Defiant to the Death: A World War 3 Techno-Thriller Action Event

"Nick Ryan knows his craft, and his topic. His World War 3 stories are tightly-written, fast-moving, with great characters."
- LARRY BOND
Co-author of Tom Clancy's 'Red Storm Rising' and New York Times bestselling author of 'Red Phoenix'

The Korean Peninsula saw some of the most savage fighting of the Third World War. Several American units covered themselves in fame and glory during the campaign, while some Companies went into battle with a black mark against their names.
‘Culprit’ Company were troublemakers and misfits; outcast rebels with a reputation for ill-discipline and insubordination. But in the face of the enemy, they were the bravest of the brave.
For the new recruits joining ‘Culprit’ Company as the Army advanced through the mud and blood towards Kaesong city on the North Korean border, their initiation to the fury of warfare was a brutal trial-by-fire from which only the toughest soldiers could ever hope to survive.

From the book…
As they moved forward, the Allied artillery opened up again, this time firing smoke to shield the advance from enemy fire. The rounds landed three hundred yards ahead of the infantry with a muted distinctive ‘crump!’ and bloomed into a white swirling curtain of haze.
The column of Brads to the right of the infantry began to accelerate and Hector signalled for his men to keep up. They reached the fogbank of smoke and went through it like they were warily stepping across a threshold into a parallel universe.
On the far side of the smoke, the attack force began funnelling into the mouth of the valley. Through the skeins of haze Hector saw the two hills rising on his flanks as the American attack was forced to compress. The Brads and the Abrams tanks changed course, squeezing towards the center where the infantry were still pushing manfully forward. Hector was struck by a sudden chill premonition of foreboding that ran like a jagged knife down his spine but before he opened his mouth to shout a warning, enemy machine guns opened fire and the world suddenly turned into a blood-soaked inferno.

Gritty, brutal, real- a celebration of the American warrior…

Nick Ryan is a superb writer, bringing the viscera of war to light. You will be immersed in all the savagery of modern combat, nothing left to the imagination. “Defiant To The Death,” like it’s predecessors in the series, is a wake-up call to civilians, in a world now teetering upon the precipice of a true, real, Third World War…

Buy, read, enjoy, but most of all, learn. Bravo Zulu, Mr. Ryan.

Another fast paced story from the world war 3 techno thriller series by Nick Ryan. This book shows the brutal realities of the war, where you fight for your fellow soldier and buddies. There is no dramatic heroism and courage just enough adrenaline to either kill your enemy or be killed. Reality of infantry is quite different from fiction. This story tries to capture the reality.

Loving these books as to what war is really like in the field and the horror's they had to contend with !!
very well written and heartfelt in the words .
Characters are good and the comradeship between the men and there leader ,very disturbing as to what they had to go through ,felt a real part of there distress and bravery .
Highly recommend ,

Great Read

In my humble opinion Defiant To The Death is the best of the series. Non stop, edge of the seat action, that’s so well written making it a page turner that will keep you awake. I certainly hope there is another book on the way!

Heroes

Very well written. The action keeps your attention. I'm sure a lot of veterans have gone through similar experiences and had to put up with real heroes and useless commanders.

Blood and guts.

This book was very deliscriptive of the battles depicted. It covered an almost continuous attack with little interpersonal dialog. The ending is quick and leaves the idea that the tide of war has changed.

Not a bad read, pretty much the same format as its predecessors. I think I've got to the stage where unfortunately they're all blending into the same story and it's getting more difficult to differentiate between them!

Gripping, fast-paced military thriller. It kept my attention easily. I would have given it four stars if there was less gore. This one had a bit too much for my taste.

Blood and Guts

Real battle conditions and some nasty but real commanders that should have never been. Plenty of detailed battles to digest.

Pretty good book about fighting WW3, there are 9 books in this series technically. All books are stand alone in themselves. Two are about fighting in the Kora and the Pacific and the other seven are about fighting in Europe specifically Poland and Germany. Not bad a for a quick read with a good story. Reach one I read in one day.

War Is Hell

Another great read in the series. A very realistic look into the toll killing takes on people and reminds you that no one is safe, no matter how brave they are. R.I.P.
