Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
This was definitely the best book out of Omen of the Stars, and better than any book of Power of Three.
This book is why I have stuck with Warriors for over three years. It had all the excitment a book from this series should, enough surprises and plot twists to keep things interesting, and it answered enough questions, while leaving enough for the fans to ponder over too.
I can honestly say that after getting past the first few chapters, I was not bored once while reading this book, something that isn't true of the other books from Omen of the Stars. I thought that this was going to be the most predictable Warriors book yet after reading the beginning, but I was quickly proven wrong.
Without giving to much away, I think that this book does a great job of building up towards the ending, and that it is a great finish for the fifth book of the series.
All in all, I would say that this book is well worth any Warriors fan's time. There are several old characters returning (not all of them in the way you would expect) and plenty of the action and drama that makes reading Warriors so much fun. 4.5/5
And for a more indepth look at the content of the book...
It's gonna be epic. It has to be Hollyleaf. Or maybe Ravenpaw from the first series wants revenge on Tigerstar and comes to help. I don't thinnk Hollyleaf is the fourth beacause on Wikipedia, in the fifth series the battle has begun and the Three are stressing out because the can't find the fourth. I also heard somewhere in the fifth series Firestar dies. If this happened in the first series or maybe even the second, I would be shocked. But now I dom't care. Erin made Firestar boring. I think he is getting old.
Overall, CANT WAIT! OMSC! (OH MY STARCLAN!)
•After Reading•
OMSC! AMAZING!
Lots of refrences to past books such as Hollyleaf, Sol, and Cinderpelt. I liked that, it reminded me of when Firestar wasn't boring and it made me want to read the series again. (I may do that while waiting for The Last Hope)
This one was little less focused on the Three but there was some Threeness in there, especially when Dovewing loses her powers. It was a good break and I am glad Erin didn't cram it in there.
Sol is back for revenge, too. ThunderClan shelters him, thinking he saved Molepaw and Cherrypaw from a fox. Later in the book, Dovewing and Ivypool stalked him, into the tunnels. And guess who they found. Hollyleaf.
I am gonna leave you hanging, so this the end of my reveiw.
The final battle is growing ever so closer. Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing struggle to find the forth cat in the prophecy to save the clans. But in the midst of their struggles Sol returns. He (of course) is back to his old bag of tricks. But is he truly the forgotten warrior? After all he was never a warrior to begin with... No, the forgotten warrior is a different cat. (Take your best guess :) )
I loved the plot of this book. It was much better than the last warrior book. Dark Forest is brainwashing even more clan cats to join and train amongst their ranks. Ivypool works undercover to discover the time and place of the final battle. She learns that the time is drawing ever closer. But when the time comes will she be able to get out alive or will Dark Forest cats take her down before she can alert Firestar? Loved this book! :) I finished it the day I got it. I wish I could build a time machine, travel forward in time and get The Last Hope. Read it. And get an autographed copy of The Last Hope. :)
Best. Warriors. Book. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLLYLEAF!!! She's back!!!! She made the whole book SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!! I mean the tunnels! And the battle!!!! WITH WINDCLAN!!!!!!!!!
Best book in a long time. I can happily say my faith in the series has been instantly restored.

Oh my gosh I can't wait to read it! *screams at the top of her lungs then does a victory dance* I think the "Forgotten Warrior" is going to be Hollyleaf and it's gonna be something like she's been living alone and she had actually escaped the underground river. I really hope Hollyleaf come back! I miss her and I wish that Lionblaze, and mostly Jayfeather would forgive Leafpool. It's so sad how they're angry at her and I really want Leafpool to be the medicine cat again!
aah hollyleaf's back! I missed her so much. I don't remember her acting so wise, must have been the caves. I think she was lying about not seeing other cats though, when Ivypool and blossomfall went down they met a cat. (I think it was fallen leaves but he's a ghost so I'm confused.)

It was um... good. It wasn't the best. The things that happened were just unexpected. I recommend reading the other books first. But I do recommend this series!
This book series has been my favorite since as long as I can remember. After a long break, ive decided to return to where I left off, this book. Im instantly hit with bittersweet memories and nostalgia, and after a joyful read ive decided to write this review.
This is the 5th book of the fourth arc of the series (of course if you read the previous books you would understand more about the names im going to list off). It begins with relative peace in Thunderclan, as the height of Greenleaf is around the corner. The threat of the Dark Forest is still in the air though, as Ivypool continues to comeback from rigorous training sessions there, spying on them undercover while doing her best to make herself seem loyal. A moment of foreshadowing is shown in the first chapter, where Jayfeather finds a tuft of black fur in the Medicine Cat den (you most likely know what it means ;) ). An unexpected arrival of the loner Sol greets Thunderclan, where appraisal coincidentally falls into his paws, which makes his arrival greeted with hostility as well as welcomes. Much more happens throughout the book as tension hangs in the summer air, when clans are separated in their most dire moment, when they should join together to fend off a greater enemy, rivalry seems to come in the way. To summarize, this book is like the beginning of the end, the calm before the storm, as I assume the next book will be the finale (I haven't read it yet).
This book excels at keeping you intrigued, with random events around nearly every corner, while reminding you of a greater threat looming over the clans by the lake, and clearly exemplifying the main characters worry. As usual the authors have the effect of making things happening in the book feel personal to me, even eliciting a chuckle from me sometimes.
Nothing here really stands out wrong, or maybe my opinion is biased to my nostalgia of this series. But either way, I thinks its good for its kind.
Hollyleaf was always one of my favourite. I don't care or take notice of some of the Warrior Cats fans who say it's her fault that Squirrelflight is not living a good life or that Squirrelflight should be with Ashfur. Please! Just PLEASE! ASHFUR TRIED TO KILL LIONBLAZE, HOLLYLEAF AND JAYFEATHER AND FIRESTAR. How could I want him to be with Squirrelflight? To make her days dark and horrible? Ashfur wanted Squirrelflight. He didn't care about her. So why is Hollyleaf not good? Well that's the point. She's not good. She's ONE OF THE BEST.

First off how can you be spying on the dark forest if you refuse to tell anyone anything that's happening there, and why is everyone so dumb in this book. Literally with cinderheart being confused even though starclan literally reincarnated her to be a warrior instead of a medicine cat. Everyone fussing over being half clan or not fully thunderclan or whatever when even starclan told them it's not that deep. Jesus everyone is so dumb

I was a little disappointed to learn of Sol's reasoning behind visiting the Clans; it just seemed like such a common thing to hold a grudge over. Also, I don't think it takes much guesswork for readers to figure out who the forgotten Warrior is, so I wish that "surprise" could have actually been, well, surprising. But anyway, not bad. It's still Warriors.
To było... To było coś to tylko pokazało że słuszna decyzja było czytać dalej! Nie mogę doczekać się co będzie dalej a Powrót Ostrokrzewiastego Liścia to było dobre hah nie wiem co pisać. Więc no.

The Forgotten Warrior, the long awaited book 5 in the Omen of the Stars (OotS) series of the Warriors book. And the second to last book of the series as we know it. According to the authors, the next series of Warrior Cats isn't written; and would take place at the beginning of the clans, kind of like prequels. I was worried I'd be confused; having finished the previous OotS Warriors book in June; but there are always short and sweet little reminders thrown in, which aren't excessive; cause I didn't notice them previously when I was reading each book back to back...but just enough in this case to refresh my memory. This book picks up about a month after the events of 'Sign of the Moon' book 4 in the 6 book OotS series. The battle of the Dark Forest looms ever closer, the Dark Forest cats are still recruiting heavily, training cats from all four clans in their dreams. As always I find the dream-walker element of the Warriors series fascinating. All these cats being trained separately and almost like a second clan is causing rifts within the traditional clan structures...then when a stranger appears within ThunderClan spreading more mistrust and fear...well let`s just say there's never a dull moment within the clans.
As always, the writing style is delightful; light and easy to fall into again even considering I had read the previous book almost 6 months ago. The pacing is quick, the action is violent and brutal, and the plot thickens with secrets and prophecies. Everything we`ve grown addicted to when we started reading the Warriors series, way back when. I had forgotten how much fun it is to read from a cat's perspective (lol) Its surprisingly human; but with some unique differences: The narrative is more instinctual, a lot of information comes from the senses; what they hear, what they smell, what they see and what they taste and feel. It's fascinating to read from a perspective other than human, a refreshing change from the day to day fiction. Also the clan dynamic is still as much fun for me. The hierarchy of it all, the code the warriors live by, and how certain warriors bend it more often then others...I really had missed it all!
Jayfeather is as usual, my favorite perspective to read: he's moody and defensive, but I love his special powers. His ehnhanced empathy (knowing what other cats are feeling), his hightened intuition and his dreams of course. I especially love when he visits other warriors dreams. He can even transform their dreaming environment to suit his purpose. Even to places he's never been in times before he was born. I'm happy that he uses it for good and I'm still further fascinated with his powers... He's still so intruiguing to me; a blind cat who almost sees better than the rest of the clan. Out of all the warrior series, he's definitely one of my all time favorites...with Brambleclaw and Firestar of course. I really enjoy Lionblaze's perspective as well, not only for his special powers and part in the prophecy, but for his venture into the dark forest and how it built his character...very like Brambleclaw who he thought was his father what seems like so long ago.
This one ends on an obvious cliffhanger to the Dark Forest battle that looms over our heads till the 6th book comes out in like 6 months from now...no surprise there. I really enjoyed this addition to OotS and I seriously hope I can make it till book 6 comes out! Let the countdown begin :)
Whoo, it's so fun to get back up to speed with the main cast! And once again, it's incredibly entertaining to not know exactly what happens next. For once I can actually be kept somewhat on my toes!
This one was pretty fun overall! The beginning was very ~mysterious~ and while I wasn't a fan of
The conflict in this book felt pretty repetitive; oh no, WindClan is mad at us, we're mad at WindClan, don't talk to the other Clans because they could be traitors! Also the medicine cats don't trust each other anymore thanks to StarClan (except little athiest Mothwing, bless her) and blah blah blah. Thankfully the book was saved by the interesting twist of the spoiler mentioned above (so fun) and Cinderheart's whole revelation. I really, really hope she chooses to be true to herself and not be a medicine cat just because she has the knowledge; she can still help her Clan as a loyal warrior! It's not like Jayfeather is going anywhere anytime soon.
While this plot point is super weird if you think about it too long (why did only Cinderpelt get to be reincarnated? what about other cats who died before their time/didn't get the chance to live their life as they wanted? what do her newly discovered memories mean for her maturity level and relationships to others, namely Lionblaze (who is suddenly much "younger" than her mentally) and Brackenfur (who is her father but used to be her brother)?) it's also fascinating to think about and watch, and it's nice for Cinderheart to have her own little "oh, I'm special too" moment. I never realized I was a LionCinder shipper, but I just want them to be happy gosh dangit ;-;
I also really love the relationship between Jayfeather and Lionblaze? And how they really do seem like brothers. Sometimes the familial relationships in this series get reduced to "Hey sis!" and "Love you bro!" but I feel like theirs is pretty well portrayed. Also, Jayfeather talking with Cinderheart trying to make his brother happy, my heart. Also also, unrelated but for some reason the idea of Sorreltail having more kits was so cute, I'm so happy for her. Precious mom.
I could go on but I think that about sums up my feelings about this particular volume. We're gearing up for the big finale in The Last Hope, and I'm kind of dreading it? I know some big things that happen and I'm not ready to say goodbye 😭 But at the same time, it'll be good to finally be on the road to having all the books read so I can navigate the internet without fear of spoilers. First, I have to wait for a copy of Beyond the Code so I can check in on how SkyClan is doing, but then it's full steam ahead!
In The Forgotten Warrior, the plot of Omen of the Stars finally thickens, strings are torn together, and the past gets back onto our characters. But on the other hand, some plot points made me so mad, even when I read over my bullet points again to write this review. I originally gave this book 4 stars, but now that some time passed, it’s more a 3.5.
But first coming to the positive things: The title of the book already spoils it, but . I liked the finale as well; the fight in the tunnels was epic but WindClan is still stupid. On a small sidenote, I really liked Dovewing here and her depiction of trauma was so realistic. I wish we would read about this more often, since real world wars don’t leave people unaffected, the same should go then for cats.
But like mentioned above, there are so many plot points that absolutely make no sense and let the characters seem inconsistent. First, the whole plot around Dawnpelt is so stupid. Now, after two books and I don’t know how many moons, she randomly accuses Jayfeather of with no evidence whatsoever. And the worst thing about this is that the other Clans seriously believe this. Have they not learned from the past? I don’t know who asked for Sol, but he’s there again. And now out of the blue, ThunderClan cats listen to his words, fall for him and turn their back on Firestar. It was mostly younger cats I think, but did their parents not tell them about him? At least, we got know Sol’s motivations finally. Jayfeather is so weird here as well. A few months ago, he was really angry with Leafpool but now suddenly, he is mad that she got punished for what the did. When we’re already on the topic of medicine cats, it was so weird how Cinderheart should become a medicine cat, since a few books ago it was said that she should live the warrior life she never had the chance before.
But whatever, the hype for The Last Hope is so real and I can’t wait to read it!
Best book of the OotS series so far. I just couldn't put it down. Sometimes I wonder why I read this series. I suppose it's because it's just so entertaining and such an eye-catcher. :'3 Even though it can be weird and stupid sometimes.
This book is one of my favorite books out of all of the Warriors book. It is filled with action, and drama and it keeps me from wanting to read more. I hope that it will have the same effect to the other viewers as to what it did for me. In this book, i like the way how it transitioned from one characters point-of-view to another characters point-of-view. This book is so good, it will make you want to read the books to come. All in all, i think this book is great and it made me wan to read on more
