After saving a gorgeous punk werewolf girl, who both looks and sounds like the lead singer of a heavy metal band, Kai’s problems dramatically escalate when a threat – far greater than he would have ever imagined – comes knocking down at his door.
Or rather, at the door of the mansion belonging to his cute succubus girlfriend.
Will they be able to conquer the overwhelming threat? Or instead find themselves in need of aid from their enemies?
After all, the enemy of my enemy, is my friend…right?

I really liked all the previous books which makes this all the more disappointing. This one had a couple good moments but they seemed like a few pages. It felt like 1/3 of this books was describing the layout of the mansion. Any battles and tense moments ended supremely fast and were anticlimactic. But at the same time nothing happened. The story didn’t actually progress in any meaningful way. It felt like the story was flattened out to last longer and full of filler. And the fact that all 5 books have happened in such a short timeframe seems to really be hurting the series now. I’m stuck wondering how so much has happened so fast, but somehow next to nothing at all. Where the prior books felt like things were progressing and had “tense but fun drama” this book was just full of “drama”. And all of the new things learned in this book feel like throwaway information. And the last chapter felt so unnecessary. It made what seemed like a strong and rather cool nuanced character sound like a love sick teenager. I hope the next book redeems the series and we get something substantial to bite into.
A lot is happening in only a few days. (Only possible complaint is that maybe it's too much, since the are now five books, which cover less than five days.) But it's a fun romp, even with problems and bad guys trying to mess things up.
An incubus, an imp, a schoolgirl (and her mom), a succubus (and HER mom and great grand-mom) walk into a bar... Except there's really no bar... :-)
After reading this book I felt like I could've skipped the other 4 because so much of the information is constantly repeated. I get that this is written as 1st person but the constant monologue feels like a slog. The important events felt quick and like they wouldn't take up 1/4th of the book while the rest is repeating information and statements.
While I really find this series entertaining, I’m wondering how planned out the plot is. At the current pace, unless we get a time skip we will reach book 30 before Avery loses her virginity (if she waits until the end of their school year). Anyway, this was another good addition overall.
