I enjoy reading books 📚 by Piper Stone. She always spins a great storyline, her H are always dominant and bossy and her h can hold their own under fire. This was a mystery/suspense, with a fire cracker ending. It may have triggers for some readers, so beware.

I think this is this author's self-wish-fulfilling kinda book. Kudos for her for doing it but hell I have a hard time getting into it.
The heroine in this book is an author. A dark mafia romance author. One day, she used the inspiration of a mafia boss from her friend. The boss hunted her down and kidnapped her. Because you see, her mafia book is now an Amazon bestseller, GMA wanted to interview her, it's the next big thing in the publishing world.
I can't. 😬 Maybe books about books are just not for me.

This book is spicy for sure. It is a mafia “romance”with the kidnapping trope, brutal alpha male who enjoys providing punishment to his captor, and a huge age difference. Lots of spicy scenes for sure. Stay for the spice…but the rest of the story was lackluster.
If you are here for the spice and nothing but the spice then the book is solid. But the story arc for Liam solving his wife and son’s murder was somewhat predictable. Also their “love story” caused me whiplash. In the morning she loathed him and by that night she loved him. And she seemed to switch from loath to love after he finally “fully claimed her” in every way. She seemed to just be like well he kidnapped me, has been brutal and humiliated me on multiple occasions but the spice is hot soooo love. I just didn’t understand her loving him. Just not my cup of tea, I like a mafia romance but prefer when the heroine has more consent.
I did listen to it via audible and Skyler Morgan did a great job narrating the book.

Female MC has no backbone
She's pretty worthless. She fights the first day and then pretty much completely gives up and falls for him after he assaults all her lower cavities by the side of the road. Her lack of spine was completely off putting. DNF at 44%.

A well developed dark Mafia tale of deception and heartache with a generous helping of hot dirty scenes and a growing romance. The plot scenario is interesting, Cimeran is a romance author who has managed to obtain enough information on a true Mafia murder from her ex police friend to give her book that feeling of authenticity that makes it a best seller. The down side being it comes to the attention of the New York kingpin at the centre of the case. Well drawn up plot with interesting characters.
Take note of the warnings, there is some non consensual/ dubious consent sex, which may be a trigger for some.

mmmm im not sure how i feel about this one.
I normally enjoy syler as a narrator but this one wasnt for me. I couldnt tell the chapters that were the fmc apart from the fact the name was at the start of the chapter. The passionate scenes didnt have the passion that i normally hear in his voice unfortunately. I also dont normally mind the alphaholes in pipers books but i just didnt feel this storyline.
ahhhh sorry team i cant recommend this one.

The concept of the story is good, and could have been brilliant with just a few little differences.
However…… He’s actually insane and psychotic. Forcing her to recreate scenes in her book, having dinner with her like there’s nothing wrong forcing her to do things, threatening her friends. She fights him on everything, each little thing and it’s just far too much and just getting ridiculous and annoying. She should have being clever and played his game. Very little in the way of consent and heavy on the punishment with quite a bit of it being humiliation. 😒
So yeah not the best overall….
And it’s really petty, but her name annoyed me to the point I just kept reading Cameron in my head rather than Cimeran

Couldn’t put it down for the life of me such a wonderful read full of mystery mafia life and so much awesomeness!! I loved every part of it had me guessing so much about who the killer was I couldn’t get the pages moving fast enough. I thought it was a different book by piper but was so happy in the end I knew from chapter 3 it had me locked in I only wish there was more chapters it’s so good cause trust me!! :) it will keep you wanting answers and more the characters are amazing and funny in my opinion I’m so happy all the way around with this book thank you so much piper stone for another awesome book to keep and read over and over again!!! :).

Good premise—poor execution
Really wanted this to be amazing, but it had huge plot holes—disjointed, clumsy, and quite a few typos. Good idea for a story though.

Cimeran is an author and when she writes about the actual murder of a mother and son, it hits to close to home for Liam, a mafia don. He knows that story is about his wife and son and he wants to know how she know so much about their murders. He takes her and plans to interrogate her until she tells him what he wants to know. What will happen when they both enjoy his interrogation tactics? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters and an entertaining dark mafia read. I liked it.

I did really enjoy this story.. I mean who doesn't want their fictional character to come to life... that being said I'd be scared as hell too as I like my fictional men dark just like Liam😂 He is a Mafia Boss who kidnaps the author of the book of his life. He doesn't know she had help in writing it and thinks she knows more than she does. PLEASE CHECK TW as there is some NON/QUESTIONABLE CONSENT amongst others. I did get the twist early on but that still didn't spoil it. An easy and quick read 😊

A riveting read, enjoyed every single page that had great characters and a wonderful plot
This was a simply fantastic read that I enjoyed every single moment of and I have to say that other readers will be as blown away by this book as myself. The story was based around a wife and son murder that had been based on a great plot and wonderfully written characters.
The Irish Mafia Don who has a list of people who he believes may have been responsible for the murder of his wife and son and now he is determined to find justice no matter what it takes. Then he hears about a story that has been written that is so close to his family’s murder there is no way it could be a coincidence so he decides to find the author and find out where the details came from.
He kidnapped her and then took her to his place where he questioned her and discovered exactly what she knew, what he had not expected was that he would fall for his informer and this has changed his life.
However, he has to catch the murderer of is family if he is going to find any rest and he knows that he cannot do this until he sorts this matter out.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Another well-written Mafia-themed romance story with well-crafted characters. The storyline was somewhat predictable, but this did not distract from how much I enjoyed it with its pitfalls and peaks. The story has elements of danger, mystery, angst, and delicious sex scenes. If you don't like violence or forced submission, this is not the book for you.
The past provided the foundation for this story, with Liam determined to eliminate every name on his list who had a hand in the death of his family. What a tortured soul he was. Unforgiving and merciless and the day Cimeran came to his attention changed her world forever. A writer who had a best seller that was loosely based on a real-life incident in a Mafia family. Her life crumbled down and spiraled out of control when she came to the attention of Liam. He used her as bait to flush out a killer. She was quick with a retort, sassy and never giving up her fight for freedom. This is where this story becomes predictable as Liam does a 360, and he develops feeling for Cimeran. She brings back the light in his world leaving him aching for her touch. I loved Cimeran’s spirit and her quest to tame the beast within Liam. She felt free and deliciously dirty as the fire raged between them.

I really enjoyed this book. I had, in the past, stepped back from reading books by this author as all her books seemed be written in a way that got tiresome to read after time- very predicable in how they flowed.(I get it - an author writes what they know the majority of readers wants.) So after having stepped away from her most recent books, I decided to try again. And I am glad I did. I really enjoyed this book. Liam is only living for revenge. Cimeran is an up-and-coming author who uses some detail knowledge to a crime to write her (hopefully) best seller. A Mafia boss and an author hoping to make it big come together and the sparks fly!! Cimeran becomes more than just a means-to-an-end for Liam as his frozen heart begins to thaw. And Liam becomes much more to Cimeran than a Mafia boss who is a cold-hearted killer. Their relationship is full of anger, distrust, angst and passion as Liam tries to find out who killed his son. The suspense in this book, kept me hanging right until the end and when I read who-dunit. I figured it was anyone else in the story but the person who actually killed Liam's son. The author keeps the reader in the dark right until the end. A great story and I am glad I took a chance to read it.

PStone, always the queen for toeing the line on non/dub-con, dark tales brings this story a little closer to her wheelhouse by writing one of her characters as an author. Not only is this character an author, but she is writing a story about the unsolved murders of a very prominent mafia family. She believes it's a story worth telling . . . She will bet her life in it.
Liam is just the type of man to take her up on that bet seeing as he is the head kingpin of the local Irish mafia and it just so happens that the story seems sweet eerily similar to murders of how wife and son. He's a man on a mission. NO! A man on a warpath, determined to find out who did and no woman with a 'source' is going to stop him. He will get his answers whether she likes it or not, he'll get them and he will like every minute it takes to get them. Justice, revenge, heartache, healing. He will have to decide to cling to the past or grip on to the future?
As always with Stone books, there is passion, fire, burning, and most definitely ignition. Not all scenes are exactly copacetic. These characters live in a world of darkness and see the world by shades of gray. Enjoy because I sure did.

Another great story by Piper Stone. This is the story of Cimeran who is an author who just wrote a book somewhat similar to the death of Noah McGinty, the son of Liam McGinty who is the leader of the Irish mafia. Cimeran is feisty, sassy, and doesn’t have much of a life. Liam, is cold, dark and ruthless. He is out to find out who killed his family and believes that Cimeran has more information than she is telling.
There might be some sparks when Liam and Cimeran meet, but of course, Cimeran knows exactly who he is and can’t fathom the idea of being attracted to a criminal. They both believe they have nothing in common, but as the story goes on, you find that they might have a few things in common. Liam believes he can break Cimeran by punishing her as often as he can and holding her hostage.

My feelings:
Ok so at first I wasn’t super impressed with his book. I felt like ti was lacking something. But by halfway it was fine. I think the start was just missing something to help grab my attention.
This was an ok read, it wasn’t fantastic, but it was ok. I like the storyline and the smut. But I felt like it was laking something.
“You did very well. You are trainable, although it will take significant time.” He swung the belt over my head, holding it in front of me. “Stick out your tongue.”
I read with audio and im wondering if this is what ruined it for me. I felt like the accent wasn’t good and needed to be a duet.
“Who doesn’t lie for a living, Ms. Wentworth? Those who manage to do so with a smile on their face are blessed, wealthy, and powerful.”
Other then that it was good.

Ok so at first I wasn’t super impressed with his book. I felt like ti was lacking something. But by halfway it was fine. I think the start was just missing something to help grab my attention.
This was an ok read, it wasn’t fantastic, but it was ok. I like the storyline and the smut. But I felt like it was laking something.
“You did very well. You are trainable, although it will take significant time.” He swung the belt over my head, holding it in front of me. “Stick out your tongue.”
I read with audio and im wondering if this is what ruined it for me. I felt like the accent wasn’t good and needed to be a duet.
“Who doesn’t lie for a living, Ms. Wentworth? Those who manage to do so with a smile on their face are blessed, wealthy, and powerful.”
Other then that it was good.

What a wonderful story this is, honestly the characters are amazing and while reading, i thought to myself i know what is going to happen and who the murderer is.... but no i was so totally wrong. Twists in this story make it a really must read.
Liam has enemies he knows that, first when he was young his father was murdered, then his lovely wife and son were murdered and he has been looking for revenge ever since. Having a list of people to track down to get to the bottom of it.
However he is astounded when his best friend comes to him with a book, and in that book are the exact details of how his son was murdered.
Cimeran was an author, and she knew that this story was her best yet.Given that a small part of the story was taken from her girlfriends point of view, she was sure that the man himself would not know she has put points in her story. But she was soon proven wrong when he showed up at her signing. He will make her tell him the truth, collar her and marry her and punish her.
This is a must read. So so good.

Another great story if you are a Piper Stone fan. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were incredible. Cimeran is an author and the book that she just wrote was the best she's ever written. Her story had the exact details of how Liam's son and wife were murdered. Liam, the Irish Mafia boss, ends up reading about the murder when his best friend brings him the book. After reading that he decides to kidnap Cimeran and interrogates her to find out just what she knows. They find that they are attracted to each other and as he questions her they start their adventure with action, betrayal, danger, violence, assault, kidnapping, excitement, surprises, mystery, suspense, punishments, spankings, and plenty of steamy heat. I had to finish the story to find out "who done it!" I can't wait to read another book by Piper Stone. Yummy story.

impossible to put down
I was instantly drawn to these characters and the storyline pulled me in from the start and wouldn’t let me go. This book is well worth the all nighter I pulled so I could finish it. Piper Stone is an excellent writer so it was totally fitting to have the protagonist as a writer. It just fit so well. Wonderful, interesting, complex characters; great world building; a compelling and engaging storyline; all the darkness and steam and deliciousness befitting the genre; and a plot twist I never saw coming. There were mentions of the past, the present unfolding, and a mystery from the past threatening the future, but it wasn’t disorienting or confusing and everything flowed organically. No plot holes or threads and a beautiful and well-deserved happily ever after. This is a well written, enjoyable story I highly recommend.

When he was shown the book that was similar to the murder he needed answers and he figured this writer had first hand knowledge. He was determined to find the killer who murdered not only his son but his wife as well. He had become a harden man but when he saw Cimeran, they both had an instant attraction. He needed his answers so he kidnapped her when she wouldn’t have coffee with her after the book signing. Cimeran was tough and stubborn and fought the mafia boss on every turn. No matter how many times he punished her, she stayed true to herself and slowly begin to change him. Beautiful story with a wonderful HEA.

Liam and Cimeran's story. I thought this book was ok, the character of Cimeran just really made me mad. The thoughtlessness of her actions towards her friend. She takes things she probably told her in confidence about a Mafia case and used them in a book and didn't really change that much if Liam was able to see that it was his story. I know it is just a story but it still bugged me.
I liked the relationship between Liam and Cimeran and was glad of her reaction of anger during their first encounter. They grew to love each other and had hot and steamy fun.
I also enjoyed finding out who had betrayed Liam. It was not who I thought it was.
It was just an ok book but I will continue to read her books because I usually love them.

Our heroine was not expecting to get this close to the man she wrote about in her stories. As it turns out, she is going to get very close indeed.
This is a dark romance story with strong elements of D/S and punishment. The story is well written and rather action packed, with a busy plot that has lots of twists and turns along the way. The characters are also well developed and fit the story, as well as each other. The story is focused more on the developing relationship than the mafia elements, so keep that in mind when deciding if this one is for you. It certainly held my attention. We get a good amount of steamy scenes throughout. Overall, it was a very entertaining read, well worth the time.

She wrote the wrong story and he wants to get to the "bottom" of her

Interrogated has an interesting story-line, albeit with the expected Piper Stone details. The story is about Cimeran, an author who has been making a living but wants a best seller, and Liam, the Irish Mafia boss that she ends up writing about. Liam understandably is mad and wants to know where the author has gotten what appears to be very inside information about his case. So he kidnaps her and then interrogates her, over and over again.
I liked the story-line but found the book needed a good editor/proofreader as there were a lot of issues which took me out of the story. Overall I thought it was a good story and would have definitely rated higher if properly edited.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I wonder if Ms. Stone didn't put a little bit more of herself into this heroine, as a writer who publishes every two weeks herself. I know that I have a new favorite Piper Stone book!.
