to do to someone.
I'm also not a fan of how much lying she does. These are all her mates and she lies even if by omission. And from how the conversations are going, she's going to have to be mates with someone who physically and emotionally tortured her for 4 years??? Nope, that's a terrible plot. Why does she forgive everyone for being bad to her? She keeps saying she knows her worth but she let's everyone do what they want, she gets mad, then says sorry for being mad?? I'm seriously judging all these 5 and 4 stars.

Based on the plethora of flung about commas in this book, it's clear that an actual human proficient in English was not responsible. They are placed in locations that only some kind of autocorrect failure of a system would decide they are needed, and they are so incredibly numerous as to be both distracting and detracting.
Besides the commas (and other grammatical issues), there were inconsistencies that I just couldn't leave alone. In the first book, Morrigan's ability to produce massive amounts of blood was this big thing - she literally needed to be drained constantly to prevent herself from pulling a Violet Beauregarde. But somehow that seems to have just been cast aside here as if it's no longer an issue. Sure, she gets injured and bleeds, but very little attention is paid to her draining requirement other than the first bit where it's mentioned that they'll need to manually drain her since she's too injured to feed anyone without it jostling her.
Or how about the book that was supposedly spelled to stay within 3ft of her but somehow didn't show up in any of the places she was kidnapped to?
Are we just supposed to ignore these continuity errors?
This is the second book of the series and I still feel slightly lost in all the terminology, characters, and nuances of the world created in this story. Definitely better than the first book, but the plot is so thick in this one it's hard to grasp all the changes that are happening. I wish I had more time to actually meet and get to know the characters better but things move so fast in this plot that it's hard to get to know them and subsequently like the characters more.
The story itself is fantastic, which is what keeps me reading. There are so many secrets and things that are hinted that I'd like to find out more about. The author is definitely good at building drama and action. If it wasn't for me wanting to unravel the secrets in the series and understand better, I would've stopped reading this series a long time ago. I almost did a couple of tomes.
I'm not sure how to rate this one. On one hand I was interested enough to read the whole long book (with some light skimming since Morri repeats her thoughts often) . On the other hand there was some serious confusion going on. Part of that was so many characters. So many ancients, elders, kings, and if that isn't enough we switch from their last names to first names. Then there were 2 kings locked up until they weren't. They shouldn't be killed but it's ok to kill a 3rd king? I liked the premise of her 10 part heritage, hence 10 mates, but it sure was hard to follow everything. I've read reviews of the next book and I'm not sure I want to go there. I already felt most of the heirs were missing from this book (Edge, Harvey, Leo).

I do like this series. Book 2 moves kinda slow but stick with it. There are so many twists that you might feel some whip lash! What annoyed me: every response was with a grunt or growl, very repetitive. Same with "pulling down of the eyebrows" and messing up their hair. One thing that I feel is needed: at beginning of each book, a list of characters and who is related. For me, the minor characters get mixed up, and have a hard time keeping it all straight. BUT I am so invested in these characters after 2 books. I have to know what happens!! I'm hoping the storyline moves a little quicker in book 3.
Though the storyline was sometimes hard to keep up with, I really enjoyed this book. It was incredibly fast paced and sometimes a little confusing, but I liked the main characters and the intricate plot and world building. I look forward to reading the 3rd installment!
This series is worth the read. I love it when I find a story that keeps me on the edge of my seat. So many twists and turns, this story is NOT what you expect.
I cant put it down. It’s incredible how much has happened in a few days. Our poor MC truly needs a break. I’ll be continuing the series.
Sidenote: I don’t know how interested I’m in the whole Contest family. Because we get this whole premise of our MC the last Starr and now technically there is more ?? So idk and with such a high percentage so technically the Heir didn’t need our MC. Idk confused. Why didn’t they perish with all the other?

This was everything I needed and more. I can’t wait to find out what happens next! Wallace has created the most exciting, complex, interesting, and addictive world and characters. I’m constantly wanting to know more about everyone. Waiting for the next book is going to be hard. I will be left thinking about these characters until then!
