He’s a surly undercover agent set in his ways. She’s a brilliant scientist from the family he’s investigating. One wrong move could cost them everything—including their hearts.

Raisa thought she’d escaped her family’s criminal world, but her father’s death summons her home and has danger trailing her. When a broody agent storms in promising protection, she has little choice but to accept. It doesn’t mean she’ll let the infuriating man dismantle her world…or her heart.

As secrets unravel and enemies close in, Cruz and Raisa must decide if surviving the mission is worth risking the one thing they suddenly can’t live without—each other.

In a world built on lies, their love may be the most dangerous truth.

Award-winning author LJ Evans lives in Northern California with her husband, child, and the three terrors called cats. She's written compulsively since she was a little girl, often getting derailed from what she should be doing by a song lyric that sends her scrambling to jot a scene down.

A former first-grade teacher, she now spends her days deep in the pages of romance and mystery with a bit of the otherworldly thrown in. Her favorite characters are those who live resiliently—stubbornly and triumphantly getting through this wild ride called life with hope, love, and found families guiding the way.

"Souls seek out souls. They find each other again and again each time they are reborn."
I love LJ's books. I've read most of them already. Disguised As Love is a standalone, but I think you'll enjoy it more if you read the two previous books, Unmasked Desires and Crossed by the Stars.
This is the story of Cruz and Raisa.

"My body and soul were tired until you stormed into my life."
Cruz is a special agent for the FBI, and I absolutely loved getting to know more about him. Raisa is a scientist, but she's also Russian mafia royalty. Cruz is fully devoted to his job, as Raisa is to hers. When he, working undercover, is forced to come into her life, things change for both of them, in every possible way. She has to go back to Russia, and he can't understand his desire to protect her and be there for her. Always.

"If only I could be kissed like this for the rest of my life, nothing else would matter."
Suddenly, the lines between what he should and shouldn't do become blurry. Suddenly, the job he was meant to do comes second, because she comes first. This may be dangerous in ways he can't fathom yet. And Raisa? She fights him, and them, every step of the way. Both their present and their future. She is not going to be bossed around, and she's her own woman.

"You're a masterpiece, little one. Keys I want to play for the rest of my life."
This book has a bit of instalove, and a lot of slow burn. It has angst. The chemistry between both characters is addictive. You feel the tension between them like a living, breathing thing, and the dichotomy between who they are to others - who they're pretending to be - and what they really are when they're together. And you know they can heal each other if they don't allow the rest of the world to keep them apart.

"Because you're mine. But you can set some rules of your own, because as much as you're mine, I'm also yours."
Although I loved the Russian mafia background, and it was definitely entertaining and kept me turning the pages, I needed more from them. Don't get me wrong, there's chemistry in spades, but I wanted more connection, more romance. I'm used to that from LJ's books - the connection that comes from two people who are soulmates, even if they don't realize it or they don't trust it (yet). However, I felt that there were so many things going on that, at times, I forgot about them. And I really didn't want that to happen.

"What comes next?" I asked.
"You."
"And?"
"Nothing else. Just you."

The ending is pretty much the sweetest thing. I needed their HEA, and I only realized how much when I reached 'The End'. I love it that LJ always manages to break me and then put me back together again with her words.
Here, she's spun a tale of two things that shouldn't be, two halves of a whole that don't quite fit.
Until they do. And when they do, it really is a beautiful, magical thing.

Oh my! Disguised as Love is truly LJ Evans at her finest! I have read all of the Anchor series and I love these characters so much I always look forward to see whose story will be coming next. Raisa is Georgie's younger sister whom we first met in Forged by Sacrifice. So much has changed since then. She is now a professor and working on a project for affordable renewable energy that she is feeling is near completion. Cruz Malone is FBI SIC and was introduced in Unmasked Dreams. To say that this man lives for his job would be an understatement. So what happens when two workaholics are thrown together? Well if it is an LJ Evans story it will involve, drama, laughter, angst, action, lust and ultimately love. I don't like to give away too much about a story because I feel as a reader that it ruins my experience knowing what is to come. So let me say that Raisa and Cruz are multi-layered characters and that really drew me in along with the suspenseful storyline. I like that neither one fits in a box and that they both need to think beyond the here and now to see what their future could be. So do yourself a huge favor and pick up this series. I know that there are thousands of books to read but the Anchor series is truly a gem and Disguised as Love was wonderful. It was written in dual POV and I cannot recommend it enough.

If you’re looking for simple and uncomplicated, that is not this story. This is more of a mafia thriller with a side of slow-burn romance. FBI agent Cruz Malone has been undercover with the Russian mafia trying to bring down one of the leaders. When his boss instructs “Antonne Woods" to get Raisa Leskov on a plane to Russia, he has no choice but to follow orders.

Raise Leskov grew up in Russia as the child of a mafia kingpin but came to the States to teach and work on her renewable energy research. She and Georgie (Forged by Sacrifice) share a mother but have only gotten close since Raisa moved from Russia. Now, with her family in turmoil and the future leadership of the mafia uncertain, Raisa does what her father instructed her never to do. She returns home to Russia. Posing as her boyfriend, Cruz/Antonne swears on his life to keep her safe.

Although this is a standalone, you may enjoy it better having read the previous books so you have a little more background on recurring characters. There are a lot of players, but once you get to know them, hold onto your hat. The twists and turns and shocking surprises will steal your breath and keep you guessing. Jaw-dropping, riveting, and adrenaline-fueled, this one is sure to please any romantic suspense lover.

Some authors bring everything to the slow burn table and leave you breathless and hungover at the end. LJ Evans is most definitely one of those authors. Disguised as Love hits all the right notes in this slow burn, romantic suspense, emotional waltz. But don’t take that word “waltz” the wrong way. There is nothing easy, or old, or routine about this story.

The chemistry between Raisa and Cruz is intense and fiery, as the opposites in them find a beautifully powerful attraction that neither is willing to ignore, even though everything within them says they must. These are two wonderfully developed characters, whose depth is enhanced by their interactions with the minor characters Evans seamlessly weaves into their lives and their circumstances.

I love the poetic flow and cadence of Evans’s writing, as it combines solid pacing with vivid imagery of not just the scene she’s setting but the characters’ emotions as well. The tension built by the author through her characters and their actions was fantastic. I will admit to holding my breath for the twist I knew had to be coming, but yeah, it was not what I expected. It was so much better!

While Disguised as Love is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I have not read the other books in the Anchor Suspense series, and I did not at any point feel I was missing information I needed to follow the plot or fall in love with the characters. I will, however be heading back to read the other novels so I can experience their stories as well.

One other thing I want to mention is how absolutely perfect the cover for this novel is. It embodies and expresses the beauty and intensity of the story so completely, I kept coming back to it every time I started reading again because of the visual reminder of the emotions within the story itself.

Disguised as Love:Book-3 in The Anchor Suspense Novels did not fail. There was chemistry, emotions, suspense and a little wft. Cruz and Raisa kept each other on their toes as they fought their attraction and for their lives. The book shows what length people will go through to protect the ones they love.
“As if I’d been missing this my entire life. As if we’d always been meant for this. For him to be mine just as I was his. For these two mismatched bodies and lives to collide in just this way.”
@ljevans has a way with words that just keeps you enthrall. Keeping you on your toes and not wanting to put down the book. When the book is finished you feel like you just lost your friends and just want to meet up with them again.
About the book:
He’s a surly undercover agent set in his ways.
She’s a genius scientist from the family he’s investigating.
One mistake can cost them everything, including their hearts.
After years working to bring the Leskov family down, Special Agent Cruz Malone is determined not to let the sexy, blonde scientist of the family stop him. Tying her to his side with a lie seems like his only option until having her there becomes his riskiest venture yet.
Avoiding her family’s criminal world was Raisa Leskov’s wish and her father’s command, so being summoned home comes with inherent danger. When a broody agent storms in promising to protect her, she lets him. But that doesn’t mean she’ll just sit back and watch while the infuriating man dismantles her world…or her heart.

This was such an exciting book that kept me engaged from the start! There were twists, turns, suspense and action. Cruz is usually pretty calm and focused on his job which has been trying to take down the Leskov family. When Raisa is summoned back home she knows she will be in danger. I was amazed at how they got out of their predicament.

I can't believe it's been 8 months since Disguised as Love released. Raisa and Cruz's enemies-to-lovers romantic suspense may just be my favorite of the Anchor Suspense Novels. Now on to The Painted Daisies which are coming in 2023.

A magnificent and captivating story that takes us across the world.
Raisa and Cruz are the type that seem impossible to become a couple. They met at their mutual friends wedding , while they both felt the attraction, she was vary of the federal agent, because of her father’s “business”. Most people only wanted to become close to her because they wanted information, or her fathers favor.
When her father dies, their paths are crossing, and the journey begins, a journey towards love.
They embark on an unwanted adventure , the unknown is scary for both of them ,but Cruz is determined to protect her.
Raisa surprised me at every turn, she’s stronger than I expected her to be. I really loved her character, she’s one of my most favorite female leads written by the author.

“I couldn’t risk getting involved, and yet, not even a day into this charade, I was drowning.”

The author wrote so well the struggle between duty and want, they both were lusting after the other while understanding, that even if a relationship between them would make sense, it still wasn’t the right moment. Talk about slow burn !!! She writes them so well !

“My body was clamoring to sink into hers. To cover every inch of her with my lips and teeth and tongue. That wasn’t love. That was some obscene desire that was surely going to get me killed.”

I found Cruz is an oxymoron, there are two sides of him that seemingly don’t make sense, but they’re a big part of his personality and what makes him…well…him.
I really don’t want to give away the plot, so that’s why I’m going to keep my review shorter side.
Plot wise the book is so cleverly constructed, the angst was so real, it kept me on edge and I barely slept because I needed to know what comes next. If a book was worth loosing sleep over, this is THE ONE !

*** 4.5 Stars ***

Disguised as Love by LJ Evans is a slow-burn fake-relationship romantic suspense told in first person dual POV. It's the third book in the Anchor Suspense Novels series, a series of interconnected standalones and spin-off series of the Anchor Novels series. Although it can be read as a standalone, readers who have read Forged by Sacrifice, Unmasked Dreams, and Crossed by the Stars will have already met the main characters, Raisa and Cruz.

Disguised as Love follows the relationship between Raisa Leskov, a genius scientist and the daughter of a Russian oligarch with mafiya ties, and Cruz Malone aka “Antonne Woods,” an undercover FBI special agent tasked with toppling the Leskov empire.

I loved Raisa and Cruz’s love story! As characters, they were likable, complex, relatable, and well-developed. The story was suspenseful, full of twists and turns, danger, emotion, intrigue, and romance. Highly recommended for fans of delicious slow-burn romance and romantic suspense!

I'm a huge fan of LJ Evans words. Her ability to pull me in from the very first page is astonishing and nothing has changed since my last book by her.

This time around we're brought into the world for the Russian mafia with Raisa going back to attend her father’s funeral. Cruz is determined to keep her safe and will stop at nothing, even putting himself in danger to make that happen.
While trying to stay alive and outrun the danger they can't deny their chemistry. And when the world almost ends for them both they realize that nothing is more important than standing side by side and facing danger hand on.

This series is really something else and if you’re looking for an escape from the real world – this series is the one for you!

L.J. Evans does it again! I have had the pleasure of reading most of her books. Disguised as Love is absolutely fantastic as well.

L.J. Evans has a way of weaving words to keep the reader enthralled right until the very last word.

Special Agent Cruz Malone is undercover to take down the Leskov family, Russian Mafiya royalty. This man is dedicated to his job, he will do anything he has to to get into the lions den.

Rasia Leskov is a brilliant scientist who is dedicated to her work, but she is also a Russian Mafiya princess.

Both Cruz and Raisa are such multi-layered characters. Neither of them are ultimately defined by their jobs, even when both are workaholics. Much more goes into what makes them who they are.

This story is so deep. A mix of mystery, laughter, loss, angst, lust, and of course love. I will forever read L.J. Evans' books.

Disguised as Love: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance (The Anchor Suspense Novels Book 3) that brings multifaceted characters and takes you along a suspenseful reading experience. I love the flowery style of expression and tempo of the authors writing style. Of course, the unexpected twist intricately entwined into the plot. I loved learning about the Russian mafia and caffeine fueled moments. I loved the epilogue. Looking forward to reading whats next by this author.

Four and a half stars!

Cruz Malone is an FBI agent deep undercover in the US part of the Russian mafiya. He lives and breathes as Antonne Woods. When he is told to get Raisa Leskov on a plane to Russia, he has no choice but to do so, even though it's the last thing he wants to do. Raisa is a professor and researcher, working on a solution to the world energy crises using perovskite. Raisa and Cruz have crossed paths before and she knows his real identity. Even though she hates him for what he has to do, they must work together to figure out what is going on in Russia, how to get Raisa back to the US safely, and try to uncover the information Cruz needs for his case without damaging the fragile relationship they are developing.

From the start, there is plenty of intrigue and action. The romance is a slow-burn, but there is so much happening in the story and so much chemistry between the two main characters, you will be on the edge of your seat wondering when they will both realize how they feel. Both characters must wear multiple masks in order to survive, presenting different characteristics or personas to different audiences, yet each can see the other's true self behind all the facades. I also love the use of music throughout the book, both in the chapter headings and woven in to the character's lives.

Disguised as Love is a standalone novel that is part of the Anchor Series and is well written and fast paced. It has a HEA and an epilogue set in the future.

I haven't yet met a cast of characters created by LJ Evans that I don't love. They're strong-willed and bad*ss and help paint a picture of the world in which they live. I seriously want to be a fly on the wall or an invisible being following them around to get in on the adventure.

The anchor suspense novels are a little bit different from the anchor novels. Disguised as Love has the elements of a happily ever after romance but only after the main characters have gone on an epic adventure that includes international crime and an eye for an eye justice. Raisa and Cruz were as different as night and day. They've crossed paths in other books. Her sister Georgie has her own Anchor novel. She conducted experiments as a scientist for a living; he fought for justice all over the world as part of the FBI. It was her connection to the Russian mafiya that brought them together. They had a deep connection that they both tried to deny and tamp down. Neither was looking for love, but love smacked them in the face. The intrigue kept me reading since not only did I want to see Cruz and Raisa get their HEA, I wanted to find out what was happening between the Leskovs and the Volkovs and the power that keeps international crime in business. There are twists and turns in the story that keep you rooted to the page. Life sure isn't boring in the fictional world LJ creates!

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Cruz Malone has been undercover with the Russian mafia for years when he is ordered to bring Petra Lescov’s daughter to his boss in Russia after her father’s reported death. He remembers being wildly attracted to her when they attended the w=same wedding and vows that it will be all professional. He doesn’t want what happened to his parents, to happen for him. He won’t lose focus.

Raise Lescov is working on a formula that will change the energy arena greatly when Cruz comes for her. She was not yet aware of her father’s death, and when he tells her, she’s devastated. Her father had told her never to return to Russia, for any reason. Cruz tells her that he will protect her and make sure she gets back to the US safely.

Little did either of them know what was in store for them. When they reach her family home, using the cover that Cruz is her boyfriend, they find her mother nearly comatose with grief, and her brother angrier than ever. Raise is devastated, but will not let it show. when her fathers long-time “friend” Volkov takes over the funeral planning and moves into the Lescov home, the realize that more is going on… something is off. Thus begins the excellent story that ensues from there.

I am so in love with the Anchor novels! These books hit on all levels for me. I love romance… add mystery and intrigue and I am a very happy reader. LJ Evans is so good at creating characters and storylines that just make you want more!!! I am a fan. This is, yet, one more book that I will recommend to my reading friends.

I have to admit I fell instantly in love with the cover of Disguised as Love. It is the definition of gorgeous. The beautiful models and the way the light and dark work together in so many ways to deliver one of the most pleasing visual experiences I have ever had is extraordinary. I have been looking forward to reading this book since it was announced. Now that I have finished, sigh...

The absolute joy I feel about the conclusion of Cruz and Raisa's story is tempered by the sadness left because I have finished reading and can no longer stay lost in the suspense and drama that these two must navigate. The story is achingly beautiful;filled with passion and angst. The slow burn between Cruz and Raisa singed the hairs from the surface of my skin and burned a path straight into my soul. Their intense attraction for each other is utterly unforgettable.

LJ Evans has taken such care with the details in Disguised as Love. She describes the nuances between the characters, the places they visit, and the feelings they experience with such vivid and accurate language. The story is resplendent with strong imagery. There were times that I had to pause reading just to revel in the exquisitely penned passages I read.

It is entirely accurate to say LJ Evans has created a book that is even more beautiful on the inside than it is on the outside. Disguised as love is one of my favorite reads of 2022. It will become a staple on my shelf of books to re-read. LJ Evans has inspired me to read Romantic Suspense more often with her Anchor Suspense Novels.

Having read Unmasked Dreams and Crossed by the Stars i couldn't wait for more! As soon as Disguised as Love was announced i could not contain my excitement for it! Getting to pick another one of Ms.Evans's books had me looking forward to it even more. That cover is one of my favorites! I picked it up as soon as i could and got back into The Anchor Suspense world. I loved it!

I was so happy when i found out that Raisa and Cruz were getting their very own book!

Cruz and Raisa's journey hooked me right from the get go! From the moment these two are brought together, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them. I really liked how the ball got rolling from the start. I wasn't sure what all to expect in this story which had me glued to it even more!

The chemistry between Raisa and Cruz was undeniable and fantastic! I was so glad that i got to jump into both of their minds and dig deeper. I loved how i felt so many emotions with them throughout! Disguised as Love is the next exciting installment in LJ Evans’ Anchor Novels series, featuring the broody Agent Cruz Malone and the independent scientist Raisa Leskov. He’s trying to bring down her organized crime family, and she just wants to change the world with her science. Danger comes from everywhere. Can they ever find a way out together? This book has so many layers with the suspense storylines and the excellent twists, well-developed characters, awesome world building, and the sizzling chemistry of the slow burn romance! The characters are relatable, and the emotion is palpable and real. As with all of LJ’s books, engaging song lyrics set the tone for each chapter. I always look forward to these. When reviewing suspense books, I don’t give spoilers, and with the twists/surprises in this one there’s a lot I can’t say, but this is definitely a must read!! I forced myself to read this one slower, so I wouldn’t miss any of the details. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

“This was a slow promise. A taste of wine before you’ve poured the full glass.”

That’s the perfect quote to sum up this book. From the beginning (or even earlier when we got a taste of these two in previous books) these characters promised to bring us something special. And they did not disappoint!

From the abrupt and decimating way they were brought together I knew we were in for one roller coaster ride! The Russian mafia princess and the secret agent’s slow burn was brilliantly written. The push and pull dramatic and beautiful. Their worlds collide in the most spectacular and devastating of ways!

So much action, suspense, twists, and turns, that you will devour every single morsel while your heart races and your fingers itch to turn the next page.

LJ Evan’s complex plots and character developments are always so in-depth and well thought out. And yet her words flow in a way that brings the characters and scenes to life – like I could image seeing them all play out in a magnificent action-packed movie! Sheer brilliance!

What another amazing story by LJ Evans again!

Disguised by Love is the third book in The Anchor Suspense novels and the story is just as great as the previous two.

The story follows Cruz Malone, an FBI agent who is tasked with bringing down some of the worlds biggest mafia families. The Leskov’s are at the top of that list and for the last few years he has worked his way into the underworld where he can get close to these people.

One problem though is Raisa Leskov, the daughter of the boss, who is a scientist living in America and has the possibility of changing the world with the technology she’s creating.

When their world’s collide and Cruz has to escort Raisa back to Russia under the guise of being her boyfriend, Antonne, neither is expecting the reaction their bodies and minds have to each other.

There is instant chemistry but the story is a slow burner and it takes a long while for them to give into their feelings. Along with following their path to each other, we have a story interwoven with lots of suspense, thrills and great secondary characters. All lead us to a climatic ending which has you at the edge of your seat.

The book gives you everything you want in a romantic suspense!

If you want the perfect romance suspense story, then this one is for you.

I have always loved the style of writing that this author has.
It's so different from other stories I have read.

When the peacemaker between the Russian Bratva Mafia dies, his daughter Raisa Leskov feels like she has no choice but to return home to her family in Russia.
Her father had warned her to never come back and she knew she was walking into the devils pit by doing so.
She plans to find out who killed her father and make them pay.

FBI Special Agent Cruz Malone has been undercover and is tasked to take down this Russian mafia.
Now he wants nothing more than to protect this beautiful woman from the dangers that are lurking everywhere, but where his loyalties lie in the end? His job or the beautiful woman who he's not supposed to have feelings for.

"I couldn’t risk getting involved, and yet, not even a day into this charade, I was already drowning."

This is a slow burn with lots and lots of twists and turns that will keep you turning page after page to find out what happens next.

Disguised as Love has so much slow-burn, angst, and suspense, I found myself devouring the pages of this story because I needed to know how Raisa and Cruz would get their happy ending. It wasn't a matter of if, but when.

L.J. Evans' talented writing always leaves me wondering what will come next. Her characters are interlinked with her other books, yet each story is unique and packed with a world of its own. In Disguised as Love, we meet Raisa Leskov, daughter of one of the most notorious Russian mafia bosses. She has been living in the U.S. for years, where she works as a researcher and professor at Standford University. Her family might live from crime, but she has vowed to give back and make the world a better place.

FBI undercover agent Cruz Malone is set on bringing Leskov down. He lives and breathes for his job, and not even the beautiful and strong wilded Russian scientist will take his focus from the big picture. Or so he thinks, because as lines blurred he will have to decide what and who is really important to him.

A suspenseful story that has you glued to the edge of your seat while twisting and turning right to the very end.

Cruz and Raisa go to Russia for her father's funeral where they soon realize that they will be fighting not only the attraction between them but also for their lives.

Another great addition to the Anchor Suspense series that I could not put down. Cruz and Raisa have some undeniable tension and chemistry between them. I love this world and can not wait for the next book by LJ Evans.

Disguised as Love / Anchor Suspense 3 contains... romantic suspense, opposites attract, law enforcement, interracial, slow burn, dual first-person point of view.

This book is so incredible and beautiful and breathtaking. The care, detail and emotion that LJ pours into each of her characters is fascinating. She will have you laughing, swooning, tearing up and loving this couple.

This is a enemies to lovers, mafia story that will take you on amazing adventure across the ocean to St. Petersburg, Russia. Both the suspense and romance in the story is top level - the action will keep you on the edge of your seat. The angsty love story that develops will have you wanting so much for Cruz and Raisa.

Raisa is a brilliant scientist that is on the verge of a brilliant breakthrough. She receives devastating news and has to travel back to Russia but not without protection.

Cruz has secrets that he must keep or else it could cause him and others danger. He is a fierce protector and will do anything to take care of those he’s responsible for.

Bravo LJ on another fantastic story that leaves your readers captivated and entertained.

I received a complimentary copy and I’m leaving my honest review.

Wow….just wow!!! From page 1 I knew this was going to be a sit on the edge of my seat nail biter and I was right! I felt like I was watching a movie and there was no way I could stop reading until I knew how Cruz and Raisa got out of the situation they found themselves mixed up in. The chemistry between Cruz and Raisa is palpable…you can feel the love hate relationship Raisa has toward Cruz. The suspense is off the charts and I often wondered how in the world LJ Evans was going to work everything out but believe me when I say….she worked things out in a way I didn’t see coming! Wonder how the daughter of the head of Russian mafia and an undercover FBI agent can possibly find a HEA….guess you’ll need to read the book but….warning…give yourself enough time to read cover to cover because you won’t be able to put it down!

Wow! This book is EPIC! It's filled with suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

You can feel the chemistry between Cruz and Raisa come off the pages! The action and suspense start from page one and will grip you long after the last page. These two come from different worlds, yet they couldn't be more perfect for one another. Cruz works as an undercover FBI agent and Raisa is the daughter of one of the Russian mafia bosses.

Cruz is a natural protector with a heart of gold. He will do anything for the ones he loves. I love that he's so musically gifted as well.

Raisa is a brilliant woman creating a new form of energy. She's loyal to her family and way stronger than her small body looks.

Their story is intensely satisfying with all its twists and turns, the chemistry between characters, and of course their unexpected love. Be prepared to do nothing but read when you start this book because it's addictive!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Special agent Cruz Malone has a very important mission to bring the Russian mafia down, he’s been undercover for almost two years and now he has to take Raisa Leskov to Russia for her father’s funeral. To say she’s reluctant to going back it’s an understatement, but there’s a pull Antonne(Cruz Malone) has over her that makes her trust him.
They embark on an epic story of slow burn chemistry and dark family secrets that ends up giving us all the feels and then some.

LJ did an outstanding job with the push and pull between these two. Every time you think they’re finally going to give into their feelings, something happens and they get sidetracked. It was lovely to see St. Petersburg through their eyes and the way music permeates their story is just amazing.
I loved, loved, loved this book and it was a major plus for me to have a scientist as the main female character!

Phenomenal Read!

This book is absolutely stunning! It’s a sultry seduction with beautiful words and heart stopping emotion embedded into every page. LJ Evans has certainly outdone herself with this one and I’m still hypnotized by this dangerously romantic tale.

Raisa and Cruz are absolutely everything you crave when two forbidden worlds collide. Raisa is such a fierce and passionate heroine. And Cruz has brutal intensity that showcases both his tenderness and strength.

‘She’d embedded herself into my visual memories now, just like her sweet, cinnamon scent had locked itself into my veins.’

LJ Evans has created a completely captivating romantic suspense novel. The series is fantastic but this book is easily my favorite. She’s a master storyteller and I know I’ll be swooning over Cruz and Raisa for a long time.

Disguised as Love is a book you dive into head first, heart pounding, and butterflies fluttering, and come out feeling completely astounded. It's one of those stories that just captures your whole soul. The twists and turns will have you gasping and begging for more. It will kick you right in the feels, but the pain will totally be worth it. Sooooo many emotions, loss, grief, love, anger, happiness but it didn't feel like a roller coaster, each paged flowed seamlessly to bring this story together for me with an ending that left me smiling. I. LOVED. EVERY. SINGLE. MINUTE. I had highs and lows. Laughter and tears. Rejoicing and cringing. Love and disgust. Honestly, just about every emotion you could have, I felt. I LOVED Cruz & Raisa’s story sooooooo much!! I will read this again just so I can drool over the hero. Ugh. I did NOT want this story to end!! I am truly hoping that LJ writes Ito-San, Ilia, Malik’s stories. If you love good, romantic suspense you need to pick up a copy of this book, it is spectacular.
