This is not a love story. I never asked to be drugged again, kidnapped again and held prisoner ‘for my own good’. By the boys who swore they’d never hurt me no less.
If everything they do, have ever done, is with my best interests at heart, then they won’t mind helping me exact my plan for revenge on the ones who hurt me most: their own fathers.
If I’m going to do this, I will need The Holy Trinity by my side.
The Father.
The Son.
The Spirit.
Once upon a time they were my entire world, but now they’re my pawns in a deadly game of chess that will see me crowned Queen of more than just their empires – if the secrets we keep and the lies we tell don’t threaten to tear us all apart first.
The Hunting Grounds may be drawing to an end, but The Hunting Games are only just beginning.
***
The Hunting Games is a dark reverse harem story with extremely triggering events, friends to enemies to lovers themes and harrowing backstories. This is book two of The Holy Trinity Trilogy. The series will have a HEA, but it will be a rough ride to get there.
This book was significantly better than Hunting Grounds. I was hesitant to start it because I was still annoyed by Odile’s actions at the end of book one - but honestly, book two gave her the redemption arc she needed. We didn’t get the hotel massacre I was secretly hoping for, but she didn’t let the guys walk all over her this time. She stood her ground, fought back, and fully stepped into her power. She was a goddess, and I LOVED her.
Also, I knew it - I had a feeling Zie’s sister was Odile’s baby from the start.
As for the plot… I was on the fence. I didn’t understand Axel or his plans at all. He was kind of just a dick the whole time. The only redeeming quality he had was his jealousy and possessiveness toward Odile. That worked for me. Somehow, I think Rose is actually his, and the whole “getting the teacher pregnant” thing was just a ploy to manipulate Odile into having his child.
I thought Hector was going to be a new love interest, but I was wrong. I still don’t know what his role is or why he was even there. Also, I have no idea why Axel is weirdly protective of Arcelia - but I don’t like her. At all. I’m riding with Odile every single time. She solos.
Oh, and for the record - I still hate the Gods. I was rooting for Odile to kill them, but let’s be real… that’s never going to happen.
Hunting Games is the second book in the Holy Trinity series. This cannot be read as a standalone. I have soooo been anticipating this one since the end of Hunting Grounds and yet again, I was left in a complete doozy. I swear Axel, Kaiden, and Zie, gave me emotional whiplash right there with Odile. Girl, I feel your pain. And the Cliffhanger Queen has done it again!!! I NEED MORE!!!
Hunting Graves ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is for sure a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoyed this book more and the characters more. God poor odile. Kaiden I love you you sweet boy. I may have to make you one of my book boyfriends. I’m honestly interested to see where the hell this is going.

Hunting Games picks up from where Hunting Grounds left off. There's no breather, it just lets you up for a quick breath before dunking your head straight back under again. This instalment sees the competition heating up and the tangled, broken relationships becoming more tangled and maybe a little less broken. Odile keeps pushing back against the guys at every chance she gets. I did pick the reveal for a certain aspect of the book, and I was right, but that is totally okay. Getting to meet other characters that are rounding out the world has been a wild ride, and I'm loving Odi's friends. Especially Lou.
The pacing keeps up in this one and it doesn't slow down at all. I'm still wanting to throttle and hug numerous different characters all at the same time and I don't see that changing any time soon. The way that the story keeps unfolding and more and more layers are being uncovered just has me hooked!
This has to be one of the darkest books I've read in a long time. It haunts you, you're thinking about it long after you've put it down. And the way we're drip fed the trauma of Odile's past throughout is just so painful it makes your soul ache.
I loved it, the tension between the characters, the way that not all the guys are up for sharing. The growth of Odile and her vulnerability. Such a fantastic story.
And that cliffy with the prologue from the next book? Near unalived me that's for sure! Absolutely cannot wait for book 3!
I thought the first one was intense, I should have known better. There is so much going on in this story, that you just can't stop reading it. Everytime Odi and the guys take a step forward... something happens to knock them back. There is one certain person that I seriously want to throat punch, ok more than one.....I don't want to give anything away. So... Buckle up, grab some snacks because you will not be able to put it down
What did I just read? WHAT DID I JUST READ? I can't believe that ending. Seriously?! I'm so excited. I hope it's true. Odi doesn't deserve everything she went through, but maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel and she can get her HEA. To be honest I don't like much Axel and Zie. Kaiden is passable. Although they all deserve to grovel at her feet for everything they made her go through, and that she still has to deal with. However, Odi is no damsel in distress. Every time she's knocked down, she comes back up swinging and it's time to swing at the Gods. They are going down and I'm all here for it.
If I thought the first book sent me on a tailspin, holy crap was I not prepared for this 2nd book! I just need to start by saying that I need to know who knows what secrets because there is so much that is going to be uncovered that I would find it hard pressed to believe that any one of our 4 MC's knows everything- even Axel and that is saying something since I am fairly positive that he knows a heck of a lot more than the Kaiden, Zie and Odie.
What really drew me in with this story was not only the story itself, because let's be honest, this may be one of the most twisted stories I have ever read, but the character development and interactions between the MC's. I really loved Odie's growth within this story- she wasn't shy or meek or anything like that in the first book but if she was a force to be reckoned with in that story, that pales in comparison to this one. She certainly plays into her need and want to test the boundaries, especially when it comes to Axel and has no qualms about speaking out about what is going on, especially when it comes to anything with her being The Doe. I think some of the funniest moments in this story were where she was working to push Axel over the edge in an attempt to make him break. The situations she helped craft to accomplish this were hysterical and made Axel's reactions even more enjoyable.
I also really enjoyed the slow recovery of Odie's realtionship with Zie. They are certainly still hot and cold with each other (emphasis on the cold) but there was the beginning of a sense of moving forward and discovering the new people they have become and rebuilding their broken relationship. Their chemistry certainly hasn't diminished so it will be really interesting in book 3 to see what comes of that as well as Odie's chemistry with both Kaiden and Axel as well. They are all so explosive with Odie on the page that I am just waiting to see if Odie really won't have to choose because I am not sure how she is going to be able to.
I cannot wait to pick up the next book in the hopes that all of the secrets that have been hiding in the shadows are finally revealed. Once again, this book left me with a cliffhanger that was OMG and WTH with even more questions than I had in the beginning. If you love stories that are great at not only character development but keeping the plot twists hidden until the last possible moment, this is 1000% a series you are going to want to pick up. It will leave your head spinning and your brain hurting from trying to figure everything out!
*RH *Contemporary *Multi-POV *DARK - triggers galore *forced proximity *secret organisations *friends to enemies to lovers ish *angsty emotions *established harem (3) *mid-burn 🔥 *2/3 Dark, depraved and delicious 🖤 Wow Crystal blows it out the park with this second book of the trilogy focusing on Peony, our doe and her old childhood friends, Axel (the father), Kaiden (the spirit) and Zie (the son)! I really enjoyed the way this story is told through the chapters which focus on the present and then the flashbacks in between that give terrifying insights into Peony’s life when the boys left, and the boys giving up hope whilst they’re away starting their empire! The emotions 😣 We start to see Peony really come into her own in this book in terms of standing up for herself after what happened at the hotel and starting to take her vengeance! I love as well that she is not letting the boys, well Alpha Ahole Axel in particular, get away with the shit they’ve done - she is more than happy to remind them of their misdeeds! Petty revenge with Kaiden had me crying 😂😂 But honestly with little things that Peony drops these boys realise that they’re might have been more going on than what they ever thought….despite that, in little and definitely different ways, these boys start to show Peony that she’s their heart and that they haven’t given up hope entirely 😍😍 BUT it does not help that one person in particular is determined to build on the discord between these men and put a wedge between these brothers and there’s nothing Peony or Zies realisation can do 😢 and it might just all come to head and get worse as her secrets are revealed as well as someone’s ultimate betrayal…will this brutal cliffie break the trinity and their heart?!?!
6/5⭐ Extra Star Read I love this series. I loved the first and the second more then lived up to book one. The plot is great twist and turns. The characters are well done and the story is well written and keeps you sucks in. This is a dark contemporary romantic suspense, nsecret society, second chance friends to lovers enemies to lovers reverse harem romance. Continuing with the flashbacks from last book to give you insight into what happened when the guys moved away. In all the characters POVs.
If your a fans of Royals of Foryth and/or Church. I think this is in the same tone / vibe but definitely it's own different thing. It's not bullying, it's possessive controlling guys trying to own the the FMC and keep her safe... In a controlling way lol Some more when others. And in this series through the hunting grounds. The FMC has a traumatic past that is following her and finding her strength, place in that world while also working on things with the guys in endangered situations.
What I really like about this FMC even when she's mad at the guys she will take a minute and say 'Okay I might be mad but I'm not going to leave because I know someone's after me I'm not going to make a stupid decision based on that.' Anything that I questioned last book or was like a little iffy on was resolved in this book when it came to motives and things happening. We get to go more in depth. And then we're left with a cliffy that'll have you 🤯 about things lol here for it, so want & need book 3. So. Good. This is a trilogy & author Crystal North has said that book 3 will be coming out next for her and its current pre-order date is a placeholder. I'm so excited for the conclusion. Highly recommend this book and this series.
This cliffhanger is brut@l in all the best ways, it will leave your heart & your mind racing, have your adrenaline pumping, your language will be VERY colourful and your kindle is very likely to end up with a few cracks. My jaw dropped, I screamed and now I'm speechless. This book is a journey. After the whirlwind of Hunting Grounds I didn't know what to expect but this book will ruin you. I loved book 1, this book though, I can't cover just how much I loved it. It made me cry, made me rage, made me smile, & made me laugh a lot. I loved the moments when the humour came out, this book is really dark and yet with these moments, it allows your heart and emotions to recover just a little bit. I appreciated it so much. Odile has officially become my favourite heroine. She is everything from fierce to soft hearted, sassy, humorous, and resilient. I loved getting to know her and her story more. Her men, well they've dragged every emotion possible from me, going from one extreme to the other. One moment panting after them, to wanting to nut p*nch them. I loved getting to know them more and loved seeing and understanding their feelings more. I loved Kaiden in book 1, but got to say they are all equally up there although I have a strong suspicion that Axel will be my favourite. I should have known #hannahhasthebesttaste The writing is phenomenal, the plot twists are incredible, this book is addictive and the characters are everything. I can't praise this book enough. Read it, you will not regret it.
It’s like a bomb went off in my brain and I desperately need the next book asap! The secrets that get unveiled during the second book had my jaw dropping every 5 seconds. The banter was freaking hilarious “”holy fucking moly Christ on a cracker stick a fork in me lord for I am done” I was literally laughing out loud for this one! I got all the feels and I’m pretty sure I even shed a few tears for miss peony 😭 But she is a force to be reckoned with, and I am here for it
I waited to rate until I read all the books so I knew where it ended and how it wrapped up. (This same comment is for all three books)
Overall, the present timeline was well written and flowed. I was super irritated with the guys at multiple points and wanted to scream or cray with her so great job!
The one pain point throughout the whole series for me was the going back in time story. It would jump timelines, it would cause confusion as it what we were seeing from the past didn’t flow for the present.
I don’t believe it would have all been good to have at the front of the story, but the initial meetings of the kids, and the final moment before they were separated would have been better to have a first and then other chunks with “___ years ago” or “age ___” would have made the series flow better. There were so many times where I was guessing where in the time line we were at or why we have these random 1 page chapters from one person who was unhappy years ago and then a chapter in the present from someone else. While the past told the story, I would have rather the past story been either more as a prequel book or more in a timeline distributed throughout.
Book 2 was better then the first and i didnt think that was possible. This whole series has kept me on the edge of my seat saying "Just one more chapter".
Peony has been assaulted again. This poor girl just cant catch a break. She has agreed to play along with the guys for this stupid game. But her end game will never change. To get revenge on those evil vile men that hurt her. She has begun to let her walls down with the guys again and is falling for them but she wont admit it to anyone.
Kaiden is in love with her. He always has been. He will do whatever he has to do to make sure no one, not even his brothers hurt her again. She is after all his perfect match. They are both dark and dangerous and a little psycho. Kaiden is my absolute favorite out of these three guys.
But these games are definitely ramping up and becoming dangerous. These men all think Peony os this sweet girl that cant hold her own but she gets to beat them all at their own game and it is very satisfying. Now the games are over though all of Peony's demons rise up from her past. Its things they guys werent prepared for.
Once again this one ends on a cliffhanger but so worth it. The darkness this book takes you too is delicious and amazing
Hunting Grounds was a whirlwind of craziness. Peony and the boys very much love one another but it seems obstacle after obstacle gets in the way. Zie and Peony's relationship was pretty first loveish and the fact that it got cut short just for Zie to come back a raging meany hurt my entire soul. Kaiden cared deeply for her and it still shows in everything he does while Axel thinks that he rules the whole world. To be perfectly honest I can't stand Axel. Even his random tender sweet moments don't make up for his attitude and all around better than everyone demeanor. They're supposed to be brothers, a unit, and he still tries to rule over them. Which leads me into Hunting Games. Their bonds showed a little more throughout this book. I still wasn't a fan of Axel until the very last part where he showed how much he truly cared but I enjoyed watching Peony grow more and the boys realize how much they were missing. There were some darker themes in this book that would be hard to stomach for some but I honestly cannot wait for the third book to see the General get what's coming to him. After everything she's been through Peony deserves some good.

Hunting Games is a roller coaster of emotions, and just when you think you have it figured out, you're hit with more twists and turns and everything you thought you knew was a lie. Odi is one strong badass I have a total girl crush on her. After everything she's been through, she just keeps on going.
Axel seems like the ultimate Alphahole, BUT I wholeheartedly believe that he is redeemable even after all that he has done. He is a chess master and Odile his Queen.
Zie just wants the girl he left behind, but can't seem to get his head out of his ass long enough to find out who the new Odi is. He's too stuck in the past to see what is right in front of him.
The only one out of the bunch who seem to see the real Odi is Kaiden, and I'm pretty sure he is just trying to mould her vagina to his cock on any and every available surface.
Crystal North has outdone herself with this series and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

This book was a good continuation of the first. It just kept going from where the first one left off, and I cannot wait to move on to the third, so we can continue the story. There were a couple things that bothered me in this book, but overall I enjoyed it.
First, there was a wrong word used in there. I think it was the word thought that was used rather than something else (it was near the end of the book, and I don't remember anymore, offhand). It took me too long to decipher that one sentence.
Second, it really bothered me when she went after Justin. Did she really have to have sex with him before she killed him? I get that it is a massive "F- You" to Axel and the guys, but that just felt unneeded and out of character.
Third, I wish there was more in there about the games. I understand that Odi didn't really have much to do with them and didn't know anything, but I wish it was explained more. It just feels a little arbitrary.
I am going to continue on to the next book so I can finish the story.

Book two of the Holy Trinity is a whirlwind of emotions, some funny, some sweet, some pretty bad and sometimes making me spitting mad!
In this book we get a lot more insight to what happened between the time the guys left for college and the time Odi joins them. There are several scenes in the past and in the present that might be triggering for some, so please make sure to read the list of triggers thoroughly.
I like Odi's character development as she comes more info her on as well as the POVs of the guys and their doings and struggles.
Sometimes I felt that especially the scenes from the past had me posing more questions instead of getting answers and maybe leaving me a little bit confused, but I have the feeling that the third book will be an all around tornado if this is a storm. I'm very much looking forward to be blown away by it.
I received this book for an honest review and am leaving one voluntarily.
This is the second dark, emotion provoking, and steamy book in the Holy Trinity Series, and if you thought book one was good, wait til you dig into this one, it’s a definite page turner.
I absolutely love Odi, and loved the growth she shows in this book. She has been though such misery, but it has not broke her, only made her stronger. The guys are infuriating and made me want to nut punch them half the time, but I loved them all the same.
The look into Odi and the guys’ past that we get in this book is intriguing and adds such dynamic to the story, I very much enjoyed getting those peeks!
The writing, storyline, storytelling, characters, character and relationship development are all incredible, as is the, pull out my hair, made me want to riot, cliffhanger. If you love a great, contemporary, dark, reverse harem, enemies to lovers, forced proximity read with humorous moments and triggers aplenty, then this book is for you.
Talk about bombs...so many bombs. Again, the darkness in this series is unrivaled. The things that Odile has had to endure and the secrets...Oh the secrets. I actually thought this book was going to be the last one...silly me. I just had to keep going to get to that last page...mistakes were made!! There is still one more book to go!!
Odile has to choose to trust in her guys and hope that they don't disappoint her again. I keep waiting for them all to put their cards on the table so everyone knows the truths of the past. Then the revelation at the end?!? How could he?? I'm shook...
I have so many hopes for the next book...I want actual groveling from the guys and all the truths laid out so they can band together without secrets. I know they will all end up together and Axel will know and understand that Odile needs all 3 of them, not just him. Will they just please "off" the General?!? He doesn't deserve to keep breathing!!!
I loved this book. I devoured it in less than 24 hours. It was a struggle to step away from it and I am looking forward to book 2. I enjoyed this book even more than book one. Yes it is dark and has its tough moments but I really the story just pulled me through. I know the whole point of a why choose is that you don't have to have favourites but ... I love Kaiden. His darkness mixed in with humour. He is truly my favourite. Whereas I want to just punch Axel in the face! Odi comes into her own somewhat in this book. You get to see more of what occurred during the missing two years to give more insight into why she is the way she is. There are so many secrets between them all which are slowly unravelling. Only time will tell as to how it will all unfold. As always, I loved Crystal's writing and will keep an eye out for the third and final book in the series. Please do not hurt Kaiden!
Dark and twisty while also captivating me until the very last sentence. Book 2 was exactly what I prepared myself for it to be. CRAZY and INTENSE.
What an up and down roller coaster of emotions between Odile and each of the men. For every step forward there always seems to be a few steps back. We get these amazing glimpses of the strength Odile has after all the trauma she has suffered. I hope in the last book we see her grow even more in that strength.
The plot moved very fast in this second book, or maybe I was more on edge while reading. This read is jammed packed with so many mind twisting moments. Relationship rebuilding was more prominent in this book and while the path of each relationship is still tumultuous, I am starting to see some hope for a happy FMC in the end.
This is book 2 of a completed trilogy. Check trigger warnings and grab book 1 before reading this one.
Excellent!! The series keeps getting better and better! With twists, drama, humor and steam! I loved how we kept getting glimpses of the past in each of the different character's POV. It gave us a better understanding of them and what was really going on. We learn a lot in this book too. So many secrets and lies!! This book also brought out so many emtions! My heart wanted to break at times for Odi, but I was also proud of her. She grew so much in this book. Odi continues to prove that she is not only a survivor, but also a fighter. I'm not gonna lie, the ending is a major cliffhanger. It had me screaming, however I can't help but think there is more to the story. I need book 3 as soon as possible please!! I loved it!! Definitely deserves more than 5 stars!!
What a phenomenal second book! This book sees the story with Odi and her guys (the Trinity) deepening with lots of action, secrets and intrigue. This is a dark book so there are triggers. I absolutely loved the character growths we get from everyone, with more insight into their pasts. It really gave the story a raw and complex feel. I really liked the anticipation on what's going to happen next. Crystal North gave my emotions a rollercoaster ride with this book. There's always something that's happening, good or bad and I really enjoyed that element to the story. And that ending.... I need the next book asap! Great second book and I have so many theories on what I'm hoping to see in the next book!
Hunting Games was so chock full of cracking plot twists and turns that it had my head spinning in this 2nd book. There's so much lies and secrets that continued from the 1st book that seem to get in Odi (FMC Peony) and The Trinity - Axel, Kaiden and Zie's way. So much was left unsaid for the majority of this book until right up till the last chapter when some were revealed to go together to make for one hell of a cliffhanger ending.
Back to this book I genuinely wanted Odi to put her foot down with Axel. In my opinion he got away with way too much. Only the other guys didn't seem to want to stop him though. I'm hoping that changes in the next book? Still I'm loving this series so much and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one
My heart was in my throat for this whole book!! It’s started off ripping it out with the back n forth of the past! The hurt on both sides, not just Odile but Zie and Kaiden. Axel is still a pain in the butt and I’m still unsure of his actions! He’s such an ass and so fucking broody all the time!!
I’m waiting and waiting for the truth to come out! Everything that Odile had to endure while she was left alone without the protection of the Holy Trinity! Each flashback is a little more truth coming forward and I’m holding on like my last breath!
And then the cliffy happened! I mean wtf! I thought we were finally get answers and then bam! Everything imploded!! I’m so glad I decided to read this now bc if I had to wait so long after this cliffy I think I would be losing my mind!
I literally don’t know where to begin. This story had so much potential but fell so flat. I hated the flash backs and could have done without them and instead had that information in the first book. Half the time the book made no sense. I hated how Odeli is supposed to be strong, but she is the furthest thing from. She is so naive despite everything she has been through. I also could not stand that none of them spoke about the past and what happened. They just ignore it all together which is not believable. And the ending… one minute they are driving and the next she’s all of a sudden in on everything? Made 0 sense. Not sure how this got good ratings because it was a rage read.
Wow, this book was so intense I’m feeling a bit speechless after that ending. I had so many questions going into this book and now my list is a mile long. Odile is such a strong character, she has gone through so much trauma and just keeps taking the hits. After being drugged and taken again in the last book, Odile finds herself living with The Trinity in their penthouse for her safety. She has so many feelings for these men but after they way they have treated her in the past and keep treating her now, she’s making sure she keeps her head on the prize and her heart locked. I can’t wait until the last book is out so we can finally get all the answers!!
Hunting Games is book #2 in The Holy Trinity trilogy. This is a dark reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning.
Crystal!!! I need book 3 so bad!!!
So much happens in this book!! Odie is one of my favorite FMCs. She is so strong and is an all around baddie. She kicks butt and doesn't let anything hold her back, and the way she is with the guys, I adore her!! Axel, Kaidon and Zie might drive you crazy, but you will fall in love with them anyway.
This book will have you feeling all the emotions and the plot twists will blow your mind!!! This trilogy is EPIC and I can't wait for book 3!!!
