The Royal Bastards Liverpool chapter will return with Into the Dark.
Marleigh
One night was enough to change my life. I was taken, plucked out of my life and forced into hell. Gaining my freedom didn’t unshackle the chains around me. It made them tighten. I’m fuelled by my need to avenge the wrongs done to me and those I was forced to leave behind. I’ll stop at nothing to achieve that. I don’t need a brave knight riding a motorcycle and wearing leather to save me. He doesn’t agree. He thinks I’m a damsel in distress, but I’m focused on my task—destroying the man who ripped my world apart.
Machete
Marleigh needs to realise I’m not walking away and leaving her to face these demons alone. This fight is mine as much as it’s hers. We’ve been tracking the men who are operating in our city without our permission and we’re ready to bring them down. We’ll stop at nothing to return safety to our streets, but Marleigh seems determined to get in my way at every turn. She needs to back off before she gets hurt. She’s under my skin and as much as I want to deny it, I want to claim her as mine. The problem is she’s walking into danger and I’m not sure if I can save her.
*Warning : Contains dark emotional scenes that may trigger some readers.
Sweet baby Jesus!! I thought I was prepared for Machete's story but my days, I was not! I was pulled in from the first page and I could not put it down. Marleigh has been through something nobody should ever go through. But she survived, barely. Now she is determined to bring those responsible, down. And this is where she crossed paths with Machete. He cannot begin to explain the need he has to protect Marleigh, whilst it seems they are after the same people. This book has taken me on a roller coaster of emotions! And I wouldn't have it any other way. What a read. Love this Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC and I love this author!
3.75 stars--INTO THE DARK is the third instalment in Jessica Ames’ ROYAL B*ASTARDS MC, LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND dark, erotic, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored RBMC series. This is Marleigh, and Blake aka Machete’s story line. INTO THE DARK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise , there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from three first person perspectives (Marleigh, Machete, Pretty Boy) INTO THE DARK continues to focus on the search and take down of a human trafficking ring in Liverpool, England. Three months earlier Marleigh and her best friend Ellie were abducted and trafficked by a powerful Russian oligarch but Marleigh escaped, and has spent the last few months placing herself in the direct line of fire, hoping to find where her best friend was taken but Marleigh will find herself reluctantly working with the Royal B*stards, and the Royal Harlots MC, in an effort to take down the man in charge. All does not go according to plan when the RBMC discover the Liverpool Port is but a small part of a global chain of human trafficking. What ensues is the building relationship between Marleigh and Machete, and the potential fall-out as Marleigh once again finds herself in a precarious position, with both her life and the life of Machete, hanging in the balance.
The relationship between Marleigh and Machete is one of immediate attraction but Marleigh’s only goal is to locate her friend, and bring her home. Machete suspects her friend may no longer be alive but Marleigh isn’t willing to give up until she uncovers the truth. As the relationship develops, Marleigh continues to place herself in danger, working with the Russian oligarch currently in charge. The $ex scenes between our leading couple are limited but passionate.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including RBMC: Liverpool president Mouth and his old lady, gang leader Genevieve (Into the Flames 1), as well as the president of the Royal Harlots Angel, and her boyfriend Joel (Into the Fire 2), and Angel’s brother Pretty Boy.
INTO THE DARK is another dark and gritty story of power and control, danger and death, trafficking and abuse, acceptance and love. The premise is raw; the romance is limited; the characters are numerous, struggling, powerful and determined. INTO THE DARK ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
Best one so far by this author in the RBMC. It was a good book and I could understand what was going on There's still loose ends to tie up and maybe they will in the next book.
This is Blake, "Machete" and Marleigh's book. This is also back to Black Railroad with all the women being trafficked. Some people are new to what's going on and some are inside trying to get information....
See who is who and who is trust worthy. There's some triggers because it describes in some detail of what happened.
Wow well this is the story of Marleigh and Machete and is the third book in the Royal Bastards MC series. As the stories and characters are interconnected I would suggest that you do read the previous books as there is a common thread and characters running through them.
Jessica Ames does write quite dark stories and it’s fair to say this book is definitely not for the faint of heart. This book has very dark subject matter that cover topics that are hard to read at times showing the very worst of humanity. This book does not shy away from the psychological and emotional toll the events can have on a person but it also shows the lengths a person will go to get justice and help a friend even if it put them in quite a dangerous situations. This is a powerful story that’s does have quite spicy content but it’s not all hearts and flowers and it’s fair to say just like all her previous stories I could not put it down.
Who would’ve thought a night out with her best friend would have such a devastating impact on Marleigh and such tragic consequences for Ellie. What they experienced was just horrific but the book also highlights the resilience and the reserves a person has to draw on to get through this. To not only survive the worst humanity has to throw at you but to actually put yourself right back in the lions den. Marleigh was such a strong character she’s dealing (or not) with her own trauma while placing herself right at the heart of the ring to try and find her friend and get justice. She’s been on her own for so long you just really felt for her…who does she trust and how can she keep herself safe. Marleigh has been playing her role for so long it’s a miracle she hasn’t been caught out yet. But her luck is bound to run out so who can she trust and can she see justice prevail.
Machete (Blake) and his brothers from the MC run their patch of Liverpool and keep a tight rein on their territory. Although they are ruthless and have no problem working on the wrong side of the law there are certain lines they absolutely will not cross. To find out a trafficking ring is operating in their area well the brothers will stop at nothing to eradicate this.
Machete and Marleigh meet in unexpected circumstances but although both have their own agenda they are drawn to each other. The chemistry between them is electric and despite all that Marleigh has been through it’s Machete she seeks out when everything hits the fan. I loved how protective Machete is despite his big growly persona. He’s a mountain of a man to everyone else but to Marleigh although she’s only just getting to know him he’s her sanctuary. His priority has always been his brothers and his Club but now there’s Marleigh who without even knowing her is the other half of him.
There is one central theme running through this book with the characters either individually or together working to dismantle a trafficking ring. This was one white knuckle book that kept you hooked from the go. The storytelling just drew you in and the writing was quite powerful as the picture the author drew was just so realistic. This was quite a complex story with well rounded characters, the resilience and fortitude particularly Marleigh’s character was quite powerfully portrayed. But the story also gave an insight into the brotherhood within the MC and the lengths they will go to to seek retribution and mete out their own brand of justice.
Whilst there was some resolution for Marleigh and Machete this storyline is set to run. As with the previous book there is a continuing thread through future books so not everything was neatly wrapped up. But that’s ok as you are so invested in the books each one builds on the story so far. All in all this was one rollercoaster read that keeps you on edge throughout. You don’t know what’s coming next and how things will be resolved so this story definitely keeps you on your toes. Be warned this story can be very triggering the material in this book is very raw at times but it does aid the overall story. The subject matter was hard but I did not feel it was gratuitous rather it enhanced the book as felt so real. This was one emotional and at times uncomfortable read but I could not put the book down.

Wow! Phenomenal is an understatement for this book! I was blown away and just could not put it down! This fast paced and action packed book is wonderfully written with amazingly strong characters and an incredible storyline that is raw, gritty, gut wrenching and emotionally intense. Machete and Marleigh took me on a journey with loads of action, suspense, danger, violence, vengeance, gut wrenching cruelty and so much more kept me riveted to my seat, flipping the pages to see how it was all resolved. Marleigh, I absolutely loved your strength and fierceness. 😊 Machete, well only the woman who captures your heart can bring out your softer side 😊 Highly recommended to anyone who likes a good page turner.

Marleigh and her friend Ellie are at a club when they are abducted, they are brutally raped by their captors. They are chained up and to be auctioned off. Marleigh catches a break when the car she is riding in to her new home is in an accident. She gets away determined to find Ellie. She is working on bringing one of the guys down when she sees him.
Machete is scoping out a club with one of his brothers, when he sees her. He knows she is in the company of that scum, can she really be into him? He eventually finds out she is trying to bring the guy down and find her friend. He does not want to scare her off but she will be his ole lady soon. First he has to keep her out of danger that is coming for her.

Into The dark by Jessica Ames. Book 2 of Royal Bastards MC: Liverpool, England. Marleigh One night was enough to change my life. I was taken, plucked out of my life and forced into hell. Loved Machete and Marleigh. Looking forward to the next book. 5*.
This is a seriously good book, really good. Be warned though it is a pretty dark storyline and it is a bit upsetting at times especially when you know what Marleigh goes through and then there’s the trauma Prettyboy is also dealing with. I liked the fact it was almost all story with steamy scenes at the end, it makes a change to have the story take priority. I do have one complaint though, Marleigh is English and so she would say things in the English way. We say windscreen not windshield and it’s the River Mersey not the Mersey River. I know it will seem silly but it’s annoying when these things aren’t right. Having said that it was only a couple of words unlike other books I’ve read and while annoying, didn’t spoil the book for me. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one.

This author put it all out there again giving triggers for some and darkness and drama for others that makes this a one sit read. Human trafficking is front and center yet again with the RBMC Liverpool. Marleigh and Ellie were taken from a bar and sold to the highest bidder but Marleigh was able to escape and she wants not only to find her friend but she had sworn vengeance on the man who was at the head of this ring…the very same man that the RBMC wanted to take down as well.
That is how Marleigh and Machete met and now they will stop at nothing to put a stop with Marleigh putting herself in harms way to do so. I loved the connection between these two and the drama and suspense made this a huge page turner. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.
A wonderfully dark story, if you like dark and action then this is a book you should read. This is the story of Machete and Marleigh. Marleigh is fast for revenge after being kidnapped from a club and drugged and already on her way for human trafficking. And that's how she meets Machete because he and his club are investigating the ones who operate in their area and thus create bad blood. There are some triggers and action, some violence, romance, betrayal and the power of healing. I do recommend that you read the notification about triggers carefully, if you think the book has too many triggers for you, then I advise you not to read this book, otherwise it is recommended.

If you take nothing else from my review- take this: this read is very dark, with psychologically difficult topics, that is terribly hard to put down!
There are several themes in this one that are engaging, and terrifyingly realistic. Several times, I stepped away from this read, as the imagery in the pages made me super emotional. I realized my heart was racing after the first few chapters! After taking a little break, I started again with this roller coaster ride.
Marleigh and Ellie's horrific situation was written so well that it was tough to disconnect from this story. Machete and the guys of the Royal Bastards MC-Liverpool have a huge problem in their territory that brings Marleigh into their world.
The connection between Marleigh and Machete (Blake) is great. I appreciate how this author allows the reader to become invested in their situation. The twists and turns in this one kept me on the edge of my seat. I was certainly invested in these characters and their drama.
This is NOT for sensitive readers. This has so much danger, abuse, violence and cruelty that I suggest being mentally prepared for the story. The characters are amazing and the MC brotherhood is fantastic. The writing is extremely suspenseful and addictive, so much so that even when I wanted to put it down, I had a hard time doing it!
You may not believe it 😉 (from the above comments) but I really enjoyed this read. This author consistently provides engaging and creative writing that elicits a great many emotions. As much as this book made me super uncomfortable, it also was a very good read.
I recommend reading the Royal Harlots MC RBMC Anthology prior to this, as there are interconnected story lines in this one. So much drama and tragic surprises in this one...and a great HEA for Blake and Marleigh.
But it is ANYTHING but over!! I cannot wait for the next part of this series!!
I received my ARC from Booksprout and I am glad to leave my review.

Into The Dark, wow what a book it was a brilliant read from start to finish. I was so intrigued from beginning to end and it led to me having a late night. Jessica Ames, what an amazing author she is and the books she writing are out of this world amazing.
This is Book 2 of Royal Bastards MC: Liverpool, England story for Marleigh and Machete. This one will have your heart breaking for all the women that the traffickers take and sell off, But Marleigh will give you hope and Machete will give her the strength to keep finding that hope and learn to heal and love again. I can not wait to see what the next book holds in store for this MC and their other charters. This one is full of terror and danger but the men of the MC will go to war for their family. I loved the way Marleigh has to be strong and brave in the face of her nightmares.

This is a dark MC romance. You will need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. This is the story of Marleigh and Machete and holy cow what a story it is. There is a trafficking ring in the Liverpool England and the Royal Bastards are not going to allow that to happen. Marleigh and her best friend Ellie were abducted three months earlier and while she escaped Ellie did not. The Russian oligarch is not to messed with. But Marleigh is angry and more than determined to bring them down but keeps putting herself in a direct line of fire to find out where Ellie is. However Machete and the rest of the MC have been watching this ring for a while and they are well aware that they have to be taken down. But he sure as heck is not going to let Marleigh do it. I loved Marleigh. She is a young woman on a mission and you really have to admire her fire and passion. Machete is amazing and I really loved him too. But what will happen when they find themselves in a precarious situation with both of their lives hanging in the balance. Well, you have to read and find out. These books have been so amazing and Into the Dark is equally as good as any of the ones you have read. You do not want to miss this book.
A night out on the town with her best friend turns into a nightmare for Marleigh and Ellie. Marleigh wants to be strong, but the circumstances surrounding her make it hard. Ellie is the strong one this time. While Marleigh finds her way free, she won’t rest until she can find Ellie and make sure that she is free too. The trouble is that it’s taking too long to find her and after two years, Marleigh is getting tired and frustrated. She’s put herself in a dangerous position, and when Machete offers to help her, she’s not sure she can trust him, it’s been too long since she’s had anyone she could trust.
Machete and his brothers have been looking for those in the skin trade and have a lead. When they walk into the Russian owned night club looking for information, they aren’t there very long before they’re escorted to the owner’s office. Andrei Petrov is only the tip of the iceberg that the RBMC will have to deal with. When the Liverpool Chapter calls the National Chapter and speaks with Jameson, they find out that they aren’t the only ones dealing with ridding their city of these bottom feeders.
I love the RBMC books and all of the chapter’s interconnect, but carry their own stories, characters, and dangers. I love the characters and the stories in this chapter as much as I do the other chapters. Machete and Marleigh have to learn to trust and lean on each other if they are going to come out on top and Machete knows that he will do anything to help Marleigh as well as protect her. I would suggest that reading the books in order will be beneficial as the stories interconnect and are easier to follow after reading the prior book. I give this book a 4-star review and look forward to more RBMC books to come.
HOLY HELL THIS STORY DID MY HEART IN! Marleigh & her besties were out one night when their life turned into a very horrible nightmare, and I was devastated for her. She managed to escape, but her bestie did not so she's going to do whatever it takes to bring those responsible down, and to find said bestie. Enter Machete, the VP of his MC chapter, who is also on the same journey to take that evil down as it's become a real issue for his MC, not to mention the girls disappearing like crazy. This is how these two meet, and instantly, he wants to protect this strong girl with haunted eyes. As both get closer, they finally team up & it's quite the ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. It doesn't help that Marleigh has been toying with a brutal man who doesn't take betrayal lightly so she's in a great deal of danger when he catches on to her activities. Can Machete keep her safe?! Will she be able to find her bestie?! I'm telling you this is a chaotic ride with intense emotional undertones that really messed with my heart. To see how it all plays out, you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Marleigh has been through a harrowing experience and is now set to find her best friend and take down everyone who has wronged her. While she has nightmares of her experience, she is also a tough cookie who has slowly learned to overcome some of the hurt and pain. She puts herself in danger so that others do not have to go through the same things she did. My heart aches for her, and throughout the story I rooted for her to get her vengeance.
Machete is a teddy bear when it comes to Marleigh. He she’s the fight in her but also learns what she’s been through. His priority is to keep her safe and he doesn’t push her to do anything that could harm her. As the VP of the MC, he also watched out for his brothers and knows he can’t go in guns ablazing to help Marleigh.
I thought there was a lot of suspense and action to keep the story moving plus a rollercoaster of emotions. I can’t wait for the next installment.

This is Machete (Blake) and Marleigh’s book. This is a newer chapter for the RBMC Series but boy does it pull a punch! There are many dark themes explored in the book and if you have triggers, you may want to check out the warnings before starting this journey. There’s not a whole lot of romance or heat, but the story is phenomenal that I didn’t really notice until I was thinking about writing this review. I haven’t looked at what's next but am dying to know and get into the story of Pretty Boy. His life is intersected quite a bit throughout this book and my interest is piqued.
Marleigh is a strong female character who has had to overcome a massive amount of trauma. I love how this author did not gloss over that or make it all better when Machete comes into the picture for her. Together, the two make an incredible couple and because of how this author brings other characters into each storyline, I know we will hear more about this couple in the future!!!

Into the dark (Royal bastard Mc: Liverpool, England 2)
This is the second book in this series by this author. This is the story of Marleigh and Machete, these two characters are just perfect for each other and have amazing chemistry between them from the start. These books can be read as a stand alone but you will appreciate the bigger picture if you read all the books in the series. This book is filled to bursting with action, suspense, drama, and passion. This book just sucks you into the pages from the first one. This story has an amazing storyline that is gritty, raw, and emotionally intense through out. This is an amazing addition to this series.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review
Excellent read. The trafficking ring that has the RBMC’s around the world on high alert has hit Liverpool and this chapter isn’t taking it lying down. Especially after some of their own members were affected (Prior book - sorry no spoilers here). As for Into the Dark, this storyline was amazing. I offer a warning that it may have triggers for some, be sure to check out the warnings, but please know the author handled them excellently.
Marleigh and her bestie only wanted a fun night out. Do a little dancing, have a few drinks and just let loose. What they didn’t expect was to wake up caged and living in a nightmare. With a twist in fate, Marleigh manages to escape. Her one goal - to find her bestie. What she doesn’t expect is a bossy, sexy, overbearing biker to get in her way.
This is a great read that you don’t want to miss. It’s an outstanding addition to the Liverpool RBMC series.
This book was so intense from the start. Marleigh's backstory is one where a night of fun turns into a lifetime nightmare. Marleigh doesn't just want vengeance, she wants answers to. In order to do that she puts herself in harms way. Machete, on the other hand, is trying to figure out what more he can do to help a healing brother (who may be too far gone to help). Machete and Marleigh's story collide and it takes time and trust for them to work as a team. I love that Machete is honest with Marleigh and doesn't play games. It may frustrate her, but deep down she knows he may be right.
The final chapter, without spoiling the book, brings out the feels. I cannot wait to see where the Liverpool chapter takes us next.

Raw and exhilarating! With the third book in the Royal Bastards MC: Liverpool, England series we dive into the heart of the trafficking ring as the guys jump in to aid shutting it down. The characters are intense and easy to connect with. I feel like a lot was left hanging and felt a bit incomplete, but I enjoyed Marleigh and Blake and their resolution. Looking forward to more to come in the series.
Marleigh tugged at my heartstrings immediately and is easy to like and understand her heartache. She never expected to feel anything for a man again, but Blake is special.
Machete is tough and intense, but Marleigh brings out a soft side of him that no one has ever seen before.
I recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that likes a tough and gritty MC series that takes on intense topics and weaves characters into our heart left and right.
A night out in Liverpool turns sinister when Marleigh and her friend Ellie are kidnapped. Whilst been held captive they are abused and then sold to the highest bidder. When Marleigh manages to escape but Ellie doesn't she make it her mission to bring these men down and find her friend, even if it means putting herself in danger once more. Machete is the VP of the Royal Bastards MC they know a trafficking ring is operating in their city and are determined to do all they can to bring it down. Its not going to be easy especially when Machete meets Marleigh and wants to claim her as his. He knows she's in danger but will he be able to save her.
Another fab read from Jessa Ames this is book 3 in this series. It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the two previous book first.
This has been an intriguing, complex, and suspenseful series that will hook you from the beginning. I like how it includes all three organizations working together to fight against the worst kind of evil. (If only that could happen in real life!) It's certainly not a series that you'll want to miss. As much as I've enjoyed the series, I do wish that there would be more about the characters themselves, mainly the heroes. The stories are mostly about the heroine's and the conflicts going on, but there's little about the men. I would love it if the stories were longer as well, but that's just my preference. Lol! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
I would love to see more stories in the series without having to wait for the official scheduled releases for all of the RBMC series. Again, JMO!
Marleigh and her bestie, Ellie only wanted a fun night out, do some dancing, have a few drinks and just let loose. What Happened next, was they wake up caged and living in a trafficking nightmare. Marleigh escapes, but her friend does not and she is determined to rescue her, but she never expected the biker Machete. All the RBMC chapters have been watching this trafficking ring in hopes of bringing them down, but when Machete sees Marleigh in the line of fire, he acts. These two are sizzling together, these characters are well written, and the story fast paced. Steamy, action paced, twisted turns, drama, and more. An awesome addition to RBMC collections, and this title as well as all the other books in this series are available to read for free with your Kindle Unlimited subscription.

A great addition to the series this book gets very into the darkness before emerging into something resembling light.
Marleigh survived something horrific and yet she still allowed herself to move closer to Machete. I liked how this element wasn’t rushed and gave a lot of consideration to what had happened before. Machete is big bad and bold and yet an absolute sweetie underneath it all. Alpha protective by nature I loved how he constantly made moves that supported Marleigh’s need to find her friend.
A quick paced storyline full of danger, romance and intrigue I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Neither have pasts that encourage relationships. Right now she has sacrificed her life to a friend (read to find out how and why--no spoilers) Running into her while checking out a problem for the Harlots MC, something about her captures him. Later when thrown together there is so much more to bring them together.
Lots of action, an ongoing series problem for the MCs, great characters, lots of MC action, steam, questioned loyalty, family by blood and club, and so much more. It isn't a long book but it contains a huge story. Now I just have to wait for more. (it isn't a cliffhanger just an ongoing storyline. The couple's story is complete) Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
When Marleigh escapes from her buyer after being trafficked, she leaves behind her best friend and vows to find her and bring down the group responsible, she is able to infiltrate Andrei Petrov's club where most women are going missing. The RBMC have reason to believe Petrov is up to no good and Machete and Pretty Boy go to check it out, that's when Machete sees her, when he leaves he can't get her out of his head and they bump into each other again a few days later, that's when he says they will help, and when her identity is compromised, he vows to protect her.
Absolutely brilliant, page turning read.
