The déjà vu is irresistible but it will change everything.
Although Sophia Page has hopes for a reconciliation with her estranged father, they are dashed when she arrives home only to discover his body. Despite his immense estate, she can find no clue as to why he has summoned her or the suspicious timing of his death. Only the strikingly handsome manager who has just arrived at the stables seems willing to help her investigate. Although he’s a stranger, her uncanny attraction to him is hauntingly familiar.
Blade Lord Baren of the House of Wolves arrives on Terra only to find himself in the middle of a crisis. Although a trail of money leads to a stately upstate New York manor, the dead owner is beyond his reach. His lovely daughter, however, becomes an ally and an obsession. While the mysteries mount, Baren is sure of one thing: Sophia must never learn how he knows her.
Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.
Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.
When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.
The author is a master story teller. Each series episode tells a story of an ongoing unprecedented fight between good and evil for the survival of two worlds, each a shadow world of the other. What I mean by that is that geographically the two worlds are almost identical. Along the way in each episode a love story happens between two people. This time it is between Sophia and Baren. Sophia's father sent her away at a young age and never had a relationship with her. She finds out too late that he was protecting her. What complicates things is that Sophia is from one world, and Baren from the other. Oh, there is also the small matter that Sophia is mortal whereas Baren is immortal. The rogue villain is powerful, despicable, and one minded. He seeks to destroy life as it is on both worlds. He wants to become a god over both, and those who survive would become mindless drones serving his every whim. Humanity, especially females, are subspecies in his eyes. I was raised to treat women as equals, in no way subservient to men. The rogue's attitude toward women, just in itself, raises my hatred for the rogue villain. Baren’s shadow world has several “blade lords”, in a primitive pre-technology place where life is set up similar to life in the Middle Ages, with a ruler and vassals. The blade lords can travel to our world and back through a system of mirrors. But they can only stay a couple of days each time. They are immortal and the only ones who can so travel except for any human holding on to a blade lord as they pass through the mirror. Each of the blade lords treats his subjects well and protects his people.
Debra Flanders is head of a group called the “watchers”, or Paramounts, descendants of a group who chose to return to earth when the blade lords became immortal and took over from their oppressors. This group also strives to eliminate the rogue villain.
The story is very engaging, and once I began reading I just had to keep going. I finished it the day after I started it. The sad thing is . . .we have to wait until October for the final episode. Bummer! But this is another great story by Hazel Hunter. Reading the previous books in the series is not mandatory, but greatly helps understanding the settings and some of the characters.
This is the 4th book in this series and just like the others this one does not disappoint. We are final get to know who the true Rogue really is, but not until the very end.
Sophia has not been home in years after her mother passed away, he sent her away to boarding school and she has not been home since. Out of the blue her father calls her and request her presence. She is not really thrilled to be going home but she really wants to know why her father after all these years is requesting her presence and not really giving her a choice. When she arrives home, she soon discovers that her father is dead. Now she is left in the dark as to what her father really wanted to talk to her about.
Baren is another blade lord, and he has crossed over as the Hawk has requested that he crosses over to keep an eye on their enemy as things are starting to heat up. From what he understood was that he was going to stable manager and there was not mention of a daughter but once he meets Sophia, he just can't seem to help himself.
The tension between Sophia and Baren are high but will they be able to work together to figure out who killed her father and why. What was her father hiding from her? Would she find his secrets?
This book starts to unravel who is behind trying to start a war with the blade lords and taking control over both worlds. The book is good fast moving and keeps you on the edge not really sure what is going to happen next. I can't wait for the next book for everything to be revealed at least hope so.
I have voluntary read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BAREN" I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into this story I love this series with all the interesting, entertaining, characters in each book so full of mystery, suspense, intrigue, secrets, angst, danger, twists that make for very addicting stories. BAREN a Blade Lord of House of WOLVES agreed with other Blade Lord's to return through darksilver mirror to Terra to Jerome Page's Estate he's extremely wealthy & the ROGUE is on his way to see him to take over his money to create it his army to take over Teren world & the Blade Lords he's there to keep eye out for the enemy. Sophia Page was sent away at age 5yrs to boarding school after her mother Colette died she hadn't seen her father Jerome in 20yrs. he calls out of the blue & demands she be on next flight home he needs to talk to her but not on the phone. Baren & Sophia meet under terrible circumstances a tradgedy happens to her father now deceased she has no answers as to why he wanted to see her so much mystery the strange connection to BAREN like he's familiar their both attracted to each other. I definitely recommend to get this book so much happens will the BAREN be able to get Sophia to help him figure who the rogue is, then there's Devyn who I love she so mysterious, feisty, her meeting with Jacyn & Rob was just up funny she needs her own story we need to know mire about her. I'm so looking forward to the next book in this excellently well written series it won't disappoint so wanting more things are heating up their getting closet to figuring who the rogue is I so can't wait. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!?
Sophia Page has some hope for a reconciliation with her estranged father, she's not going to hold her breath. That is until he calls and demands that sje get on a plane the next day and come home. When she gets home all of her hopes of getting answers are dashed when she discovers his body. Only the strikingly hansome manager who has just arrived to take over the stables is willing to help her, and although he is a stranger, there is something about him that seems so very familiar. She also finds herself very attracted to him.
Blade Lord Baren of the House of wolves arrives on Terra only to find himself in the middle of a crisis. A money trail leads to a stately New York manor, but the owner is dead and will not be answering his questions any time soon. His beautiful daughter, however, becomes not only an ally, but also an obsession. While the mysteries mount, Baren is sure of one thing: Sophia must never know how he really knows her so well.
Hazel Hunter never ceases to amaze me. This book is another mind bender. I didn’t see what was coming in this book at all. This is one of my favorite out of this series so far and I really enjoyed reading it.
I can't believe the series is nearing the end. We are getting closer to The Rogue. Ms Hunter delivers again, a steamy, paranormal, twists and turns that you don't see coming and edge of your seat story which is absolute page turner. Sophia was summoned home by her father after all these years. She was sent to boarding school after her mother died. When she returned home to see what her father wanted, instead she found his body. Who would kill her father and what did he want with her. Blade Lord Baren of the House of Wolves was tasked to cross over as a stable manager of Sophia's father but instead finds himself smacked dab in the middle of a murder. Trying to work with Sophia to find out why her father was dead and to fight the attraction they have for one another. You definitely have to read this series from the beginning and believe me you will get hooked. I can't wait for the conclusion of this series. I was given a copy of this book and voluntarily leave a review.
Sophia is a Vet student and is about to finish up her degree. Over the last two decades or so, she has not had much to do with her very wealthy father. When he rings her up out of the blue and tells her she has to come home immediately, she’s not happy about it. When she arrives though, she discovers not everything is as it seems and the new barn manager is literally the man of her dreams🤩
Baren has agreed with the other Blade Lords to return to the mirror world to try and find out who the rogue is. However, when he returns he manages to infiltrate the Page residence as a barn manager, but soon realises that Sophia is home which had his mission changing to one of protection😁
A great story and finally the puzzle pieces are coming together and I can’t wait to see what happens in Sharad next❣️I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review😍
I voluntarily read an arc of this book and am leaving an honest review. This was a great book and is getting us closer to revealing who the rogue is. Sophia receives a strange call from her father demanding she come home. While there she meets Baren, Lord Wolf. This was a very sexy book, the characters chemistry happens very quickly and their past connection was so amazing! The depth in the back story and history was interesting and I really enjoyed it. The Paramount needs a story too as I’m really intrigued by her. Being a twin of one of he Released who’s a wife to an immortal, she deserves it. I absolutely loved the sneak peek at the end and am so looking forward to it! Although if it’s the last one I’ll be really sad for this series to end.
Four books into the series, each story continues to build on the drama, intrigue and romance. While each book features a new romantic pairing, there is a greater story that continues to grow with alliances, revelations, and more. Sophia has returned home after several years. However, her return is marred by danger, secrets and unexpected happenings. Baren has passed through the Darksilver in pursuit of answers. His unexpected encounter with Sophia will change both their destinies. Looking forward to what happens next in this series.
The Darksilver saga continues with the story of Baren and Sophia. More treachery is uncovered and the battle rages for both worlds. This is a great series and while this story stands alone, you do meet characters from the other books (which I also highly recommend). Fast paced, excellent world building and character development. High recommended. I finished in one sitting but now want to go back and re-read the series from the start. I’ll wait for the next book and then go back and re-read.
Lots of excitement and danger abound in this storyline. A few twists will keep you guessing. The Rogue is still being elusive, but thankfully we are getting closer to discovering his identity. I loved the growing relationship between Baren and Sophia. This book is filled with lots of information about their previous contact and added to my enjoyment of their tale. Great Book! I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is another great story in a series that definitely delivers. I loved this book and the relationship between Sophia and Baren. There is so much happening that I was so into the story that I could not put it down, I hate adulting anyway. You must read books 1-3 first so that you understand it all. that said, I feel that this is an amazing read that I LOVED!!! I received an ARC from the Author and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Choose and think that it is a Great Story!!!
Oh my, the series is drawing to an end and the pieces are finally starting to fit together. I loved Sophie and Baren, strong in their on rights, but even more so together. Devyn continues to become more human despite her best efforts, and is not rewarded for this. Fast paced, full of action, this is a wonderful read. I cannot wait for Sharad's story!
This is an excellent book. Baren is all about duty. And revenge. Sophia has clues about Baren. After all she has met him before even if she doesn't remember. This story is full of action, evil and control. The entire series is a good one. Highly recommend it.
I love Hazel Hunter's books and this one is no different. This series is an addictive read and I rather like Baren. He has a stronger connection to his lady than most of the Lords, in that he knew her when she was younger. I cannot wait to read the next book.
This fourth book in this series is as entertaining as the other three. There is adventure, intrigue and suspense in the storyline. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is book four in the "Darksilver" series. A series that must be read in order. That being said, a well written storyline and great characters make Baren and Sophia's story a terrific addition to the series. I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing.
