I lost my job, scholarship, and apartment in a trifecta of crap luck.
The last thing I want to do is run back home to my parents with my tail tucked. As luck would have it, my old roommate, Mason Davis, has a compelling—if slightly unorthodox solution—to my financial dilemma.
His suggestion?
A live stream feed of me enjoying a little steamy fun with HIM. The smoking hot guy I’ve fantasized about countless times before.
Surely, a tenacious bookworm like me can figure out how to let go of her inhibitions for one night.
Growing up an only child in rural Indiana Cindy grew to rely on her imagination for entertainment. Starting at a young age she would read books to her animals and started telling her stories to anyone that would listen. Over the years her love of reading and telling stories grew into a career of her dreams. She likes to tell sincere stories with unexpected twists.
Okay. I thought long and hard about even rating this book, let alone reviewing it. I won a free copy, and I try to mostly say nothing if I don't like something I got for free. But it's been days now and I still can't get past my rage at the ending. This is one of the top 5 rage-inducing books I have ever read.
The first 3/4 of the book are pretty average romance fare. It's pretty well-written and the plot moves along at a good pace. Its best points are that the main character is fleshed out and likeable and that her relationships with her best friend and parents, although silly, ring true and don't read like pointless plot filler.
Although this book is about making p*rn, if you're looking for steamy content, look elsewhere - there are only 2 or 3 sex scenes, all of which are compressed into a paragraph or two and are so generic and/or vague that you might as well just skip them.
My main complaints are with the last 1/4 of the book. The plot swings suddenly and unexpectedly to the main love interest getting EXTREMELY jealous, possessive, and AGGRESSIVE about it, starting fights, punching walls, verbal abuse, and although our protagonist doesn't like this, we're encouraged to write it off as "excusable" because *he feels bad about it* and *he just loves her so much and it's proof of his real feelings*. BARF!!! WTF!!!
Finally, although a huge part of her identity throughout the ENTIRE book has been not wanting to have kids, suddenly, in the last few pages, we're informed that she can't wait to have a big family of kids with this terrifying dude. The kids/no kids debate was pretty much the driving conflict for our couple, and I am still shocked and mad that it was magically resolved with no indication of why and how it happened. It seems like, as in too many romance novels, the main character got an instant personality transplant when she met "the right man" and her new ambitions are to conform entirely to his vision of the future - in this case, having a few kids and pursuing her "dream career in food" that ends up being delivering ready-made meals to the local sports team (I'm not kidding. THIS is supposed to be the big "she followed her passion and fulfilled her dream" ending). If she were real I would be GENUINELY TERRIFIED for this woman and the life she's about to get trapped in.
So, I'm mad about it. Read this for a primer on how to recognize red flags of abuse and get the hell out before it's too late, I guess.

So this was my first book of the year. It was alright. Picked for the title and hoping for comedy. There was a little in there, more a sweet rom com, dangerous choices. The birds and the bees from the parents was awkward. I liked Jules and Mason, the thing with Noah was a little weird. One video on Allfans no faces shown and then a cry for more with the two of them deciding to date. Third act breakup misunderstanding, jealousy and accusations. It was immature, reminding me they're in college. It was good up until the arguments, quick breakup quick makeup. Nothing accidental about it though.

Tropes: Romcom Roommates Friends to l0vers
Honestly, i am completely confused why this doesn’t have more positive reviews. It is light, super sweet, funny as h3ll. I don’t even normally read (or watch for that matter) romcoms but I really enjoyed this one! It had me laughing so much and grinning the rest of the book. Super fun and fast read for anyone who’s had a stressful week and needs a fluf!
I received this book from the author for free for an honest review.
Lawd ya’ll when Cindy showed me the title for this book I was cracking up. I couldn’t wait to read it. When she asked if I wanted an ARC…legit I jumped. I am so glad I did. This book has so many amazing lines and scenes. I was giggling on my chair on the deck. I legit gave the “Why are you looking at me” stare to my husband when he was all “Lets do something.” UHM NO Jules and Mason are making a PORN! LOL SO Jules and Mason lived together with a snot and Mason moved out long before Jules. She was all kinds of a mess because on top of losing her housing she needs a job. She is at the club whichis never does and is drinking. She makes a fool of herself a couple times and thankfully Noah is there for them. LOL Jules and Mason reconnect and he offers her a room in his condo. Ya know the one he has also ready paid for. Well the comedy of what happens just needs to be read but needless to say Jules is not about t move in when…again …she has zero place to go. Jules moves in and then Mason tells her is secret…ya know he does ALLFANS>>>GASP!! I know right!! SO after a quick chat he says he would love to scene with her for a cool $5K. When a girl is down a girl needs to do some drastic measures. SO Mason and Jules start to blur the line between roommates/dating couple/work mates. They have some misunderstanding, jealousy, miscommunication, and of course a dash of “You trying to steal my girl”!! The story was perfect. It was a great read and for sure I want a book on Mel and Noah.
What's your ideal guy? Funny, sexy as hell and a dollop of sweetness, right? Turns out the same is true for books--and this book has it!
I was immediately hooked by the very likeable main character and her story.
An unlikely plot is made completely believable by this author's really good writing; plot, characters, dialogue--all great. Two things she really likes excels at: humour and steam!
This book starts off funny and then seamlessly morphs into a very hot and yet also romantic book. I can't think of the last time I read a Romance that hit all three of those.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants hot, funny, and romantic all in one book. Five enthusiastic stars.
This was a funny silly read. I got it on stuff your kindle day, and read it for fun. It’s definitely not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was rushed, yes (expected for a 160 page book)… butttttt the chemistry between the main characters was nice. I wouldn’t call her a PORNSTAR, home girl did a couple videos and branded herself that but whatever lmao.
Cindy Tanner's Accidental Prnstar* offers a light, quick read with a playful approach to the college romance trope. The story follows Julie, a college student facing a sudden string of misfortunes, who finds an unconventional solution to her financial woes with the help of her roommate, Mason.
The premise, while potentially controversial, is handled with a comedic touch, focusing on the awkwardness and humour of the situation. The narrative moves swiftly, prioritising the development of the central relationship between Julie and Mason. While the lack of extensive detail might disappoint some readers, it also contributes to the book's breezy, easy-to-consume nature.
The characters are relatable and likeable, and the chemistry between Julie and Mason is palpable. The story explores themes of overcoming inhibitions, taking risks, and finding unexpected connections. However, the book's lighthearted approach might not resonate with readers seeking more depth or complexity in their romance novels.
Overall, Accidental P*rnstar is a fun, escapist read that delivers on its promise of lighthearted romance with a touch of spice. It's a perfect palate cleanser for those seeking a quick, enjoyable story without heavy emotional investment. While the premise might not appeal to everyone, readers looking for a lighthearted and comedic romance will likely find this book entertaining.
If it could happen, it did happen. For Jules, this girl has had a bad run of luck and it just won’t stop coming. Seriously, when it rains it pours. But sometimes, things happen for a reason. Even if there are a ton of follies and shenanigans along the way. Jules has a plan, a good solid plan but sometimes, you have to just let go. She has been given an opportunity to really let her inhibitions go, she really does some soul searching. She and Mason, the super hottie that she lives with, again, become really great friends. They try to keep things in the friend zone but everyone else around them can see what is happening. Jules is extremely relatable as many of us have had those crazy days, sometimes weeks, where nothing seems to go right. The only difference is, I haven’t been propositioned to make steamy videos…have you?? LOL! These characters are very likeable, and the storyline will keep you smiling, laughing and saying OMG and WTF many times. But let’s not forget about the super fun steamy scenes too. The perfect mixture for a great story! I highly recommend!
This story is about Juliet, who’s really down on her luck, and Mason, a total cinnamon roll. They used to be roommates, but Mason bought himself a house with his great new job. He invites Juliet to stay with him because her current roommate is a monster, but he suggests she could make big money fast if she wanted to make some videos with him. She’s a little shocked when she finds out how Mason paid for his house and expensive car, but he’s hot and nobody will ever see her face, so she wants to take him up on the offer. They get along really well and have feelings for one another, but it doesn’t take long for lines to blur. This is short and sweet, and I liked their story a lot.
Started out strong, character seemed genuine, if a bit over the top in their own ways. The petty eating of the horrid roommates food was great and I laughed pretty hard during the waxing scene bc I know the pain. The awkward interactions with Jules parents were also highly amusing.
Then it just kinda got weird. Masons caring became kinda clingy, although with his past you kinda get it. Jules couldn’t be honest with herself or him about her actual feelings. He got upset she wanted to do another video after they started dating…like that day and then couldn’t possibly understand why that might upset him. The whole Noah thing was weird. The OTT jealousy was much, not bc I don’t love a solid “touch her and die” vibe MMC but bc it came off immature and didn’t fit his character which made it teeter into legit toxic territory. Ugh on the third act breakup but at least it was a quick turnaround. Although the ending felt very rushed.
Idk, it was quick which was nice and the first part was mostly funny. Just didn’t keep it up through the end unfortunately.
So I was originally excited for this book I thought it was going to be really spicy and lots of drama but it wasn’t much of either the spice scenes were small and vague kind of the one where if you read it once you read all the others. As for the drama it just wasn’t really there for me it.. I mean the only part that would be considered drama was just mainly manipulation. And the fact that she ended up with him in the end just was the worst I was really hopeful this would be a she ended up by herself ending rather the a very potentially abusive relationship. I mean he got mad that other people were going to be able to see her body but at the same time he was the one posting it. How he reacted multiple time to Jules just talking to Noah was a red flag. that being said I would like to remind you that this is my opinion and you could love this book while I very much don’t.

I thought this was fun. It did really feel like a Wattpad story though. The jealousy/drama was poorly done and I wished she had just skipped that and made the story be a sweet love story. I didn’t need a third act break in a book under 200 pages. I will say the author was able to build decent chemistry within this novella which I usually do not find. The author Cindy Tanner has real potential to write a decent fun romance book. An editor would be helpful. There were some words missing from sentences and sentences that had words added to it like the author had changed it but forgot to delete everything.
I downloaded this book during one of the “stuff your kindle” deals a few months back & just got around to reading it. I’m actually surprised that the reviews for this book are as low as it is because I personally thought it was a good time. It had a few grammatical errors , got a little repetitive in some of the chapters , & I admit… the cover is most definitely cringy af BUT it was worth the read to me. I was literally cracking up every other chapter. 🤣🤣 the FMC was embarrassingly funny.
If you’re into quick cheesy but also spicy romcoms , I would recommend this as a pallet cleanser.
I enjoyed this story. Julie is in a pickle. She is young, sweet, smart and pretty. Mason is helping out her. He is handsome, smart, sweet and young. These two are thrust into an unfamiliar situation. This is a young adult college romance with a little spice on the side. This is my first time reading from this author and she did a amazing job. If you're in a mood for a young adult romance this could be for you. Good job Cindy Tanner!
Down on her luck, Juliet moves in with an old friend and, desperate for money, agrees to make p*rn with him.
This book is fairly fast paced and pretty funny.
I spent much of the third act feeling uneasy due to Mason's acting weird, which I personally didn't love but could also be considered good writing in demonstrating how Jules probably felt hahaha!

i guess i expected something different—i expected their first scene (if you know what i mean) to be something significant considering their circumstances but when it happened, it was so lame? i’m sorry.
after that it was just silly drama after silly drama before the book ended (and it was a short book).
I downloaded this for Stuff Your Kindle Day and thought it would be a fun easy read while having a hangover.
It could definitely use some editing and proofreading. It’s wasn’t my kind of humor. It was entertaining though. Probably not a book I’ll remember in a few weeks, but it was a short easy read that kept me entertained for a few hours.
Did anyone edit this book? The errors/repetition in it is wild. I thought at least the smut would be good but that was also some of the worst I've read. It feels like every inch of plot was ignored and just haphazardly thrown in. :/ MMC was toxic as hell and FMC was very "I'm not like other girls" I think the most likable character was Noah and I wasn't even really supposed to like him.

It has some laugh out loud moments and it a fairly standard romance for most of the story.
I didn't really get the immature arguing/possessive/aggressive bits which felt out of place in the lastquarter and then the epilogue felt even less like it fit.
They're also not accidental porn stars. So yeah. It's OK.
Short, fast read…I feel like the story wasn’t well rounded…meaning it was a bit hurried at times and then slow at times….with some great scenes that the dialogue was extremely well written but then other scenes that seemed rushed and made me wonder what I missed. Shows promise. Will give author another shot.
The grammar, spelling, and repetition of sentences makes me think that this book was not proof read at all.
The jealousy, possessive male energy that the MMC gives off gave me the ick and it felt like all the characters had a personality transplant halfway through.
Cute and funny read Star Wars waxing reference ? Check. Broody love interest who's loved her since day one? Check. A book about how to navigate allfans while being in a relationship.? Check. This story was short but hit all the right notes. It made me laugh and any book that can make me laugh and reread a paragraph a few times is worth a read.
Very cringy, not a lot of plot, there just wasn’t much going on. While I appreciate that the main character gave informed consent, I don’t understand where the “accidental” part comes in. I wish there was more drama to her video going viral.
