Eleven years ago, I left New Mexico. Seven years ago I married a man I loved. Nine months ago, I caught him cheating on me with his secretary. Now, I’m back home. I’ve buried my mother, my old life, and I’m prepared to move on from the Land of Entrapment.
My mother passed, and now I’m stuck here in my hometown of Albuquerque tying up the last of her affairs before moving on. All that’s left is to rearrange her massive collection of furniture for the estate sale management people, then stage the house and put it on the market.
That’s the plan, at least. We all know what they say about best laid plans, though…
Because, who should I see when visiting my high school sweetheart to ask for moving help? None other than my ex’s best friend, and my own most unrequited of loves, Dax Taylor. Sure, we shared a steamy night with my ex twelve years before, but I’d always hoped we could have had more. Now, he’s finally back from the Navy, and has the hardened eyes (and muscles) to prove it!
My ex might have stood me up on the furniture moving, but Dax is more than happy to help. And, coincidentally, he’s more than happy to help with quite a few other things around the house.
Until, that is, the next morning, when I receive a strange call from Todd, my ex. He sounds terrified, and like he’s making his peace with the Lord, or something. Now, Dax is calling in two of his war buddies, and coworkers, to track him down.
I only have one problem with that plan: something doesn’t feel right about having these two complete strangers, Khurk and Cash, hunt down my ex for me. But, after I insinuate myself into their little skiptrace expedition, I quickly begin to realize there’s a whole list of other problems. Chief amongst them? Cash is an absolute asshole, and Khurk is an absolute hunk of a teacher’s dream come true.
Oh, who am I kidding? They’re both this teacher’s dream come true!
If I can help Cash and Khurk figure out what my ex was up to out here on the US-Mexico border, while dodging not one but two murderous biker gangs, then I’ll only have one more thing to figure out: how I feel about Dax’s suggestion to enjoy my time as a single woman for all it’s worth.
Can this elementary school teacher and three brave, battle-hardened veterans save her ex, and fix all the problems he’s caused along the way? Or will the relationship I’ve begun to rebuild with Dax, and to newly forge with Cash and Khurk, be nothing but a Mirage on the desert horizon?
This is a reverse harem romance with three sexy heroes and one beautiful heroine! No cliffhangers, guaranteed standalone, and 100% guaranteed HEA!
Tory is the author of the series Shadows Over Dallas and Men of Clarke County. She lives somewhere east of Dallas, Texas with her husband, a cranky cat, four ornery goats, and a flock of chickens.
Hannah had moved back home after she divorced her cheating ex husband. When her mother passes, she needs help moving her mother’s possessions, and in her search she runs into Dax. A man whom she’d spent one night together years ago, and who she still thinks of today. Dax is more than willing to help her with the moving, and it seems, he’s willing to do more. When she receives an almost frantic call from Todd, her ex, Dax calls up his buddies, Cash and Khurk, to help track Todd down. Then the four set out to find Todd and in turn set their journey together in motion. A great reverse harem romance and one I really enjoyed.

Our heroine has been through a rough time, but she is trying to put it behind her and move on. Of course, that is not as easy as it sounds, particularly with her ex in over his head and three hunks willing to help her out. This is either a really bad idea or a really good one.
This is something of a military romance with a reverse harem. The story is well written and easy to read with a fascinating plot that packs a lot of action, intrigue and mystery into it. The characters are well done with solid backgrounds and distinct personalities that make the interactions fun and fresh each time. Add in a nice bit of steam and an solid HEA and you have a real winner on your hands.
Highly recommended.

Hannah, Dax, Khurk and Cash make up an amazing little harem in this book.
Hannah is back in her hometown after a divorce and her mother's death where she runs into an old flame, Dax, from her past while looking for an ex from her past. When it seems as if her ex is more trouble than he can handle, Dax calls in his team of Khurk and Cash to help look into finding him and Hannah tags along without Dax knowing. From there this book takes you on a twisty turny ride of suspense.
There is spice, lots of spice. No MM, some triggers such a trafficking, but was a fabulous little harem book.

Hannah's ex and Dax's old friend is involved in something dangerous and the race is on to find him after an ominous phone call. If he is operating on the other side of the law, Hannah, Dax and his team of Khurk and Cash must ultimately decide what to do once they find him . There is plenty of suspense along the way as they get mixed up with outlaw bikers. Add in the heated menage romance expected with a Tory Palmer book and this is an enjoyable addition to the Trident Security series.
