Arranged to Love #2

Her Reluctant Wife

Rate this book
All Coralyn wanted was to get back her family heirloom – instead, she winds up married to the billionaire with kinks who had bought the necklace. That is, until her bossy and stunning new wife regains her memory.

Coralyn Anderson ’s dying father has one wish – that the necklace that he crafted for his late wife should be kept in the family. Unfortunately, the one-of-a-kind piece had been sold to pay for his mounting medical bills.

Determined to get the necklace back, even if just for an afternoon, Coralyn goes to confront the buyer, a filthy-rich real estate mogul, Giana Thompson.

Coralyn is prepared to do anything. Beg. Cry. Sell a kidney. What she isn’t expecting is being rejected in the most heartless way and then leaving the office engaged to the drop-dead gorgeous ice queen herself.

Money. Power. An eccentric collection of rarities worthy of inspiring envy. Giana Thompson has it all. She doesn’t have time for fools – or scam artists after her collection. Nobody walks away with one of Giana’s pieces. Certainly not some sad-eyed beauty with a sob story.

Giana sets out to kick Coralyn out of her office when a sudden fall changes everything. When she comes to, she finds out that she’s happily engaged to a beautiful stranger she can’t remember a thing about.

Unexpectedly, their fake affair grows into the real deal – the women fall for each other and actually tie the knot. But when Giana regains her memory, will she ever forgive Coralyn, or risk her heart for real? And will Coralyn still love the real version of Giana?

Coralyn and Giana’s story is the second book in the "Arranged to Love” hot and alluring fake relationships lesbian romance series. Each book in the series is a standalone with a guaranteed happily ever after for the couple.

Great Age Gap Romance!

This was such a different twist on an age gap romance. How it comes to be is so heartbreaking. But as things start to level out an truths appear, things go from bad to worse. But being an ice queen can go only so far. Especially when the ice started showing cracks. Those cracks caused by a sweet, sensitive and proud women who chose to a lie rather than the truth. When all comes to a head, of course only Love can get through. Alexa Woods just has a way of weaving a story leaving you feeling good….

A kinda unique love story in that it starts as an Ice Queen story that then turns in to a full-on romance once said Ice Queen turns nice to the MC, Coraline, then remembers everything from before, including the love the 'other' her felt while not being able to remember who she really was after that nasty head injury. Is this story possible? Yes, very possible. Is it plausible in the way it was written? Probably less so, but I have heard some real life love stories that weren't your average romance at all.

It was certainly sexy, with a healthy amount of both tender and loving sex, and a bit more 'play' time and kink exploration, but the big reason it's a 3 and not a 3.5, for me, is because I would've liked for Coraline to have really gained more knowledge on her being a Sub, while she tried to do her own research once she and Giana were realizing they were both making mistakes in their lives,

The other, second, reason it's a 3 and not a 3.5, is that Some have said that love, real love, is a slow-build that can then burst into something more over time, I get that, but this was REALLY opposite of that. It was a rivals-to-lovers and then lovers-to-loathing.
I felt it was like Giana's default character type to just deny her feelings, to be like any Ice queen, I don't want that, I wanted to read the Ice Queen romance (especially lesbian themed or focused) that break from stereotypes, and that really try to do something else and touch on those themes that are found, but to find other ways to that as well.
That's one that was another factor.

Oh, and the third and final reason it's a 3 and not a 3.5 or even a 4, is simply because Giana wasn't the nicest dom. She barely is shown to provide, or want to receive, any kind of sexual touch or stimulation (I get it, there are some 'touch-me-nots' out there, but those aren't common for all lesbians irl, most like penetration of some kind at least, even if they're the 'top' or 'dom'), but that's not GOOD ENOUGH for me. Show her being open. Show her at least engaging on pillow talks. Show them being able to provide aftercare. If Coraline was the one that decided to leave the relationship as Fake Wife/Real Casual Lover, that's Coraline initiating it, but any good, decent top or dom should at least ask if they would want that shoulder or cuddle., or even just soft touch.

This is my first book by Alexa Woods. I haven't read the book 1 yet and I did not read the blurb before proceeding. I was shocked with the light BDSM theme, did not expect that at all. This was an okay read for me. There were a few typos but wasn't too distracting. 3.25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I feel like the story was weak on portraying the development of Coralyn's feelings for Giana. Two weeks after her father died, she wanted to annul their marriage as soon as possible and then just after six days, she was confessing to Giana how much she needed her and that she was the only thing that makes sense in her life, because Giana was there when she needed someone to lean on. "You're the only thing that's made sense to me since my mom died. The days I spent with you, that made sense...You came for me when I needed you most . You held me. You didn't let my feet touch the earth."

I would have wanted to see more of Giana's transition from being aloof and cautious to letting people in, to reconciling with her family."

My favorite part of the story was when Giana overcame her fears and painful past, owned her feelings for Coralyn and went after her. The grand gesture was very fitting to the story.

This book deserves all the love and attention, mostly because it is so raw and heartbreaking. From the very beginning of the book, I had been swept up in the emotions of the book. A dying father, an already passed away mother, and having nothing substantial to her name. Coralyn is your innocent, sweet and strong protagonist. She's a survivor and a fighter. And exactly why she doesn't think twice before calling up Gianna's office to talk her into lending her a necklace her father had crafter lovingly for her mother.
Gianna is the exact opposite of Coralyn. Already having been through hell after her sister's death way back, she's cold and mean to Coralyn.

Honestly, I had thought that Gianna would offer up a contractual marriage in exchange for Coralyn's mother's necklace, but the memory loss plot was far more unexpected and pleasantly surprising.
I enjoyed this book a lot because of the writing and the story. I loved its ending as well, where these two women just opened up to one another on the condition that they learn and grow together, instead of locking themselves up inside.
A wonderful, sexy and entertaining read.

I have to say I was about to stop reading the book after the marriage happened (basically when Giana suggests to start dating with Coralyn) because it was too easy........and then I kept reading and thanked the sapphic goddesses I kept reading because the book was everything I was expecting and nothing I could imagine. These two women are broken so of course the solution to their situation couldn't be easy nor soft or sweet and it was simply perfect.
The only "but" I have is the inner conversations/dialogues or whatever you call when a character is talking to herself and the author shows the situation. I almost lost track of the conversation going on because of it and I think it ruins the pacing a little bit.
I loved the chemistry between the characters and how Giana was some kind of fluffy beast who showed her "feelings" in the most weird ways.
Such a pleasant surprise this book was even if only a little bit slow in the inner dialogues aspect.

Man. The amount of tissue I massacred during a particular chapter was brutal. Hit a wee bit too close to home, but grief can be an ugly troll and a beauty queen, jus gotta be ready for what pops outta the closet that day.

I liked the ladies. The sprinkle of BDSM was interesting, the reason they meet was an excellent way to meet both characters. Only issue? Wasn't completely sold on the ending. I find when the lovers have to rehash their feelings as an ending and summate the book, I lose interest and start skimming because the dialogue becomes disingenuous. If the epilogue was left off I would've been happier. Toward the last couple chapters the language became excessively floral and it wasn't my cup of tea. The rest of the book? Plot, story arc... completely enjoyable.

Huh. I liked it a lot more than I expected.

Book one was fun, but this one was even better. We got a lot deeper into the characters and there was more story to be told, improving non those areas from the first book, with with room for more growth.
No real side characters to speak of and some stuff got repeated and rehashed too much, (a flaw I have in my own writing), and there were a couple teeny tiny typos, but stuff most people probably wouldn't notice.
Sex scenes were sparing but good, more kink than book 1! I wonder if the third book will explore the bedroom stuff even more or improve on other points.
It was a worthwhile read.

Heart catching story

What a huge turned out of this story. I love how the characters evolved as the plot goes by. Not to mention, the slight BDSM on the content of which I like also.
I also like how the writer did with Giana, who from ice queen turned out to be a "sweet in her own way", how the writer peeled all her heart breaks and solid walls and be accepting and healing and be more open.
And I also applaud what the writer did with Carol.. She really did understand Giana, physically and emotionally. She really knew what Giana would need. And knew how to wrap around all her icy remarks throw at her.

It shows as a couple, they really do need each other and they're fit of one another.

Good job. 😊👏

It was worth the wait

It seems I waited forever for this book to be released but when it was, I totally deoured it. I am totally crushing on Gianna. What a beautiful story of pain, loss and love. This author is on my short list of immediate purchase without reading anything about the story. The off the charts sex was the cherry on top to an amazing that would have been stellar without it.

great series

Never expect less than a 5 star from Alexa Woods. Even though I am not into BDSM, the way Alexa Woods writes and represents it in her stories is powerful and part of what makes her characters to human and powerful. This is a wonderful story of two people helping each other heal and discovering their strengths.

"We aren’t ever going to get back what we had, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still good things coming. My dad always said that after my mom died. There are still good things worth finding."

"People live for the good times, but I don’t think you can make it if you don’t learn how to get through the tough stuff too."

amazing

Loved this second installment of this series. Trauma is very part of our lives. This story reflects how we all heal and that love is such an integral part of that process. Steamy scenes and heartfelt dialogues that make you crave more.

Overboard meaningful

Every cliche you can think but with a Mistress vibe. One loses memory, one hope to find a tresure, then memory returns and lust ensures, then a break and then more lust. But a happily ever after, maybe.

This was hot. These two had chemistry for miles even if they didn't realize how good they could be together. Good book can't wait for the next

An almost imposible romance

Even though the story is so unlikely to happen. It still is a very nice soft romance, that makes you cheer for the heroes

Intriguing story

I was quite surprised by this story. The characters are both very strong and very closed in at the same time.

4.6/5 I loved the plot like it was so absurd, but also very interesting. Their healing journey and especially Giana was beautiful. And they’re a rly cute couple.

I’d rate this one a strong 2.8, so I just rounded up to a 3. Not a bad read at all, fairly easy to finish tbh. It started off not so great for me but really picked up in the latter chapters.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. So Coralyn took what she can. Although it was in vain but she got Gianna in exchange. Suspenseful and some drama. Recommended.
