What if I told you Sasquatches were real? What if I told you we protect them?

Charlotte “Chuck” Barnes is an agent in the Roger’s Family, a secret society created to protect cryptids like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster from the outside world.

Life is usually quiet at the aging Site Alpha, where Chuck is stationed, but a series of deaths brings Chuck face to face with a dark foe from the Family’s past.

Along with Senior Agent Sally DeRosa, Chuck and her team will be forced to use every ounce of their training to battle a rising threat to cryptid and human alike.

But will it be enough to stop the entity behind the Eyes in the Dark?

SITE ALPHA will appeal to fans of The X-Files, Men in Black, and The Mothman Prophecies. It presents cryptids in new and interesting ways, creating a world that is both down to earth, and out of this world.

In Site Alpha, Neal Romriell creates a unique world where Sasquatch and the Loch Ness monster are real. They aren’t just real, but have a secret government agency protecting them. I’ve never read a book quite like it and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was like the men in black became nature reserve park rangers, ones who will put their lives on the line to protect the creatures they’re sworn to look out for. I loved the protagonist, Chuck, she was so tough and determined but also intelligent and caring, making her a very believable character. Jack was terrifying and I enjoyed the chapters that slowly revealed his backstory. His red eyes were sooo creepy!

The ending was excellent and sets up nicely for a sequel, which I can’t wait to get my hands on! Also, now I really want to hug a Sasquatch.

If you like stories about secret government agencies with mystery, action, a little bit of horror and a lot of heart, you’ll love Site Alpha!

I was provided with an ARC from the author. These opinions are my own and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Wow! Neal Romriell takes myths and legends and weaves them beautifully with the modern world. I loved seeing all these myths that I grew up reading about shown in a completely different light. The story draws you in and does not let go until the very end it. It also leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to see what happens next with Chuck.

Site Alpha is a fun, engaging read. In his page-turner debut, Romriell showcases his talent for action and intrigue, pulling you into the story on a visceral level. The cast of characters is unique, spunky, and authentic. I was lucky enough to read an ARC of Site Alpha, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys tales of secret government agencies, kickass female main characters, and slightly "out of this world" subject matter.

Site Alpha is a fast, fun read and a wonderful debut from Neal Romriell. The story follows Charlotte, who is learning the ropes as a member of a secret society, dedicated to protecting cryptids. The creatures featured are presented in unique ways that go beyond the usual "Bigfoot" or "Mothman" lore. The characters, especially Charlotte and her mentor Sally, act in believable ways, and their choices help to solidify the friendship they develop over the course of the novel. The tension that builds over the course of several antagonist POV chapters really kept me wanting to read on, and the ending proved to be both exciting and satifying. If you enjoy shows like the X-Files or The Twilight Zone, then you'll love this book. I recieved an ARC of Site Alpha to review.

Excellent story of a folklore type. It felt like the sasquatches and the red eye monster could actually be real in this storytelling. There is a little romance and some mystery with the secret agency that the public no nothing about it. The beginning seems a bit chaotic with quite a few characters introduced all at once but neil romriell eventually explains their roles. Great story over all.

I've read this book twice... first, in its early stages of conception and now as it's ready to release into the world. I guarantee you will not regret reading this story. Creativity, action, mystery, humor, suspense... Romriell's literally thought of everything. Imagine Men In Black, but with cryptids. I can't wait until the official release to buy a paper copy and pass it along to my husband. What an awesome, well-balanced debut. Thus begins a successful and reputable career as an author! :) Congrats, Neal! I'm rooting for you!

What a great start to a new sci fi series and a new author!!

Site Alpha is an almost defunct, forgotten and planned to be closed down unit of the Rogers family - who protect cryptids like Sasquatchs and other natural “monsters”

I loved the family of sasquatches that come to visit Site Alpha.

But something ancient and dark is hunting and the team at Site Alpha have to race to figure out who and what this monster is.

Lead by Chuck the teams are filled with memorable characters and lots of drama. Great read. I loved it and can’t wait for book 2!!!

I received an advanced copy of this book. I am not writing a review because of that, nor will it affect the review I write.

This was a well written book. I loved the characters and how the interacted. We've all thought there were things out there we couldn't explain, bigfoot, Chupacabra, lock-ness monster... what if they really ARE out there and there's a whole organization designed to help keep the peace between them and the human population as well as keep their secret?

Chuck is in charge of training new recruits, but when things happen, as they are always wont to do, she has to step up to help. She doesn't follow policy because it's there, she thinks, using her mind, and the people around her. The story and emotions are all well presented. I think this book is both well worth reading, and one that will be beloved for years to come.

THIS IS A ARC REVIEW, and may have spoilers.

Neal Romriell did a masterful at building believable characters, and a world where cryptids walk the earth. The Family, is one such group who makes sure these creatures, stay safe and hidden. Chuck is our FMC, and while she is tough, she is also caring. I really enjoyed seeing multiple women in this book who cold hold their own.

This book at times reminded me of Special Unit 2, the TV Show. In it you have cops who protect good cryptids, but Judge/Jury/Etc. the bad ones. I loved that show, just like I loved other ones like that. So, getting to read a book about this sort of thing made me so excited.

This book, really is a good 5/5 stars read. I had a hard time putting it down, even though I was sick with covid, again. So, please take a chance on this debut novel.

I loved the world Neal Romriell created in this book, both the fantastical sasquatches and the familial love between the agents and recruits at Site Alpha. This was both a fast paced sci-fi read and a beautiful, character-driven story about found family.

Now, when do I get to read the next one?

I loved this book! I’m so excited for book 2 as I’m already invested in this world. The idea of a secret society hiding Big Foot and other cryptids is fascinating. The way Romriell creates each creator really makes me care for them. His pacing between character growth and page turning thrilling moments is wonderful. This book is very well written.

I was an ARC reader for this book. My review is not altered because of this.

Chuck is a young trainer in the Family. She is in charge of helping new bright eyed graduates go from brainiacs to highly trained operatives, agents who help mythological creatures survive in a world that isn't ready to know about them. What type of creatures you ask? Any you've heard about, sasquatch, demons, wendigo... anything that mysteriously goes bang in the night.

We may think these things fake, but the Family knows the truth and keeps the safety between them and us.

This book is a fun read for anyone and I highly recommend it.

I wanted new playthings, new puppets whose strings I could pull in exciting and different ways.

This Urban Fantasy, the author's debut book, is a must-read for Cryptid lovers. Well.. it's a must-read for anyone that loves this genre and/ or enjoys stepping into a world of secret agencies, conspiracies, kick-ass women and action packed stories. Think S.H.I.E.L.D versus HYDRA but with cryptids instead of superheroes.

The story is set in a modern day America where Site Alpha covers most of the New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Utah area. It's usually pretty quiet until someone from Senior Agent Sally DeRosa past resurfaces together with a dark entity from the agency's past. What follows is an action packed story that you won't be able to put away. And you might even learn something new about your toothbrush ;)

I absorbed this page-turner and honestly can't wait for the second book!

Neal Romriell is a promising author to look out for. I've had the pleasure of interacting with him after finishing my ARC copy when I was giving him feedback about the book. He responded so kind and thoughtful to the feedback given. This author is definitely worth keeping an eye on. I'm expecting great things from him (no pressure, Neal).

I found myself following along with Charlotte Barnes and rooting for her.

The language is clear and the world solid as we follow Charlotte into issues far above her pay grade. This is no chosen hero or dramatic hot shot but a real woman whose heroism threatens to cost her dearly. She deserves her fans.

To find out why, you'll have to read the book.

**ARC PROVIDED FOR FREE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

This book was nothing like I imagined. The storytelling was great and reading it made me think I'm part of the novel. The author, Neal Romriell, explained in detail every part of the world he created and the elements in it.
While the beginning felt slow, the story quickly got me hooked. Chuck, the main character, is relatable to everyone out there. She makes sacrifices hoping, in the end, it pays off and thinks of others' well-being before hers.
The ending was unexpected in a good way and I will definitely read the next installment.
Go read it! It's worth it.

An exciting and well paced sci-fi. I really enjoyed Romriell's characters and their development. I was left with some questions and mysteries unsolved that cause me to give the 4/4.5 rating. I definitely recommend reading this one and am looking forward to more of this series!
