Lots of fun information that actually takes its time but it's in a way that's easy to read. The artwork and care put in the presentation of the book is well worth the price! Plunder your bookstores now for this great treasure!

I’ve read a bit about pirates, and this book had a lot of information I’d never heard before. Upon further review, it seems most of what was in this was inaccurate. Thus, a one star rating.

It wasn't an in-depth pirate encyclopedia but I don't think it pretended to be, either. This book is beautiful, fun, and believeable. The only real weakness is its lack of a bibliography or references section. It still holds a bit of credibility thanks to the author's in-line citations, so I allowed myself to just sit back and enjoy the read. Most pirate lore is fiction anyway, so even if some of the facts in this book turned out to be stretches, fictions, or misinterpretations, it's still valuable information for someone, like me, who loves pirates most of all as a fantasy. I really enjoyed this book!

Very factual and actually really fun to read. I do wish it had more information in it though.

The book itself is very beautiful and its pages are very estheticly pleasig.

This book goes over the basics of pirate history, ships, weaponry, and famous pirates.

If you are looking for a basic book on pirates that's easy to read and not too in depth, then this book is perfect.
