Seen through the eyes of Priyanka, the book depicts the healing and transformative power of love. An unconventional love story, set in current context,it is a heart warming take on the issues faced in a conventional family. It reinforces the power of family values and relationships
This one was a quick read but I'd say not much to my expectations. I found the characterization of the protagonists a little exaggerated to convince readers about the transformation it went through in the end. Both sides were a little extreme for me to make sense. It definitely felt like reading a Hindi tv drama for one thing!
I'd recommend this to beginners looking out for lighter storylines and simple characters 🙌
Love unlocked by Kavita Bhatnagar is a novel that most of us can relate to. The story revolves around family, relationship, adjustment and dreams. Sometimes we don't get things as we dream or sketch it in our mind. Life is all about lessons, understanding and efforts. This novel is a true example of this fact. The protagonist, Priyanka is a headstrong woman who was never chained down by her parents. She explored many things in life and always was vocal about her thoughts and whatever she felt was right. But marriage brought an unexpected twist in her life. Can she adjust in her new environment? Read the story to know more about her life.
Coming to the plot, it was very simple yet crucial in our life. The story talks about a similar epidemic situation where families go through lockdown and every other thing we went through the covid pandemic. The character development was great here. Each of them helped the plot to reach its peak. I liked how the author showed the vulnerable sides of Priyanka where she was concerned about her shape, style and confused about relationship, career . This actually gave the book a realistic touch because many of the teenagers go through the same insecurities. The book is fast paced and the writing style is very smooth. Due to these, all the drama didn't feel boring at all. Rather it became a very light, enjoyable read.
I found two very minor mistakes in the book. This book is recommended for those who would like to read some family drama, after marriage struggle and the stubborn story of a dreamer.
Didn’t like this at all. I didn’t like the characters, the story and detested the narration too. I didn’t find any redeemable features in this story at all. The only reason I didn’t dnf is because I needed to complete it for a challenge, so I listened to it at 3,5 speed and it was still too slow. I understand the cultural part of the story, and probably that is the reason I detested it, but over all it didn’t work for me. At least I didn’t spend any money on it as it’s free on audible.
I didn't like any of the main characters in this story, and the ending felt forced. Priyanka just magically changed everything about herself and lived happily ever after? I mean, I didn't necessarily like her at all times, but why was she the only one who had to change, and why didn't her husband, just once, stick up for her or take her side?
I bought this book a long time back. And finally I found it here on good reads. Thanks for amazon's suggestions to me to add my amazon books here.
I remember reading this story of Varun and Priyanka and about joint family stuff. I had mixed feelings when I started this book but by the ending I loved it.
This is the second book written by Kavita Bhatnagar who is an Indian Revenue Service Officer and has struck the right chord with this novel. When I say this, I mean it because after I finished reading this book, I felt that this book would be a perfect companion and guide for all who want to start a family and the ones who are already married but finding it difficult to cope up with it.
The story revolves around Priyanka and Varun predominantly in the beginning and later Alka and Jagat join them who were none other than the parents of Varun. Priyanka was from a middle-class family and Shikha was her sister. When her parents maintained a decent lifestyle, Sapna gets added to them. Sapna's parents pass away in an accident and the burden of taking care of her falls on Priyanka's parents - Sanjay and Mamta, for being the closest relative. They welcome Sapna warmly and start treating her as their own family member.
The life of Priyanka during her school and college days was vividly explained by the author which is more realistic. It wouldn't be a surprise, if this story could connect you to your past because in one way or the other, you, irrespective of your gender, would have faced this situation, at least once. It may be your first love, your first kiss, your first proposal, your first dating, and so on and so forth. Dev and Anand were the crushes of Priyanka. She wasn't fair and beautiful as her sister Shikha but carried her forward with the temperament which was liked by Varun who decides to get married to her. Yes. It was an arranged marriage.
From here, the story gets interesting. The situation that arises in the in-law's house that has to be faced by the newlywed bride is explained so beautifully. I must admit here that husbands like us were in a catch-22 situation wherein we are struck between the Mother and Spouse, not knowing who to support, in case of a dispute. This even leads to Divorce. Did Varun and Priyanka got separated? Read this appealing perfect family novel which teaches many aspects, the most important being, the importance of being in a joint family. My pranams to the author for penning such a wonderful novel which will appeal to all and I am really glad to have had the opportunity to rea this well-scripted story.
📍At the beginning of this story, we see Priyanka who belongs to a middle-class family. Like other ordinary girls, Priyanka has many dreams in her life. She hopes for financial and living independence. Although there is very little financial solvency , still Priyanka's father offered her a good life with strong values and respect. Being in a middle-class family, she has had to compromise and adjust a lot in her life. But Priyanka has always dreamed that one day she will lead a luxurious life. And that's why Priyanka's idea about marriage is so different.
📍She desperately wants to marry someone who will be a perfect lover for her and will also offer her a life, full of dreams. In the midst of all this, Priyanka meets Varun. Varun is a suitable husband material from all aspects, and his family is quite settled. In the hope of a compatible and happy life, Priyanka got married to Varun. Initial days of their marriage were as dreaming as any other girl would imagine, but the problem starts from the day after their honeymoon. What exactly are the problems in Priyanka's life? Or is Varun actually a suitable husband and how will Priyanka be able to adjust in her new conservative family? These questions also came to my mind while reading the book. But then comes a plot in this book that completely change the whole story. To find out what, keep reading the book.
💫My Thoughts about the book 💫 I must say that, the author has done a great job in this book in terms of writing. Each plot is well planned and very nicely written and will force you to read one page after another. This book is a good option for beginners as it's a very easy read and interesting too.I personally love to read light fiction stories and this is definitely one of them. One time read , but a page turner. You will enjoy it thoroughly.

Life is full of surprises and staggering reveals, and one might not always get what they want, but it has been observed that if we don't give up and keep looking, we might find what we actually need.
Sometimes not getting what we want can be the stroke of fate and destiny has something better planned for us than what we have anticipated.
In the book, ‘Love Unlocked’ by author Kavita Bhatnagar, we see how our main female protagonist, Priyanka has high dreams in regards to how her life partner should be and is somewhat disappointed when she is married to Varun.
They say that when two individuals get married, they not only just marry each other, but they are also married to the family.
And no matter how much they try to prove that it is just about them, they can not separate the spouse from the family that they come from.
We see this reality come true when we read about just how much of a major impact Varun’s parents have on his relationship with Priyanka and how it starts creating a rift between them over the course of time.
I felt like the main female lead came out as extremely selfish and materialistic in the beginning, though by the end of the book, she did somewhat redeemed herself when she realized and understood to give importance to what really mattered.
At some places, Varun was also at fault since he demanded that his wife completely get attuned with his parents, but when it came to reciprocate with her family, he did not quite take a stand.
This was indeed a very entertaining and enjoyable book to read that showed wonderfully how family dynamics can affect a couple, hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Love Unlocked" by Kavita Bhatnagar is a simple and sleek love story depicting every other girls expectations, hope and desire. The story revolves around Priyanka and Varun. Priyanka the female protagonist of the story belongs to a middle class family and like every other girl has big dreams. Among the two sisters she is the one who is not much into studies but as she gets into college she is introduced to a different world and tries hard to fit into that world. Will it be worth? Will it be good to follow the rat race? All these questions will be answered in the book further.
Every dad's motive is to find a perfect partner for their daughter. Sanjay, Priyanka's father wished the same for his daughter. The most exhilarating thing about this book is that it represents the realistic elements of a normal middle class family. Amidst the roller-coaster ride of Priyanka's college life her father arranged a meeting with Varun, a simple, hardworking and loving guy; who is totally opposite to Priyanka. How will they settle together? Will it be a good decision?
The book is all about these questions. How two personalities come together and forms a beautiful bond. These days it's common to read love stories in which two characters fall in love during college or before marriage but this story is about how two individual found love and fall for each other after marriage. How life changes after marriage and what different issues occur but every thing can be perfect if you find a cooperating partner and family. Written in a simple language the book is perfect for beginners. Also the book cover is super cute.
Young and dreamy, Priyanka wants to break free from her middle class life to live in the lap of luxury. She is longing for a partner who can pamper her by giving a comfortable life. Sincere and practical, Varun is looking for a companion who can accept and embrace his family. Together with her, he wants to walk towards a better life. Their marriage becomes a pathway for them to realize their dreams. But their happiness is short-lived as adjustment issues crop up. Will she be able to adapt to her new life without losing her identity? Will a critical twist of fate bring them together? Love Unlocked is an enchanting story which reinforces the power of family and enduring relationships. It is a captivating take on finding a balance between.

The romantic tale of Priyanka and Varun. Love Unlocked" by Kavita Bhatnagar is a beautiful modern romantic tale. Here the author portrays the theme of love, companionship, romance, intimacy, and hussle. Moreover, it's a complete package of emotions and engaging twists. The protagonist, Priyanka is an adamant person who has been very expressive and supported by her parents for all of her actions. But marriage gave rise to a startling turn in her life.
In this amazing rollercoaster journey of companionship and bonding lies one important factor which is understanding. Every character portrayed in the story has its role play. This book has been like a feel-good-feel-emotional kind of a read for me. The characters were realistic and adorable. Language is simple and lucid, you will never regret for picking this book for sure.

“No two days can be same and similarly no two persons can be alike. If we remember this, then automatically our expectations will reduce and not bring in anguish.”
📌𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸: This is the story of Priyanka, an ambitious and independent girl. She is longing for a partner who can pamper her by giving a comfortable life. On the other hand, Varun is a simple and honest guy who does his job with full dedication and hard work. He respect his parents and always follows their decisions.
Priyanka and Varun married together. Priyanka's behavior changes a lot after marriage. She has to take permission for everything, she does not get the right to take any decision on her own. Her parents had given her complete freedom to do whatever she wanted. But here she does not get anything like that, she feels herself bound.
So what happened to her that changed her from being selfish and self-centred to a selfless and caring person? To know this you have to read this book yourself.
📌𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲: This book contains a realistic story, to which every normal girl can relate her life with. This story is a quite good take on finding a balance between desires and duties of life. The novel clearly emphasize on the importance of family & relationships, but with a twist.

Love Unlocked by Kavita Bhatnagar is a contemporary fiction story that depicts married life, love, family drama, and the never-ending quest of finding happiness with each other.
The story revolves around Priyanka and Varun. Priyanka is a young and dreamy girl from an open-minded middle-class family. She has a dream of living her life with love and comfort. Varun is a practical and hardworking person looking forward to living his life with love and family. What happens when both these different people get together in holy matrimony. Will she be able to adapt to a conservative family? Will they be able to accept her for who she is? What will happen to their marriage? What future and uncertain times are ahead for them?
The language is pretty lucid and fast-paced and narration and small chapters help you get through the book quite fast. The main storyline started with Priyanka having a flashback of her in college and proceeds further with her college life, marriage, family drama, heartbreak, and unlocking of love in their life.
If I am being honest I didn't like Priyanka's character in many parts. Whether it was hiding her true self before marriage or being rigid like a teenager. The same goes with Varun's character, instead of assuming about her, he should have told her expectations about marriage before. Marriage is an institution that needs adjustment. If both sides aren't willing to adjust their lifestyle to accommodate each other, it's going to be a slippery journey throughout.
I liked how Priyanka's character was able to find love within without destroying her whole personality. I wish it hadn't come from guilt and fear though. The ending was rather sweet with the whole family being there for each other. The whole plot felt like reading a Hindi TV drama. If you enjoy watching those, you will enjoy this.
Fiction these days has transformed to a vast extent and the imagination is par excellence. The majority of fictional work now seems relatable and leaves with a mark of sensing relevancy. The stories are crafted in a way the people often tend to craft out a narrative from their own experience, and start enjoying the read as if someone donated words to their suppressed feelings. Life is always uncertain about what and how it has to be, likely what it is all about in reality is too different to one's thoughts and dreams. The plot centres Priyanka, who is too optimistic about her life goals and has caring and supportive parents who never took away her liberty to explore the life, which she enjoyed absolutely. She is an excited young teen who is about to start her college life and has a bucket list of wishes that she wants to fulfill. Later in her life, the decision and things that change her life go upside down, of her meeting with Varun, whom her family wants her to get engaged to and marry eventually. The story is too realistic that one while reading would surely come across one such instance, where the reader would surely feel alike. The book adds flavour, typically household melodrama, repairing the bonds and so on, the drama was not greatly intriguing but was manageable somewhat. Overall, it was a great reading experience.
📍 This book starts with a little talk between Priyanka and her husband- Varun, while she applies anti wrinkle cream around her eyes.
📍 Then starts the story of Priyanka growing up. She grew up in a middle class family in Mumbai.
📍 While being a middle class person, and being a daughter's father, her father rarely put any restrictions on his daughters, he wanted to make them strong and independent.
📍 Priyanka had a sister Shikha, three years younger than her. While Priyanka was very average in studies, Shikha excelled in academics.
📍 As they entered her teens, Priyanka often found herself feeling jealous of Shikha, as Shikha was better looking, better in studies and many other different things.
📍 Would she find someone who will like her as she is, who would find her as beautiful as she really is? Where and when did she find Varun?
📍 This book contains a realistic story, to which every normal girl can relate her life with. This story is a quite good take on finding a balance between desires and duties of life.
📍 You can find love in many unexpected ways but this story will tell you that love can find you in an unexpected way as well.

The plot was great. All the characters were strongly presented and well-built. . Overall, a great read and will definitely recommend. .
This is a beautiful tale of an arranged marriage. I often think that how I would be able to cope up with a complete new family and make myself and them happy. I have the same thought process which the protagonist went through.
Priyanka had got all the freedom in her parents home though it was in restricted manner but her in-laws were different. As like many arranged marriages, many things were not clarified earlier and things became nasty soon. Then just like covid, author has mentioned about other virus having same impact on the people. And Priyanka's thought process changed. She handled everything well and managed to keep the family happy including herself.
The author has mentioned the journey of a girl from a college student to a matured daughter in law very beautifully. Every financial independent girl is in a dilemma how to adjust in a new home with new people. It's just that we need to consider the new people as our own and everything happens in its own way. I could connect with the protagonist very well.
For any girl starting her married life especially for an arranged marriage in Indian society, this is a must read. The language is lucid. The writing style is simple yet effective. Recommended to contemporary fiction readers!
A simple and sweet story of Priyanka and Varun. The story starts with the protagonists talking in the present and then goes on to the past life of Priyanka, her growing years, her inhibitions for her body, her self-image, her jealousy for her sister Dikha and many of the common problems that teenagers go through. She then joins college with high aspirations of enjoying life to the most until something makes her think otherwise. She decides to focus more on her career. There comes a part when her parents decide an arranged meeting for her with Varun, for marriage. Varun is what is called the contrast opposite of Priyanka in every way. He is particular and has his life sorted. He has a deep sense of respect for his family. The combo of these too makes both of their lives change drastically with both of them changing for the better. Priyanka finds herself accepting her body image, her insecurities, her family bonding and learning many things from Varun. The language is simple and easy to understand. The way the character building is shown is admirable and very interesting to read. The story is fast paced and won't bore the reader for even a minute. The cover is beautiful and the title is catchy. A must read.
The book ‘Love Unlocked’ written by author Kavita Bhatnagar is a contemporary romance, based mainly on the romantic life of the protagonist Priyanka. The book starts off with a chapter introducing Priyanka and her loving husband Varun to the readers, through their dialogue. It gives us a fair idea of her present life, which seems to be quite happy and fulfilled. The story goes on to give us glimpses of her young adult life, excerpts from her college life and her efforts to get a boyfriend. Failing in her efforts, she decided to focus on her career and the other aspects fell into places. Her parents were quite strict but she did not let them tie her down. She went on to explore many aspects of her life on her own and learnt lessons which no one but life could teach her. My favourite character in this book has been Anand. His demeanour and determination towards his goals are admirable. He did not let Priyanka’s wooing bother him, no matter how hard she tried. The plotline is so relatable; it makes the whole book so much more relatable to us readers. The book has been written in lucid and easily digestible language, with amazing character development and background layout. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, fun read.

Lockdown was hard for everyone if us, wasn't it? But everyone of us went through lots of changes during that time, we got time to live our passion, our hobbies, we got more time for our family, our friends and relationships.
Love unlocked is a story of a newlywed couple and how their life changed immediately after marriage and especially for Priyanka, the bride. It was an arrange marriage, Priyanka found many difficulties to adjust in the new environment while her in-laws were expecting her to adapt everything quickly, time passed but nothing changed. Suddenly a deadly virus outbreaks and changes everyone's life. This changed Priyanka's life completely, to know how her life and perspective changed, read the book.
The book is very intriguing to me. It narrated how a newly wed bride can create have lots of issues in adjustments and how in-laws who can't change their old habits suddenly but with support and understanding it can be done easily. All we need is a clear and positive perspective. This book gave a new perspective about arrange marriages.
Marriage is an institution where two souls come together, finds them on the same page in most cases and tries to complement each other wherever possible. It is particularly difficult for a woman to enter in a stranger's family and spend rest of her life with him.
The story revolves around Priyanka and how her life changes after marriage. It was an arrange setup and she was not mentally open and ready for taking up responsibility that comes with it . She was a carefree individual and just wanted someone who will pamper her. The first few days were just like how she envisioned but soon it starts losing the sheen and lusture for her despite her husband Varun being close to an ideal life partner.
The book is written well and encompasses the journey of a female from being a young girl to becoming a daughter in law. Also how with mutual understanding and proper communication one can actually live a life full of content is nicely presented. The cover is creative . Though at some places it felt like a bit of exaggeration to portray character's transformative journey.
BOOK REVIEW BOOK - " LOVE UNLOCKED " AUTHOR - " KAVITA BHATNAGAR " GENRE- " FICTION, DRAMA "
I have been wanting to read this book ever since I saw the catchy cover page. It was a refreshing story like the colors and reflected on Indian society.
The protagonist of the book - Priyanka is a Kindred soul. Love being independent and doing things her own way. The author has given a vivid description about her school life, her first love, her crushes Anand and Dev, first kiss and more. I throughly enjoyed this part as it made me reminisce my own teenage days.
Priyanka ails from a middle class family. She has a sister Shika and a cousin Sapna. The family bond is shown well. But the strong headed Priyanka had to settle down for a arranged marriage. Varun liked her free spirit. All seems to fine but covid happens.
Priyanka having ambitions of her own struggles to meet the expectations of her inlaws, her husband and herself. She has her dreams and ambitions. On top of all this, covid claustrophobed them in between four walls.
Will Varun and Priyanka's marriage survive the struggle ?
Or
Will they decide to separate ?
A sweet and sour reminder of the familial bonds in the Indian society with covid as a catalyst. A good weekend read.Well scripted.
The story revolves around Priyanka and Varun and the total indian drama of love, relationship, teenage, college life, family drama which will our young generation will connect instantly.
Priyanka being a happy girl never really protested by her parents and had a very enjoyable life. Like any other girl, priyanka had her own dreams to fulfill but as a teenager her insecurity of not being beautiful and attractive and always jealous of her younger sister, ambitious, dream of having a loving wealthy family is a basic intention of any girl. Priyanka also had same dreams but Varun being Varun. Smart and shy boy. A mature boy varun and a naughty girl priyanka? How will they vibe with each other? How will priyanka adjust with varun? Will she manage with her arranged marriage with Varun?
The story is not only a cute love story bit a reality check for our youngsters. The jealousy between teenagers, how to managae relationships, bind with family and adjyst with the new circumstances, basically a package of drama what happens in indian families also the hint of the pandemic gives a real touch to the story. An enjoyable read to Chreish College life, relationships and drama.
This is a heartwarming story about two people in search of perfect partners. Priyanka, a dreamy independent girl wants someone who will pamper her by giving her all the luxuries in the world. Varun, is a simple hardworking guy, who wants a partner who will embrace and love his family like her own. Marriage brings them together.
Can two totally opposite people be in love? Will they be able to lead a happy life? Will their dreams come true?
Love unlocked is a modern day love story that any normal girl can relate to. It shows the ups and downs of married life. It emphasizes the importance and value of family and relationships and how one needs to find a balance between desires and duties.
A fun and exciting read, the book is quite a page-turner. The way all the characters were built up was amazing. It made you relate with them even more. The narration is quite engaging and keeps you hooked from the start till the end. It is a beautifully woven story written in a very lucid and crisp way. I enjoyed the book a lot and would highly recommend this book.
Love Unlocked is the story of Priyanka and Varun and how their story began. We are taken back in time where we are introduced to their younger selves. Both are poles apart from each other and come from really different worlds. However, at the core of it all, they somehow had the same value system. How their world mingle forms the story. It was a light read with many realities touched upon. I liked how our author, Kavita Bhatnagar, has talked about the insecurities a person goes through. Her take on relationships also attracted me. I liked the contemporary-ness of the story and the way it presented a somewhat accurate picture of today's youth. However, I did not like Priyanka's character much. I found her way too cunning and conceited but insecure, for my taste. I liked Varun's demeanour and composure. Personally, he was quite what dreams are made of. All in all, it was a pleasant that time I spent with the book. Anybody looking for some pleasurable leisure, can go for this. Happy reading!
It's a story about a girl name Priyanka she had just turn 40 and she was conscious about maintaining her youth . She used to wear spectacles. She did not consider herself to be pretty. Priyanaka wants to break free from her middle class life to live in the lap of luxury she is login for a partner who can pamper her by giving a comfortable life. And here varun is looking for a companion who can accept and embrace his family. Together with her, he wants to talk towards a better life
The author has mentioned the journey of a girl from a college student to a matured daughter in law very beautifully. Every financial independent girl is in a dilemma how to adjust in a new home with new people. It's just that we need to consider the new people as our own and everything happens in its own way.
