In this PREQUEL to the Jade Pearson Mystery series, Jade happens to be in the bank when an armed bank robbery takes place. A man gets killed in front of her eyes. She notices something very peculiar about the robbers, particularly the one who looked like their leader.
Go on this exciting adventure with Jade as she picks up the clues and persues the leads to track down the bank robbers. Discover how this case brings her close to the Police officer who ends up being her good friend but not before brushing with danger and getting almost killed.
But will she be successful at catching the real mastermind behind all this?
Nora Kane writes fast-paced FBI thrillers and crime mysteries that keep readers turning pages late into the night. Her newest series, the Lindsay Lane FBI Thriller, begins with Not Quite the Enemy and continues with titles like Not Quite the Truth and Not Quite the Score. All of her books are available in Kindle Unlimited.
She’s also known for her long-running Margot Harris and Jade Pearson mystery series, as well as shorter trilogies. Across them all, you’ll find unexpected twists, high-stakes investigations, and heroines who never back down. If you enjoy thrillers that keep you guessing until the very last page, you’ll feel right at home in her stories.
A lifelong mystery fan inspired by Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie, Nora lives in Pennsylvania with her family. She starts her days with Bulletproof Coffee, winds down with a glass of Malbec, and finds new story ideas whenever she’s traveling or swapping tales with strangers.
She’s never met a bookstore she didn’t want to explore—or a plot twist she didn’t want to write.
Nice reading from Nora Kane, as were all other Jade Pearson (little) novels. Action, as expected, tough Jade, and drops of inspiration, as you'd expect from her. Not very illuminating, though about her life before she became private eye; actually, her licence was awarded here rather quick/unexpected :-))
This is a very short story, but I really enjoyed reading it. Full of action and some suspense, a young woman named Jade really takes matters into he own hands when she is witness to a bank robbery. The events that follow truly demonstrate what an independent and fearless woman Jade is. Since the story is so short, I won't tell any more about what happens, but as advertised, the story is a prequel to additional adventures for Jade to come. Sounds like more reading about Jade Pearson is called for.
Jade Pearson was in the right place at the wrong time! She was a witness to a bank robbery. She decides to solve the robbery herself. She sees a tattoo on one of the robbers and follows up on it tracing it to a billboard that advertised a night club. Things start moving along after that. I like the character of Jade Pearson who goes from civilian crime fighter to private investigator.
Jade Pearson gets mixed up in a bank robbery while she is trying to open a new bank account. She follows people and leads to discover who the bank robber and his accomplices are. The real cop detective teams up with Jade to solve the murder and bank robbery case. It's a pretty stupid story of two unlikely people working together the fight crime.
I received a complimentary electronic ARC of this teaser to a new series from the author Nora Kane. Thank you for sharing your hard work with me. I have read Coincidence of my own volition, and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. I am pleased to recommend Nora Kane to friends and family. She writes a tight mystery with personable characters.
Jade Pearson is finally through with college, leaving her parents' home and heading for Camden, Maine to look for a job and start her real adult life. She has already found a small apartment for her first new home and has the promise of a job at a local club as soon as she has a bank in Camden to send her pay to. Her plan is to work waiting tables evenings and set up her private investigation service on the side. But going into the bank is not turning out so well for Jade. She is caught right in the middle of a major hold-up. Literally. The bright side of that equation is she will have proof of her willingness to explore all avenues of investigation and hopefully develop a good reputation with the locals. If she lives through the experience. The bank manager didn't. Reviewed on September 23, 2023, at Goodreads, AmazonSmile, Barnes&Noble, BookBub, and Kobo.
A short prequel to Nora Kane's excellent Jade Pearson series, Coincidence is exactly what it says on the cover, as Jade happens to be in the right place at what turns out to be the right time for her to start her path to becoming a PI. A great coffee-break/bedtime read if you like strong female protagonists succeeding against the odds. Why wait... it's calling your name, so read it right now!
I enjoyed the book as it gave us background on Jade & her "pals." I didn't give it 5 stars as the procedures & rules were mostly unbelievable. I liked the fact that we got to know who the main characters in the series are & their backgrounds. If one wants a fun & fast paced story, this is it.
Things don't happen like this in real life. I love cozy mysteries but not when they're so overwhelmingly unrealistic. Seriously, who really acts like this and what police/detectives actually get help from civilians. Not to mention what you actually have to do to get a PI license. Not interested in the "box set"
Very improbable story-line. Jade withholds tattoo info from the police after a bank robbery, then goes to investigate it herself. A police detective tries to arrest someone with no back-up, then includes Jade in her investigation. This would never happen.
First time I have read anything from this author. This was short but kept me interested. Will be reading the next book to see what kind of trouble Jade will get herself into.
She's bullheaded and reckless - those are her good qualities. Except she's also extremely lucky and yes "Coincidence" is her best friend. No other way could she solve this crime. And there is no possible explanation for why the detective allows that level of participation.
An exciting start to a series . Jade is not prepared to take any nonsense from anyone, and gets into a dangerous situation right from the first page. Looking forward to reading more about her.
If You enjoy A Good Mystery, and short story. You should read this book. Peaks your interest from the very beginning. Good descriptions of characters. Good Author
